I liked it, and the staff was friendly. It was fun playing with and seeing vintage (aka 80s) video games; my kids liked it too. I wish they had Dr. Mario 🕹😮‍💨 Ps. More hand sanitizer maybe 🧤🧫 or giving players rags and cleaning spray to wipe the game stations down 🤔 grown-ups accessed, any thoughts?

I really wish more places like this existed. This is the peak of cheap entertainment. Pay $10 to get in, and have hours of worry free fun. It's so refreshing knowing you get to actually get your money's worth instead of a modern arcade, spending $50 to play cash grab/ gambling games that are over in seconds. By far the most underrated game in this arcade that my friend and I had the most fun with was track and field. Such a simple game that has a really nice learning curve and super competitive. Hockey was a close second place. And the arcade racers in the back were definitely 3rd.

Google
Its a fun place to take your kids. $10 per person to get in, but all the games are free. They have a pretty good selection of old arcade games, and a bunch of pinball machines. They also have pinball tournaments which are fun to watch and participate in.Wednesday nights are only $5 to get in. They lose one star because they got rid of my favorite pinball machine.😅

Google
One cover charge and loads of Pinball and classic videogames are free to play. All machines are in great working order. Loved it. Decent beer selection. My kind of place.

Google
This location is a pay to play at the door. Price varies between $5-10, depending on age or certain days. Every game inside is then free the entire time you are there. They don't really offer food, but do have snacks and some drinks. I recommend eating before coming. The place is rather small and tight, but fun. Do be aware some times are much busier than others. When it is super busy you will find it hard to get much play time in. I also wish they had more ability to sit, especially when busy.

Google
I brought my sister and her family in from DC to visit, she has teens and they absolutely fell in love with this idea. We went the night of free play with door admission and we played for a couple hours. The games are well maintained, everything is clean and functioning, the staff acted as a family, who were just having some friends over. This is a nostalgic blast, and I will suggest it to anyone!

Google
Love this place! Best spot in Concord. Been coming for years because they got me hooked on pinball. $5-10 entry fee and you can play all the games you want! Not good at pinball? You can practice without worrying about losing a dollar every game! Or play any of the other many cool retro games. Good relaxed vibes from the bartenders—treat people like family (likeable family). Solid selection of drinks. They rotate out games and beer options pretty regularly, so always something to come back for. Oh, and they are cool with bringing in food from elsewhere if the vending machine isn’t enough for you.

Google
And I were looking for a place to hang out after dark he loves playing video games and I do too so this was the perfect place they have old and new games it's only $10 to enter in all the games are free! I think we just found a new spot to hang out 😁

Yelp
Basement is a great place to spend an evening-nostalgic pinball, video games, and my personal favorite bubble hockey! Pay a small cover charge and all games are free play...full bar for anyone that is interested too! No food, but that is understandable since you're playing games.
google avatar

Sloan M.

Yelp
I looked up on this place for Google search and man o man, was I happy? This place is for the big kids and the little kids. You play one flat fee of $10 for adults or $5 for children. And you get to play as many games as you'd like, as long as they're open. They had every game from Miss packman to Galaxy to Donkey Kong. All of the games that I grew up on. They also have liquor, beer, wine, soda and water for additional purchase. The staff was great as well.

Yelp
Good number of pinball games and old classics! Tight in there on a Sat afternoon, but that's to be expected. Great times with the boy, we'll be back!

Tim W.

Yelp
Really cool idea to pay homage to the 90s. Add in a full bar and you've got a match made in heaven.
google avatar

Yelp
My grandkids loved this place. (And honestly so did I!!) Loved that it was so affordable and fun! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great concept in the heart of Downtown Concord. Pay one admission fee and play as many video games from the 80s and 90s as you want - what a fun way to spend the day! I lost count of the number of pinball machines but it's in the double digits. Had fun with Centipede, PAC Man, and basketball and football games. They even have done hockey which ones as one of my favorite games from my childhood. Spend an afternoon enjoying 80s/90s nostalgia. Great place to visit by yourself, on a date, or with friends and family.

Yelp
I can't speak for the drinks as I was only there for the games. They didn't have many games at least not compared to other places I've been to but it was $5 on Wednesday for all-you-can-play which is such a deal! Actually I don't remember if it was $5 or $10 - either way a good deal! And no need to bring endless amounts of quarters. The staff was friendly, I didn't have any problems with the customers there and everyone let you have your turn. It was a nice place overall with fun games. For the price, I would definitely be back if I was in the area.

Andyman M.

Yelp
Troy is awesome, his collection of machines always rotates and he keeps all of them in tip-top shape. I appreciate this being a pinball collector myself and I understand how much effort it takes to keep a lot of machines running. I have not been there in a while but I am a huge fan and these guys do a great job!
google avatar

Olivia B.

Yelp
This place was so so much fun and such a cool concept!! It was $10 to play any games we wanted for as long as we wanted without having to spend quarters! It was only $5 for kids under 20, and they had to be out by 8. The atmosphere was very laid-back, there is a nice bar, and the guys working there were great! I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
This is really cool for those of us who remember arcades from the 70's and 80's. I love how this mixes a simple bar with old-fashioned pinball and other arcade machines. Fun and friendly environment. Definitely a good place for a small crowd to meet, however, not for big crowds.
google avatar

Kelly H.

Yelp
Massive amount of old school arcade games with drink holders. They also have a full service bar and clean restroom.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Went here after a date and had a blast! Great arcade games which brought back a lot of fun memories from when I was younger. The place was clean and the employee we spoke with was very nice. We'll definitely be back soon.

Yelp
For a bit of respite during an absolutely grueling day of brewery hopping (he-he-wink-wink) we decided to duck in here and play some games. Size wise - not too big, not too small - could easily get crowded. This place is considered a private club, so you pay a $1 lifetime membership fee and simply check in with your phone number for future visits. The layout is well done - to your right is a small bar that offers liquor drinks and has a variety of craft beers. We had Sycamore tall boys for $6 each. The left wall is mostly pinball machines and the right side arcade games. Pinballs are 50 cents for 3 balls and most arcade games are 25 cents. All the pinball machines appear to be new and the selection is pretty primo - love me some Walking Dead and Batman! Probably the coolest game was this miniature hockey game - kind of like Fussball but hockey - so amazingly fun and fast paced. I was actually surprised how long we played on $10 in quarters!! Pretty cool place!!!

Yelp
Visiting Concord Friday afternoon and managed get in a bit of pinballery. Nice place directly on the beaten path which is great since I'm not from around here. Service bar on the right as you come in, games everywhere else... a dozen or so 50-cent pinballs up the left side before quarter video games take over. More video down the center and a couple more are sideways-ed in on the opposite wall. Also got some bleacher seats in back and a couple hi-tops to lean against and chat away from the games. Bar serves cocktails and beer (both market and local craft) to adults at reasonable prices, minors are restricted to soft drinks and get the boot by 9:00pm. I'm not a big fan of pre-adolescents running around because I have difficulty determining if they are squeaking in terror or delight but arcades like this provide novices a safe place to practice lurking in dimly lit venues on the fringes of polite society.

Yelp
Went here on a date a while back, so much fun! Love all the nostalgic games, especially Street Fighter, Pac-man and of course all the pinball machines. Playful competition to be had and perfect for those you are kids at heart. Great prices too!

Hurricane D.

Yelp
Do not come here unless you have somebody that is 21 or older. Usually when I come in it is fine but today a douchebag told me I couldn't come in despite the fact the website only says 21 plus after 8:00. Despite the fact that there were children inside I was not allowed in nor were my friends who are also extremely disappointed. Would not recommend for anyone under 21 actually attempting to have fun. The guy with the stupid mustache will tell you to leave. If he's not there I would recommend it. Edit ( 4 18 year Olds went at 3pm on a Sunday. For at least the 3rd time. The rule says before 8. No where on the website does it say before 8)
google avatar

Carrie C.

Yelp
This place is a lot of fun! A bit small so I'm sure it could get crowded but we didn't really have to wait for any machines. The newer pinball machines (Stranger Things & Guardians of the Galaxy) were busiest but for good reason because those were a lot of fun. There were also classic arcade games like PAC-Man and Mortal Kombat. Good choice of canned beer. Definitely worth the visit if you're near Concord.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun place after the kids get kicked out. Highly recommend, reminds of of my youth going to the arcade in the mall.
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
Love this place. First time I ever got to play the Ice Cold Beer game. Ended up tracking one down myself! Friendly staff, great beer selection and GREAT PINBALL! Cant recommend enough. Even bought a pinball machine from the owner!

Yelp
Love this place. It was a trip back in time with all the mint conditioned games and atmosphere. I doubt I'll be back to a Dave & Buster's ever again. To get in, that's if you are 21+, you will have to purchase an annual membership. It costs a dollar and you will need to bring your photo ID. Super cool staff; they're responsive to messages on their Facebook page, refunded me money for games that ate my coins, etc. They've got a lot of classic games and pinball machines. Some damn good ones too, like Lord of the Rings pinball and Crazy Taxi. With several quarters to spare, I played some games and it felt like a time travel to 1996 playing Scud Race/Sega Super GT. Games are rotated often, keeping the place fresh. Who knows? Maybe I'll see oddball Sega bike racing games or House of the Dead (which the owner wants to get). Prices for games vary from 25 to 50 cents - not the outrageous dollar or two you'll get charged for in high-tec arcades with those stupid swiping card readers. Anyone with spare change in historic downtown Concord should spend that change here at The Basement Arcade Bar. Love this place. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Worst place to go for a solid chill evening. Staff had terrible attitudes and gave me the worst vibe of most any establishment I've ever been to. Would've felt better giving my money to the homeless guy across the street who at least greeted me nicely. Save your money and go elsewhere.

ChaMarra S.

Yelp
Great place. Lots of fun for the kids. They don't have much in the way of food, but they do have some snacks and sodas, along with a wide variety of adult beverages. The ambiance is quite chill.
google avatar

Joshua K.

Yelp
What a great little find hidden in downtown Concord. If you enjoy classic video games and a nice adult beverage The Basement is somewhere you want to visit. Full service bar on your right when you walk in, massive line of pinball machines all down the left. The rest of the floor in the middle is a mix of all sorts of old (mostly 80's) arcade cabinets. Galaga, Asteroid, Pole Position just to name a few. I think I saw a Mortal Kombat cabinet as well and they have an Area 51 shooter game, a favorite from my childhood as a 90's kid. All the games I tried were either $0.25 or $0.50 and they have coin machines on the floor, though I think you can get coins from the bar if you don't have cash (not 100% on that.) It's nice to play a video game at an arcade and not have to put a whole dollar or more into a machine. This place has a great vibe and its just such a fun little escape. Drop on by for some old school 8-bit fun!
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
This place is a throw back to all the old arcade machines and pinball machines from the 80s and 90s with a few newer machines too. They charge a $10 flat fee for unlimited gameplay. All the machines are on free play so you don't have to worry about bringing money or quarters so that makes it convenient. I really enjoyed all the pinball machines, which quite a few brought back memories for me growing up and playing pinball. All the machines were in good working order. Great place to go if you want to play some retro games or pinball.

Nc S.

Yelp
For a small cover you are able to play any of the games as many times as you want! Drinks are reasonable and they have a full bar. Staff is great, friendly and helpful. Fun for a date night, group gathering, etc. A nod back to the 80's with centipede and pac-man. Huge selection of pinball games. Love this place!

Genene C.

Yelp
How clever is this place? I was looking forward to doing more fun things with my family and here stood this Arcade. It's not often you find a fun place to go to, reasonable prices, good food, and a safe environment. Come on they first introduced me to Kombuchas. I mean Kombuchas, really. I have not been able to stop drinking them ever since. Back to the fun.... Every Arcade game I played after Highschool was there. We appreciated the good service and friendly environment. Yes, we played and had other potential game players in mind. Simply put, totally fun. Hoping to do this again soon.
google avatar

Courtney C.

Yelp
We love visiting this place whenever we are in town! Sad, but understand why they are closed due to COVID. Love their games and it's a great and fun place to hang. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Adrian H.

Yelp
Do you love cold drinks? Do you love arcades? Do you want to feel like you're in 1984? Well if you said yes to all those things and you happen to be in Downtown Concord then the Basement is a must stop. Serving local brews and all the arcade games from the past at the original .25 cents. Its a time machine I hope stays in Concord for years to come.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
This place has a great selection and a wonderful owner. He cares to do what is right even if I disagree with the governments actions. Great place. Hope it continues to serve those in the Concord area for years to come.

Yelp
OOOEMMMMGEEE!!! So so SOOOOO much fun! I went here with my eight year old son last weekend. We had a total blast! He cannot wait to go back. We absolutely LOVED the pinball row! His favorite one was StarWars and I was all about LOTR. It was a super cheap, unique family friendly, fun afternoon. We played for about 40 minutes on just 10 bucks. You definitely cannot do that a D&B, Frankie's or anywhere else that I can think of. The pinball machines were 50 cents and the old school 8 bit games were a quarter! Some of the games in the pictures on the Facebook page are not there anymore. I think they must swap them out. It is a tight space so I can see it being packed on the weekend nights. I would imagine you would have to wait to play machines then. I brought cash, but later found out that they will run your debit card in $5 increments for quarters if need be. We will certainly be going back to this gem!
google avatar

Angelina F.

Yelp
Such a great find. We were greeted as soon as we entered. We signed up for a membership and then moved along to order a beer and quarters. Then the fun began. The wall of pinball machines was impressive... and then we enjoyed the fantastic selection of the other arcade games. We had a wonderful time.. and will definitely be back!
google avatar

Travis P.

Yelp
Very fun place. Consider it to be a man cave in a way. Also in a nice spot in town. A lot of place to venture to

Briannah P.

Yelp
First impressions are everything, I'm hooked. From cover entry to bar service to last call, super simple and legit. Me and boyfriend went on a Friday night after dinner and had a ball. Regenerated our youth. It's definitely a timeless vibe they've managed to encapsulate in a smaller, urban/modern space in the middle of downtown. Great beer and liquor/cocktail choices. There was always a game to play, it is what you make it, make the most of it! Super easy pickup point for our Lyft too.
google avatar

Tanya P.

Yelp
Fun but not too many games. Their shirts are super soft and staff very friendly. I liked the little nook for Ms PAC Man and we played for quite a while.

Christian A.

Yelp
A great place to play some retro games and pinball. Highly recommend. Great staff and game selection.

Jen P.

Yelp
I love this place! They have some awesome pinball machines and a great selection of local beers!
google avatar

Crystal P.

Yelp
My husband found this place and we went for the first time today. He and my 6 year old son LOVED this place! Pinball machines and driving games are 50 cents. Arcade games are 25 cents. Such a deal. $1 membership fee per person per year for anyone over 21 years old. Beer available for purchase, but I'm not sure what else as far as drinks or food since we just played games. We'll definitely be back.

Jason W.

Yelp
Love this place!! I can go there and play the Metallica game non stop. Staff is friendly and the beer selection is on point.
google avatar

H W.

Yelp
Love this place! The machines are treated very well and it's an open and clean environment (unlike other arcades in town). The bartender and staff are lovely, the drinks are great, and I really can't think of anything they could do to improve on what they built. We have so much fun there each time we go. They also have a lot of my Williams favorites - medieval madness, fish tales, and dracula to name a few. I believe I heard someone say these used to all be part of a private collection so I'm thankful he has shared it with the public. Just wish it was closer!
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
$1 yearly membership fee, decently priced drinks, and retro arcade at retro prices. So much fun!! Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Christina T.

Yelp
FAV spot in downtown concord! Drink beer + fun retro arcade games? WHAT COULD BE BETTER? NOTHING. :-) The bartender was extremely awesome and friendly.
google avatar

Cassandra S.

Yelp
Love this place! The staff are so friendly, the atmosphere is low key. Being so close in downtown concord is amazing and I love how it takes me back to my childhood spent in arcades.
google avatar

Timothy C.

Yelp
This is an awesome place for a nostalgic 1980's video game experience. My son and I spent 3 hours on a Saturday night here and had a great time. They have an excellent selection of craft beers and top shelf liquors for your enjoyment as well.

Morgan S.

Yelp
Went here last weekend and had a BLAST! We will definitely be returning. All first timers must pay a $1 membership fee at the door for a year membership. All the games are between 25-50 cents and they have quarter machines so don't worry about bringing your own coins. They have all different types of games from pinball to pacman. I cannot wait to go back!

Raquel F.

Yelp
Always very friendly service at the bar and a great time playing all of the different games. Doesn't break the bank and you can spend hours there on a weekend night having a blast.

S E.

Yelp
Fun place to go for your retro fix. Some of the video games included 3 versions of Pac Man, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Mortal Combat, Galaga, Centipede, Frogger! Pinball machines were also fun. 50 cents for pinball and 25 cents for video games. A glass of chardonnay and a bud light ran 9.00$. Only complaint would be parking was hard to find, but not that big of a deal.

Matt B.

Yelp
If you open at 5pm, I would expect you to be open at 5pm. I drove out of my way to come to your arcade to be met with a closed sign. Totally disappointed.

Greg P.

Yelp
Amazing trip down memory lane, but also a fantastic place to meet friends and grab a drink. Always great local beers and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Went a couple weeks ago for the first time. (Been back twice since) Great atmosphere and great employees. Beer selection has a mix of local favorites and domestics.
