If you are hot and sweaty after a day in the Coral Gables or Miami area, consider a therapeutic visit to the Cellar Club Bar at the Biltmore Coral Gables. You will find as I did that the Biltmore Bar is a great place to meet friends, talk about golf and just unwind. José and Katherine will do their utmost to make your day excellent. If you’re a late night visitor - ask Jeffery to do the same! I have just finished my third Budweiser and I am feeling like joining this “Cellar Club” as a permanent member. Actually, that old Boston bar called “Cheers” has nothing on The Biltmore Bar. Here it’s just straightforward bar talk. Come and see if my opinion is one you can share! Cheers! From the Cellar Club Bar at Biltmore Coral Gables. Oh by the way there is a 10 star golf course and the most beautiful swimming pool in North America here too.

They have great bartenders. Who make the best recommendations. I highly suggest you try the Guava Passion. Also you can't go wrong with an Old Fashion!

I’m so sad to write this review. Absolutely disappointing experience. The Biltmore is not what it once was. Ruined by time. Ruined by the new face of the Gables. Lucky to have experienced them while they were special. Now it’s casual, smelly, old but with a cheap crowd. Explains why they have attracted this new segment of society. It’s no longer special, upscale or a treat. Our drinks were just ok. I’m pretty sure that I did not get the vodka that I ordered. I’m sensitive to what I drink and I know when I’ve had something other than what I am accustomed to drinking. We all joked that we felt poisoned. Who knows what alcohol they gave us. I’ll not return unless they are restored to their previous level. End of an era!

So much has changed, the food was never that good , but now the service is really bad. Poorly stocked. Pre packaged condiments. A good chef cuts all his French fries evenly, for uniform cooking. Also the bartender kept on putting disgusting incense after I asked her to put it out. U wanted to leave but there was no check or continuous service. I had to wait and wait in me seat because I didn't want to twist my neck

Since time travel is still impossible, and even if you don’t drink, why not visit this quiet bar reminiscent of Golden Age Hollywood encounters and listen to a well-versed piano man? It’s cheaper than a theme park, classier, and helps avoid the train-wreck of some unforeseen karaoke encounter at a nearby pub. Cheer’s looking at you, kid.

Very nice place to chill and listen to good music, they have a piano player live almost all the night and the bartender and servers gives an excellent service.

Classy bar. Very attentive staff. Say hello to Mr. Octavio. One of the best bartenders in Miami. Cheers.

Yelp
Nice hotel bar. Staff were friendly and the drinks strong. Don't expect a craft cocktail but you will be pleased by their execution of traditional cocktails such as martinis and old fashioned.

Yelp
This is my new favorite bar to get a drink. The vibes here are amazing! So classy and upscale I love it. We stopped here on a Saturday night after getting dinner with my in-laws. They were raving about how much they enjoyed the Biltmore Bar when they were here a few weeks prior, so we all decided to go together. Despite it being a weekend, we got a table right as we walked in. All the seats at the bar also appeared to be available, but were all taken within a half hour after we showed up. They had live music that was wonderful. It just added to the ambiance. Our server came over pretty quickly and we ordered drinks. They have a huge drink selection and I think they are well priced despite it being The Biltmore. I got the Heartbreaker martini for $18 and it was so delicious! It was light and fruity, just what I was looking for. My husband got an espresso martini that was also delish. Our server left us to hang out but periodically checked on us. I just loved everything about this place. If you're looking for a refined, chill environment to enjoy a drink, definitely come here.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this bar. Great cocktails, good service, and an old school ambiance. Will definitely come back for a pre or post dinner drink when in the Gables.

Yelp
I hate to say this but this is the place where staff will serve you less if you are not dressed up in executive or formal or golfing attire than those who are. I went as Maid of Honor to stay over night for my best friend's wedding. I thought we were going directly to bed or hanging out at the hotel room so as a busy mom, I went directly with leggings and a Tshirt, fresh out shower, ready for bed. Lol. My group wanted to go to the bar for a bit. I had a MOH speech to deliver and my voice was soar, near getting a cold. The waiter had given my group a not so welcoming service though they were all drinking calmly but I told the waiter if I could please have some tea. Anything else wouldn't help me for tomorrow. He literally told me he doesn't have time to serve me tea. My bestfriend got upset at that point and told him, "could you just bring us some hot water and the tea bag and she'll literally do the rest herself, man?" He left to attend other parties and a while later he brought me hot water and lemons that I didn't even touch the lemons - having worked in the restaurant business before, with that attitude and "being too busy", you question his choice of not touching the lemons with dirty hands while grabbing them. I was charged for it by the way. Lol The ambience, live singing and food are nice though, I have been back to the Biltmore twice for different events as guest but though it is the Biltmore's hang out area, I haven't wanted to come back to the area that is very vain and made me feel like less of something with not serving me. What if I was pregnant and couldn't drink and just wanted tea? I've been in that position before. Please take this as learning lesson.. Please teach your staff to not reject a person by means of what they're ordering or how they're dressed. The Biltmore isn't cheap, we all know that, but it's also a hotel and we aren't strolling there by casualty. That night I was a tired mom preparing to take on a long day for my best friend. I had priorities. My party was drinking all kinds of drinks, one had even ordered his Macallan since he works for the Macallan brand. My bestfriend is a Product Owner at one of the most pioneering companies here in South Florida, the other a Marketing Specialist and wedding planner, with her husband an engineer visiting from NYC. It's just to explain we weren't a roudy young crowd. We're all young professionals and were trying to enjoy the bar, as you can see from my "water with lemon" picture. Lol.. I'm so shook the waiter said he didn't want to serve me. It was just very condescending of an experience that I was as if "annoying" to be served that won't bring me back. I go to events at the Biltmore invited for work but when asked if I want to go to the Bar, I tell them to why I don't.

Yelp
Very fancy old school bar located in one of the most iconic hotels in Coral Gables. Go back in time or imagine you are in a bar in France or Spain. It's a bit pricey but worth it for a treat every once in a while.

Yelp
Arrived at the Biltmore a bit before my dinner reservation on Wednesday evening so decided to have a cocktail first at the Biltmore Bar. Just tried one of the cocktails and enjoyed some of the snacks provided to our table. Quality The drink I had was pretty standard, nothing where I feel like I would need to recommend it for the world. They are mostly slightly updated takes on your classic drinks. They also brought out some warm mixed nuts and wasabi peas, which were definitely heavy on the wasabi. Quantity Both my girlfriend and I ordered a drink off the cocktail menu and they were of decent size. Value All the drinks on the menu were pretty pricey, so I wouldn't really see this as a place for more than one drink. Ambiance The Biltmore Bar is located in the lower level of the Biltmore Hotel, right near the restaurants. It is done in the style of Old Hollywood, which is pretty cool because you can imagine the stars of the past vacationing at this hotel. I also feel that Miami is a very modern city and even its older historical sites have an 80s vibe to them. The Biltmore though is an institution and the Biltmore Bar seems to have that classic charm built in. The bar is darker and wood, with many mirrors giving it a deceivingly large feel. The walls have portraits of former film greats and the tables all have antique chairs around them. The music was classical and jazz, and they even had a piano in the corner, probably for special occasions. Unlike so many recent bars that are attempting to have a prohibition or speakeasy style, this place feels like it doesn't need to try to be that. Crowd It was a very old crowd, and I am not exaggerating when I say almost every bit of conversation I overheard was about someone who had recently died. We were without question the youngest people there, by quite some years too. I would not expect this to be a place that every got too lively. Service Almost as soon as we sat a waitress came over with a menu and snacks. Hard to complain about quick and friendly service. Parking Unlike so many other places across Miami, the Biltmore has a huge parking lot, so no need to worry about hunting or paying for a spot. They have valet too if you really feel the need for it. Extra The Biltmore Bar effortlessly provides what so many other bars attempt to create, the stylish sophistication of eras long gone. Unfortunately the drinks are a bit pricey and the crowd is mostly folks from those eras long gone. I would not be surprised if I stopped back in next time I am at the hotel, but I do not see myself going out of my way to come by.

Yelp
I have been to the Biltmore Hotel many times for different events. I had never been for a drink at the Biltmore bar until yesterday. The atmosphere is refined and feels very exclusive. Some might say a little stuffy. I ordered a Cosmopolitan and really enjoyed it. The service was cordial. I felt very relaxed being there. I was able to have a quiet and concentrated conversation with the people I was with. This is a great bar if you want to have a cozy 1 on 1 conversation. It did feel a little bit musty there. Otherwise I think it is a destination bar if you are in the area.

Yelp
Perfect place to eat. The food were delicious and the service is very nice. Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was the right choice. The food were not expensive and the view at the pool and at the garden were amazing!! The birthday dessert there was very tasty. I would come here again and would highly recommend this place

Yelp
You can get all kinds of food and drink in this ground floor place but it has something of a hobbit house about it, dark paneling, very comfortable chairs in which you could easily fall asleep, and soft lighting even in daytime. Very relaxing Crispy fresh, old school martini, but a lot of other choices, relaxed bar, nice to talk, less noice, just very good The Bar has a Piano player who will do requests, makes for a great evening or just pre dinner cocktails!

Yelp
The Biltmore Hotel is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at... The service is great and the food was to die for... I had all my meals there for three days and I didn't want to go anywhere else... The hotel is suppose to be haunted, but I didn't experience anything crazy... The only thing that impressed me, was the huge pool... I would go back again and again... Next time I'll stay for the brunch....

Yelp
What can I say about the Biltmore Bar located inside the Biltmore hotel in Coral Gables. It is amazing! My wife and I went to celebrate a recent anniversary and we had a great night there. They had a pianist playing for most of the evening and he sounded great. There is no cover and the cocktails are amazing. This place is very classy and I highly recommend you visit.

Yelp
Honestly, what more could one ask for? The atmosphere is...well, the Biltmore. The walls look like they're made from carved ivory and are accented with black and white pictures of celebrities at the Cannes Film Festive (continuing the Palme D'Or theme). Very nice. The service was spot on. Our server was delightful, prompt, and helpful--a trifecta. The drinks were excellent...I had a "Sapphire Bramble" which consists of Bombay Sapphire, Chambord, lemon, and agave nectar. Delicious and quite strong. My friend had the Caipirinha de Uva--equally as satisfying--and made of Leblon, lime, grapes, and agave nectar. Inventive drinks for an old dog... All in all, a great place to spend a few moments. Open until 1:30AM every night, the Biltmore may very well become my Gables watering hole.

Yelp
Good happy hour, extensive selection, classy and friendly atmosphere....always a good time. All I'm missing sometimes is my top hat and monocle..mmm, yes. But in all seriousness, it is also considered a special place for me since its where my husband and some of our close relatives went to unwind after my wedding reception.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful bar. It has a great old world feel - almost like going back in time! I went here for a glass of wine after going to the spa and it was the first time I had ever been to the Biltmore, so it was a really neat experience. I was pleasantly surprised that it was happy hour, though I had wine, so I'm not sure how the mixed drinks are. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. They also have live music here starting at (I think) 7ish every night. It's mostly of the jazz persuasion. I'll be back another night when it's already dark outside and I don't feel like I'm wasting daylight by being in a dark bar :)

Yelp
Extremely cozy. And intimate. Perfect for a drink alone to contemplate what you want to do with your life, and write it down on a Bitmore Bar napkin. Not saying I did this. Service is great, and again, the atmosphere is nook-like. Bartenders will get you a drink how you want it, and you can even call it crafty. They also have at least one guy playing great jazz music. Also, ask about the ghost stories. You'll want to ride the Biltmore Hotel elevator a few times.

Yelp
This is truly a hidden gem! My husband and I were out (something we don't get to do often due to the kids and my mum use to sit for me before she passed away) and looking for something to do. We decided to go down to the bar and was blown away! When we first entered it was a dark, sexy ambience about the bar and we were the only ones in at the time which was fine with us. We were greeted by the bartender Octavio (which by the way was fabulous!) and his well known knowledge of the drinks. The bar soon filled with other stragglers and then the piano man started playing. First let me say, the drinks made by Octavio were impeccable! You can't go wrong with any drink Octavio makes! My drink along with my husbands were delicious! Octavio was trying to have my husband try this cucumber gin drink, but my husband is a very picky man and turned it down. Octavio had to make the drink for another customer and gave my husband a sample. My husband was blown away and I too! It's the perfect drink to sit beach side. I also ordered a side of pulled pork tacos which were very delicious. Just the ambience and service kept us there pretty much all night and or convos with the bartender and some customers and servers were awesome. My husband and I were just going to go down there to have a drink and then go out to have dinner and more drinks but we had such a lovely, intimate time we decided to stay. This is most def a place to check out if you're rooming at The Biltmore or if you're in the area and just want to sit back to a nice quite evening with some great drinks and nice appetizers.

Yelp
Sweet jazz nice drink selection. Great way to end work week! It is not your average bar hangout place. It is a bit more mellow.. From its rich wood colors and comfy seats you can enough a relaxing atmosphere while enjoying a delicious smooth drink. Live music was awesome. Nice bass accompanied by set of cool ivories! Really enjoyed ourselves..

Yelp
We hit the bar here on occasion, so thought we would write a review of it, after all ! The Biltmore is the quintessential hotel, where everything is classic old school, but not in a ''stuffy'' sense. From the hotel itself, to the fantastic golf course, to the magnificent pool, down to the cozy bar, everything is distinguished. The hotel rich design is steeped in history, and you just feel this as you walk through. The main biltmore bar includes jazz (I believe every night now); simple piano, or accompanied by cello or guitar on some nights, it's a great setting to cozy up on the couch, chat with friends around a table, or lean in with patrons or the bartender at the bar itself. Service is professional yet friendly, and everyone makes you feel right at home. Prices are on the higher side, and 18% is included in the check, but for the atmosphere, service and location, it's expected and deserved...and they DO have happy hoursto help us out !! : ) They also have a cellar club bar around the corner from the main bar; smaller yet cozy, and just outside the italian restaurant, and Cascades, located poolside, with an outdoor cafè / seating area that is FANTASTIC when cooler weather prevails. I recommend wandering the grounds at the hotel, relaxing by the pool at sunset or just after (the lighting around the pool is sensational), and then step in barside and enjoy the rest of the evening with a cocktail, cold beer or wine. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Strangely cold and alienating for what looks like a cozy little bar. Since Sean the bartender left it has become even more so. They have an extensive wine list but it looks like it is made up of every wine Southern Wine and Spirits can't sell. No small producers, nothing interesting and stingy pours to boot. They have even taken away the (Publix) platters they used to put out at happy hour.

Yelp
Fantastic New Year´s Eve!! We had such a wonderful evening with great wine and of course wonderful atmosphere. The service was excellent. The staff and hosts were warm especially when the piano was in full swing. Perfect choice of music and really nice performance. Service and attention to detail never faltered. What a wonderful way to welcome 2016! Highly recommended at any time!

Yelp
I had a little trouble deciding on how many stars to give the Biltmore Bar. Went there for the first time last Saturday with my hubby to listen to Bossa Nova. The music was amazing, very sexy and easy going. The lounge itself is very nice, kind of quiet and boring at first but it's very elegant and cozy. Service could be better, our waitress, Victoria, had a nice smile for lacked enthusiasm and energy. Drinks were great, especially since they had 1/2 price Belvedere vodka drinks and they were delicious. So, you are probably asking why only 3 stars??? Well, when we go to a lounge to listen to some music (which is not that often) we go with the intention of a nice, easy going evening. With good music, Mariana Martin and Claudio Spiewak were incredible. She has a sexy voice and he plays the guitar with amazing style. We go for some nice drinks and a few appetizers to accompany such drinks. BUT, when you are in such a nice, elegant place, enjoying soft wonderful Bossa Nova with amazing performers, the last thing you want to eat is a hamburger, a grilled cheese, a club sandwich or a salad....HELLO!!!! what in the world is that?!?!?!?! We were VERY disappointed at such menu. We will go again, depending on who's performing there but we'll be sure to have dinner before we go. It's a very nice place to enjoy a couple of drinks with that special someone or some friends but NOT to fill your tummy while your at it. BOSSA NOVA performers: 5stars Biltmore Lounge: 4 stars Service: 3 stars MENU: HORRIBLE!!! it's a mood killer

Yelp
What a beautiful, casual venue. Inside the Biltmore Hotel where nothing is second best, this place was a perfect spot for a nice quiet evening of easy jazz. The lounge was quaint, and the setting was comfortable and relaxed, and business casual seemed to be the overwhelming dress attire for the night. The friendly staff was very responsive, and attentive to our needs. Check the bill since there is an automatic 18% gratuity added in for your calculation convenience. There was wonderful lite jazz in the background at a perfect volume to carry on a nice conversation without having to talk loudly. The Jazz Band was a two piece Piano and Bass combo, and it is clear very accomplished musicians. Want a relaxed evening to have a couple of drinks, chat with someone in a beautiful quaint setting, I know I found it.

Yelp
I would have given five stars but the prices are outrageous. The saving grace is the quality of drinks and the service. I had a martini with Bombay Sapphire Gin - one of the best I have had. I actually had about three ... or four. I don't know - I lost count after #2. I thought the place would be hoity-toity but it was not too bad. My fiance and I actually struck up a conversation with the bartender, as well as with a man and his wife, which was funny because the guy and I graduated from the same highschool, albeit about 15 years apart.

Yelp
Many people in Miami probably think that the 4 or 5-star hotels in town are not the best places for locals. I beg to differ. The Biltmore Bar on the first floor of this beautiful and historic Coral Gables hotel is one of the nicest places in town to spend time at, regardless if you live here, or are just passing through. Since I patronize the Bar often, I have grown spoiled by the ambiance, rich woods and classy architecture, and basically, just the entire experience as a whole. It is difficult for me to go somewhere else. The bartenders, led by Octavio, can basically make almost any kind of drink your heart desires. Talent definitely lives here! It also doesn't matter if Jeannie, or Melissa, or on the weekends, Dayana, are working, service is always fast, very attentive, and professional. Lately at the Bar, I have indulging in creations like the Grasshopper (the liquid version of an Andies mint) or the Japanese slipper (a Midori-based concoction), and others, all made to perfection. The Bar has a daily happy hour, and monthly liquor specials. This month has been Ketel One vodka, with featured drinks like the Orange or Pomegranate cosmopolitans, Raspberry Tom Collins, or even the James Bond-inspired Vesper martini. The lemon drop vodka martini is my overall favorite....heaven! Live jazz plays daily, (the Bar is closed Sundays and Mondays), with extended play on Fridays and Saturdays...the professional musicians really add to the unique atmosphere. If you are hungry, the Bar has a nice menu, with selections like a turkey club, salads, Angus burgers, and an array of appetizers, including potato pierogies and yucca fries. Let's just say my waistline has suffered sampling these treats! There isn't much else to say, except, the next time you are nearby this landmark 87-year-old hotel one evening, I highly recommend making a pit stop to see the cavernous pool, incredible lobby, beautiful grounds, and of course, fun Biltmore Bar.
google avatar

Casey B.

Yelp
The bar at the Biltmore Hotel is a fun way for any local to switch it up from the high energy, sometimes overwhelming pace of many Miami bars. I went with a few friends when we wanted a relaxing night. The hotel itself is stunning, and the interior of the bar feels like it's from a different era. There happened to be a closed event going on the night we went there - so we took our drinks out by the pool and enjoyed the late night breeze. It was a great place to sit and chat and actually hear the people you are with. The drinks are unique and delicious as well, albeit a little spendy (though not much more than many Miami bars). We didn't try any food. I'd definitely recommend this bar for a night when you want something a little bit different and mellow.

Yelp
My friend and I were killing time before dinner one night and decided to drive down to coral gables around happy hour and we ended up here. Once you've entered this place it's like you've left Miami! Lots of places to wander by, beautiful architecture and this cozy bar

Yelp
The ambiance is great. The service and the quality isn't so good. Quality was average and not great for the cost. The service was very slow and I considered leaving but there's no where else to get to close by

Yelp
I loved this bar until recently. New management took away the half priced happy hour. Had the best value drinks for the service and ambiance. Not anymore. It's still nice, quiet and service is usually very good, but at full price, it's south beach pricing.
