"The quaint village of Charlbury is the setting for this 17C pub, which looks gorgeous thanks to a lavish makeover. The bar and dining areas ooze charm and character, with exposed Cotswold stone walls and crackling log fires among the many appealing features. In summer, the garden and orchard come into their own with a covered terrace and even a small stream. Many ingredients come from their sister operation, Daylesford Organic Farm, and are used in comforting, full-flavoured dishes like Cornish fish pie. Tastefully decorated bedrooms complete the picture." - Michelin Inspector

We came here to have dinner 🍽 The dining areas had typical stylish cotswold decor. It is very clean throughout, and it's nice to have background music. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and an asset to the hotel. The menu choices were excellent. Good wine and cocktail list. Every ingredient was fresh and cooked to perfection 👌 I'd highly recommend this restaurant. It also had some lovely outdoor dining areas. The additional outdoor bar looked like an amazing area, I'll be back to try that out!!

The Bell has been wonderfully restored as a traditional English hotel by the current owners. We haven't stayed but have called in several times for a drink and bite to eat. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The prices aren't cheap but are reasonably priced for the location. The garden...well, it's great. Garden bar and sourdough pizza kitchen in a terraced garden with shaded areas as well as open. Child friendly but with an adult theme. Can't fault it.

Second visit since its takeover by Daylesford/Bamford’s - vastly improved! Menu was comprehensive, varied and exciting with a focus on produce. Food was excellent quality, cooked well and delicious. Service excellent. Love the addition of children’s menus. Clearly some large improvements behind the scenes. Highly recommended.

Just lovely, the food was incredible and reasonably priced! Cocktails were very nice too! The staff were so lovely and attentive and we felt that we had the best table in the area, we were settled very nicely in front of an open fire while we enjoyed our food! We will be back!

Fabulous pub inn. Rooms are delightful and very beautifully styled. Plenty of roaring fires in the pub. Food is excellent. Chef is apparently Italian and they have a pizza oven outside which is used in the summer so must go back and try them! Great walks locally. Staff couldn't be more helpful, especially Luke who was fab. Had a small baby who was allowed in the pub and to sleep on one of the chairs. Charlbury is a small, charming village.

After a 3 year long quest to find the perfect country pub roast, we finally have a winner. The beef was cooked perfectly, with lots of flavour and the vegetables were fresh and nutrient dense. Nate? served us and he was a ray of sunshine, nothing was too much and we felt very welcome. We look forward to returning soon.

We sat in the garden for drinks and food which is a gorgeous setting but; 1) staff not polite 2) hidden service charge - 5% not mentioned anywhere and excess when they don't even serve you at the table. It's compulsory, not discretionary. 3) worst chicken ceasar salad I've eaten...for £14. Just lettuce leaves and chicken...no bacon or croutons and served in a cardboard box. 4) more choice of drinks inside...but if you buy those you can't take them into the garden as they aren't served in plastic glasses. 5) everyone else had pizza and seemed happy with their choice....so maybe eat pizza in the garden but be prepared for the hidden service charge for no service! The only good thing was the live music. Great musician. Overall very disappointing and bad value.

I stayed at The Bell for four nights with my best friend on a Mom’s getaway- it was fantastic! The rooms were cozy, the food was delicious, the atmosphere incredible, and the service was EXCEPTIONAL! The staff at The Bell were warm, friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. A special thank you to Charlotte, Sam, and Lily for making our stay so lovely!
