Belvedere Restaurant Review - Kensington - London - The Infatuation

"It’s easy to walk through Holland Park hundreds of times without noticing Belvedere. We know because we’ve done it. But this old restaurant and ballroom, that dates back to the 17th century, is a gorgeous space that’s perfect for a special occasion. The room has a faded grandeur that reminds us of the dance hall from Beauty and the Beast, with an upstairs dining room that we’ve seen used for wedding receptions. The quiet room has a grand fireplace, and floor-to-ceiling windows where you can see children playing in the park and couples strolling through the calm flower garden. The Italian menu is good, without being memorable. The portions are small and the calamari isn't well-seasoned, but overall it’s a pleasant meal and not really the reason you come here. If there isn’t an event going on, ask for a seat on the outdoor terrace. It overlooks the garden and is a peaceful way to escape for a few hours. photo credit: Lesley Lau" - Rianne Shlebak

My husband and I dined here for our anniversary, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. The outdoor winter villas added a special touch, making it absolutely worth it for a romantic dinner. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was excellent. The hostesses were incredibly kind, and our waitress ensured we were well taken care of. The food was amazing. I have dietary restrictions as I’m gluten-free and dairy-free, but they happily accommodated me so I could fully enjoy my meal. 10 out of 10, We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Google
We had the most amazing wedding anniversary dinner here. Reservations are a must because the Belvedere is so popular. But since we had a reservation, were welcomed and quickly ushered to our table. Our waitress Ari was so attentive and was so apologetic when we had a bill discrepancy that I caught. The food was perfection. My wife loved her lavender cocktail. It even had a sprig of dried lavender in it! We both gushed over the Chocolate Hazelnut Rocher. It was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. And of course the Chicken Piccata and Grilled Filet Mignon were expertly presented and tasted amazing. And I can't forget my Petite grilled Caesar Salad. Also excellent. An evening to remember. We will be back.

Google
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Lancaster. The King Salmon Crudo was a standout starter—the peanut sauce added depth and richness that took the dish to the next level. For the main, I ordered the Grilled Caesar Salad with chicken and was genuinely blown away. I’ve never been this excited about a salad—perfectly charred romaine, bold flavors, and beautifully balanced. Dessert was a Chocolate Hazelnut Rocher that delivered everything you’d want: rich, crunchy, and reminiscent of the candy—just 5,000 times better. My cocktail (a Sazerac-style creation) was smooth, aromatic, and expertly balanced. Can’t wait to return.

Google
We had a great anniversary dinner here. Service was very attentive (though just a little bit slow), cocktails pretty good, beef tartare and beet salad delicious, and filet mignon juicy and flavorful.

Google
Typically it’s difficult for a restaurant to pull everything off perfectly.. from the moment you enter the building to the time you leave.. but The Belvie Inn did just that! The restaurant is beautiful, the service was excellent, our dishes were always cleared promptly & the courses were perfectly spaced that we didn’t feel rushed at any point or that we were waiting. Also- most importantly the food was outstanding. We will definitely return many times! Perfect spot for your romantic nights out!

Google
Two weekends in a row having dinner at the Bar. Both times were fantastic. Drinks were perfect. Food was 10/10. Downtown Lancaster. Parking a plenty. We will return when visiting the city again.

Google
Nice restaurant in downtown Lancaster serving standard American fare. Street parking available only on weekends unless you have a permit. Food tasted good with standard service quality. Recommend reservations especially on the weekends.

Yelp
The food, service and ambience was excellent. Looks like a swanky hotel but you can go casual. I appreciate that they accommodated my husband and I with our toddler. Definitely would go back! A must try foodie restaurant! Affordable quality dining compared to NJ and NYC.

Yelp
We enjoyed our first time at The Belvedere Inn. We were celebrating our Anniversary. Food was amazing, Service spectacular. We had Jamie as our server, Very attentive and kind. Such a beautiful atmosphere!

Yelp
This was our second time here, our first being before we decided to live in the area! It's always a pleasure to come, the staff are very kind, very knowledgeable and attentive to every need you may have. You are greeted every time you come and go, and there's always a smile to go with it! The ambience is opulent and historic. They have kept the charms of the original building, decorating it with tasteful art and flowers everywhere. This is a great place for a date night, a special occasion, or a even just a great experience. We were lucky enough to book outdoor seating on their adorable balcony, there's only a few tables so reservations recommended. I'll let the photos do the talking! The food is ALWAYS delicious here, and plating is artful and creative. We had gnocchi, some salads (the carrot salad was such a highlight! We loved the flavors!) and the duck was also cooked to perfection. My husbands only complaint was the udon noodles it was resting on (the duck).. he said it was delicious but didn't feel like it go well with the duck. Otherwise, no complaints If you're in Lancaster, this is a MUST TRY! I will definitely be coming in for a third visit and many more. Parking tip: if you come during dinner hour and don't mind spending a few small bucks, there's a garage just a short 3 minute walk from the restaurant, it's safe and open all night! (And next to the arcade for after dinner games!)

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant! We love the staff, the ambiance, the food is amazing, as well as the cocktails. Innovative and delicious. And OMG, get the bread pudding.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time at the Belvedere Inn! Our server was lovely, and the food was all around delicious. The ambiance is wonderful, with a cozy tavern vibe. Great place overall, and would love to come back once the deck is opened.

Yelp
What a Gem! This was such a cozy well dressed restaurant. I was in shorts, but their food was dressed to impress!! The surf and turf filet and scallops was my choice and it was perfectly cooked and melt in my mouth, and scallops were delicate and nutty. This is a great place to bring a date, but is booked up so you best reserve a table. There are two floors so it's bigger than appears. The drinks are top notch and they had a nice selection of bourbon & whiskey. I had Boondocks and that's hard to find. Reasonably priced too with a top bourbon at $16 for a double. I will definitely be back! Try it, you'll like it!

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner there. Ceviche is on point! Had lamb that was great and the service was fantastic.

Yelp
Great ambiance and class for our three-year wedding anniversary. It did get a bit noisy around 6:30 but it was good energy. The food was great:!I got the roast carrot salad with shrimp and he got the scallops and gnocchi. We split the Belvy bread which you must try. The wine selection was great. The waitress with helpful with the menu. We parked in the garage. I'm not sure if this place is handicapped accessible.
google avatar

Yelp
Everyone raves about the Caesar salad so we decided to go give it a try. Yep its yummy. however $14 for the salad, right on the border of ridiculous. I added chicken to mine which was an $8 up-charge, friends when I tell you I got three pieces of chicken in my salad that could have hardly weighed 1-2oz in total. So like $2.60 per bite of chicken? I expected a sliced chicken breast for $8, someone else must have gotten the rest of mine.

Yelp
My hubby & I have come here many of time and every time I say, one day I'm going to sit at that gorgeous bar. Welp, we finally did it!! Great bartender & drinks! Clean and aesthetically beautiful. Had to pinch myself. Food was quick, hot & delicious. I had two vanilla, pear, martinis, and the hubby had Astoria drink. The vibes and people at the bar were so much fun. Made for a dreamy date night.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cool vibe. The inside is giving gothic mansion, really want to come back and sit at the bar. The outside area upstairs, if you are able to sit outside, do it! They have gorgeously decorated outside deck with tons of flowers and it really just made you feel whimsical. Went for dinner with my bf for our anniversary and they made us feel special which is nice and added a little note at the table for us. My drink was delicious, blue cheese olives dirty martini with something truffle in it, very good! Service was just OK bit on the slower side and never got my second drink but otherwise the scallops were amazing! The 4 hour short rib was a bit dry if I'm honest and for the price wouldn't get it again. I will absolutely be back to enjoy the upstairs bar as they have jazz on the weekends apparently.

Yelp
Food amazing. Ambiance unmatched. Service 5 star. Sexy environment. Would definitely go again.

Yelp
Went here for date night yesterday. I grew up in Lancaster but never went until now. We got the crispy pork belly appetizer and it was very yummy. Good flavors, and the pork was melt in your mouth tender. I got the scallop entrée. Came with four scallops, perfectly seared. Also had a corn succotash and grits which created the perfect bite with the scallop. My husband had the filet which he said was okay. It has a bleu cheese butter which he doesn't like. We had the crème brûlée for dessert. It was silky and smooth under the crunchy brûlée. Service was good. Definitely a pricey dinner but I thought it was worth it.

Yelp
Excellent food,Olivia was the kindest. Atmosphere very romantic or just a nice evening out. Classy

Yelp
An absolutely beautiful spot! My partner and I went as a special dinner, and the staff were so incredibly sweet. My wife had the filet mignon and said it was delicious. I have the autumn gnocchi, and it was absolutely amazing. It tasted like a warm Thanksgiving pasta. Cannot recommend this spot enough.

Yelp
We enjoyed some cocktails. Then we had steak (husband) with the trimmings. He had a classic salad and bread pudding for dessert. I had lobster bisque, scallops in a mussel sauce with gnocci. For dessert I had Gifford's ice cream and a double espresso. Our server was attentive and experienced. She served us many times in the past. The decor of the restaurant was fine dining. We will return again.
google avatar

Bobbye S.

Yelp
My husband took me for my birthday because I wanted to try their grilled Caesar salad. It was delicious! He got the lobster bisque, and just wanted more lobster in his soup. He also got scallops, and I ordered the duck. Absolutely delicious!! Service was excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was terrific! The remodeled dining room still has a warm glow, but a little brighter. Jamie our server was friendly, professional and fun! The drinks and food were fantastic! We enjoyed the shared apps - the arancini and Belvie sliders, yum! I enjoyed a half salad (love that they do half salads!) of the roasted carrots which was really tasty. The other diners had the roasted beet salad, which they also enjoyed. Some of the dishes we had included the special Steelhead trout, the salmon, the steak special and the short ribs - all delicious! We also enjoyed some profiteroles, the apple cheesecake and the coffee and pecan tart. Although I enjoyed the profiterole, I think I'll try the coffee and pecan tart next time. This restaurant has continued to uphold the high standards they set for themselves since they opened. Honestly, for the quality of food and service, including the drinks, it is reasonably priced. Treat yourself to a wonderful experience at The Belvedere Inn!

Yelp
Excellent food and good service--I have no complaints. My partner and I enjoyed the dark decor; it made for a very relaxing and intimate experience. The menu wasn't long, which is great for someone like me who gets easily overwhelmed by options. We dined upstairs, where it was a little loud, making it difficult to hear each other at times, but there was a pianist and someone playing bass, which was lovely
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
What a romantic place! Dark and sultry inside beautiful bar on both floors and a gorgeous deck for outdoor dining. The food was fantastic. We started with the pork belly which was a huge portion. We both ordered the specials, I had veal, my husband had cod. It was delicious. We finished with the chocolate peanut butter bread pudding. The service was amazing. Honestly I can't wait to go back
google avatar

Binio L.

Yelp
Wow! This is a hidden gem. From the outside it looks like a good restaurant, the further in you go the better it gets. There are three areas, downstairs, upstairs terrace and upstairs bar and dine in area. It is a higher end place, but worth every cent you spend there. Menu is long but not overwhelming; it has all that is needed and nit more. There are very few plates that might look overpriced but the rest are absolutely fantastic in flavor, value and creativity of new flavors. The drinks are perfect and an amazing value as well. Street parking and garage parking within walking distance. I will be back many times as there are many more things I want to try.

Yelp
We are in Lancaster for a family event and wanted to try a restaurant that is unique to the local area. I went to my trusted Yelp App, like I always do when visiting an unfamiliar location. For my wife and I The Belvidere was the most intriguing restaurant but unfortunately their website didn't have a table available until 10:00 p.m., my wife called them and luckily they had just received a cancelation. We had a 7:30 p.m. reservation. They have free street parking and a parking garage a few yards on the left, we found a spot on the street and we walked in at 7:15 p.m, we gave the hostess our name and we were immediately seated. The decor is very relaxing and warm. It's not quiet because the place was packed, but I didn't consider it noisy. Now to the important part, the food. We hadn't eaten all day, so it was game on! Appetizers: Arancini 5 stars! Beautifully crunchy on the outside and the perfect texture on the inside with a great overall flavor. The sauce it is served with was perfect. The Belvidere Bread 5 stars! Get outta here! I could eat this bread every day, all day. It's crispy and so tasty we forced ourselves to save some so we could have it to properly clean our dinner plates at the end of our meals. ( ya know, like Italians do) Lobster Bisque Soup 4 stars. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the portion. It was the largest bowl of Lobster Bisque that I've ever been served in a restaurant. It was very flavorful, but it lacked lobster meat. It had very small pieces of lobster meat, but it didn't have that one big piece that is the prize. Entrées: I went with the special. A 14 oz. Bone-in Ribeye over mashed potatoes served with asparagus with mushroom sauce. I ordered it medium temperature. 5 stars. I am not a fan of mushrooms, so before ordering, I asked the waiter if the sauce had big pieces of mushrooms, but it did not. I hate to change a special a chef has created, so I ordered as the chef had designed, and I am happy I did. It was cooked to what I consider a perfect medium temperature, and the flavor was so good that I didn't need to add any salt or pepper. The asparagus was the best restaurant asparagus I've had not just because of the light seasoning but because it was cooked, so that it was tender. In my experience, most restaurant asparagus is undercooked it seems like it had been picked, cleaned, heated for 5 minutes, and served. Not this asparagus, it cut with a fork, and I finished every stalk. My wife had chicken picante 4 stars. She loved the flavor of the sauce, but she didn't give it 5 stars because of her personal preference that the chicken cutlet be pounded out to be thinner and the breading to be crispier. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the cranberry spiced margarita. For us, it wasn't sweet enough. We had entered the restaurant with the intentions that we'd be ordering dessert, but that was not to be true. Sadly, we were full. Side notes: The waiters name was Jamie. He was friendly, knowledgeable, accurate, and attentive 5 stars for Jamie. It was just my wife and I, and we were very happy not only with the service and the food but the total time the dining experience lasted. We gave our orders at 7:30 p.m. and by 8:35 p.m. the meal was complete. We were stuffed, happy, and walking to our vehicle.

Yelp
The Belvedere Inn is a charming and historic restaurant with a beautiful setting. My husband and I enjoyed the outdoor area. It was warm and inviting. The service was outstanding. Our waitress provided us excellent service. She welcomed us with a warm and friendly greeting. She provided efficient service between taking our order, filling our drinks and bringing out the food. The food was served so elegantly. She definitely went above and beyond. She even said Happy Anniversary. The food was delicious and well prepared from the plate setting to how the food was served. My husband and I started out with steamed mussels. They were full of flavor and presented at the table perfectly. The mussels were cooked excellent. We also each had the pan-seared Salmon over top of wild rice, lump crab meat, roasted butternut squash with a spicy coconut curry and chili oil. I normally don't tolerate spicy foods well however this plate was my all time favorite. I loved everything about it. For dessert we had the mango cheesecake. I am a fan of cheesecake this with the mango and pineapple compote was so refreshing. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family at our next gathering.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and service. I've had the lamb salmon and muscles and all have been amazing. They have a great selection of scotch and their cocktails are high quality. The ambience is also really nice. Very moody and sophisticated with live music upstairs.

Yelp
First time here and the place was awesome from the host to the waiter we had made you feel like you knew them for years food was great. Will be back soon

Yelp
SO good! My husband and I came for our anniversary. We had tried it once before but this experience was like doing a 180. First, the staff is so kind and you genuinely feel like they care. Our server was amazing! She did a great job providing recommendations and answering all questions we had. The food - wow! So good. We split plenty of things and everything had so much flavor. Also, their dirty martini is one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend as well as reservations.
google avatar

Shannon G.

Yelp
Food was excellent, service was impeccable. Most people was very dressed up but a few embodied more of a casual, fine dining attire. It was late on a Friday evening, very loud so not overly romantic if that's what you are going for. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
I haven't been to Belvedere Inn since before Covid. I didn't see the restaurant redo as they were too busy however my favorite spot has always been the gorgeous sophisticated bar. We had the best aperol spritz and since I came back from Italy and drinking them everyday it was a delight. We were going to American Music theater n so grabbed some appetizers. We shared the tuna tostada n spinach artichoke dip. Both were very good. The bar was full so we were able to nab 2 seats against the wall with our backs to the bar n yet we had exceptional service from the bartender. So nice to visit there again

Yelp
The food was very good and perfectly cooked. Our server Jimmy was very professional and helpful, always polite and approachable. The ambiance is very upscale and inviting. Overall it was a perfect date night.

Yelp
ALWAYS A PLEASURE DINING AT THE BELVEDERE! Lindsay was our server! She was bursting energy. She was attentive, knowledgeable, witty, and all around exceptional in her craft. The cocktails from the bar were top notch. The meal was outstanding! My lovely wife and I dined on the Southern Fried Oysters and Korean BBQ Quail to start. We followed this with half orders of the Beet and Goat Cheese Salad and the Roasted Carrot Salad. The main course were the best yet! We had the Surf n Turf special featuring 8oz Filet Mignon, 3 Seared Scallops, Au Gratin Potato, Onion Jam, Black Truffle Demi Glacé, and Roasted Carrots. Every bite was perfection. My wife enjoyed the Sea Scallops with House Gnocchi and Smoked Mussel Cream. The scallops were monstrous , perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The Belvedere is a gem in Lancaster! Can't wait for our next visit. Thank you all!!! Kris and Beth LeHardy

Yelp
We got in early enough to enjoy some drinks at happy hour. Second floor bar is the way to go! Tons of great apps to start that included Tartare, Calamari and the hot chicken tacos. The bisque was a little thin and lacked sherry. I went for the duck and asked for it med rare but it came out lacking any pink. Flavors were on point but she must have been the last picked at the prom or someone else got some slices of my breast. My son had the burger and the flavors were on point. Wine list was good and if I didn't mention it, the dirty martini at happy hour was great!
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
An amazing location and a visual look that makes it feel like it's both from an other time and on the forefront of style. This is a great date night spot where you can enjoy a good meal, some adult beverages and forget about the clock for a little bit. The dining area is wonderfully dimmed, creating a romantic atmosphere. The food is different from your standard steakhouse or chophouse, and makes use of delicious reduction causes, unique approaches to starches and vegetables and flavorful seasoning. Some of the food may not be everyone's cup of tea as it can be on the creative side. If you're a straight meat and potatoes type, or like basic dishes, you might feel like a little overwhelmed. But if you like to expand your horizons a little, and appreciate trying new takes on familiar items, you'll likely find something you enjoy. Belvedere Inn has grown in popularity since it opened and that has created somewhat of a feeling that it's not the trendy place to visit. Some of the crowd can be a little...self-involved, and it does impact the experience compared to several years back. However, I can understand why this place would be a draw for certain crowds. It's very well-executed.

Yelp
Entrees of scallops and salmon are the real stars! They cooked the seafood so well. Ambiance: dark, romantic vibe. The acoustics are bad so it's very noisy when full. A lot of people coming and going so it feels a little cramped. Cute lighting and decor. Apps: we got the steamed mussels and the arancini. The steamed mussels were good but I found the sauce lacking in flavor despite having lots of good ingredients; it seemed watered down. The arancini balls were delicious, but I didn't care for the pesto or cajun mayo, both lacked flavor for me. Entrees: We got the seared scallops and salmon plus a salad as one of our entrees. The scallops and salmon were both amazing! Perfectly cooked which isn't always the case with both. I loved the german/Pennsylvanian dutch take on scallops with a pierogi, mustard sauce, and cabbage. Delicious! Dessert: very good! We got the crème brûlée and a pear or apple tart. Both were delectable, but crème brûlée won my vote. Food recs: I recommend skipping the apps and getting the entrees, salads, and desserts. Although I've heard great things about the belvy bread as an app. Overall, great place in Lancaster for a nice meal!

Yelp
I got engaged the 15th and Alyssa noticed we were trying to take photos and offered to take photos anywhere we wanted, we offered money and she said as long as we were happy that's all she needed. She was so amazing and gave us life changing photos we will cherish forever 10/10 for Alyssa. If you go here and want to feel like sex in the city and order a cosmo you need Dakota. (And Alyssa) I've always loved cosmos but ever since I've had Dakota's cosmo I will not drink others. Add that he's amazing and attentive.

Taylor O.

Yelp
I have been frequenting the Belvedere for their happy hour and late night specials this summer, and I just say I am thoroughly impressed. I love their $8 espresso martinis and I have sampled and enjoyed nearly all of their appetizers. The wait staff are always extremely friendly and attentive, I have never had any issues with service. I love the atmosphere of the Belvedere, it's always a great place to catch up with friends and family.

Yelp
I realized I forgot to write a review for this restaurant which we went to for our anniversary. Food and drinks were outstanding! Service was professional and friendly. Semi-formal/business dress attire. Fancy and unique. Perfect for a romantic evening!

Yelp
I have been a patron of The Belvedere for many years. Sadly, it is no longer a staple on my go-to list. The nostalgia has been swept away. I started noticing a decline with the last chef change, but this past visit was the worst yet. Wagyu Bao Bun Sliders for $14? Unheard-of. That was the first red flag. To my surprise, our server did not ask how I would like it cooked. The presentation was poor. Let's throw some budget meat with a slice of American cheese in torn buns and slap it on a plate. That was not wagyu. It was overcooked hamburger that was devoid of flavor. Patties not large enough to fill the bao buns. And if you've ever had a bao bun before, you'll know this isn't it. Bao buns are fluffy, airy, petite little clouds of perfection. I would be embarrassed to call this a bao bun. In fact, the bao bun has been disrespected! The entire plate was a misfire. A wilted piece of lettuce tucked under the bun, an Asian inspired sweet sauce that paired terribly with the cheese and meat, and some kind of unidentifiable pickled (yet tasteless) vegetable. Not to mention, I was terribly sick when I got home! My friend ordered the crab cakes and sent them back. He was only able to muster through half of one cake. Very fishy and didn't taste fresh.
google avatar

Siri P.

Yelp
I appreciate how well the staff took care of us, while we had my mother who had issues walking and hearing (they kept us on the ground floor and asked all the right questions). We weren't rushed, and the staff stayed kind and consistent. Dinner and wine suggestions were honest and great! We'll never be back in that town for any reason other than a surprise, but wish this place all the best and want to mention it was the best meal we had in PA during our entire stay! We are well traveled and have seasoned palates as a group, and I was delighted that everyone left extremely happy (finally!).
google avatar

Carrie R.

Yelp
I'm lowering my review. I was happy the food (at least at the bar) was improved. I enjoyed every bite. I will say I had a great time but it seems Kevin, the bar tender is no longer there. This downgrades my experience many stars. I guess friendly but aloof is their vibe so Kevin isn't there. I will take my dollars wherever Kevin lands.... I can eat top end food anywhere and get some excellent drinks from someone I might vaguely know, but friendly bar with a good vibe that is also top end is actually harder to come by. Too bad Belvedere decided they wouldn't be that place.

Yelp
Dean and his team have thru the years delivered a creative and flavorful cuisine combined w effluent unobtrusive service. I have loads of fun when dining at the Belvedere. And you'll not find better food any in the Lancaster area

Yelp
Absolutely the best experience we have had dining out in a long time. Our server, Alysa, was like our best friend and made us feel so welcomed the whole evening. Actually, I made reservations for Sunday and when we arrived they couldn't find them. I proceecded to show them where I booked them online and here it was for the upcoming Sunday. Oops. Well they were so accomodating and found a table for us and it was uphill from there. The food was absolutely devine and the drinks were awesome. We were having such a great time we asked where we could go afterwards and she recommended the 401, which they own as well, and thats where we headed. The positive experience continued with drinks with the bartendender Mike and of course we had to have another dessert. The whole evening was just spectacular and made me want to move to Lancaster. Coming from Chambersburg (an hour and a half away) we don't get to experience this upscale dining and exceptional service very often and truly appreciated the experience we had this evening. I can't say enough positive. We can't wait to go back.....what are you waiting for? Go enjoy life at it's best!

Jacob M.

Yelp
Amazing experience. Went here for birthday. Awesome. Pinot Grigio is solid and the noir is better. Food is spectacular. Oysters were straight from the sea. The sirloin was straight diesel. Service was wonderful. I would recommend to anyone in the area and will be coming back.

Wendy N.

Yelp
Ambiance was nice. Service was good.Had reservations and seated promptly. Party had a couple of the mixed drink specials, which were okay. Fried Oysters were very good. Signature bread was basic tomato foccacia fare, nothing special. Carrot salad disappointing as it was mostly greens and hardly any carrots. Pork with a cassoulet type preparation was not good. The pork was so salty, it was unedible. Clearly overbrined. The carrot cake was really a spice cake, did not taste like a carrot cake. Would NOT go back.

Yelp
Dined here on a December weeknight. Place was absolute packed which tells you something--the Belvedere continues to be a go-to spot in Lancaster. It's been a staple of the Lancaster restaurant scene for several years and is going strong. We enjoyed great dinners (grilled Caesar with steak tips; pork tenderloin house special) and cocktails. 10/10 food and service. We love to come downtown to Lancaster in December to see the gorgeous Christmas lights and decor and the Belvedere can't be beat for holiday cheer and a great meal.

Yelp
As always, the food was excellent, but we were extremely distressed with the service. Alicia was our server, who was an excellent demonstration of how high end restaurant servers should not behave. When I was served a vegetarian Caesar salad in which bacon was discovered throughout, Alicia's response was to evaluate how MUCH bacon was in the salad, and told us she had instructed the kitchen correctly, I guess telling us it was not her fault. Granted, but a replacement of that salad with an apology would have made it right. This was disappointing. In fact, I was told, "You can pick through it". Of course, we were charged for that meaty salad. I was informed that extra blue cheese crumbles would be charged extra. Really, pretty poor form for an upscale menu with $40 plus entree items. Given that bacon was served to a 30 year plus vegetarian, I think mentioning that extra bleu cheese was an up charge left a poor taste in our mouth. Not thinking we will be back. It takes a lot for me to publicly complain about a server by name, but the thinly veiled nastiness of this server, with a veneer of polish, was enough to make us swear off this favorite of ours for 20 plus years. On the bright side, Wes the second floor barkeep remains the most excellent bartender in Lancaster.

Yelp
Visiting from LA it's Sunday, the place is packed. We got two seats at the upstairs bar. Zack, the all Star bar tender is giving us suggestions. I'm not picky, but I do live by the belief that if you do something, you should do it well! This team does it well. Trusts Zack's knowledge of his wine list + pairings, he knows what he's doing! Mussels - do it Tuna tartare- yes Grilled Caesar - get the large, cheese on the side Duck- kinda chewy, but good
