NYC’s Best Bachelorette Party Restaurants | Eater NY

"Chef-owner Angie Mar is a dream bachelorette party guest, and while her presence isn’t guaranteed at all bachelorette soirees, her culinary influence is. Cozy up in the chic townhouse-cum-steakhouse to share opulent raw seafood platters and shareable butcher’s blocks starring in-house aged steaks, like the fabulous cote du beauf adorned with tart marrow blistered blackberries and charred prawn butter." - Melissa Kravitz Hoeffner

13 Best Margaritas in New York City | Eater

"Of course this elegant steakhouse ups the tequila ante with its margarita, and yes, it’s bubbly. The Beatrice Inn’s sparkling margarita tops blanco tequila, Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, agave, and lime juice with Champagne, all served with a lava salt rim to heighten the drama. Pro tip: You can only order the restaurant’s famed fried chicken ($15) at the bar, so drink up an appetite." - Vox Creative

17 Luxurious NYC Restaurants to Woo a Client | Eater NY

"If burning through an expense account is the objective, the Beatrice Inn is more than happy to oblige. The meat-focused restaurant in a former nightclub is dripping with old glamour, from its zebra painting and leather trim to the excess-forward menu. Chef-owner Angie Mar piles an impossible amount of raw seafood on the market-price Grand Coquillage platter, and $120 roast duck is flambéed and served with cherry jus." - Paul Schrodt

We stayed at The Beatrice over Memorial Day weekend and couldn’t be happier with our choice. The location is a big plus—within walking distance to downtown and just a short drive to all the great restaurants in the area. The room was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The check-in staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We also loved the stylish hallway design—it added a nice touch of charm. Overall, we highly recommend The Beatrice if you’re visiting Providence!

We were excited to see this relatively new property in PVD - most of the other hotels have been around awhile and are somewhat tired appearing. The small size and location were also appealing.||The stay lived up to our expectations. We requested and were allowed early check-in so we could get ready for an afternoon wedding nearby. The staff were very communicative and I was made aware of status changes promptly. ||Front desk staff were great at check-in and check-out. Valet service was on point with an app to call for the car.||The room on the 5th floor was stunning - refurbished with all the details on point. Fast elevator - security door keeping rooftop bar guests from accidently coming to our hallway - Perfect linen and towels ( all still new in feel ). ||Nespresso to recharge us. Small fridge and safe as one would expect. A Dyson hairdryer - one would not expect.||Bathroom was spacious and had a Duravit Smart Toilet with a Geberit Euro wall mount - it was like we were back in Europe. Great water pressure in the shower. ||WIFI - was a bit spotty for streaming youtube and we resorted to cell service. Netflix on a tablet worked fine. TV only had satellite and no streaming option. ||Didn't get to eat at Bellini but maybe next time.

We stayed at the Beatrice Hotel for one night and had two rooms on the lowest floor. When we expressed concern about potential street noise, the staff assured us that the rooms were equipped with white noise machines and that no other rooms were available. It turned out to be very noisy in the room at night and unfortunately, both my husband and daughter had a terrible night’s sleep as a result. We mentioned this to the front desk the next morning. While they expressed sympathy, no offer of compensation or meaningful resolution was made. After we returned home, I received a follow-up call and email from the manager, but instead of acknowledging the issue, she launched into a long, unnecessary explanation about how all the rooms are the same and equipped with white noise machines. She offered a discount on a future stay so we'd walk away with a positive experience? I told her it would make more sense to apply a discount to disappointing stay we just experienced (obviously) and that we don't have a reason to be back in Providence for the forseeable future. Totally ridiculous and empty offer. Ultimately, our experience was disappointing—especially at this price point. We expected more responsiveness and accountability from a hotel of this caliber.

I stayed at the Beatrice while touring Brown University with my daughter. This hotel is EXCEPTIONAL. The staff were kind, courteous, and very accommodating. The rooms are very well appointed with great amenities (well thought out). Valet and bell service are excellent with an easy text for car service. The shining star on top is the outstanding restaurant Bellini. Old school Italian dining experience with attentive staff. I will be back!!

This Hotel exudes taste, class and caring hospitality. Located in the walking distance to Brown university, RISD, wonderful restaurants and other attractions, serviced by thoughtful employees, and priced reasonably, this hotel provided a beautiful, well designed and well appointed room that enhanced our experience and made for a memorable stay. Cannot wait to go back. I want to congratulate the owner for his vision and for executing it.

Just had three nights at this beautiful hotel. The room was spacious, spotless, and had everything we needed. The restaurant & rooftop bar were both terrific. All hotel staff so pleasant & helpful. A really perfect stay!

Google
The finest hotel in Providence! Best part is Sam at the front desk and Hunter too as well as Waldo at Valet and the rest of the valet crew. Love the Snooz machine in the room, bought one on my last visit there!

We stayed for 1 night in room 205 which is a Grand King with 2 floor length windows making up one wall. Upon check in the front desk staff were super nice, once we got up to our room we realized they put us in an ADA accessible room which isn’t a big deal, we just couldn’t use the simple human mirror and the bathroom flooded when taking a shower. But the real problem we had was the cleanliness of the room. There was a Bobby pin left on the bed when we walked in, there was pee crusted on the toilet seat, the small bathroom trash already had items in it, the cream rug under the bed had poop stains on it. The blackout curtains let in large gaps of light from outside, the thermostat in the room didn’t go below 68.5 and you couldn’t control the fan, and the walls were so thin we could hear when the people above and below us where doing the whole night and the bed was dreadfully hard. All in all, would not recommend for the price and definitely will not be going back. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Elegant Upscale boutique hotel in downtown Providence. Exceptional customer service provided at check in by Tori Z. From the moment we arrived, the Béatrice staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. Our room was a gorgeous corner room on the 4th floor with 2 huge windows! We had The chef's tasting menu for dinner at Bellini. Every course was meticulously prepared and scrumptious beyond our expectations! Our waiter (Giovanni ?) made us feel like we were his only table! Bravo!! Bellini was so delicious, We ordered room service one night and sat at the bar to enjoy Bellini's amazing Burrata and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. The bartender Julia (superstar!) and the manager Mike were beyond helpful with their local insight to our upcoming move to providence. 5 stars ++ to The Béatrice and its brilliant team!!! We will be back!

Yelp
This is a pleasant enough hotel. The room was large. The bathroom was well appointed. But, it is not worth the price! The restaurant, Bellini, was meh. The valet system of calling for the car doesn't work. The phone in the room did not work for reaching the front desk or housekeeping. There is a QR code to access the info on the hotel, but the info is poorly presented. It was hard to figure out how to get breakfast. We won't be back.

Yelp
Stayed here for kids free getaway. These days it seems we're always disappointed with hotels. Not here. Absolutely superb service from not just 1 employee but from every single employee we had contact with. The room itself was actually quiet and comfy. So many hotel rooms call themselves higher end with uncomfortable beds and worn looking rooms. Not here. Truly top notch. It's not cheap but it really is worth it. I'm

Yelp
I had an amazing stay at The Beatrice. The location is perfect - right near delicious restaurants, cocktail bars, and coffee shops and a 5 minute walk to the train station. The folks working at the front desk were wonderful. They are super accommodating and happy to help make your stay exceptional. The room itself exceeded my expectations - beautiful, bright and spacious. The Nespresso machine was an amazing luxury amongst many others. I loved the heated towel rack, the LED makeup mirror, the Dyson air dryer, and the fancy heated toilet. The walk-in shower was luxurious. Also you can't beat a comfy bathrobe. The downsides of our room was that the TV speaker was in the bathroom and not coming out of the actual TV. It was so strange and made hearing the tv from your bed super difficult and strained. Also, the thermostat was a bit difficult to maneuver but eventually it was working fine. Finally, because you're downtown, expect loud noises from the nearby bus station or random people screaming outside at 2 AM. This didn't bother me too much but is worth noting.

Yelp
I have a new favorite hotel in Providence and this will be where I stay moving forward. My positive experience started as soon as I pulled into the valet and put the car away for the stay. Check in was a breeze with a warm, friendly host who gave me the low down before heading to my room. While I didn't take him up on his dinner recco (I already had a reservation elsewhere) his suggestion was legit. Everybody I interacted with was wonderful. The hotel is beautiful. It's very clean and well-appointed. My room was cozy but had plenty of room with a super comfortable bed. Everything comes across as being intentional and thoughtful. While the electronic toilet is a great amenity it's actually the smaller things that stood out for me. Like the fact that the temp for the large walk in rain shower can be set without actually getting wet. Or that there are plenty of well-placed outlets in the room. Or the perfect lighting in the bathroom that makes me question everything about my home bathroom lighting. The lighting overall in the room is excellent and it's user friendly. Also I heard basically no noise while I was there. There was a wedding going on in the hotel and I never heard it nor had my sleep even remotely disturbed. The location is great. You can walk everywhere and there's no shortage of cafes, restaurants, and cool shops close by. My first 3 hours of my stay consisted of: check in, a stroll in which I went to the rock and roll yardsale pop up a few blocks away (and scored some excellent vintage pieces), hit up a street fair on Westminster, had a drink and a bite at the rooftop bar of the hotel, and then dinner at Oberlin just a few blocks away. Perfection. The rooftop bar was nice, but not something one can take full advantage of on a cold evening. While there are heat lamps outside it was much too cold to enjoy being out there so we sat inside by the bar and were well-taken care of. But the outside area is gorgeous with a nice view and I already can't wait to visit in warm weather. I'm looking forward to coming back and thrilled to have a new spot :)

Yelp
Would not recommend this hotel!!! We had a number of problems with this hotel! We did not sleep well during our 4 night stay due to the very uncomfortable pillows. Literally, the worst pillows we have ever slept on! When we complained about not sleeping well, the manager was defensive and argued with us about the pillows and offered some minor sweets for the room. After not sleeping well for 2 nights in a row, we finally got her to pay for half our dinner, but terrible customer service! We asked the front desk for suggestions for dinner at a French restaurant and they had no idea what to recommend. The pillows had stains on them, the shower was left dirty, we asked for extra towels that never were provided. The last night at 12:30 am we finally called down to the front desk because it was so loud in our room with music and people talking. The front desk told us the hotel was having an event that was wrapping up. No notification to guests about the event nor any apologies for keeping guests up late at night! I would stay clear of this hotel!!

Yelp
I heard so many great things about this new hotel and cancelled a suite at another boutique hotel that included breakfast for two, parking, and was far less money just to try this one. Sometimes risk has its rewards. This was not the case. While this hotel is new and well designed, it was not special enough for me to return. Providence has so many hotels (both chain and independent) that have perks far superior in my opinion. Service was cordial. Status quo. Nothing above and beyond. No welcome drinks. No room upgrades. No loyalty program. This doesn't bother some people, but in this market you need more than an electronic toilet to win business. Things I liked: the interior design. The location. Newness. Dyson hairdryer. In room steamer. Fit Kit (which is advertised as in room, but needs to be requested and is a gym bag full of work out equipment). Things I didn't like: Third floor looks into offices. Our room was over the recycle and trash area which started at 5:20am! The noise continued for an hour and a half. In between that noise was the thumping of footsteps overhead from the room above. No tea in room (coffee only). There is an amenity advertised as "Bea's Book Bag". Staff couldn't explain what this was and were supposed to get back to me next day. They did not. The shower. The mixer is very hot or very cold. No in between. The temperature control light. If you need to adjust the temp in the night expect the bright light right next to your bed to stay on for a full minute or two. The vibe. We felt like we were in an office building. Staff wasn't overly warm and friendly. The restaurant drink prices were more than something you'd see in NY or SF. Why? The price tag even on the basic room was inflated. Again, there is no reason to pay far more for this property. One and done for us.

Yelp
The old EXCHANGE building is totally renovated and gorgeous! Our room was not large but elegant and well appointed. The staff were eager to please and although we didn't have a chance to dine at BELLINI - it looks good! Great location for us, right by college hill and river fire.

Yelp
This place is 1st rate in every way. Beautiful decor, cozy rooms with all the amenities. The Italian restaurant provides room service and everything I had there was delicious. They don't do breakfast but they do have brunch some days. Do like we did and order in donuts from Knead or PV. Donuts seem to be a Rhode Island thing, big time. But what really made the experience was the staff. They couldn't have been better. The front desk staff, the servers, the valets and cleaners were so on it and kind. Can't wait to come back the next time I'm in Providence.

Yelp
We were really excited about staying here and it's charm didn't disappoint. Old school meets new school. Staff was friendly and the rooms were beautiful. It just happened to be the coldest night of the year. When we checked in room temperature was 55 degrees. We adjusted thermostat to no avail. Called room service they said it takes some time. Decided to go out for dinner and hit the town, when we got back at midnight the room temperature did go up to 58 !!!!! Too tired to wait for matienance just crashed in a very comfortable bed. Woke to a freezing 58 degree room. I'd give it 3 and a half stars *** update: realized the next day that we were given a full refund for thermostat malfunction. Kudos to The Beatrice for making things right.

Yelp
I travel to Providence every couple months for a week at a time for work. Started last year, and have been trying a different hotel in the area each time, trying to find my "place". Well let's just say I found it, the Beatrice is the best hotel in Providence, period, end of story. Here's why: Let's start with what's already been said, the building is gorgeous. They brilliantly created a hotel lobby around what used to be the alley between two the hotel and an office building. A little hard to articulate, but it's now stunning space with soaring ceilings, gorgeous hanging glass fixtures, and high end decor. Very nice to walk into. I stayed in a Grand room which the website says is one click above a standard one. These rooms are beautiful but also SMART with little touches. The bidet funtion on the toilet and heated toilet seat). The little knob in the bathroom that's actually a volume for the TV (was nice to hear the news in the morning while showering). The shower head that sprays this incredibly fine mist, but more than enough of it (other settings too if you prefer a standard stream, but the mist was awesome). All in tandem with perfectly functioning legacy features (cold A/C, mini fridge, espresso maker... you heard me). The bedding is perfect, plush but not too plush, and the pillows are perfection. Then the room aesthetics. Soaring windows, herringbone hardwood floors and marble bathroom tile. Oh, and the grand rooms are big. Real big. And then there's the people. Sydney at the front desk was warm, genuine but polished and professional, exactly what you want in a check-in experience after 16 hours of travel. She was friendly with each passing of the front desk throughout the week, I enjoyed chatting with her each time. Also, the gentleman at Valet (tall, muscular caucasian guy, got his name but am blanking it). Might be the hardest working valet guy I've ever come across, and a VERY nice guy who I enjoyed chatting with each day. All the folks were great, these folks just really stood out and I hope they are recognized. A few other notes before I wrap up: - The location is perfect if you want the downtown, walk around vibe. I was flabbergasted by the number of restaurants withing a couple blocks. - If you don't feel like walking, the hotel restaurant Bellini is very good. High end Italian in a fairly formal environment, but the folks are mostly great. I say mostly because there was a manager there (older, shorter man with dark hair) who was uptreating the staff very poorly, downright unprofessional and rude, I didn't appreciate it. I mentioned to one of the staff I was going to confront him for his insanely unacceptable treatment of his staff, and I was told that would only make it worse for them. I left large tips to offset but who is this awful person? My next trip, if he's there, I'll turn around and eat elsewhere so I don't have to be witness to this ancient, hierachiel treatment of employees. Shame on that man, he's very lucky I'm a reasonable person, I wish I were not. Thank you to The Beatrice, I'll see you in a couple months... and every couple months after that, you are now my place. PS - I am a titanium Marriott Bonvot member who gets all the usual perks there, and I will bypass them all when in Providence to stay at the Beatrice.

Yelp
Finally a beautiful upscale hotel in downtown Providence! Well appointed rooms, very clean, super helpful staff... We'll be back.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed the weekend of valentines, and we loved it here. The decor was super cute, and the staff was very accommodating. We were able to check in early to decorate and they were very attentive with our needs. They have a texting system for the front desk which was very helpful and convenient. The bathroom is equipped with heated towel racks and a heated toilet seat and bidet which was awesome. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel called The Bellini which offers Italian cuisine. The food was good and they deliver it right up to your hotel door, you just have to let them know your a guest at the hotel. Overall our experience was great! We will definitely be back for sure.

Joyce R.

Yelp
This boutique hotel is perfection! We stayed there for 3 months and they truly made us feel "at home"! The service is wonderful, the staff is friendly and incredibly accommodating. The rooms are lovely and beautifully appointed. Everything about our stay was just the best! We miss the staff and hope to see them again soon!
