What a wonderful first experience, the vibe and atmosphere felt wonderful and so welcome as a first interaction! As well were really helpful when buying flowers from the BicycleBouquet as well! It was super affordable and such a great time. Definitely recommend it for others and will definitely be involved with their business in the future :).

My hair is super dry, thick and curly, and intimidates most hair stylists. Dana didn't miss a beat and was immediately comfortable with a perfect cut and color. Will definitely be back!

I got a hair cut by Jessica about a month ago and she did a great job, no complaints there. I loved the vibe of the salon, and had been wanting a split dye for a few months so I asked her if she thought it was possible in two sessions or less. I thought I was pretty clear in stating that I did not want platinum and black, I wanted medium/dark brown and light/medium blonde. It seemed like she understood so I came in and she got to work. The dark side is okay, it’s darker than I originally wanted but it’s fine. She started in the bleach, and that’s when I should have spoken up. I know my roots process faster and I was quite uncomfortable with her technique. The front of my hair was processing for far longer than the back. Her next client came in and I could tell she was trying to rush through the rinse and tone. She put me under the dryer and I took a quick look before I left, thinking everything was fine. When I got home, I realized everything was not fine. I had two completely different colors on the blonde side. I had previously communicated that I understood that my blonde may not be perfectly one tone, but this was taking it a little too far. I called the salon. The person that answered told me I would need to contact Jessica. Later that day, Jessica called me. I told her I was unhappy and looking for a fix. She spent a solid 5 minutes telling me that I liked that hair and that it looked good, despite me repeatedly saying I did not like it. She stated that I should have known my hair was going to look like that and she did exactly what I had asked. She told me that any fix wasn’t going to be what I wanted and she didn’t know why she would even do that wouldn’t damage my hair. Luckily, I was able to fix it myself, but I do not recommend getting your hair lightened by Jessica. I was stunned at the way she attempted to convince me my hair was fine when I could clearly see, as could all my friends, that it was not fine. I will not be returning, and am deeply disappointed in the manner in which I was treated.

My kids and I get our hair done by Dana and it is always a wonderful experience! She listens to what we want and then makes it happen. She is especially patient with my kids, and she checks in with them frequently to make sure they are comfortable and happy.

Very unhappy with my haircut. I had long, thick, lovely hair, but it hadn’t been shaped in about 6 months, so I went in for a trim and new bangs. Dana destroyed my hair. She used thinning shears at an obsessive rate (which I confirmed she does with other customers as well afterwards… I learned too late!). Then she cut my bangs at a 90 degree angle and cut a lot of short layers, leaving my hair heavy on top. Thin on the sides and heavy on top? Yep, I now have a mullet. I am so disappointed in this $80+ experience! I even brought in photos of past haircuts that I liked to give her a vision. Not sure where the mullet came from. Anyway, I’m never going back here!

If you're looking here for wedding hair styles, go no further. I cannot recommend The Beehive and Jessica highly enough! The atmosphere in the salon is relaxed and lovely, and was a great experience for my hair trial. Jessica came to our AirBnB and styled hair for my entire bridal party (5), plus myself and my mom, the morning of my wedding. And she is TALENTED! She exceeded at several different styles, and every style lasted all day and well into the night.

Thank you to the Beehive for styling our hair for my wedding day. A huge shout-out to Jessica and Eric. These two honestly made the morning so much happier and brighter, they kept us smiling, laughing, and dancing! They were great about catering to each of our unique styles...for example, going simple and elegant for my mom, a beautiful up-do for my sister-in-law, and classic curls for myself! Mindy was also very easy to coordinate with when Covid happened, and she was great about rescheduling and changing things up to meet our needs. I can't wait to work with you guys again next year, for the full wedding event!

I had a haircut with Donna Knight and I loved it! She made me feel absolutely beautiful. I had a first date that weekend and she talked me through it and made me feel beautiful inside and out. Highly suggest her.

Came in to get a layered curly cut my hair dresser was Dana she did a beautiful job and was very welcoming I love the way my curls look now would definitely recommend her!!! The shop was very clean and inviting as well.

I wish I could say that I had a great experience. I've gotten two haircuts and my hair colored, all by different people. My second and third time being there I was not listened to when I had shown reference pictures of what I wanted. The results, both times, I was disappointed. I bit my tongue the first time and tried to be optimistic- hair grows back you know. When I got my hair colored (face frame) by Rich, I was very specific on what I wanted and shared how anxious I was about the experience. The results turned out exactly how I didn't want it. It looked like a two year old took yellow paint to my hair..Although I asked plenty of questions through out the process for reassurance (also he coughed in my face when he was styling my hair) I couldn't leave that salon without it getting fixed by someone new. The lady who fixed it was kind and listened to me at least. I wanted to give this place a chance because I have type 2 hair and was excited a salon is specialized with texture hair, I will not be back though :( I hope others have a better experience, just wasn't meant for me. Make sure to be firm on what you want!

I was looking for a new stylist as mine went on a leave of absence to care for her mother. I have long thick curly hair and needed to find someone who is familiar with my hair type. After searching I came across the Beehive. I also wanted to try Balayage and when I called to set up an appointment they recommended Donna. The color she chose was spot one and gave me several tips to care for my curly frizzy hair. I was so amazed with the outcome! I have received so many compliments on my balayage hair. Donna is amazing!!

Rich did a great job, and listened to what I wanted. Super happy, and I'll be returning there for sure!

Having just moved from Chicago, I will admit I was nervous to get a haircut in Indiana. I have thick, naturally wavy hair that becomes a frizz-filled, triangle mess when my layers grow out. I always get nervous going to a new hairdresser, but especially so having moved from a big, diverse city. So, I combed through Reddit for reccomendations and came to The Beehive to see Eric after reading rave reviews...and this turned out to be THE BEST HAIRCUT EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Eric was outgoing, friendly and professional. He made me feel heard and comfortable. The whole experience was interactional where he would stop every now and then and make me stand up and play with my hair to observe how I interacted with it. We went shorter on length than I initially wanted but I LOVE my new haircut. This has been the best haircut AND hair cut experience. Highly reccomended

I read the reviews so took a chance and this place did not disappoint. I chose Eric as my stylist and I really love his ideas and how he is taking my mullet looking shag into something that I can half tolerate. All we can do is wait to grow out this cut but he is making the most of it

I called in to make an appointment with Jessica after a friend recommended her- I left my number for a call back. When I received a call back the receptionist was very snarky toned, asking me to repeat several times asked what I was wanting to come in for- I told her " I usually do roots, highlights and a trim sometimes when needed" then there was dead air... for a long stretch... I finally said are you still there... "yes" ... (ok then why aren't you talking to me it's your turn) just not friendly at all, she asked for my phone number(cell) I gave it to her- then later she asked for my home phone number (who has landlines now days?) I said" it's the same." She said " umm...I'm on the computer you'll have to give it to me again" also in an unkind tone. I felt like a total burden and that I was to feel privileged to have her even talk to me! At this point I said you know what you're just your not coming off very friendly, I told her to forget it! Sad but I won't recommend this place if your very first encounter is this rude, I'm sure Jessica is a great stylist and I would have loved to have got the opportunity to find out but not with this type customer service! Tone is everything I have been in customer service for years! Some training is needed here, even if you are having a bad day or stressed (we have all had such days) which happens in a work environment don't come off that way to customers!

Loved my first cut here, and hanging out with Eric. He sized me up accurately as wanting some styling tutoring but not too complicated or involved a process.

Only place in the Michiana area that knows how to deal with curly hair! Devacut-certified Lynn is excellent every single time! The decor is super colorful and fun--it feels very funky and inviting! This is the only place I go.

Just had the most amazing experience at the Beehive. After an unfortunate visit at another, much more expensive salon in SB, I heard about the beehive. Eric was a god send! He is so friendly, he talked me through everything, and I absolutely loved and adored his work and my time I spent with him. Everyone at the salon is so nice and are truly deserving of your time and money -- your hair and happiness will thank you!!

Donna is absolutely terrific! She's great with color and does meticulous work on my cuts. Also great with helping me transition to a new look. Very friendly place and Covid-careful. The stylists seem to really like working here.

I had my first appointment with Eric to get a haircut. I knew I wanted to go short, but I had my doubts given my thick, wavy, frizzy hair. All that went out the window when I met Eric! He made me feel relaxed, confident, and BEAUTIFUL. Eric was very personable and really made me feel included throughout the entire process. The entire vibe of the salon was welcoming. You can tell that the staff love what they do. I most definitely recommend stopping by The Beehive, you won't regret it!

Jessica gave me a really great haircut! As someone with curly hair it can be rough to find someone that can properly cut and style curly hair. I have thick curly hair and for the first time in 28 years it is cut in a way that I makes my hair look cute and fun and not like a Lion's Mane. The salon is super cute with a retro vibe and the whole staff was super nice.

Ah-MaZing!!!!! My appt was with Eric and I was SO nervous!!! I have botticelli curls and have had so many issues with it being cut wrong, people not understanding the texture, or just wanting me to straighten it. Eric could pick up on my nervousness and was so nice-like a long lost friend!! He not only made me feel at ease, but walked me through each step, gave me his background, and the background of his co-workers and totally reassured me. It really was like a great little family there and Im so excited to go back the next time I need a trim. Thank you so much Eric for your understanding and the light that you exude!! :)

My daughter loves the beehive. its conveniently located for us. She gets a great cut and color.Jill the owner is really nice.

The only place I'll get my haircut. Wonderful locally-owned hair salon that provides every aspect of service that a salon should. Big city quality in downtown South Bend. I've been going there for years and have no plans to change to anywhere else.

Where has this salon been my whole life??? I have very curly hair and I learned more about how to manage my hair in my one hour blow out appointment with Eric then I learned in the last 20 years I have been straightening my hair! I will definitely be going back! Thank you Eric for the AMAZING blowout!

I have been going to the Beehive for the past three years and am always impressed by their attention to detail, skill, and level of customer service. Both Jill and Jessica have done wonders with my curls and I would happily recommend the Beehive to anyone.

Eric and Dana are a wonderful wedding team. I'm a bride from out of town and took my event planner's word when she said to call Beehive for wedding day hair and makeup for the bridal party. Eric was exceptional in creating a beautiful style, and keeping the energy up and the ladies happy and excited. My friends that saw pictures of the wedding said they loved the makeup, and how it wasn't overwhelming - the credit for my wedding face goes to Dana. Thank you Eric and Dana for making a special day!

This cosy little place is so welcoming and wonderful! I felt very at home and I'm usually very nervous in hair salons and they made me feel super comfortable. Dana cut my hair and did a wonderful job with my poor description of what I wanted. She did a lovely cut and style and I feel confident and so happy with my new hair. They listened to my long rambles and were very fun to chat to. One of my best experiences and I will be back again. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great time and a unique experience.

Jill gave me a great cut, thank you Jill! In the 10 years I lived in San Diego, I have not managed to find a place that cuts my hair right. And i looked and paid a lot of money in the process. I gave up on them and had my cut done during my travels to Asia or Europe, not an optimal solution if the trips are 2-3 months apart. Most salons in the US specialize in hairs that are not mine. I had a cut by Jill and I love my hair again, like I haven't since I was 20. I have thick wavy hair that I thought that it can't be tamed anymore. Jill made it look young and happy again.

I love the Beehive and Jill. I have very curly hair, and Jill has given me the best haircuts of my life--far better than cuts I paid twice as much for in major cities. I've also gotten my hair colored several times by a few different Beehive staff members, and I've been happy every time. The place has a great vibe--everyone is warm and enthusiastic, and it's great to walk into a salon where everyone is excited about your curly hair, as opposed to intimidated / annoyed / wanting you to straighten it.

Dana is amazing! She has cut all of my kids' hair and does a fantastic job. I have two teenage daughters and she did updos and makeup for their winter formal. They looked amazing! She also colored my daughter's hair and it is beautiful. Finally, she handled my 5-year old son with ease! Thank you. Dana!

I came in as a walk-in and came out with my favorite haircut ever- thank you Jenny Jones!!! I will definitely be headed back there soon!
