The Beaufort Arms

Nice enough atmosphere but super slow service if using the online payment/order system and food quality definitely hasn't inspired to ever want to return for more food. The photo i have added is a £13.49 sharers starter with just 4 pieces of incredibly hard/dryed out bread and the camembert was only slightly warm. We had to wait 45 minutes for just the starters and first round of drinks to arrive. After waiting 45 minutes we were then told that the other sharer starter of nachos that we ordered wasn't available and offered no solution other than a refund so between four of us we had a single stick of bread each dipped in slightly warm cheese.

An authentic, old style pub. Focus on a relaxed communicative atmosphere, real fire, pool table, local art, juke box (for high & low days). Great Sunday lunch. Competively priced beer and cider. Run by Debs for more than 35 years with help from Lisa and Will.

Friendly/helpful bar staff. Asked to move tables as reserved table under a very noisy speaker! This was not a problem. Extensive menu, very reasonably priced. Good vegetarian options. Prompt service and very nice food. My party of 4 all enjoyed it and said they'd return.

From the moment I walked into the pub, Josie and Jade made me feel genuinely welcome. Their customer service was nothing short of amazing—warm, friendly, and effortlessly attentive. They both have a natural way of making you feel comfortable, like you’re a regular even if it’s your first visit. Nothing was too much trouble, and their positive energy truly set the tone for the whole experience. It’s rare to come across service that feels so authentic and caring, and it made my time at the pub even more enjoyable. We came in yesterday for dinner and were very pleased with our experience. Our food was excellent. the girl on the bar was nice. A young girl named Josie came over and introduced herself after she saw we were all seated and let us know that she would be looking after us for the night. It was abundantly clear that she was extremely busy but she went above and beyond to make sure we were all happy. In all honesty after we left she was the main topic of our conversation she was an absolute angel and made our experience that much better. As we were leaving someone mentioned to her that they recently moved to the area she gave lots of recommendations as she’s a local herself, all of this is truly what set her apart for us. We will definitely be coming back. Huge thank you to the Beaufort Arms and to Josie we will be seeing you soon!

Drank here from 18-21 years old while attending the DAF college as an apprentice. We always had a good laugh, locals and staff were brilliant. Recently returned for a very different visit with my wife and kids while travelling and had our tea. Can say after 8 years the place has barely changed (in the best possible way) great selection of beers / ciders on tap. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Staff although new faces from what I remember were still super friendly and helpful.

I've mixed feelings about this pub what with our recent experience a few weeks ago. We"ve been here twice around lunchtime/early to mid-afternoon, both on a weekend. Plus points: Very convenient as it's a few minutes walk from the train station. Cozy and warm. Varied menu selection. Clean toilets. Not so good points: The first time we went here, it was close to 11 a.m. (we checked and they open at 10 a.m. on weekends) and we wanted to get some light bites but the staff said they were not serving any food yet. So we settled for just coffee. OK, fair enough, and it was a nice place to be in on a rainy day. The second time we came here was for lunch (and it was around 1:30 to 2 p.m.), and we waited almost an hour for our food to arrive. My husband and I ordered drinks, which arrived early. We thought the food would soon follow so we waited, as there was quite a crowd. We really thought they had a staff shortage so we opted to be patient at the 30-minute mark. After waiting for 45 minutes, my husband went to the bar to follow up and they said they were preparing it and the staff apologised for not informing us. We ordered via QR code but no one informed us of the waiting time. By this time, the crowd had thinned out. When the food arrived, the ale pie crust was too hard (like it was 'in the oven too long' type of hardness) although the filling was good. I ordered Fisherman's Catch but it's the saddest looking dish I've ever seen (the peas were dry and the chips looked and tasted like it was reheated). We were too hungry by that time to care and complain and we just wanted to finish and leave. Hope the management would improve these issues because it really leaves a bad impression on customers.

Lovely place to be from food to beer, service is always with a smile and the atmosphere is how you make it, great menu and plenty of free parking all day long. And with staff like Connie you know you’re in good hands. 100% good place to be !!

This Harvester style pub is probably a fairly decent local to folks in the area, but as a brief visitor it wasn't overtly special. It's often been said that folks up north have a warmer welcome, and being Bristolian/Gloucesterfarian I would like to defend the area since it's from whence I hail. However, since living in Yorkshire for just about a decade, I have to say I notice the difference. Get yourself all the way up to Scotland, and the difference is even more apparent. So, my Dad and I popped in here for a swift half, and as he nipped to the loo I stood to order our drinks at the bar. A few were being served, so I waited, only to have a local take priority of place over me. Of course, I'm not so rushed that this was a huge issue, but being ex-bar staff, I'd make it a priority to serve folks in the order they arrive at the bar... Irksome. The lay out is rather open, with a few booth style areas, should you wish to sup somewhere a little more personal. The bar serves up some standards; Guinness, various spirits and lagers are available on tap. They've a Cask Ale seal, so there's some beers on hand, although I didn't have a chance to check them out. Basically, it'll certainly do if you need a pint when in the area. And given I'm to understand there's but one other pub in the vicinity, it'll have to do!

It was OK, nothing special. There's a nice outside area for those warm days/nights. However, I was there on Boxing Day and the three of us had the Boxing Day menu. Maybe it was because it was late and perhaps we were the last ones to have that particular menu, but I wasn't impressed with the quality of the food. The quantity was very good, but it just seemed that the vegetables had been overcooked. The service was average. The drinks were average priced. I'd describe the whole experience as just about adequate. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. But it's decent enough for an average visit. Overall, I didn't consider the Xmas menu good value. On the plus side, the business is only about 10 minutes walk from Bristol Parkway train station, if you're into that sort of thing.
