Google
A friend of mine raved about this place so we had to give it a try. We ordered pick up. We got the family half chicken tenders and half chicken bites with mashed taters with gravy and fries. The chicken was good, lightly breaded and seasoned to perfection. The chicken bites are big- no small pieces. Our son loved dipping his chicken in the gravy and said it’s the best gravy he’s had. He loves country style gravy. We are a family of four and everyone ate and we still had leftovers. For our family, we feel the portions are great. Their cornbread with the raspberry butter hits different.

Google
Very yummy chicken. The tenders are crispy and made fresh. Other sides we got; coleslaw and mashed potatoes and gravy. Both got a thumbs up.

Google
Ordered from Door Dash, so, can't comment on atmosphere..but everything was exceptional. We will order again. I'm picky about chicken tenders..the breading was on point. Perfectly seasoned, not too thick or too thin.. and the tenders were huge. Their honey mustard was great as well as the ranch. Can't wait to try their sides.

Google
Feels more of a take out place than a dine-in since there are no tables and just a small counter for waiting. The chicken is all together good. Enough spices added with crispyness makes the chicken taste great. You also get a good portion size serving of fries to with your meal. A good pit-stop for craving chicken.

Google
We ordered the chicken sandwich, a few tenders, Mac and cheese, coleslaw and fries. The chicken sandwich was delicious. The seasoning on the chicken is a great blend of spices and really makes this sandwich perfect. They did add Mayo (which I don’t mind) but for people who do, ask for no Mayo. I would say this was better than the Chick-fil-a chicken sandwich so if looking to get away from CFA, I’d highly recommend The Bird. The tenders were good too. They were more like flatter chicken breasts than what i am used to for tenders but that’s was better anyways. I felt like I was getting more for my money. Speaking of which, this place has very competitive pricing too! Mac and cheese wasn’t anything special but if you prefer that over coleslaw or French fries, def try it out! The coleslaw was kind f frozen when I got it so I did let it thaw a bit first before diving too much into it. Ultimately, it ended up being pretty good. Nothing outstanding but this place is made for the chicken not the sides! I also ordered the market salad during a separate visit. It was quite large for the price and had super fresh ingredients. I wish it had more sugar snap peas than it did but I was still satisfied. They also put the mini bites in a separate container so they didn’t mix with the salad before ready to eat. I love that! Overall, I’m very happy to live so close to this place and will be checking them out pretty regularly.

Google
The food tastes good, and it's average priced.. But you cut one tender in half and call it two. Not cool.

Google
We decided to try The Bird for the first time on Saturday. Called in our order and it was ready in 15 minutes. We ordered the family feast which comes with choice of 10 tenders or 30 bites, 2 large side and a half dozen cornpones w/ raspberry butter for $25. We went with half tenders/half bites, and chose mashed potatoes and gravy, and Mac n cheese as our two sides. The chicken was delicious and had great flavor. The mashed potatoes and country gravy were really good, and the potatoes didn't taste like they were instant so that made me happy. Husband really enjoyed the Mac n cheese. The cornpones were alright and I really liked the raspberry butter. The three sauces we chose were the wing sauce, honey mustard, and fry sauce. Wing sauce had a little sweetness but good kick. Loved the honey mustard. I didn't try the fry sauce but everyone else liked it. Overall we were really impressed and happy. Definitely recommend and will be returning.

Google
Love this place! The chicken is really good. The seasoning is tasty and the chicken was really juicy. We only tried the mac and cheese, but they have quite a few sides to choose from. The staff were also super nice and the food was made fresh, but still very fast. I noticed their prices are a bit lower than they were listed online (savings is always nice!) By maybe a dollar or so, and their prices are very fair. Highly recommend and will definitely return!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite chicken shops in all of Utah, the chicken is always tender and juicy. The Mac and cheese is DELICIOUS!!!. They have a good option for sauces and they're all really good. Definitely recommend this place. They do get a little busy but that's a good sign!. Service can be a bit slow at times but that's doesn't bother me!.

Marsha K.

Yelp
The chicken tenders were horrible.. over cooked and dry.. I'll never be back.. definitely not worth 11.00. If the one thing you sell , it should be great.. not like this..

Yelp
We went at 5p on a Saturday. The wait was not long, but there was only one family waiting ahead of us. It's pretty plain in there, not much to look at, it doesn't really look like a dine in type of pace either, we did take out, in fact, they didn't ask us if it's for here or to go. We ordered a family meal w half and half bites & tenders. Side of fries and mac n cheese. It was DELICIOUS. the chicken is out of this world. The mac n cheese was perfect and the fries were AMAZING. none of that old hard sitting fries, these were fresh and light. We were able to choose 6 dips. All were great!! I want to go back and try the mash potato bowl. Our family is 2 adults a hungry teenage boy, and two toddlers. We still had left overs bc the littles don't eat much, but it filled us up pretty good. The bread is CORN BREAD, I wish the kid would've just called it that when I asked what it was. Anyway it comes w delicious raspberry butter. Loved this place

Yelp
The place looks very nice The people are very nice The food is amazing. I love their mashed potatoes with gravy their chicken is amazing and so is their mac in cheese

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to eat. The menu is simple but I have never yet had a bad experience. Some tenders are smaller than others, but they're always hot and juicy. I like the wing sauce mixed with honey mustard

Yelp
In a world with raising canes, kfc, popeyes, churches, zaxbys, etc. how do you know which chicken tenders and fries place to go to when the craving hits?!?! Have you been to the bird yet? Have you had their amazing wing sauce? Have you bit into one of their really delicious fries that look like an ordinary fry but taste something rich and special?! The value is great here. The mini bites are a great value for portion and price... Their sauces and drinks and pies are special. But a 10 on the chicken for flavor, breading, consistency. 10 on sauces cause they have good choices and variety 10 on fries. The salt, crunch, crisp and flavor. 10 on seasonal strawberry pies

Yelp
Was in Syracuse to pick up my nephew at the golf course nearby, and a quick check of Yelp for good food options delivered up The Bird. It was interesting that they seem to prioritize takeaway food, with only a few tables. The food is packaged up to go whether you want to stay or not. The food is A+, with delicious chicken tenders and amazing fries. I appreciated the variety of sauce options, since other places like Mr Charlie's only have a few sauces. Everything was cooked to order, fresh and hot. The only negative was the 2 older ladies working the front - neither one seemed happy to be there, and were just shy of hostile in their customer service attitudes. I understand the negative feelings of having to work a somewhat menial job at their ages (I'm old too!), but if you have to work I think it's best for your business to make the best of the situation. I would have given it 4.5 stars but in lieu of half stars being available, I couldn't give a full 5 stars due to the employee relations. Still, I will ABSOLUTELY go back if I'm in the area, and/or recommend it to others!

Justin W.

Yelp
My food came out very late. The person I came with was already done eating by the time I got my food. When the food came out the order incomplete and the food was cold. When I went up to correct the issue of not receiving my entire order the woman behind the counter was irritated with me.

Yelp
My little brother was craving some chicken and gravy and he is very picky about chicken he found this place and we tried it out; we got 3 family dinners since it was 8 of us and boy let me tell you, the chicken is very fresh and delicious, the Mac & cheese is delicious as well, and the mash potatoes and gravy wow!!! It's to die for. You literally are in love once you eat this chicken and everything that comes with it; you definitely must try this place if you are in the area. Even if you are not in the area you should stop by and grab some. It has that south taste abs by far the best chicken and gravy i have had in Utah. We have been here 6 times since our first and i had to do a review. Thanks The Bird we will definitely be back.

Yelp
If you're looking to sit down and eat, this place does not have a dine in option. There's a big open space where tables used to be, but now just walk in and pick up. The food was good, fries and mac n cheese are good. The order was not 100% accurate. It honestly looked like there were only 17 and under staff working, no management staff.

Yelp
I love that I can run in on my way home from work and grab dinner to go. We always do the family feast and we all walk away satisfied. We love the Corn pons with yogurt dip and the mac and cheese is delicious. Reasonably priced! We go here often

Jeff C.

Yelp
To start, it's not southern fried chicken, it's breaded chicken like at Maddox. The tenders and the nuggets were good white meat and cooked well. I had the fries and my wife had the coleslaw. the fries were hot but a bit undercooked on the inside. I did ask the kid at the register (glasses and a beard, he didn't have a name tag) if it was possible to get my fries extra crispy and he flat out said no. I guess he thought he was the manager. The coleslaw tasted okay but was very soupy. Also, if you want salt, bring your own because they don't have any, seriously, none! I tried the country gravy and this is where the salt was really needed!!! the bbq sauce and the honey mustard was about like any other. BTW, save yourself $3 and get the 6 piece nugget instead of the 3 piece tenders. you get about the same amount of chicken. Bottom line is that the chicken was good but the customer service failed. Hopefully you'll have a better experienc.

Yelp
Yep, still a great piece of fried chicken on a bun... Worth $8.50 as a combo? Isn't any unique food experienced worth at least that? I don't know what they do to the chicken breast before or during frying, but it is flavorful without being spicy. Almost like a brine dunk before coating? And the breading is how I prefer it. On the dryer side, firmly on the breast without overly coating it and having the bread coating crack off. The salad was a simple salad mix, nothing special, but the raspberry vinaigrette tastes like fresh raspberries, not sure how, but yum.

Yelp
With 3 kids at home and busy day-to-day, our family love The Bird for dinner. We usually get the family meal half chicken bites and tenders plus more bites. Cornpones with raspberry butter is excellent. Mashed potatoes with country gravy and Mac and cheese are all favorites. Can't forget the nice selection of sauces. Sweet and sour is the best. We did catch them once when they ran out of cornpones. They offered to substitute a side, so I think I chose corn. I think they gave us like a little 2 oz cup with some corn. Was totally not worth it. While waiting for our order, many customers came in to order and when they learned cornpones were out, they left without ordering. I was surprised at how big of a hit those are. But they are really good. I guess we had another instance where we placed our order and waited. There were customers that came in after us with what appeared to be similar sized orders, waited less time and received their orders sooner. That was one time out of many though. Not sure what was up that day. Overall, The Bird is really great food. Staff is usually pleasant. They are in close proximity to our home, so convenient and tasty. They will remain on our Family dinner list for some time. If you haven't tried them, what are you waiting for?

Yelp
We love The Bird and frequent often. Perfect for those nights when you don't feel like cooking and need quick service. Our little one is a picky eater and he clears his plate every time.

Yelp
There is absolutely no ambiance. The prices are outrageous. The menu had less than 20 items PERIOD! The staff is snotty and just plain rude. They treated me like a child and they are all less than half my age

Yelp
This place popped up next to the busy pizza place. I was trying to get my pizza which wasn't ready so I walked next door to see what the Bird was all about. They have chicken tenders and bites along with a few side dishes like mashed potatoes and gravy or maccaroni and cheese. They also have yummy cornpones with rasberry butter. I got a sampling of everything and took it home to try. The chicken was very tasty and all white meat. They had a bunch of different sauces to take for dipping and also some hot honey butter for the cornpones. I prefer the honey butter to the rasberry butter personally. There is also a family feast deal for $25 that you can get with 30 bites (or a smaller number of tenders), 2 large sides, and 6 cornpones. This is a bit big for my 2 person family, but if you have more people, it would be perfect. Sometimes they do a special spicy deal with the family feast if you want to kick it up a knotch. Lastly, the decor is very simple, but they have pictures of dogs on the wall and you cannot go wrong with that!

Yelp
Not bad. It was fresh and fast. It was deep fried. If you don't want a burger and your going through Chemo and nothing sounds great but you have to eat, this place is as good as any. At least it's better than KFC. Not hard I guess. Who needs the Colonel. His secret herbs and spices are over rated. So is his breaded buzzard. This was at least a juicy plump hen.

Yelp
We were a little on the fence after seeing some of the reviews but decided to give it a try anyways. So glad that we did! Everything was phenomenal. We got two of the bowls, chicken mini bites, fries, Mac and cheese, and cornpones with honey butter and raspberry spread. We were so full that we could even finish our bowls and our kids loved everything. The cornpones with honey better is out of this world. Perfect fries. The bowls were incredible. Definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
The bird is really good for some chicken tenders and good fries. It is a little bit greasy but will definitely fill you up. I wasn't able to finish my full meal. The strawberry lemonade is also amazing! Probably the best I have ever had. The Mac and cheese wasn't amazing but it was good for what it was.
google avatar

Jacob J.

Yelp
Walked in and first noticed how clean the restaurant was. Customer service was good at the register and the menu was straight forward. Ordered Tenders and fries. Both came out hot and fresh. My only critique is the batter for the chicken could have used a little more seasoning. Definitely would go back.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
The food is really delicious but service leaves something to be desired. The chicken is always super tender and I love the crust they do on it. The sides are good too, definitely get the raspberry butter to go along with the cornpones. The problem is with their online ordering process, it is a very easy order but the last three times I have picked up food from there the food is nowhere close to being ready at the time it told me when I completed my order. The last time took about 45 minutes beyond when it was supposed to be ready, which is crazy because this is just fried chicken tenders. My wife sat there waiting for our food while she watched others walk up to the counter, place their order, and walk out with their food before she did. She also got some excuses from the staff that were totally untrue. There was no manager on duty that could handle the issue and help correct things, just a bunch of young kids who weren't terribly interested in providing a good customer experience. I reached out to them through their social media and they ended up refunding my order so kudos to them for taking care of the customer after the fact, but it still doesn't help the situation that I have now experienced a terrible customer experience more than once. It definitely makes me rethink if I want to continue coming here.

Mason B.

Yelp
Very very soggy chicken, the breading on the outside had little no no crispiness. The service was great! The restaurant itself is a newer chic chick-fil-a competitor with a new age styled eating area.
google avatar

Cindy G.

Yelp
I love The Bird. I ordered on line and within 15 minutes my order was fresh and hot. The chicken strips and nuggets are amazing. Paired with Mac & Cheese and fries...it was the bomb!
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. The Bird manages to make a very simple dish like chicken fingers absolutely exciting and delicious. You have to hit the sauce bar. My fav is Honey Mustard even though I usually just dip the chicken in the mashed potatoes and gravy. The Cornpones are a uniquely delicious way to eat corn bread. The honey butter and raspberry butter are so yummy. This time I came for the homemade Strawberry Pie, see attached picture.
google avatar

Annette R.

Yelp
We just discovered this hidden jewel well.. hidden from us anyway. Love their chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. Their cornbread with yummy honey or strawberry butter is wonderful too. It's not really close to us so, we make a point of stopping by when we're in the area and order enough for a couple of meals.
google avatar

Justin W.

Yelp
One of the best chicken places around. My kids would rather go here than Chick-fil-A. The pies are also amazing. If they have the fresh strawberry pie get it.

Yelp
We ordered 2 Tenders on a Bun with Mac & Cheese, the Mashed Potato Bowl & 1/2 dozen Cornpones. The "tenders on a bun" were exactly what they sound like. It was two chicken tenders each on a tiny little bun the size of a dinner roll with 1 dill pickle on each. They were honestly kind of boring, even after I smothered them in ranch. In my opinion it needed more pickles or a good sauce to make it a little more enjoyable next time. The chicken itself was good. It was plenty moist. I was hoping for a spicy chicken sandwich but unfortunately they don't seem to have that on their menu which seems weird to me. The Mac and cheese was ok. I was expecting a more home style kind of mac and cheese but this was very processed and mushy. Very similar to KFC's. The Mashed Potato Bowl was pretty good. Good ratio of all the ingredients mixed in and everything tasted good together. The Cornpones were very tasty. They came with some kind of raspberry butter that was pretty tasty but they were especially good with the honey butter dip. It tasted just like cornbread smothered in butter and honey. They were a bit dry but the dip helped with that. We couldn't finish all 6 of them since they were so filling. 6 of them for $2 was a pretty good deal. Honestly, everything we got was just a nicer version of KFC food, which is not a bad thing at all. When we're craving some KFC I would much rather spend a little more money and go here for the better quality food.

Yelp
I work In Syracuse and saw this place ave decided to try it out. It's pretty good food overall. Ordered chicken fingers, Mac n cheese and coleslaw. Moderately priced. Went in during the covid-19 outbreak and was unsure if you went in or came out, ended up going in. I wish it was more clear in that regard. But would go back again.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! The chicken is always perfect and all the sides we have tried are delicious. Way better then any of the larger chain chicken places!
google avatar

Danielle H.

Yelp
Loved the bowl! Comfort food at its best! The potatoes and gravy had great texture and flavor.
google avatar

Kathee C.

Yelp
Stopped in for an afternoon snack with my daughter. We got a couple of orders of mini bites and a side of macaroni and cheese. These mini bites (essentially popcorn chicken) are such a bargain at $2.25! You get a ton of them. The macaroni and cheese is perfectly cheesy and creamy. We can't wait to go back for lunch!!
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
Wow! We ordered catering for 50 people for my son's 10th birthday party. That was a lot of food! Tenders, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, mac and cheese, cornbread, and sauces. The food was excellent, ordering was simple and the price was reasonable. Everything tasted fantastic and everyone loved it. Thanks for helping to make my son's birthday The Best Day Ever!
google avatar

Yelp
I rarely make it up to Davis County but when I do I try to find great local spots while I am at it. This one is more than great. I got the bites - which were beyond perfectly filing for the size, great taste and still so moist. Loved their wing sauce, even to the point I drizzled just a bit on the mac-n-cheese. Had to try the conepones because I can't ever resist anything cornbread-esq... They weren't out of this world but I will admit I ate the whole cute thing. Their staff is super nice and seem to enjoy working their. They adapted really well given COVID-19 regulations for staff in my opinion compared to other places I've been. Highly recommend and will most definitely be back!
google avatar

Steven K.

Yelp
I was very impressed with the bird and the affordability of it. I loved the chicken fingers and tEnders! All of the sauces make it fun to try everything. Management is in good hands because the people he's started CB Maddox run this and the quality is there. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. I wish this place was closer to me.

Yelp
My family and I stopped in here after a recent visit to Antelope island when most, if not all, restaurants were only offering takeout due to Covid-19. We ordered the family feast and given the number of walk ins and orders going out, we expected to wait a long time. Our wait was only about 5-10 minutes, which wasn't bad at all given the circumstances. At the time of our visit, the family feast was $27, rather than the $25 shown in other photos. The chicken tenders were good - nice crumb breading; tender and moist with good flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy were decent but lacked salt. Dipping the chicken into the gravy remedied that issue nicely. For our second side, we chose the mac and cheese, which looked very average, but tasted great. The cheese was very creamy, not watery or bitter, and had great flavor. The meal also comes with 6 corn dodgers that had just slightly crispy edges - were they possibly baked in cast iron?!?! They weren't super buttery, but they were good. Overall I would say it was a pretty good value. The family feast fed 3 hungry adults with a little to spare, so I would say it feeds 3-5 depending on how hungry you are & maybe more if you're feeding kiddos. None of us had our socks knocked off, but everything satisfied, and did it at a fair price. I will stop in again when this pandemic is over. Be safe everyone.

Yelp
After reading the positive reviews of The Bird on Yelp, I was honestly expecting more. Chicken tenders were average, very average. For a restaurant that specifically specializing in chicken tenders I would have expected fantastic chicken. Even great chicken would have sufficed. Instead The Bird served up lightly breaded chicken tender without much flavor. Sauce selection was good but charging 50 cents per sauce seemed unnecessary. Mac and cheese was okay. Cornbread and raspberry butter was okay. There was nothing outstanding about The Bird and I wouldn't recommend it. Chick-fil-A serves up much better, much tastier fried chicken tenders and sandwiches.
google avatar

Colton C.

Yelp
Chicken is delicious. Family meal was a great deal and easily fed our family of four. Would highly recommend!

Moana W.

Yelp
Wasn't a big fan. Small menu, very expensive for some chicken tenders. One of the cooks in the back stood there and ate French fries the whole time with her gloves on. It's small, trash was over filed, tables weren't wiped but they didn't seem busy. Chicken batter is OK! It's good just no WOW factor. The coleslaw was purple, they used the red cabbage and it made it taste like it too.
google avatar

Kaylyn C.

Yelp
The Bird is the word! My husband and I live in California, but visit my family nearby The Bird frequently and were finally able to give this place a try! I got the chicken tenders and really liked them with the ranch dip. Fries were yummy with the fry sauce! My husband got their new chicken sandwich (not in the menu yet) and LOVED IT- He is Chick-Fil-A's biggest fan and said that they're sandwich was just about as good! Definitely stop in to give it a try!
google avatar

Tammy C.

Yelp
My mom and I drove all the way up from SLC to eat at this restaurant that my friend had ranted and raved about. When entering the store, we were disappointed that there was nowhere to sit and eat. As we went to order, we were greeted with no enthusiasm and excitement that we were even there. My chicken sandwich was undercooked and raw. We will not be returning.

Yelp
Can I just say how epic & amazing this place is!!! Gave them a try thru DoorDash because we wanted to try something new, and we're getting bored with the usual. Our entire family was BLOWN AWAY!! SO MUCH BETTER than that other "chicken dinner" chain. Their potatoes and gravy is ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! We have a child that doesn't like potatoes & gravy, but once she tried here, now it's her favorite! The seasoning and batter on their chicken is delicious! The cornbread & whipped raspberry butter...EXPLOSION OF THE TASTE BUDS!!! The prices too, are almost unbelievable!!! We now order from them every other week atleast!! GREAT VALUE, GREAT FOOD, and GREAT SERVICE, & FRESH INGREDIENTS!!! I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH!!!!

Jennifer H.

Yelp
The Bird catered my husband's work party. It was great food! They included utensils for serving and delivered on time. Well done!
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich was okay but it's definitely not worth $7.00 for just the sandwich. I'd say this place probably would thrive a lot more if they weren't so expensive.

claire c.

Yelp
We are normally not big fans of tenders but the bird's tenders were surprisingsly juicy! It was a perfect comfort meal after visiting antelope state park. Both adults and kids were satisfied.

Shalon B.

Yelp
Food is great. Service is friendly and fast. This place is a great little mom and pop. There are tons of chicken places popping up right now, this place still sits in my top five.

The Bird, part of the Madoxx family established businesses Their Chicken is always great.

Yelp
I love chicken tenders so I was eager to try this when I saw it pop up on yelp as a new restaurant. The outside is in a strip mall between a couple other stores. Inside is simple with a small bar for seating and a 4 person table. They also have a wall for drinks, sauces, and utensils. I was greeted warmly by the cashier and asked if I'd been in before and I said no. She explained it is all a la carte. I asked her what the Tender on a bun was and it is one tender on a slider bun. I decided to get 3 tenders, a regular mashed potatoes and gravy, and a large soda. Total price was 8.75. I like that tax is included in the price. The place was a bit dirty. The floor had a lot of garbage and spilled items on it. It was not busy at the time I was there but they may have been before I arrived for a late lunch (1:15 PM). The table I sat at was also dirty and the garbage was overflowing but they soon changed it while I was there. My food arrived within 5 minutes and the tenders were a bit small. The tenders looked good and appeared to have a lot of seasonings on them. The breading on the tenders were more like a chick fil a tender rather than a tender you would buy at the gas station. They were not the crispy type of tender but very moist and had a good flavor. I think chick-fil-a are a bit better than these though. The mashed potatoes were really good. I think I could have just eaten the potatoes on their own. They looked and tasted homemade. The gravy tasted like country gravy and was ok but the star of the two were definitely the potatoes. They gave me two cups for dipping sauce for the tenders so I went with honey mustard and bbq. I liked both of them. I did take by container over and tried the fry sauce and the honey butter and they both were good too. Overall pretty good chicken tenders. I think the family meal deal is the best value. I did hear the lady at the counter tell another customer that their target customer is one that is on the go so that is why they only have a few places to sit. Think of Little Caesars but for chicken. Service is fast and all the staff I interacted with were very friendly. I'll come here again when I'm in the mood for tenders.
