Such a wonderful place to hang out. The staff were super friendly. An owner was onsite and was super friendly and knowledgeable. Their beer was great overall lots of onsite options across most popular styles of beer. Plus a great to go selection of amazing beers. Dog friendly patio was a special treat to my pups. Overall this brewery is a great place to hang and enjoy tasty drinks.

Come have a beer at one of the most architecturally pleasing taprooms around. The beer is award winning, you know this, but the total experience from the chatty barmen to the great soundtrack and obviously THE BEER. Rare is it to find a spot that just doesn’t miss. Trad beer styles? Check. Hops? Check. Rich dark oily stouts?… Check. Lots of regulars which is always good to see. Come get some Big Friendly beer.

This place lives up to its name. All bar staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I tried 3 different beers and of all the OKC beer I've had, these were the best. The atmosphere was pleasant with a variety of music playing, live plants everywhere and a nice patio space for when the weather is cooperating. There is a lovely taco place across the street, grab some grub and bring it over to pair with your beer. You don't wanna miss this place.

The Big Friendly may be small in size, but it definitely lives up to its name! We took a little drive around the charming neighborhood before stopping in for a drink, and we’re so glad we did. The vibe is welcoming, the beer selection is great, and the atmosphere is just right for both adults and kids. I tried the Blackberry Blossom and it quickly became a new favorite—delicious and refreshing! The space itself is cozy but offers both indoor and outdoor seating, which gave us the flexibility to find the perfect spot to relax. One of my favorite features was the sweet little room under the stairs filled with kids' books—it’s such a thoughtful touch for families. They also had fun branded merch, including hats and even some items for kids (perfect for beer-loving parents looking for a souvenir). Plus, we scored a few free stickers to add to our growing collection! We also enjoyed the pizza place right next door and loved that there’s a playground just outside—it made for the perfect, low-key afternoon with something for everyone. If you're in the area, The Big Friendly is absolutely worth a visit. Great beer, good vibes, and a spot the whole family can enjoy!

Been here twice now. The beer is great (highly recommend the Astral Traveling). Love that they also offer cider and wine, since my girlfriend isn't a beer drinker. Now we have somewhere we both can go and get something we enjoy. The space is nice, with good indoor and outdoor options for seating. Service is friendly, especially on our visit today (Friday 3/21 @ 1pm). Cool merch, etc. Definitely my new go-to for Oklahoma City, along with Prairie.

Google
Best brewery in OK! I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints; no matter what style of beer you like, they do a great job. They have a beautiful brewery and there's a playground across the street as well, which makes it great for having it with kids. These guys were even awarded Best Brewery nationally for 2022 and 2023 at the Great American Beer Festival in Colorado. Make sure to check them out!

Update! Joe the owner reached out and extended a personal invitation and apologized for the bad experience. Joe was ABSOLUTELY FRIENDLY and personal! They have a selection of GREAT IPA’S!!! Amazing flavors. Their stouts WOW delicious 🤤! We had an amazing taste of beers sorry we couldn’t hold more but we’re taking some home! Thank you Joe! ♥️🙌🏻 We hope someday we can host you and your family! Hugs🤗 Darin and Karys Morgan Not friendly at all! The place was almost empty. I walked in while the bartender was talking to a couple… she didn’t even looked up I sat at the other end of the bar, my husband walked in 5 min. later and after the couple left she began to clean completely oblivious to our presence! I had enough and got up and began taking pictures of her cleaning I stood by the door still taking pictures 10 min waiting she asked him if he wanted another beer! We’ve been visiting local breweries and rating beers until the. in the area and this has been the writer experience ever in alll the breweries we’ve visited here and abroad ***^

Went for a group happy hour. The area/neighborhood is really cute, the service was good and quick. I loved how each glass was cleaned after each pour, keeping my hands clean. The time of day we went was not crowded, so it was nice to relax and talk. I had the "difficult fun" munich beer and it tasted like I was back in Germany. Just for that beer and the ambiance I would go back. They have really nice hats and shirts for purchase and you can go across the street to Taco Nation to get food too. Last but not least, I loved all the plants they have growing.

Yelp
The server was super friendly. You have a lot of seating options from inside and outside. The inside is a plantlovers dream! The beer is averagely priced. Their hop water had a bit of a lemon taste.

Yelp
This brewery is in the cutest little village kind of place. It's beautiful inside and out. The pop up pumpkin patch was so cute. Beer was wonderful with lots of options. Staff were friendly. I'll be back.

Yelp
We opted to stop here instead of closer to downtown OKC when passing thru town, and I'm so glad we did. Every beer we had was delicious and it's just a really cute well-designed spot. We grabbed a few flights and walked tacos over from next door. The staff was so nice and even ran back to grab some spare plastic silverware to save us from running back to the taco place. If you like house plants, you're also going to love gazing at all the varieties on the shelves. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is a comfortable brewery with nice seating and 'friendly' staff. The beer selection was okay. Didnt find a favorite but would still return as it is a relaxing place.

Paul S.

Yelp
No food, but they don't advertise they do. Taco Nation next door closed early. Service acceptable and friendly. No complaints. Ambiance cool and laid back. Lots of good beer.

Yelp
From San Diego so always like to try local spots and taste the local spots. By far the best beer I have had in my life! Had the Hazy, the west coast and the stout and all were amazing! If you are in town looking for a spot to chill and enjoy great beer than make sure you pull up!

Yelp
This is a brewery where I almost exclusively visit when it's nice out to hang on their patio. While I've been inside some too, it's the neighborhood patio vibe that makes The Big Friendly unique among OKC breweries. They always have a large selection of new beers too. It is fun to see this part of town develop and they have it made with Taco Nation right there for food. While I forget about it from time to time due to not driving by it regularly, I'm always glad when I remember and come back here!

Yelp
5/5 here's why: They excel at wet, juicy, hop-forward NE IPAs. Team Big Friendly works hard to offer a constantly evolving tap selection-what they do, they do well. Their complex big bold flavors keep me coming back for more. Have friends that aren't into NE IPA's? They have a well-rounded selection including lagers, sours, stouts, and wine. The simple, yet modern, tap room transports you into a laid back hipster-ish New Mexican experience. I'd say their taproom is probably the coolest taproom in OKC. It's soul really sings and vibrates with joy, especially if there are holidays in the air, and I find it to be a joy-filled hangout space. Their staff is attentive, kind, welcoming, and funny; all that you'd hope for while in this magical space. The outside space can bustle with family-friendly activities. There is an outdoor playground onsite at Taco Nation, easily accessible if you are at the Big Friendly. Plus, being in the Wheeler District means you can take a walk around the neighborhood either before or after your experience at The Big Friendly. It's a great way destination if you're looking to stretch your legs or take a family walk. Team Big Friendly and Team Taco Nation are neighbors in the Wheeler District. Both teams promote the beer + tacos onsite experience. Whether you bring your tacos over to the Big Friendly or bring your brew over to Taco Nation, the teams are all for it. Pro tips: ** their boutique pumpkin patch which starts in mid to late September and runs throughout the fall is not to be missed. Their picnic table space outside is filled to the brim with gorgeous gourds of all kinds, available for purchase. **the Big Friendly is located in the Wheeler District. There's kinds of family-oriented events happening throughout the year. Check out social media pages for @wheelerdistrict @thebigfriendly @thebigfriendlyracingokc and @taconationokc before coming so you can be in-the-know of the local events. October 2022

Yelp
WOW What a GREAT place to hang out & drink a cold frosty beer. Yes sir. You want a fresh, state of the ART, cold beer. Well come here, just check the times on their website & come have a cold beer.

Yelp
So no food here but there is a legit taco place right next door. Now for the important part. The beer here is awesome. Great decor. Lots of seating. Even has a mezzanine. Outdoor space is open with loads of seating. Its the beer that shines. I had the stout, belgian and saison and they were as good as they were different. Man I would like to pack this place in my bag and take it home. Loved it. Go here!

Yelp
We are new to the OKC area and were itching to find a new brewery spot to hang out with our kids. The Big Friendly was an instant favorite! Amazing beer selection, kind staff, and beautiful building. There's a playground and taco restaurant directly across from the brewery as well, which was perfect for our toddler. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
The atmosphere of this place is absolutely enchanting, and I find myself feeling a deep affection for it.

Yelp
This brewery is nice and clean, well kept and full of friendly staff and customers. My first visit In and I will definitely go back! Tried some great beers and fell in love with their Joe Raspberry beer! If you haven't tried this yet, don't wait any longer!!! Definitely a 10/10 for me-full of flavor...sweet and a little tart but but as tart as a sour beer. Love their patio and that you can bring in food from next door even!

Yelp
What a fun brewery! It is located in the Wheeler District. Not many people know about it. The beers were fantastic and the staff was very friendly. Clean inside. There's an upstairs with couches. The outdoor patio is great and its across from a food area. Nice chill place to hang out and drink beer that's not overly crowded.

Grant B.

Yelp
We were there on an early but hot Friday afternoon. The bar tenders helped us with a few sample pours before settling on a couple different beers. Everything we had was great, especially the blueberry. We're looking forward to a nicer weather day to relax on their patio. Only complaint was the picnic tables outside were not very comfortable.

Yelp
I tried 3 beers here and liked them all. I started with the Saison Musette, followed by the Leslie with its a strawberry farmhouse ale. The latter is extremely smooth and nice. But my favorite was the Longbarn, which is a lovely Porter. The employees were nice. The outdoor area, which is dog friendly has several wooden picnic tables. The inside is too cute with curved Archways. I definitely had a good time.

Yelp
I couldn't rave about this place enough! Beer was fantastic, bartender was great, and the venue is amazing. We had a few hours to kill before our flight home and stopped in. As a parent of a young child, the added details for kids was incredible! Diapers on the nice changing tables, little brewery book nook, pumpkin patch... the list can go on. We will definitely be back, and will recommend with zero hesitation for anyone in OKC.

Yelp
This is one of the coolest taprooms in terms of design. It's designed to let in so much natural light and the loft space is really nice. They also have a nice outdoor patio, but we stuck with the inside since it was a blistering hot Oklahoma afternoon. I wasn't overly impressed with their beers, very meh, especially in comparison to the other breweries nearby in the main downtown area. It is nice to see a brewery in the Wheeler District. Otherwise, not much in the brewery with regards to food or entertainment (i.e. games, TVs, etc). Bartender was super friendly though! I was interested in buying some merch, but they did not have a lot yet, so they're still very new.

Yelp
The staff here is great! The choice of beer is great. All different choices for the different pallets of the tongue. Vibe is nice with a great Mexican restaurant next door

George G.

Yelp
Fantastic beer! As a home brewer and a brewery owner and beer connoisseur, I can attest that this brewery is amazing. Every single beer we tried was so on point. If you want to know what superb quality beer tastes like, start here... and stay here. Very impressive. We will definitely support this brewery going forward.

Yelp
Fantastic new addition to the up and coming Wheeler District neighborhood. Big Friendly has made the upgrade from the bus (which is still running) to a brick and mortar location and the transition has gone very well. I have been to Big Friendly a couple of times and sat outside both times. They have plenty of picnic tables throughout, and the tables were distanced well. Big Friendly opened during the winter of 2020 while the COVID pandemic was happening. But, they were able to do it right and do it well. Seating indoors is plentiful but for the pandemic they had people spaced out well. There is also seating upstairs, but I have not ventured that way yet. The bar is large and has a great selection of beers. We tried several but my favorites were Toast Tea (an English pale ale) and Longbarn (a Porter). The taps are rotating so unless you go daily (which you should if you can) you are likely going to find some new ones when you come back. As others note, Taco Nation is frequently parked at Big Friendly, which is yet another benefit of this place. The Wheeler District as a whole is going to be fantastic when it's completed, and Big Friendly is going to be a flagship location in this neighborhood for years to come. Very glad it's open and I will be back frequently.

Yelp
I've been going to The Big Friendly since they opened, and their beers are always excellent. Their location and their inside and outside venues are hard to beat. However, if there's one complaint about the place, is that they never keep any core beers. They seem to always want to be mixing up their menu, and that's good to keep things fresh, but most brews are only on tap for a few weeks; when they're gone they're gone.

Yelp
The Big Friendly is a great place to hang. Great for groups both big & small. Modern decor w/ lots of natural light that puts out a great vibe, and still feels cozy & comfortable. Awesome patio. Great service. Oh yeah, they make REALLY good beer to. I def have it in my top amongst the urban core breweries. Situated in the up & coming Wheeler district that already has several walkable entertainment options, with even more coming soon! (Psycho Taco among them) I pop in at least once a month to see their new seasonal rotators, of which there is always new additions. Excellent spot!! Drink local!

Yelp
We love their new brewery. Sweet addition to the Wheeler area. Very nice brewery were lots of natural light and green plants. Their selection of brews are great and cater to all beer preferences. The service is top notch. And best of all they were open during the winter holidays. Always a pleasure to come here! Highly recommend. Make sure you pick up a growler to take home.

Yelp
We have been frequenting places that are local and also implementing social distancing practices. We walked into the Big Friendly, not knowing what to expect. The brewery is located in a new concept neighborhood. Walking into the brewery, I noticed all the employees wore masks and tables marked off for social distance. We quickly looked over the menu and decided to order the stout and a pale ale. The seating downstairs was full, but they have an upstairs with a mix of tables and some soft seating. We chose a table but quickly moved over to the couch for a more relaxed setting. I marked this review as a 4 star and not a 5 star because of the parking. The only parking we could find that day was pretty limited street parking--definitely a place in OKC to check out.

Ryan B.

Yelp
Easy 5/5 stars here! This brewery makes the BEST beer in Oklahoma and it's not even close. IPAs, sours, stouts, etc., are just absolutely fantastic. You can tell that they source locally because the beer is so fresh! I come here with my girlfriend quite often and we just can't talk more highly of this place!

David G.

Yelp
From Beer Bus to Brewery, they have come full circle and doing it well! The beer is great (and cold!) and the atmosphere is amazing with an outdoor patio and great taproom. Add to that The Taco Nation bus outside serving amazing tacos and you have a match made in heaven!

Cían D.

Yelp
Very chill atmosphere tucked in a new community. Seems like the pleasantville vibe where all the community will gather. Prefect place if you have kids, there's a playground right next to it. The beer was alright, I had the wit and saison. Saison was a bit more tart, but good and the wit had more body than I anticipated - more Belgium tasting than German

Zach H.

Yelp
Love this taproom and brewery! Great beer, beautiful space, kid friendly touches! A great space to connect with community. Thanks, Joe!
