Went stopped by on a pretty busy night. We had good service and good food. The restaurant was a little loud but fine. The have a very nice whiskey selection and a good selection of other spirits. Definitely somewhere I would stop again to have a pour or a cocktail and grab a bite.

As usual we were looking for something different. I spotted The Barrel Room on a search and we decided to try it out. We were surprised at 6:00 on a Friday night that they were not busy. Sometimes that can be a bad sign. We were seated immediately. The waitress came by and took my husbands drink order. I was still trying to decide. We ordered our meal when she returned. Hubby had the Inside Out Pot Pie. He said it was very good! I ordered the Salmon and it was delicious. The only real issue was that after we ordered our meal I decided what I wanted to drink. I wanted to try the Orange Crush, add Pinnacle Whip. It took us almost 10 minutes to finally catch the waitress so I could order. That was a bit frustrating. The atmosphere was casual, not overly lit or noisy. The food was delicious, and other than a lack-luckster attention from the waitress it was a fantastic evening and meal. We will definitely be going back.

I tried this place for the first time. I must say, the atmosphere was great the food wasn't. I got the bourbon bacon jam burger. The burger was burnt and had no bacon jam on it. My fries were burnt as well. My server was great food was horrible.

I really wanted to like this place but each time I come I am disappointed. The servers seem over ran, the drinks are not checked before sent out (bug in our drinks) and the food was not prepared to the price it was priced out to be. Our fish and chips were a literal brick. I stabbed it with a fork and the entire fish came up with it. I even clapped it between my hands and the dexterity of the fish stayed exactly the same. I will only be coming here to get drunk.

Google
We went right before Valentine's day and they had a Sinatra singer serenading the entire place! So cool. We sat at the bar for drinks and an appetizer. The dip was amazing, highly recommended!

I wanted to really like this place because it’s so close to my house. Unfortunately lacking on many fronts unfortunately. Our Brussels sprouts were very hard. Had to send back. Fries came out and were cold after a long wait- which I’m fine with if food is hot- which it was not. Waitress left water glasses empty. Highlight was shrimp appetizer- very good.

Google
Love the location, decor, and music. Used to love the food, but after today, I think the kitchen staff must have changed. Everything was either underdone or an overcooked dried out husk. I asked for a medium cooked bacon and blue cheeseburger. For one, the pattie was cooked to a crisp, and second... well, check the pic. That's the bacon. Lol We might be back some other time, but it probably won't be for the food unless something has changed.

My wife and I went here for the first time on my birthday. We sat down at 6 and order some drink which were good and our server was great. We order food shortly after and after a 2 hour wait our food finally came. I ordered the bourbon street pasta which was extremely dry and had 4 cups of seasoning on it the worst pasta I have ever had. My wife’s grilled chicken salad came out with hair in it. After all 2 hour wait for food you would expect something atleast palatable. $30 plates that should be $12. Our food was taken off our bill but for a restaurant that is supposed to be high end it’s absolutely horrid. If you want a good bourbon feel free don’t order food

Yelp
We had dinner at The Barrel Room recently and we had a great experience. It was a dear friend's birthday and they were kind enough to let us crash their party... they had a fairly large table and some of their guests didn't show up, so they asked us to join them. I decided to try the Steakhouse Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. Unfortunately, they ran out of the usual NY Strip so I was offered a choice of a Ribeye or Sirloin, I chose the Ribeye. It was beautifully prepared to a perfect medium rare, just like I like it! We really enjoyed this ourselves as did everyone else in the group!

Yelp
I love the barrel room! But the last two visits have been such a let down!! Two weeks ago we called at 4:30 to see if we could get a last minute reservation same day for a party of 9. We knew that we may be turned down but it was worth a call. BAM! To our surprise they said they could take our reservation if we would come at 7:00. That was no issue. We get there and waited 50 mins!!! At 7:50 they say they can seat us but it would be at a high top (we have a baby who needs a high chair). This shouldn't have been offered as an option for a high chair, and to make it even worse it was right in front of the musician. We would basically be sitting in his lap with no way to communicate! So we ended up leaving with sad faces and hungry bellies!! Then this last week we went on a Wednesday night at 7:00. We got seated right away. We were a family of five. We had to wait for food for over 45 minutes!! It wasn't crowded and didn't order but one item per person. 2 of which were kid meals. And then make it worse, my favorite thing which I rave about, the Parmesan risotto, was the WORST I have ever had. I basically had a bowl of cream with a lot of grated Parmesan cheese and a few grains of rice, and it wasn't garnished!. It was absolutely depressing. Then a friend of mine ordered take out this oat Saturday and she almost waited 2 hours for her food! Not sure what is happening, but I'm so sad because idk when we will chance it again.

Yelp
Always good when we stop in. Lots f clearly marked gluten free dishes. Drinks are too pricey the food never disappoints.

Yelp
Wanted to try somewhere new for dinner came across this on Yelp and thought we would give it a try! The place was easy to find. No reservation needed midweek, I was informed that weekends it's suggested you make a reservation. I don't believe i will be going back. My friend ordered the potato soup it was more like mashed potatoes I was able to try some with my fork, there was no broth at all. She ordered the fish and chips as she stated you can tell it was frozen fish not fresh. The fries are frozen fries as well. I ordered the filet medallions which came out under cooked and had paprika all over the dish. The waitress took it back to be cooked longer it came back dry as a bone and no flavor at all. The mashed potatoes and broccoli clearly sat under a heat lamp while they cooked or microwaved the steak. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box honestly the potato so called soup was better than the mashed potatoes. I ended up not eating any of the meal. We ordered desserts my friend wanted the key lime pie but we were told they no longer have that. Time to print off new menus then. She ordered cheesecake and I ordered chocolate tart we both agreed that the dessert was the best part of the meal. I also had a margarita that was good as well. I wouldn't recommend going here to have dinner maybe drinks and desserts.

Yelp
Well the service was awesome. Loved the waitress and ambiance however. I ordered my steak medium well. Had to send it back twice and still was basically rare on the third try. This was no fault of the waitress. But this (see picture of 3rd steak) is not medium well. Sorry to say we will not be back.

Yelp
Had a good experience at The Barrel Room tonight. Ordered the Caprese Burger with a side salad. I loved how juicy the burger was. I also ordered a Paloma, it was delicious! Perfectly made Paloma drink, thanks! Place is cozy and dim lighting adds to the ambiance. There was a football game on and an awesome musician, he was playing fun tunes. Parking is ample, you might not get a space right in front, but there's plenty on the side. Overall , food was 5/5, Service 4/5. It was a nice time.

Yelp
Drinks / Food / Staff - very nice place to eat. Back outdoor patio has 2 fire pits. Very nice establishment

Yelp
Reviews were on point and food was great. Risotto was perfectly cooked and sear on scallops was on point. But in the pricey side averaging $30-40 per meal. Wait staff was a little lacking in the attention to the table, but food flavors close the gap left by that.

Yelp
We visited this establishment due to the birthday guy favoring bourbon cocktails. They have an abundance of bourbons to choose from. We ordered the shishito peppers appetizer. It lacked flavor and the cheese sprinkled on it had no flavor at all. It comes with a ranch style sipping sauce to rescue it. The fish and chips entree looked amazing but came out warm and not hot. The seafood risotto was super cheesy but the scallops were cooked to perfection. The southwest chicken salad was delicious. Service was good and the restaurant is nicely decorated.

Roberta D.

Yelp
We typically love this place but Last night we were not so pleased. Out of some entrees, so i decided on South west chicken salad. The chicken was raw so obviously i couldn't eat it but had some before realizing(hoping i don't get sick) my daughter had rib eye and sent back because raw as well Server was apologetic but Never again

Yelp
Been here quite a few times, but tonights food was soooo on point! As usual we tried sitting at the bar, but it was packed solid, as was the restaurant (6 pm on Saturday). There was 1 open seat which wifey sat in and our bar sitting pickiness struck again, the couple sitting next to her were paying the check. BOOM! Bourbon selection has grown significantly! They have most of the top shelf stuff. We settled on house old fashions, which if you want more bite I'd ask for a higher proof bourbon. They use Benchmark which is an excellent pour from Buffalo Trace Distillery but it's a lower proof. If you like a mellower old fashioned then go with the house! Delish! Shishito peppers for an app. 100! So good with the chargrill, freak Parmesan and dipping sauce. We shared (both bartenders recommended) the inside out chicken pot pie and the pork chop. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted outstanding! We passed the plates back and forth and settled on the pork chop being our favorite! Hats off to the Chef! Bartenders = attentive and awesome! I swear as busy as they were, I'm shocked at how fast the food came out! The place had a great buzz as usual and was playing the Orange Bowl....which was a massacre. Sad really. If you are passing by. You have to stop.

Yelp
While looking for a good place to eat in the Chesapeake area, we happened to stumble upon The Barrel Room and I'm so happy we did. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away, since it wasn't crowded at all. Our waiter, Josie, came right over, welcomed us to the restaurant and took our drink order. As I looked over the cocktail menu, I wanted to try the Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita and it was amazing. I am a huge fan of jalapeno/spicy margaritas and it was a 10/10! We then ordered our entrees, I went for the Orange Bourbon Glazed Salmon, substituting the cilantro rice for mashed potatoes, while my boyfriend chose the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. The food came out fairly quickly. The Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich was pretty good. The chicken was fried perfectly but it could've used a little more hot honey for me. The salmon was also good but I did have to add salt and pepper since it lacked a little flavor, same with the mashed potatoes and asparagus but once I added a little seasoning, it was great and I finished the entire plate. Overall, I would return in a heart beat. The night we went, they had live music which was awesome and created a really nice vibe. Josie, our waiter, was great and super personable and the food and drinks were good. Definitely try them out, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
First two times was great. This time, No chef. Had a high school student as head chef with new cooks in training. Waitress had too many tops. 7 I think. Owner, despite the place struggling, was not there to help. Long wait. Ended up leaving without getting our dinner. No offer to discount our drinks despite waiting over an hour before deciding to walk to Mexican. Wry disappointed. We need this place to succeed.

Yelp
Wow, where do I begin. My wife and I came to the Barrel Room as a weekly date night for over a year and a half. Tonight was our first night back since January or December and boy were we disappointed... Our favorite menu item was removed. (Salmon burger). Our favorite appetizer, the ahi tuna nachos, were the worst we have ever gotten. So bland. I got the bourbon street pasta which I have had numerous times, but this time it was hands down the WORST pasta dish I have ever had. Chicken was so over cooked, but the worst part was the amount of seasoning they put in the dish made it almost unpalatable. Our waitress also never asked how any of our ordered items were. Just an utter disappointment.

Yelp
We had a guest from out of town. Gave them several restaurants to choose from and they liked The Barrel Room's menu. We had never been but it was always packed when we went by there to See l Gran Rodeo ( great food and drinks) With reservations at 4:30 the place was pretty empty. Service was just okay. Left us for a minute so we could decide and it was over 10 minutes to get back to us. Ordered 3 drinks. No fish and chips- they opened at noon and at 4:30 they were out.... Two people had Cajun pasta. Mostly ziti noodles. One piece of sausage, three slices of partially cooked red pepper, a few small chunks of chicken and maybe two shrimp cut in three pieces $27!!!. 1/2 pound hamburger was a joke- looked all bun and slider size meat. Swordfish over salted. No veggies like advertised with the meal. $140 before tax. 3 okay drinks, 4 meals . AND ALL FOUR OF US WENT HOME STILL HUNGRY. I was so embarrassed to have taken our guest to such a place. They are considering moving here. I'm sure they will never go here if they do. Lots of people when we left. I have no idea why you would spend your hard earned money here.We will not be going back and will advise others not to either. Only one photo because the food was so lackluster we did not take any others. What the photos are on the website must have been made by management.

Yelp
I've been to the Barrel Room a bunch of times, and I've never been disappointed with the service or the quality of food. Nearly everything on their menu is incredible. Big shout out to the chef and kitchen staff for always having the food taste consistently amazing and getting the food out in a timely manner. This place, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings, can get very busy and I've never had to wait too long for my food. The staff there are also amazing. They all do a fantastic job keeping customers happy, and you never, and I mean never, see them just standing around. They hustle around that restaurant literally all the time and they are always patient with those one-off customers that don't know how to treat people nice. From the hostesses, to the waitresses, to the bartenders...they keep that place running top notch. I would say the only negative issue I have with the Barrell Room is the manager (I think his name is Mike). He seems more interested in conversating with the customers than he does helping the staff, especially when they are slammed. There have been a few times that I've come in and the place was packed, and he would just be mingling with the customers, especially at the bar and the bartenders usually have to walk around him to get the drinks out. The other concern is his management style with the staff. He only hires beautiful young women, which is not necessarily wrong, but it does raise some red flags about his choice of staff. Not a single male has applied to the Barrell Room, ever? I find that hard to believe. There is just something creepy about the way he talks with his staff as well. Almost seems like a power trip as he talks down to them in a very chauvinistic way. I don't even work there and even I'm creeped out by him. I'm sure I'm not the only one that see's that either, as I've overheard some other customers talking about it within an earshot of where I've sat. If he were to leave, that place would flourish more than it already is. They definitely have a staff capable of running that establishment without Mike. Outside of "him", I'm overall happy with all my experiences there. The chef, bartenders and the rest of the staff, really make my time spent there well worth it!!!! The five stars are for the food, the service and the overall ambiance of the restaurant.

Yelp
This was an okay spot, but not my favorite. It's very loud. They have a live singer who is awesome, just very loud. He walks around as he sings classics like Frank Sinatra. The food was pretty good, but nothing wildly special. The drinks were good until we got the bill. They are insanely expensive. If you want to try this little spot, I suggest coming during happy hour times.
google avatar

Lynette J.

Yelp
I love nights when they host Frank Sings Frank best!! My favorite dish is the seafood risotto with scallops. It can get loud and crowded but that goes to show that business is going great.

Yelp
Nestled in a strip mall this lovely restaurant proved to be a true hidden gem! Service was good and the food was even better! I highly recommend the Guinness burger. It comes with your choice of salad or fries. The fries are delicious!! We also observed a smoky old fashioned being made if you're into those and fancy specialty ice cream sandwiches! Only con was parking but a few extra steps never hurt. It wasn't that bad.
google avatar

Yelp
The Good: Parking, location, Live music The Bad: Very Pricey, Very loud, Small. The Ugly: The Cajun pasta had no sauce and was too spicy, I like spicy but it was hard to eat. Fish and chips were decent but the fish was too soggy, no crisp. Drinks were decent and service was good. If I come back it will be for drinks only.

Kathy M.

Yelp
I love this place! The service, the staff, the food are top notch! The bourbon selection is top of the line. The bartenders are super personable and treat you like family. They only use fresh ingredients for the mixed drinks.

Yelp
Tried this place last week and was definitely surprised. The burger had excellent flavor and high quality meat! My husband had a salad which he said was very good. We will definitely be back here again to try some of the other great looking stuff on the menu.

Yelp
We were looking for a different place for a Friday night dinner and decided to try Barrel Room. The service was great. She checked on our drinks and was attentive. The food was pretty good. My husband got the Guinness burger, and it was cooked perfect and tasted great. I got the spinach artichoke dip blue corn chips. I'm GF, and while there was a great selection of salads and 2 seafood based dinners, I stuck with the appetizer. I'm not sure we will come back, though. It wasn't really our scene. The crowd was more of a country bar atmosphere, and we were expecting more of a tasting room based on the prices. Still 4 stars, the food was the price. It may be the place for you!

Lauren H.

Yelp
I went here last night after hearing so many great things about this place. For starters, we ordered the brussel sprouts which were so hard we sent them back. Our waters were never refilled. Then I received the salmon as my entree and all tasted well. I proceeded to spend the rest of my night vomiting from this dinner I had at the barrel room. I will never go back here and would never recommend this to anyone. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!

Joanna H.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place. Unfortunately fell short- well honestly off a cliff. Brussel sprouts raw. Long wait- not an issue- however when food arrived the fries were cold. Waitress was pleasant, however never noticed our empty glasses at all and had long times she disappeared. Was expensive for what we were served.

Yelp
I'm definitely not sure what I was expecting when hubby and I had a date night here a couple of months ago, but this is quite clearly a popular place! The parking lot in front of the restaurant is a fairly small private lot and it was tight maneuvering with the high volume. We got VERY lucky with 2 seats at the bar when the place was wall-to-wall people. We could tell the parties standing/surrounding the bar had been drinking for a while, but they soon left and we enjoyed a peaceful dinner after this. The bartender that helped us offered some great suggestions for beverages (specifically for hubby) and for entrees. She was attentive and prompt throughout our meal. My one disappointment on this visit was with the appetizer rustic bread. It arrived at the same time as our entrees and half of the pieces were burnt on one side. My entree salad had a ton of chicken, veggies were fresh and the portion size was good. The Pork Chop was the star of our meal. Several years ago, when The Egg Bistro was open for dinner, they had a pork chop/apple/boursin dish that was one of our favorites. This meal was as close as we've gotten to enjoying that dish again. Overall, a good experience and the menu was intriguing enough to warrant a return.

Yelp
We have been going to the Barrell Room for a little over a year now and for a long time the food was delicious. The drinks were wonderful and the bartender was great. We go on the average of once every three weeks, primarily because we have an appointment in that area. For the last three visits, we did not even get our food on one visit after waiting 70 minutes and on the other two visits it came out after 40 minutes and was not near as good as it used to be. Each time the bartender who is great, pleaded for us to return again as a customer. We realize things do happen, but for the past nine weeks, the food is not that great and the food service is extraordinarily slow. The one thing that is saving this establishment is the bartender, who does everything in her power to make your experience good. I have tried to call the owner or manager and talk about this rather than posting a review, but they have no interest. So tonight is the first night we are looking for something else in the area.

Yelp
Noms! A new fav! In a nice location with plenty of nearby shops and parking which is alway important to me! It's in a quiet strip and easy to find via GPS. Our server, Jack, was such a sweetheart. He easily accommodated my friend's food allergy and double-checked everything was OK for her in the kitchen. Even coming back to tell us we couldn't get the app we thought we could but suggested a few other things for us. We both chose salads - mine was house and hers was ceasar. Mine had a delicious, house-made apple honey dijon dressing that I loved and when I asked for extra tomato and they forgot, Jack brought me a ton of them. For entrees we both chose the ahi tuna and it was a large and delicious cut of fish, perfectly cooked, served with a spicy honey sauce and wasabi swirled on the bottom of the plate, fish on top, with asparagus and rice. Very good entree size for $28 and service was top-notch! We very much enjoyed it and I plan to bring my husband back soon. Vibes inside are kind'a like a dark classy Western place with Clint Eastwood hanging in the ladies bathroom on the wall. Nice.

Yelp
Great burgers, a little on the pricey side, I ordered the Guinness burger $19. but you get what you pay for! It was delicious, i ate the whole 1/2 pound patty! My gf ordered the seafood risotto, $36. She cleaned her plate as well! Highly recommended! great atmosphere as well! (Nice whiskey selection)

Yelp
We have been going to this restaurant for about the past six months and everything there was amazing. We went there about a month ago, and we waited an hour for our food. Finally, we told the waitress that we needed to leave and she stated that they were having some trouble in the kitchen, we went back again tonight thinking that the last time we were there was a one time thing, but unfortunately, this was not the case. The bartender is always amazing. The drinks are great but again it took us 45 minutes to get our food there was hardly anyone in the restaurant or appetizer came out the same time as our food. The appetizer was hot, but our tuna dinner was cold, we drove 20 minutes to get to the restaurant and it is extremely frustrating to go there and expect a nice meal like we had experienced in the past but were totally let down again. Don't know if we'll be going back.

Viccellio C.

Yelp
I had family in town from Wilmington NC and I had talked about seeing, Frank signs Frank Sinatra. He happened to be having a show at the Barrel Room. I had never been before but wanted them to see Frank, we all 7 ordered something different and we all talked about how good the food was. I had the espresso martinis and the burger. The cocktails were priced good, I hate going to some places and they want to charge crazy prices. Everything was priced good and it was comfortable seating, the staff was really friendly and Frank was the cheery on top.

Yelp
Food was not good at all! My fish tasted like ammonia and the Brussels spouts were not crunchy and tasted more boiled than fried. I was not impressed by the food or the service here. All our 4 dishes ordered left a lot to be desired. Not coming back here for sure!

Yelp
The Barrel Room (TBR) seems the place to be on a Saturday night in Chesapeake! It has such a nice vibe in here. You would never expect it from the outside. Located across the street from Target, in the other strip of business is The Barrel Room (TBR), squished between Ever Jane Boutique and Great Clips. It's all quiet outside and then, you open the door and boom! It comes alive with all the activity in the space. It was pretty packed when we arrived. There was a good wait, but we noticed this beautiful couch by the window that faces out into the whole restaurant. We asked if we could sit there to wait or to eat even. We weren't really there for a full meal. We were just roaming the streets of Chesapeake haha, and had started our evening with Pelican Pete's pizza at Big Ugly Brewing (we can't pass up wood fire pizza) just before. The hostesses were so excited that we even asked. They were like "Yeah! It's the best seat in the house but no one ever wants to sit there!" Well, our lucky day! We were seated immediately and cut the wait time. Our waitress was a DOLL! I just wish I caught her name, but seriously. She was the best! Thanks Girl! I will be on the lookout for her next time we go back. - Sips & Bites - Mocktail - I don't drink, I'm usually the DD. I asked our waitress to just make me something and she did just that and came up with something juicy and refreshing (see pic). Like I said, we had just had a pizza before going to TBR, so we ordered an app and a main to share. Jumbo Shrimps - cooked perfectly with a light, crispy coat. Served with sweet chili sauce. Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich w/fries - the sammie came with chicken, pickles, slaw on a brioche bun. It kind of reminded me of a Nashville style Hot Chicken sammie. The chicken was well cooked, loved the sauce and the fries were nice and crispy. I am not normally one to like dark spaces, I'm more of the tropical, light and bright type of gal, but I dig the space at TBR. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. Just a thought: we saw so many of this one drink being brought to multiple tables. Like I said, I don't drink and my husband was in the mood for beer that night, but it looks like they do specialty whiskey cocktails. It looks very intriguing. The cocktail has a smoking cap, they light it on fire at the table and voila! Smoke starts seeping onto the surface of the drink. Don't you love a show? You might wanna try it and if you do, let me know how you it is because you know your girl can't drink! Stay safe, Friends!

Yelp
Cute little place. Live music. I got the Cesar salad. Good size for $10. I added shrimp. When I got the plate, it was 3 little pieces of shrimp on top of my big salad. Come to find out it's was an additional $13 for the 3 shrimp equaling $23 for this sad salad. I was very disappointed. I totally got ripped off. I could get a huge salad and a big piece of salmon at Maggie Mcflys for this price. When I asked about the quantity, server said it was market price. Do not add shrimp to your salad!!

Yelp
I had a recent reservation to have dinner at the Barrel Room in Chesapeake with a group of friends. The room presence a dim ambience, along with pub seating by the bar for those interested in beer, cocktail, and or wine. The servers were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure that our party of seven was comfortable and well taken care of throughout the evening. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a cozy and rustic decor that makes you feel right at home. For appetizers the shisito peppers and the brussels sprouts were good beginning dishes. The rest of my party all had dishes that they all enjoyed. I particularly enjoyed the ahi tuna with rice and asparagus. They seared mines well enough to taste the flavorful seasoning that covered my ahi tuna. I also tried the ahi with the garden salad. I dipped my ahi with soy sauce and honey mustard dressing.. it was a well needed element that went well with my salad. The sriracha sauce and wasabi aioli complemented the dish. The finale to our meals were dessert! I had to say, I was overjoyed with excitement seeing nightingale's ice cream sandwich on the menu. It is my ultimate favorite ice cream sandwich and my guilty pleasure. I ordered the raspberry donut ice cream sandwich. I was obsessed and couldn't contain myself. I got my girlfriends hooked and they had to order ice cream sandwiches of their own. The $8 ice cream sandwich is mindblowing and a game changer.

Yelp
First time here and the atmosphere. The food! The alcoholic beverages I ordered the Guinness burger and that garlic pepper aioli was on point!!! My husband ordered the tuna nachos....which surprised me. He doesn't eat sushi. But he ordered the seared tuna nachos and actually liked it! It was definitely flavorful! The cocktails were amazing! Get the old fashion! And for $3 more make it smoked!!! They have their own parking area and plenty of room.... however, it does get crowded!

Yelp
Great food great service. Pizzas and burgers are great and much better than your typical bar fare. The whiskey and bourbon selection is incredible and the drinks are incredible. It's one of our favorite spots when we're in the area.

Yelp
Good food, from their appetizer, main up to their desserts. Excellent service, in-spite of we are 8tops our service was very attentive and gave what we needs! I also love the ambiance which is pretty cool! I actually regret forgetting to take picture of it because my friends and I was so buddy catching up!lol But we definitely had a great time and enjoy our experience here!

Yelp
This is a solid for star place. The Paloma I ordered was deceptively strong, which gets no complaints from me. The brussels sprouts were not exactly what I expected. I expected something a bit more crunchy, so I wasn't really happy with them. But I'm sure there are some people that like their brussels sprouts that way. I'm not just not one of them. The burger was good. It was a little overcooked and a little underseasoned, but still pretty juicy. Despite all of that, this place is definitely worth a try.

Yelp
As its name suggests, The Barrel Room is a bourbon themed restaurant, relatively new to the area. Drinks are stiff and prices are decent. The old fashioned is actually made the right way, with one large ice cube. Perfection! For bourbon enthusiasts, they even offer the Buffalo Mule, which is made with Buffalo Trace. I ordered the Princess Peach, which is to die for! Stay thirsty, friends!

Yelp
We made a reservation and told them we were bringing an infant. When we arrived there were no available high chairs so we had to stand around our table with our child and wait for another family to finish their meal. Then they made my spouses drink wrong (added ice to his whiskey) and when he asked for it to be fixed they just took the ice out instead of making him a new drink. They took some time to come take our order but that was fine bc we weren't in a rush, however it took quite a while for our food to come out and my son started to get fussy waiting for so long. Once our food came the portions were all very small (especially considering the price of the dishes!) and my fries were not only cold, but they tasted dry, like day-old reheated fries. My husbands jambalaya dish had very little meat, he counted 1 shrimp and 3 pieces of sausage. Overall the experience was a pretty big let down, especially considering we came in early (5pm) specifically to avoid the bulk of the dinner rush. The price was most definitely not worth the mediocre quality of the food and the mediocre service we received.

Yelp
We always receive Excellent food and service! Cannot recommend enough. Menu is small and select but also with enough variety to please both my husband and I who prefer different options.

Yelp
This is clearly the go to spot for Saturday nights in Chesapeake! I had made reservations for 8 of us for an early dinner at 4pm. When we first got there it was pretty quiet and empty. As the time passed, it became crowded with people. Soon, people were hanging out at the crowded foyer. As a group, we ordered shishito peppers as an appetizer and the grilled brussel sprouts. The shishito peppers although charred pretty well, were underseasoned. Even with the cotija cheese and cilantro lime dressing it seemed bland. The brussel sprouts could have been grilled a bit longer as they were pretty tough to chew. I felt they were also a bit under seasoned, even with the bacon and parmesan cheese. I ordered the salmon seasonal salad. It was amazing! The salmon was cooked to perfection and the salad was fresh and delicious. The swapped out their mustard dressing for balsamic vinaigrette and it was perfect! One of my friends had the seafood risotto and she loved it. Another had their Korean beef and vegetable soup plus their seared ahi tuna; also loved it. Other entrees ordered were: orange bourbon glazed salmon and the barrel burger no bun extra lettuce. Some of us indulged in their sweets: cheesecake, chocolate torte, and nightingale ice cream sandwich. These were a hit. In conclusion, you MUST COME HERE! I am definitley now a regular. I'm planning on bringing hubby here for a date night!

Yelp
So the food and service were great. I do have a few cautionary notes though. So the food and drinks were all wonderful. I highly recommend the Bourbon margarita. We had the steak salad and the pork chops. Both were delicious with large portion sizes. The broccoli that came with the pork chops was perfectly cooked with a bit of char but still not overcooked. The mashed potatoes were delicious. Both the pork chop and the steak for the salad were cooked well without being overdone. We also had the Cookie Monster ice cream sandwich. It was wonderful but I'm glad we split it as it is rich. The wait staff was very attentive and checked back multiple time despite the fact that they were really busy with several large parties. Here are my two "heads up" notes- - The live music was great but it was so loud that conversation was out while the band was playing. - The smoked cocktails are a neat gimmick but don't really have an effect on the cocktails and you will smell like wood smoke after. In other words, it doesn't stick to the drink but it will stick to you. Added note that the prices are very very reasonable. Well worth the price. We will go again.

Yelp
Good pub food, Amazing Bourbon selection. The Bourbon room has been on my list for a while. Parking is pretty easy, though directly out front is hard to get. The inside is bigger than it looks from outside. We were seated by the window, I was sat in a cushy chair that sat a little low, but was really comfy. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich, which was a solid choice. The real reason to come though is the bourbon selection. I was able to taste some Bourbons that I hadn't had the opportunity to before. I had a Widow Jane and a Barrell Seagrass. I Definitely recommend.

Yelp
First time there and it was on point. My friends and I gathered to wish me well on my mission trip to Africa. So glad I chose the Barrel Room. The atmosphere, beverage selection and the food was amazing. My husband and I will definitely make this one of our top date night places. Our waitress, I forget her name but was so sweet and on top of making sure we all weren't lacking in our beverages. She did a party of 15 with ease. Well done!

Yelp
This place is not close to me but we have heard about this place so we came to try. We came at 4pm and that is the magic time. Only few people yet and plenty of seats to choose. There are 7 of us ladies. We had a reservation and that also helps. The front door is just a regular set up but inside is wide with plenty of tables and chairs. It feels homey. No one is sitting in the bar that time. There was a family in the middle with 3 young children who are enjoying their food. We look at the menu and I already know we will be enjoying this place. The choice menus was well thought of. Our waitress came and was just happy to accommodate our group of thinkers. The waitress was quick and efficient and our delicious food came fast. By that time, more people are coming in groups and quickly the bar was filling up. Yet our food was never compromised. The presentation of each food being served was mouth watering. Each one perfect and the serving is large. From the fresh salad to the perfectly cooked salmon and the thickness of the soup. Just lovely. The first taste makes you not want to put down your fork. The balance of ingredients, the amount of herbs, the taste of freshness and the amount per serving equals to a very happy mouth and tummy. The dessert also is the same. Fresh, not too sweet and is very tasty. Even with the influx of people coming in, we had enough time to enjoy it all and still mange to talk to each other. Overall, we enjoy it so much , I plan to bring my family here again.
