The Bell

We had the most wonderful experience at The Bell for our wedding celebration. From our very first site visit, we felt completely looked after, and we were truly blessed to have Becky with us all the way through to the big day. She has such a natural gift for hospitality, attention to detail, and making people feel special — it’s rare and it really shone through. The food was exceptional — huge thanks to the chef and kitchen crew for a delicious feast. Special thanks also to Helen for all her help with the rooms, and to Clarissa for the beautiful flowers, which kept so well they were still looking amazing for our second day festival ceremony and banquet. We can’t speak highly enough of Becky and the whole team at The Bell. If you want warmth, care, and an unforgettable experience, this is the place.

We came here to have dinner 🍽 The dining areas had typical stylish cotswold decor. It is very clean throughout, and it's nice to have background music. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and an asset to the hotel. The menu choices were excellent. Good wine and cocktail list. Every ingredient was fresh and cooked to perfection 👌 I'd highly recommend this restaurant. It also had some lovely outdoor dining areas. The additional outdoor bar looked like an amazing area, I'll be back to try that out!!

We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of August for my daughter's wedding. The rooms were lovely and were well thought out. The food in the Barn was wonderful and the staff ensured the day went perfectly! I cannot praise them enough. Would highly recommend 👌

We called in to The Bell for a few drinks yesterday afternoon. Sadly we left after one drink each, one large red wine, and one large white wine at an outrageous cost of £37!!! We later found out that when we ordered it was happy hour rates, not advertised at all, and obviously the bar tender didn't want to tell us. On the way out we questioned the cost, and the bar tender was not interested saying it was the price of the wine. He was not at all friendly, or professional. The hotel/bar itself was however beautiful but we will not return, and advice people to be alert of the prices.

Went here for my birthday meal. Absolutely fantastic from a warm welcome too the friendly service. We had roast beef & lamb which was incredibly tasty,packed full of flavour,oh and the desserts were yummy aswell. Just too top of a great meal the lady said that my desert was complimentary due to it being my birthday. I would highly recommend The bell 🔔 👌

We loved our visit to the Bell while staying in the area for a few days. The atmosphere is warm, and the garden is a lovely place to sit and relax. Service from Nathaniel at the bar was excellent - so friendly, genuine and funny, he really made the experience special. Prices are a bit high, but that’s to be expected in the area. Definitely worth a visit!

A beautiful place! Right in the center of Charlbury. Definitely a place to visit and worth a lunch or dinner. The food selection is marvelous. The ingredients mainly come from the Daylesford Organic, another great place to see not far away. Since we came late for lunch we had pizza in the beautiful garden area. The pizza was great. However it took almost 45 minutes to come fresh from the oven. So therefore one star off at this time. But we will definitely be back for a lunch on time.

A wonderful 11th wedding anniversary lunch in glorious sunshine with a virgin mojito, monkfish, pie, and chocolate mousse! Even better to know they don't let riffraffs like JD Vance in!||Not wheelchair accessible, but a member of the waiting staff got us seated outside so that was fine. Go to the toilet first! There is parking, but there is a big carpark behind the nearby Co-op if you can't get in.

Located in a lovely village with good walks surrounding it, The Bell offers delicious food (the pie of the day was very good) at reasonable prices. Nice interior too, although the service could have come with a bit more of a smile.
