Tried the grilled salmon sandwich. A piece of 🐟 fish in a hamburger 🍔 bun. Nothing else. Cole slaw was ok. Not worth the price. Service was ok. I ordered a hot cider, they were out. I was refunded for the drink. This restaurant doesn't accept Phantom Gourmet gift cards even though this restaurant is listed on the PG website. I don't think the cashier wanted to check. I sent an email to PG about the matter. Wifi and seasonal outside dining available. Update:June through October 2022; I have had Oreo Cookie, Maine Black Bear, Mint Chip, Rum raisin, coconut 🥥, M&M, Heath Bar Crunch, Totally Turtle 🐢 and Toll House Cookie 🍪. My son, chocolate, my friend, she had peppermint and pistachio. 2024;;Rocky Road! 2025; Death ☠️ By Chocolate and Campfire S'mores! I ordered a kid's Mac and Cheese for my daughter. It came with fries but I wished it came with a larger portion of mac and cheese instead of fries. It looked like Kraft Mac and Cheese powdered brand. My daughter devoured it! My son had the fries and he liked them. Extra ⭐ for good 👍 🍦 ice-cream and making my kids happy. All the tasted good, large portions for a small or Kiddie. Sugar cone was no extra charge. Bathroom was in good condition. Baby changing 🚼 table in men's room. Delivery through Door Dash.

This place used to be my second go to place!! But my last meal There was not impressive at all.!! this picture is the so-called fisherman‘s platter!! so just another heads up they put salt and pepper all over the french fries

Yummy! Hits the spot when you’re craving fried seafood. Always consistent in flavor !

Google
Super fast service, clean and organized, good portion size. Food was awesome. I got lobster bisque, my sister got the lobster fish chowder, both were delicious. Fried haddock nugget wrap, fried clams strips, lobster roll, all cooked well. Ice cream sundae, s'mores frappe we're good, the reason for only 4 stars is because of the frappe. They were a bit watery, I've had better.

Google
The Beach Plum Has been a delightful treat of fried seafood. It's a pleasure to go treat ourselves to the best seafood platter. One of our favorite places is closed enough to be a pleasant night out for dinner. I can say enough about the clean place and great food. So, much food enough for two days. Of course a ton of fries. But look at the size of the of the clams, scallops, and shrimp and a big piece of haddock. The tartar sauce is full of flavor.

Michelle Montemorra

Google
It is good. It has gotten more expensive! That was a shock. No frills place. Honestly, I wish that they had more baked options. I am thankful that they have bread bowls for the chowder. Why they couldn't and didn't make it in Salem, NH at the Tuscan Village is beyond me. Today was a bit festive. There was a man having a birthday celebration and we heard lots of people singing "Happy birthday!"

Google
Food is always great. Good variety, something for everyone. I don't like seafood but some family members do so it's a good place for everyone. I love their chicken and fries. My mom and grandmother love the different seafood and lobster rolls, especially. It does get loud in there, very echoey, so if you have hearing aids that might be an issue for dining in.

Google
This salad with strawberry and pecans and a scoop of lobster on top was amazing. My spouse was so mad it made his lobster roll look tiny.

Yelp
I drive up to Hampton not for the beach, but to grab a giant lobster roll from The Beach Plum! The portion is huge and honestly reasonably priced compared to Boston. The ice cream is also very generous - I got a small and it was definitely more than enough for two people. You can't beat the views of the ocean and summer sunsets here. It's a little hard to find parking as it's apart of the beach, but definitely worth it when you can find a spot.

Yelp
Not sure where to turn as I write this comment about the Beach Plumb in Epping, not for its food because we like it. For several months the pads for handicap access when entering and exiting the front double doors have been broken. On three occasions I mentioned the problem to staff who were polite but the message to have the repairs made never happened. A month ago I called and spoke to an assistant manager who promised to look in to the matter; we decided to visit to see if the problem was remedied; it wasn't and I struggled to get my wife in the restaurant in her wheelchair. I know others have experienced similar problems, so I'm urging anyone with a mobility issue to avoid this restaurant. Accessibility is not on their menu.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
I've been to this location a few times, the food has never been an issue but honesty has been. Check your receipts! I've been a customer for over 10 years, and in the last year they manipulated my tip and decided to tip themselves more than I entered on my order. Took me nearly 2 weeks to resolve, the manager was NOT kind nor apologetic but a bit combative. Not something I've ever expected or encountered in a local business I enjoy.

Yelp
I stopped into the beach plum early this afternoon, really wanting some good fish and chips. When I was placing my order, I had asked a couple of questions, but I had asked the young man if the fish was fresh or frozen and his reply was it fresh after he conferred with a fellow employee so I ordered the fish and chips and to my shock it was the most disgusting fish I had ever had. Number one it was frozen fish, not fresh number two. It was the toughest and most disgusting taste I had ever had. The young lady came outside and I had called her over and asked her again and she reassured me. It was fresh and I told her it is not it is frozen and it is disgusting so she didn't even take the plate back. She just asked me for my credit card in which I paid and refunded me the money for the meal I had also ordered the clam chowder and that's probably taken from a can and heat it up. I will never in all my days never ever return to that place again I would advise the same

Yelp
What happened to these folks?! Been here a hundred times! Went in, no Lobster! Really you are known for it, price too high let your customers make their decision. Fries used to be good now they are using frozen fries. Probably last visit until something changes! Horrible experience .

Yelp
Great food very fresh coconut shrimp families are here eating clean tables views of stores across the way

Yelp
Need a less casual dress code. Gloves/ proper food handling and education on cross contamination. Got very sick twice from the chicken tenders

Jose M.

Yelp
I get the 3 stars on Yelp now. Ordered the 6 oz lobster. It was bland. The butter added no flavor. The clam chowder was okay. The only thing that had flavor was the onion rings. I was pretty excited to eat here but.... So disappointing. Not worth $$$
google avatar

Brendan B.

Yelp
We ordered take out from here 6/3/2024. I got the Haddock pint side order for $18.99. When I got home and opened it, I was amazed and how much of a rip off this was. Our kids got the Haddock basket and that was so minuscule, I had to give the kids most of my Haddock nuggets side to fill their bellies. Mind you they're 3 and 6 years old. To say that I won't be going back to any of The Beach Plum locations is an understatement. I've been eating seafood in New England my entire life and have never been to a seafood restaurant that served up such a minuscule amount of main course, than this place. My wife ordered the lobster roll and it didn't even fill the regular sized hot dog bun. Do yourself a favor, keep driving down 101 and find the real seafood restaurants along the seacoast that will serve you what you're paying for.
google avatar

Kathy L.

Yelp
We enjoyed the huge menu selection here! The portions are for ice cream and burger are massive. The lobster claws here are delicious, and the seasonings are less bland than most places you get food up here in New England. We eventually got their lobster rolls Connecticut style since they seem to be the only ones who do it with the warm butter but it does cost a pretty penny. Service is standard. You order, sit down, and someone will bring your food with your order number. Seating is spacious and clean.
google avatar

Rhonda L.

Yelp
Went there twice during a recent New England trip. Only place worth going for lobster rolls. Enjoyed the outside seating. I think the fact I went twice says it all.

Carol F.

Yelp
Stopped in our way by because we had heard good things. Often I don't trust reviews because I am pretty fussy about seafood. Grew up by the ocean in Massachusetts so use to really good seafood from Essex, Ipswich and Gloucester. Really glad we stopped. Service good. Food was very good. Price a bit high but price of seafood is up everywhere.

Ember J.

Yelp
I had fried shrimp and a small ice cream (which was 2 scoops). Both were made timely, staff was friendly and both were yummy. Had it twice in 5 days!!!

Braydan B.

Yelp
Good Place To Go For Seafood!! Their portions are a great size and has been a local favorite for years!!!

Yelp
I lovvvvvve beach plum !! Today we had The Big Catch aka haddock sandwich, it was soooo good , hot and fresh ! The fries were nice and crispy and a good pair with the tartar sauce too ! Can't wait to go back !

Yelp
Stopped by The Beach Plum after work today and ordered the clam strip dinner with fries and Cole slaw. Got a Frappe and sat myself by the wall near the door. At first glance this place does feel very beachy, open floors, outdoor seating and a very family/group friendly vibe. I was a little disappointed in the lack of couple or single person seating, I kind of felt out of place eating alone here, like I was taking up space since most of the tables were for 4+ people. The staff was friendly and brought the food out very quickly. The portion was very big for a pretty fair price and the clam strips were crispy on the outside with perfect chunks of clam in the middle, absolutely perfect. The fries were just right and the coleslaw was the ideal amount of sweet and savory. I'd say this is a great spot to take your family or stop by with your friend to have a drink and chat, not so much for the loner type like me but hey snag something to go because I can confidently say those were the best clam strips outside of York Beach Maine I've had to date.
google avatar

Yelp
my boyfriend and i really love this spot! i got the clam chowder last week and it was so creamy and good! the person working the register was very friendly too
google avatar

Corinne R.

Yelp
My first lobster roll...$23 for a roll the size of a (small) dawg. Prob 6 chunks of lobster meat and a bag of chips. Felt robbed. Didn't taste anything special, wouldn't come back. Also got a small death by chocolate with hot fudge, which was big, but not super chocolatey. Overall, not worth the price. I wanna try to make lobster rolls as home better.

Chris S.

Yelp
I got the fish chowder and it was one of the worst fish chowder i have ever consumed!! It tasted like it was made from dried old fish and was very salty! And their prices are outrageous for the quality they are putting out!!
google avatar

LYNNE S.

Yelp
The 3 way fried combo was very disappointing. The scallops were dark and over cooked. I think the oil was too old. I usually love this place.

Yelp
Went to the Beach Plum in Raymond on 4/22/24 and spent $161 to go, wanted to eat in the car with my wife. First off, the staff was way too young to be serving pricey seafood. Example, no clue what fried butterfly shrimp was. It was more important they got the ice-cream orders out, not the pricey seafood. I ordered 2 8oz lobster rolls and what was suppose to be a small pints of clam, shrimp and scallop. The dude ordered me baskets. Had to wait and pay another $11 for the pints, order up to $172. The clams were excellent, the shrimp was mediocre and not butterfly and the scallops were on the not well portioned side but tasty. My big complaint was the lobster rolls. I asked for light mayo and drizzled with drawn butter. Classic New England lobster roll in my opinion. Came out with cold refrigerated lobster, mayo on the bottom of the roll and no drawn drizzled butter and the lobster contained no tail meet. For $76+ for lobster you think tail meat was involved. NOPE! What lobster they gave us was well portioned but we did pay for it. We took it home and made a real lobster roll. To bad, this place has potential but inexperienced staff, just bad making of lobster rolls put this at a very low score.

Yelp
First visit 9/10/2022 ... A most convenient location, just off rt.101. A very efficient, diligent and energetic staff kept things humming! The lobster roll was outstanding. I highly recommend this location. The haddock sandwich looked very tempting as well.
google avatar

Patricia M.

Yelp
The lobster roll was adequate and the French fries delicious! The service was good and the ambiance what you would expect from a beach restaurant.
google avatar

Kary B.

Yelp
Delicious food and ice cream! Lots of flavors and variety. Can be crowded at times but well worth the wait!
google avatar

Fred L.

Yelp
The place is VERY EXPENSIVE in my opinion and the benches are downright uncomfortable. Aside from that I have never had a bad meal here. The scallops are sweet and cooked just right. The French fries when requested well done are crunchy and perfect. My daughter loves the double hamburger and it is typically not cooked to temp and on the verge of hockey puck status but she is a beef eater and will inhale it before I get a chance to ask if she wants me to have them remake it pinker. They have over 50 flavors to make shakes with. They are expensive as well, cheaper at most ice cream places and a bigger size in my opinion. Even with the price being higher they are very good and a must have. They run deals on a regular basis with their gift cards. If you spend X you get x free. Even if you purchase they for yourself this can help to lower the real cost of your meal since you are getting "free money." They have a very large parking lot and the issue with waiting for a table during peak dining times is a real issue when it is cold and the outside tables are not feasible.

Yelp
Classic seafood offerings done well. We always loved to stop on a summer beach day so having a location in Epping makes it easier for a year round fix. Lobster rolls are simple and perfect- no fillers like celery or lettuce just pure delicious lobster on a buttery roll. Fried clams are light and crispy as well. I don't particularly care for the onion rings as the batter falls off and you are just left with on onion- this is a matter of preference though because my husband loves them. I would rather a thick battered onion ring so I am not left with just a strand of onion and shards of batter. Either way, we come for the seafood and that cannot be beat, it is delicious and done well!
google avatar

Shelby W.

Yelp
Always the freshest seafood- the milkshakes and ice cream are also pretty amazing. Try ordering ahead as they always seem to be busy!
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
we live nearby and only go if everything else is closed and even then will only order the soup... Sorry to say the flavors are not good. The fried food is overly fried and often cold, and the crabcakes are dry and the flavor of us... How these people stay open is beyond me... I suppose their reputation for lobster roll is what does it as far as out of towners... But honestly even that isn't good...prices are not good either! I really want to to love this place because it's open so late but it's always a big disappointment
google avatar

Yelp
A few hours earlier I'd been to Brown's on the seacoast and had their lobster roll, and to say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. In fact, I was still hungry afterward! So on the way home I spontaneously stopped here to try a Beach Plum lobster roll. Night and day difference! Brown's lobster was completely flavorless; Beach Plum's was briny and sweet. The 8 ounce roll was packed with meat, had just the right amount of mayo, and the roll was toasted perfectly. A real treat, highly recommended!
google avatar

Rick F.

Yelp
Very disappointed with my clam dinner it was supposed to be while belly clams but I must of gotten the " I'm on a diet belly clams" Now if I was a french fry guy I'd say that was the best dinner i had. But the price for what they give is not worth it. Sorry not coming back
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
Only got dessert here. The line was long but moved quickly. I wanted to try their lobster roll, but didn't get the chance to. Fun place right across from the beach to get an ice cream cone.

Yelp
After picking up my son from his job at a summer camp, we decided to stop for lunch having heard about this place on The Phantom Gourmet. It was a bit of a strange location and somewhat hard to find as it's located within an outdoor shopping center. Upon entering we immediately noticed that this has to be one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever seen. The layout is reminiscent of a Cape Cod tourist restaurant (think Seafood Sam's.) I ordered the Clam Belly Basket and my son ordered the Fried Haddock Basket. Both were solid, thought not stellar. The clams were solid, the onion rings decent, the fries were spicy, but could have been crisper. Outside the restaurant, there are a good number of picnic tables with umbrellas and we chose one of these to enjoy our lunch al fresco. Overall, I would say The Beach Plum serves decent seafood albeit a bit on the pricey side.

James W.

Yelp
This place is consistenly great! Great food and great sevice! Never had a bad meal and the staff is always so nice. They clean regularly as well!
google avatar

Denise G.

Yelp
I shared a fisherman's platter on my birthday. It was quite delicious, generous portions, and reasonably priced . This is a good place to grab a bite before or after a movie too. I enjoy the outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

Yelp
Spent thousands here over the past few years. Not anymore after recent events. The second time now getting a broken off piece of toothpick inside a salmon sandwich and I almost choked on it when eating. I called up to let the restaurant know about what had happened and the fact that the toothpicks aren't necessary especially in takeout on a sandwich that isn't going to fall over inside a container. The manager on duty knew my order right away and the fact that I was a regular and said they'd love to be able to help me out like they have in the past whenever there was a problem, but now they'd get in trouble if they gave me any kind of credit/refund/replacement/etc.. so they had Lorraine, Director of Marketing contact me to handle the situation. That didn't really sit well with me that Beach Plum doesn't enable their managers to handle problems on site, but what choice did I have? She called the next day and then we emailed back and forth. I explained what happened and she said she would send "a couple $5 gift cards". No apology for what had occurred, just an explanation of why they put toothpicks in the sandwiches and that she'd send the gift cards. Again... I figured OK fine, that's a bit odd to not start things off with an apology when one of your customers almost chokes on a mistake at your restaurant but hey... at least she's responding. The sandwich was $12 so I thought I'd get at least 3 $5 gift cards ($15 total) sent to us to make up for the cost of the meal and something extra to make up for the inconvenience of almost choking on a broken toothpick. When everything arrived a few days later, I found that she only sent two $5 coupons and that I could only use 1 at a time... the cost of the meal wasn't even made whole with these coupons and it meant that I had to visit twice and spend more money to "save" money. I contacted Lorraine again through email to let her know that I was confused and disappointed by the lackluster effort to make this situation right and that I was hoping she could respond back -- she never responded back. It's been about 3 weeks now. I contacted the Beach Plum website and explained what happened. I never heard back. It's been about 2 weeks now. I contacted Lorraine AGAIN about a week ago -- still nothing. Goodbye Beach Plum. I've got $8 left on a gift card and will most likely just give it away to someone in the restaurant one of these days along with the 2 $5 coupons. I'll go eat at Newick's from now on where I don't have to worry about eating broken off pieces of toothpick.
google avatar

Tamera R.

Yelp
Wanted a light lunch so opted for the 4 oz lobster roll for take out. Came home and opened the box to discover a ridiculously small sandwich. Decided to weigh it to see exactly how much lobster was there. 1.8oz!! For $17??!! Are you kidding me? I've been a faithful customer but this night be the end of it for me. Apparently, when you order a 4,6,8,10 oz lobster roll that is the weight of the entire roll
google avatar

Ally O.

Yelp
I have eaten at the Portsmouth location several times (last time about a year ago) and was always impressed with the portion size of the lobster roll. But the other day I got the medium one and WHAT A JOKE. The meat was skimpy, and I ate the whole thing in a few unsatisfactory bites ...and was left still feeling hungry. So not worth the almost $30. What a rip.
google avatar

JG L.

Yelp
Went here a few weeks ago, craving haddock. Everything was clean, well run and the orders came out quickly, hot, and fresh. Staff was very positive even though they were so busy. We were able to sit inside. Clam strips were delicious, and not tiny Haddock was a really good sized serving, with fries and cole slaw. The fish was fresh, flaky and yummy. The batter is really good. Not a fan of the cole slaw Fries were typical fries but also good One diner with us had a double cheeseburger and he really liked it. Spent over $50 so we got a free pint of ice cream when we left and I didn't have any but my son thought it was really good. All in all a wonderful dining experience and we will continue to go here. It's so much easier than going to the beach.

Lisa J.

Yelp
This is the second time I have been there and both times I ordered whole belly clams and got clam strips with little tiny bellies, both times I paid the price for whole belly clams and they were the tiniest clams I have ever eaten. Very expensive for thinking you're getting whole belly clams and you get dried up clam strips. Never again will I go to the Epping location.

Yelp
We're fans. Lobster isn't cheap but that's just generally true for most places. It's quite fresh and is my go to spot for lobster rolls. Buy the $100 gift cards - they come with $25 extra to spend.

Cooper O.

Yelp
Very nice place to go nice atmosphere very clean service all very polite and helpful fast service very good food would definitely go back highly recommend and prices are very reasonable

HV G.

Yelp
Paid $60 plus tax for two of the the 6 oz. lobster rolls that only had 4 oz. of meat in it, each. And then pid another 8 for an upgrade to fries , rather than the small bag of chips. At least I got filled up by the fries. This was my first experience with the BP and I'm sad to say I'm disappointed.
google avatar

Laura A.

Yelp
I go to the Beach Plum about once every three visits to New Hampshire. It's conveniently located off of I-101. The clams, fries, and lobsters rolls are reliably yummy. The wait staff is friendly. I haven't tried the ice cream yet--maybe next time! They also have a good selection of beverages. It's a family-friendly restaurant with very high ceilings indoors and picnic tables indoors and out. It's always busy, but we never wait long for out food.
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
First time, came for the lobster roll which was the best part of the meal. Except for the bun which was tasty but cold. Everything was pretty much called the onion rings, the french fries not cooked to order. Really no excuse for that considering we were waiting for the food ordered at the counter. The lobster in the roll was delicious as advertised but perhaps not worth a return trip given the condition of the fried side orders.

Yelp
The Beach Plum is now open year round in Epping, away from the "beach" at Brickyard Square, just off NH 101 Exit 7. The anticipated opening of their third location was posted on their website and on Facebook for December 23, 2015. They were selling their gift cards in a nearby temporary space during the construction. The gift cards are 25 percent off during their sale through the holidays. The Epping Beach Plum officially opened for business at 4pm today. I've been stopping at the original Beach Plum location (seasonal) across from North Hampton beach and the Portsmouth Beach Plum (open year round), for great ice cream, chowder, fried seafood, and good sized lobster rolls. The Beach Plum has also won the Best of NH honors for the best lobster roll. Similar to The Beach Plum in Portsmouth, this location is also open year round with indoor counter service and finished picnic table seating. Like the other locations, the menu offerings here include lobster rolls (reg or footlong), subs, wraps, sandwiches, footlong hot dogs, seafood dinners, salads, chowder, chili, lobster bisque, Coke beverages (self serve fountain), and around 78 flavors of premium ice cream & frozen yogurt. Beer (8 on tap) & wine available too. I stopped in here for dinner takeout today and the place was not mobbed, unlike the packed and gridlocked parking lot outside during the busy holiday shopping season. There were plenty of staff on hand in the kitchen area, mostly younger workers. I usually order a"beach style" Lobster Roll with a bag of Wachusett potato chips and clam chowder. However on this visit, I ordered the Haddock Sandwich ($9.99) with fries and a Small Sundae ($5.99) totaling $17.42 without drinks. The Haddock Sandwich had lightly breaded and deep fried haddock with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce on a soft Kaiser bun. The fries were hot and crispy. The food was a bit greasy, but tasty, which counts in my book. The Sundae was the right size with a scoop of hard coffee Kahlua brownie ice cream (my choice), hot fudge, whipped cream, nuts, and cherry on top. I used my "discounted" Beach Plum gift card to pay for the order, though being very new, their system could not read it. They accepted it and value will be deducted later when things are running. I enjoyed my fried fish sandwich and fries and my hot fudge sundae during "non beach" weather at the new Beach Plum in Epping.

Taylor M.

Yelp
Very crowded even with outdoor seating open and a little pricey but the food was delicious.

Joe C.

Yelp
Food is great here. Lobster roll is delicious so my wife says. I had fried clams, the best I have ever had is here. Batter is light and portions ore large. Would recommend to everyone.

Michele O.

Yelp
I have always been happy with the food at the Beach Plum (Epping) but not tonight. My mother and I ordered a 2 way combo which was scallops and clam strips which was $29.99. We got 7 small scallops and the clam strips were tough and the fries were not done. Very disappointing and I can say I will not be going back to the Epping location. I also used the remaining of my gift card and the cashier had no idea how to use it and when she got help she said there was no money on the card. I checked the card that morning and I know there was money. She said let me check again and now there was money. Very frustrating!

Yelp
The prices here for some items are reasonable. However, If your looking for seafood its expensive for just average food. I was very disappointed when I bought fish plate and clams were tiny. Seek seafood elsewhere honestly.
