The Beacon Review - The Hamptons - New York - The Infatuation

"With restaurants coming and going quicker than a Jitney round-trip, there aren’t many spots in the Hamptons that can say they’ve been around for over 20 years. But The Beacon has been a Sag staple since 1999, thanks to its consistently good food and great views of the Sag Harbor Bay. Come for $75 two-course sunset dinners or hop over to their sister restaurant, , for year-round waterfront fine dining. " - Team Infatuation

We’re celebrating our 40th anniversary, and our server Josie made it extra special with a lovely card and a flower in my champagne flute. The view is amazing as well as the food. A great way to celebrate such a big milestone!

Google
Willa was a fantastic server. She was knowledgeable about the food and what would go good with what drink. She was able to accommodate our requests and was super friendly. I highly recommend this place. The one thing that could be improved upon is that some of the seating is in a common area where the building tours have to walk by. Tourists generally have no sense of volume control. It can be slightly disrupting for a romantic dinner, but other than that, everything was perfect. We will be back!

Google
It's okay! I wouldn't go back. I think if you're looking for beautiful views overlooking Boston, you cannot get much better. If you are looking for 5-star food, there's better options. We had lunch on a Sunday, and the service was fine. Changes or tweaks to cocktails were not accepted, which is whatever. Surprisingly very few sauces or dip offerings for burgers, wings, etc. The limited menu would make you think this is a fairly upscale eating experience, but the food isn't worth going back for especially the price you pay. Mimosa flight and espresso martini flights are expensive for how little of each cocktail you receive. Additionally, pour consistency is an issue as each martini was a completely different level. When you're paying $40 for a flight and $40 for an entree, I'd expect more especially with all the limits, restrictions and lack of offerings.

Google
I am absolutely shocked that our food was incredible, we were expecting a mediocre meal just based on the scenario but our food was delicious. Highly recommend the fried goat cheese balls, lobster Mac & cheese, and lobster roll. Also feel $99 for The View ticket, 2 drinks, appetizer, and main dish with tip was an amazing deal! Service was good, only critique is the music did not match the vibe (today’s hits were playing). Our table was not near the windows but since we enjoyed the view beforehand, we were fine with this. Recommend for tourists, and locals!

Google
I didn’t realize I had to buy a ticket to View Boston at first when I chose to eat here but it was well worth it and a great overall experience. The lobster roll and orange mimosa were sooo tasty, though a bit of shell in the lobster roll. Manager handled a mix up very well and compensated appropriately. Will be back if I’m in Boston again!

Great views, comfy spacious seating, slow pace, ample portions, excellent taste, friendly service. Highly recommend, especially the Non-Spirit Dining experience (includes admission to The View)!

Google
Very nice restaurant at a special and exciting location, at the top of the Prudential tower, with beautiful panoramic views of the greater Boston area. Celebratory atmosphere, especially on weekends. It's very pleasant to dine here as part of a special occasion. The food was interesting and good, but not great since the options were limited. We don't like goat cheese, especially deep fried. The beef was soft and tasty but greasy, gave me heartburn. The cocktails were good but too sweet. It was fun to see the bartenders in the open bar. The service was very good, the staff is professional and friendly. But not 5 stars because of the high prices, about $80 per person for a full meal, in addition to $25 pp to get to that floor. The food was not so exceptional to justify the price, but again- the main attraction is the special location. By the way, parking in the Prudential garage on a Friday evening cost us $46 (Ouch), you may wanna look for more reasonable options. Good experience overall 👌

Yelp
Josie provided wonderful service. She was friendly, relaxed and kind. Food was delicious. Ambiance was simple, windows were clean. I know I came casually dressed and it is a Tuesday night, but I miss The Top of the Hub because there was an expected dress code. It was a special occasion-type of place. And we weren't charged just to go up. Also it now feels like a major tourist trap, like I'm about to embark on a roller coaster ride at Disney. Not nearly as classy. Maybe it's just a different world now.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a birthday and we ended up getting the brunch deal that was offered on their website which was 59 before taxes and tip, which included a drink of choice and 1 food item of their brunch menu and us 4 was very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, we had ordered the lobster Benedict, lobster roll, and smashed burger and there was nothing bad to say about those items. The view was perfect because it was a sunny day out and also the deal allowed full access to the view of Boston which you would have to pay anyway if you wanted to check it out so for the deal, it was perfect ! We might go back next time to try their dinner and possibly would just sit at the bar because it was a very nice bar area also. Overall we really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Came for dinner while in town with my son. Food came out super fast which I appreciate. They offered my son a kids menu, even though he's a tween. He was happy about that. We shared calamari. My only complaint is that it was more cherry peppers than actual calamari. You really can't beat the view.

Yelp
Had a reservation with the view package, which was a good deal. We were seated promptly and it seemed to be a quiet day that we went. It was a good spot to socialize and catch up with friends. The waiter was attentive and we didn't wait long for our food. Food quality was on point. Thank you !

Yelp
Located on the top of the Prudential Center. We had reservations for my daughter's birthday. We visited View Boston then headed to our 8pm dinner reservation. It's a nice restaurant with awesome views. Too bad we didn't get a window seat! We had to wait to be seated despite having a reservation, so seated about 7 minutes after our reservation time. Our waiter of the evening wasn't very hospitable or friendly. Didn't really engage with us. Never delivered my Pepsi or hubs drink. I had to ask for them again before he brought them with no apology whatsoever! My mixed drink was disgusting. Lobster roll was the best meal at the table. I got it hot with butter. The clam chowder wasn't the best I had while in Boston. And hubs short ribs lacked flavor. Like they needed salt. I thought they'd at least do a birthday dessert like I saw other tables do however I guess not.

Yelp
Second time here ... and another FIVE stars!!! I just celebrated my son's FIRST Birthday here and despite us being very late for our reservation, everyone was extremely accommodating and friendly. We did the "Savor the Skyline" special again (featured on Open Table), which I still believe is the best value for visiting this restaurant and The View. Still unsure why this place has such poor to mediocre reviews. It's definitely underrated if you ask me. Does it have the best food in the city ... no, but it's decent. What it lacks in food it definitely gains with service and ambiance. The views are amazing and the experience is super fun. This place "seems" uppity, but both times I've been here, the service has been absolutely superb ... especially to a family with a baby. Also, as a side note, both times we've been here, we've always had wonderful conversations with other people enjoying the restaurant, making it extra fun. I 100% recommend this place if you want something fun to do or have people visiting from out of town. Would suggest doing one of the "experiences" on Open Table though, as this place could be kind of pricey if you also have to buy a ticket to The View (which is included in the experiences).

Yelp
The Beacon Bistro at the top of the Pru is a fun little adventure. It features some fun drinks, small plates, apps, and a few entrees. We just came for a beverage and apps. The buffalo wings (ordered GF) were decent even if a bit skimpy on the vegetables. The flatbread, recommended by the server, was excellent with a fig jam, goat cheese, and prosciutto. The service was prompt and pleasant. It's a nice oasis from the hustle and bustle of View Boston on the floors above. The view is still excellent. Pricing by itself is a bit high, but corresponding to the altitude and environment.

Yelp
While the views drew me in initially, their irresistible goat cheese fritters keep me coming back. Together, these culinary delights transform my experience into a feast for both the eyes and palate.

Yelp
Great deal when you buy the package deal to go to the View Boston before dinner. We were able to choose one appetizer or salad, one entree, and two drinks. The portions were very good. The appetizers were the best part. The charcuterie board was perfection. The calamari was very good. I had the lobster Mac and cheese. The cheese was a bit too much, but some like that. The service was phenomenal, we had a wonderful time.

Yelp
Great value for the opentable lunch experience. We paid $47 pp for access to the view and a lunch with a non-alcoholic drink and appetizer per person included. The lobster roll was solid, mobster could've been fresher but was cooked perfectly. The wait staff was exceptional and the view, even on a gray day, was fantastic. The lunch special made the meal feel appropriately priced, but I can understand how those who paid full price might have felt the quality didn't meet expectations. 1. Burratta caprese - 4/5 2. Lobster roll - 4/5 3. Burger - 3/5 4. Bignettes - 4/5

Yelp
The meal was fantastic, and the service from Ramón and his team was outstanding--highly recommend!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my dinner at the beacon. I did the dinner package and it was perfect for a special occasion / celebration. The restaurant is beautiful with crazy good views and incredible service. For food - The appetizer I got was pretty rough (Caesar salad) so I wouldn't recommend that choice. My entree was the lobster roll which was pretty yummy. The preparation options were either warm with butter or cold with mayo. I'm not sure why cold with butter wasn't an option. My dessert was the sorbet and it was incredible! For drinks - my 2 cocktails were also incredible. I got the strawberry lemonade drip martini and the pru-tini. It's hard to pick a favorite because both were so good! Overall I think the dinner package at the beacon was worth it.

Yelp
We were visiting Boston from San Francisco. We purchased the Savor the Skyline package for our party of 10. The package included admission to The View, a non-alcoholic beverage and one of the following: appetizer, salad or sandwich. Our waitress, Roberta, was friendly. However, the service was a bit slow. It took a while to get our drinks and food. The ambience was great; beautiful view.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Ramon was super helpful! My friend and I had a great experience. It was very cute inside and the overall great atmosphere
google avatar

Yelp
Ramon was a wonderful courteous server! very pleasant and professional! The View was spectacular! The food yummy, especially the shrimp cocktail! And the surprise Birthday cake at the end with the candle! Thank you for a great experience! we are back on Easter Sunday but also for my son's 24th Birthday on 4/20 and we can't wait!!!!

Yelp
Went here for my sister's birthday! The service and view are worth it for the Bistro bites bundle! Shoutouts to Willa! She hooked us up with great service

Yelp
Josie was a great server and everyone loved the view and their food. Menu was small but really solid food

Joe S.

Yelp
Good simple food. Very nice service from Josie. Unrelentingly beautiful view. Enjoyed the new England lobster roll

Richard M.

Yelp
Service was excellent. We had Ramon as our service. He was wonderful! We began with the View of Boston and finished off at the Beacon. Recommend it for all.

Rich A.

Yelp
The views were expected, and did not disappoint even on an overcast day. The food was incredible, the lobster Benedict was perfect and the chicken and waffles were among the best we've had. Service was amazing and attentive without being disruptive. Definitely a spot worthy of a special occasion!!

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Josie R was our server. She was very knowledgeable and catered to our needs. She was kind and answered all of our questions and made suggestions for what to get for food. We sat near the windows and had a beautiful view. Would def recommend!
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
The View is amazing but just like previous restaurant, they focus to much on that. And not enough on cleanliness. Also the management is poor, the bartender was getting slammed. And the manger just stood there. The management needs to support the staff, they want tourists bucks but not ready to receive. Let alone help with clean the bar or tables. People were waiting and there was a lot of tables that needed to be bussed. Luckily this is Back Bay and there are plenty of restaurants.
google avatar

Eva G.

Yelp
I made a reservation last minute on open table and I wasn't disappointed. You have to make reservations and pay $35 plus taxes and 18%. This Included experiencing the views ( go early) , a choice of a handheld, sharable or salad for your meal and non alcoholic drink. I must say, it was totally well worth it. Tyler was my server and she was kind, friendly and attentive. I chose the NEW ENGLAND LOBSTER ROLL I also chose the warm option, toasted split top bun. At the end my bill was $0 and the tip ( 18%) was already included in my reservation for her. Highly recommend the experience!!!

Mary E.

Yelp
Josie was our waitress and was very attentive. she and the manager handled an incident with a customer with professionalism and discretion.

Paige G.

Yelp
Willa was awesome!!! Dinner was great and, of course, incredible views! Great way to spend a night in Boston!

Yelp
I really enjoyed coming to Boston and The View. walked into The Beacon and enjoyed the smash burger with an awesome view there too. Thank you for the great service Josie

Guy M.

Yelp
Ramon was kind and really funny. made the hole experience really fun. His recommendations on the food were amazing and everyone was really pleased

Jordan P.

Yelp
The food was great, the lobster Mac is undoubtedly some of the best I've come across, the ambiance with the skyline in the background is very neat and settling, and our server Josie went above and beyond, she was very attentive and knowledgeable the entire evening!

Ke C.

Yelp
We enjoyed our time at The Beacon! The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, and the service was excellent. It was such a pleasure having Willa serve our table--she was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. We'll definitely be back again!

Randy C.

Yelp
Food was delicious and excellent. Ramón and the entire staff provided great service!!! The ambiance, especially the music which was spot on. I will definitely be back to try the other menu options.

Nair A.

Elisabeth H.

Yelp
So fun. Everything was delicious and served fast! Service was lovely from Ramon:) the view was amazing of course and the drinks perfection!

Melisa F.

Yelp
The food was served before the drinks. The appetizers were very small portions for the money. The waitress came with the margaritas they were not worth the wait. The other drink was a bacardi and coke .They had no bacardi the replacement was not a white rum it was not tasty.Do not get the goat cheese appetizer they are the size of an olive. The best thing was the view and company that we shared !!

Jeff M.

Yelp
The food was amazing, obviously the view was spectacular. But our server Josie was the best by far. incredibly attentive 5 star service for certain.
google avatar

Caroline H.

Yelp
Fantastic waitstaff at the bar. Beautiful views of MIT too. The food is fresh and the guilt free GF was healthy. Loved the quinoa, chicken and beans. The halibut was fresh and looked delicious. I will return.

Kealani P.

Yelp
it was our first time here food was absolutely amazing. can't beat the view of course! but our waitress Willa was absolutely amazing. she gave such great recommendations and was so sweet!!
google avatar

Morassa M.

Yelp
The lobster roll was delicious! Everything we ordered came out quickly and the service was impeccable. Really friendly staff who were helpful! Ambiance is nice too with views of the city :) highly recommend anyone who is visiting or lives in Boston to come here!
google avatar

Fatboy S.

Yelp
Completely underwhelming. Stopped in after going to The View. Was told I needed reservations, but was let in for drinks and appetizers after seeing that the place was basically empty. Got the lobster crepe, which wasn't very good. Drinks were decent. The view and waiter were both the highlight of the time we were there. Definitely a big downgrade from Top of the Hub. The ambiance is nowhere near as nice, and the food from what I could tell, isn't worth the steep price they usually make you pay. Glad I just checked it out for drinks and the app. The bar on the floor above would be my recommendation for the views. Won't be returning.

Kai H.

Yelp
BIGGEST SCAM OF THE CITY!! AVOID AT ALL COST!! I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, ignored all the bad reviews and made a reservation for the restaurant. NOWHERE in the reservation section does it say that you MUST buy an entrance ticket ($30 p/p) even if you are just there to eat at the restaurant. I have friends in town and we were ready to spend whatever $ to eat at the restaurant. I do not appreciate that they force you to buy tickets even though you will be spending more money at the restaurant. Ridiculous!! GET THIS!! Because it was a rainy day in Boston, they dropped the tickets down from $30 to $10, BUT, the only way to buy these tickets is via the kiosk that charges you $3 p/p . i lost it and cancelled everything. It's not about the money, it's the principle! Ramsey's Kitchen was happy to have us! DO BETTER BEACON, RIDICULOUS!

Marieme A.

Yelp
The food was ok but the menu is fairly limited. The service was quite mediocre for the price with a poorly trained staff.

Nicholas W.

Yelp
I booked the full course meal for two and it was around $250. Got there 30 minutes early to wait in line to receive a barcode to go up. (This should be included in the confirmation email). No directions to the restaurant are posted and it was hard to find anyone to tell us where to go. Generally when you book a full course meal there is a menu with your options for the evening. This wasn't the case the waitress had to sit at our table and explain what was and wasn't included. (Wast of her time, just print off another piece of paper with my options). From the time we sat down to the time we received our entrees 1 hour and 43 minutes had passed. This deserves two stars but I'll leave three because it hasn't quite been open a year yet. The food was above average and drinks were a little weak. Overall "Meh" experience.

Nicole S.

Yelp
If I could give this no stars I would. The waitress was SUPER nice but that was the only good thing about this experience. To prepay $250+ for 2 people is an absolute scam. The "lounge" is underwhelming. And to be quite frank the airport has better places. The food was absolutely disgusting. The drinks were awful. Don't waste your time ordering the charcuterie board it's inedible. The lobster roll was GROSS. I ordered the smoke show and a red sangria, I couldn't drink either and we skipped out on dessert so we could go elsewhere. Save your money. The view is beautiful but the food is absolutely grotesque.

Dayane S.

Yelp
Limited menu and they were out of the menu items we wanted and the food we got was just ok. Service was lacking I felt do to having paid and tipped ahead, I felt like they didn't put much effort on serving us (waited 20 minutes for a margarita). It's a nice place with great views though but totally not worth the money.
