"An intimate cocktail bar that opened in April 2019 at the Beacon complex, it closed in mid‑March because of the pandemic and never reopened; statewide rules kept bars closed through May 31, and the owner judged the small, poorly ventilated space unsuited to operate safely under pandemic conditions. The bar had been on an upward trajectory—one of its best months occurred the month before closure, it was about to be featured in Imbibe, and a new investor was close to finalizing details—yet months of lost revenue, owed rent, and a steep drop in the neighboring market’s sales made continuing untenable. Staff were redeployed to the market, a patio aperitivo idea was considered but abandoned as cases spiked, and the owner said she is grieving the loss but proud of what was built and hopeful about reopening another bar when conditions allow." - Beth McKibben

Living at The Beacon Apartments in Fremont has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The management constantly runs loud fire alarm tests that last 30 minutes or more, often without any notice. They don’t seem to care about residents’ comfort — or even about babies trying to sleep — yet if someone plays music for a short while, you immediately receive a violation notice. A few months ago, I also experienced a disturbing incident involving racism and assault from another tenant. I reported it to the leasing management, but they did absolutely nothing about it. There was no accountability, no support, and no follow-up. They claim this is a “smoke-free community,” but that’s far from true. You can often smell cigarettes and marijuana from your balcony or even inside your unit. On top of that, the staff and maintenance team enter apartments without respecting your presence or consent, which is a major privacy concern. The garage gate is broken more often than it works, making it easy for people to come in, steal packages, and break into cars. It doesn’t feel like a safe place to live. Overall, I would not recommend The Beacon Apartments to anyone, safety is poor, and the quality of living is far below what they advertised

I've been living here for a couple of months now, and it's been fantastic! The location is amazing as it walkable to many supermarkets and restaurants. The building looks great, with beautiful indoor and outdoor decoration in the public spaces. The area feels mostly safe. I take a lot of late night walks and feel comfortable doing so. The management staff is helpful and responsive. They communicate clearly about anything that comes up with the apartment. In my time here, a handful of issues have arisen with the building, but there's always clear communication and plans for resolution that put me at ease. In addion, Alaia has been especially helpful in all my interactions with her. She's easy to reach and talk to about anything that comes up, and she always provides the answers I'm looking for. Overall, the past couple of months have been a great experience!

Love the apartments. It's been 3 years, the apartments is still maintained like it's new. Jorge consistently does an excellent job maintaining our equipment and facilities. He is reliable, proactive, and takes great pride in his work. He responds quickly to maintenance requests, ensures tasks are completed safely and efficiently, and often goes above and beyond to prevent future issues. His attention to detail and positive attitude make him a valuable member of the team.

I’ve lived at The Beacon for a while now, Alaia, the Assistant Manager, has been absolutely amazing. She’s always friendly, professional, and genuinely cares about the residents. Anytime I’ve had a question or needed help with something, she’s been quick to respond and always makes sure everything gets handled the right way. It’s rare to find someone who not only knows their job well but also goes above and beyond to make people feel heard and taken care of. You can tell she really takes pride in her work and in keeping the community running smoothly. Huge thank you to Alaia for making this such a great place to live!

Beware before you MOVE here. If I had a chance I would provide negative rating for living in this apartment community. I lived here for 12 months and it was a nightmare. Office staff are rude, unhelpful and negligent especially the office Manager. Problems include 1. Post move out charges are a scam here - do not expect to receive any portion of your deposits back even when you return the home in pristine condition and no defects on the wall. The community and office staff does not consider the concept of normal Wear and Tear they would blindly charge you prorated painting, full cleaning charges and carpet charges. This is despite providing full in depth video and photo evidence. A sample is attached with this review of how the house looked at the time of the move out. 2. Poor soundproof - its impossible to have peaceful living unless you are on the top floor. 3. Most expensive electric charging rates in the bay area. 4. Recurring emails from office staff on new rules adding to the community every other month, feels like a harassment to read the emails. In my decade of renting I have not seen an apartment community this bad in every step of living there.

I have lived in different apartments for over 10 years now and this is the worst management I've seen. We have frequent door break-ins, homeless people entering (security patrol is hardly visible), the gates don't work half the time and they don't even have security to monitor that and on top of that, Mariana (the manager) is extremely rude and arrogant. Even as a resident I feel scared to talk to her. I don't know what do I do and whom do I reach out to for that. The only good part is that the maintenance staff - George is a great guy and has been always helpful and and responsive and respectful.

I have been living at the beacon for one year now and my experience has been great! The office staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. Alaia and Mariana especially have been so nice and easy to work with. They help explain any concerns I have and are always following up with any issues promptly, whether that is regarding any gate issues or elevator issues, they always update everyone through email letting us know what is going on and when something will be resolved. Ive also noticed a lot of improvements here at the beacon that have helped any security concerns that anyone might have. I’ve met a lot of residents here that I’ve become good friends with and love the community. I will be staying at the beacon for a very long time

This was a hidden gem I found in the heart of Fremont. The service from both past and present management has been great. If you're looking for luxury, amenities, and convenience, this is the place for you. Every store we needed--like Target, Whole Foods, Safeway, Trader Joe's, banks, and more--was less than a mile away. Another plus is the availability of charging stations. Overall, it's a great place, but security could be improved. There were a few instances where homeless individuals managed to sneak onto the property to sleep. Other than that, I highly recommend it

I just moved to Beacon from Avalon and it is such a huge upgrade. 8/17/2024 Not only are the interior designs much more modern and aesthetic, but also much bigger in square foot. I live on the 4th floor and I dont hear much noise from above. Many of the older reviews are from older times. The staff is amazing. Charlie and Celina have been working hard by themselves while management is changing (for the better). For example, one of the summer deals was about to end, but Charlie extended me the deal anyways. Additionally, Charlie communicated with me at every instance I sent a correspondence or email with regards to moving and applying to Beacon. I was not left out in the dark. Charlie and Celina have always been transparent with me, which is my language. They have been sacrificing alot of their time to help us residents. It is truly appreciated. Charlie made sure I got all of my keys and remote for the garage in a quick manner. He also replaced the battery for me in the remote that he gave me. My move-in was the easiest move-in I have dealt with thus far in my life. Also, Charlie got me a gift for moving in. He did not have to, but he wrote a card and thanked me for choosing Beacon as my new home. This made me feel welcomed. It also made me feel like I was part of this community. I never had anyone treat me like this throughout the application process. I would recommend 10/10. The rooftop has a nice pool, jaccuzi/hot tub, big gym, and game room. There is an executive office room where you can book the room for depositions. I have a dog and Lake Elizabeth is 10-12 minutes away. This area is fit for dog owners as well. The parking garage has a gate and there are security guards patroling at night. This place is very safe and I would advise anyone looking for a new place to come check out Beacon. I am living my best life here and am very satisfied and content with the whole experience thus far.

My husband and I have lived here for almost 2 years and it's been great. We love the amenities and feel at home here. This location had a management change not too long ago and the staff is amazing! Celina and Mariana are super attentive and a pleasure to speak with. Our lease is coming to an end but we will be renewing and upgrading to a bigger unit which we are super excited about. Definitely can see us starting a family here!

If I could give more than five stars to Mariana, I would! Mariana Gutierrez is the heart and soul of The Beacon Apartments. As the Community Manager, she has completely transformed the atmosphere of this place, making it feel like a true home rather than just another apartment complex. Before Mariana took over, the previous management team left a lot to be desired. I lost multiple Amazon packages--including expensive items--with no security footage and no real concern from the staff. It was frustrating, to say the least. But when Mariana came in, everything changed. She tackled security issues head-on, ensured residents felt heard, and created a safer, more welcoming environment. Thanks to her leadership, these problems are a thing of the past. Even though I eventually moved out, Mariana is the reason I would move back in a heartbeat. Her dedication, warmth, and passion for building a strong community are unmatched. She goes above and beyond to ensure residents feel welcome, heard, and connected. From organizing engaging events to promptly addressing concerns, she truly cares about the people who live here. The Beacon has changed so much because of the vibrant and inclusive community that she has cultivated. It's rare to find someone so committed to making a difference, and Mariana does it effortlessly. If you're considering moving here, know that you won't just be getting an apartment--you'll be gaining a supportive and well-run community, thanks to her!

If i could give them and owners of the building 0 stars i would! Please don't not rent here just looking at the exterior like i did. The apartment staff is horrible to deal with including the owners. My car was towed from my very own parking spot. I had to pay $400 out of my pocket to get my car back! It's funny because they ask for all of our car information when you move in but it didn't matter. When i moved in they made me sign a whole bunch of documents and maybe it's my fault for not reading everything but they said they gave me a parking pass but i NEVER received one! When i reached out to higher management 2 months ago through an email address provided by the site manager no one ever responded. Prior to that My car was broken into and stuff was stolen and they never did anything about it even though they have security nothing was ever done. Worst experience i have ever experienced renting an apartment! On top of everything the manager sent me an email asking why i tossed my old couch where everyone tosses furniture and sent me a bill for it! BBB is contacted and a law suit is coming.

Worst management ever. They just don't care. My car was broken into twice while parked at the secure garage. My mails were stolen from the secured mail room. These things happen. The difference is how the management deals with it. They were indifferent when I complained and didn't take any action. It is luxurious only on the outside. Bath fixtures and things inside are not so luxury. I asked for an inspection while I was still there, when I gave my move out notice. No one showed up. I left my apartment as clean as they gave it to me. They gave me paint for touch up before I moved out. Finally, they charged for painting and cleaning. Wrong accounting in my final settlement - charged for extra days. Never returned my deposit.

The Beacon property is amazing and we are staying here from past 1 year, all the amenities provided by property is brand new and amazing. All the convenience store particularly indian store are in walkable distance The property manager Marianna is super helpful and always there to resolve any issues faced by residents. She always welcomes residents with a jolly smile and try to take care of the issues ASAP.
