The food was great, better than expected. Everything was great. I recommend it all, especially the sweet potato tots and pulled pork. Ordering was easy, and the menu was easy to understand. John himself brought our food. The service was great. Indoor and outdoor dining. Outdoor is above average with the lake and surrounding landscapes of the Allen Ridge area. Service Food and atmosphere was outstanding. We will be back!

Google
First time visiting and the biscuit was phenomenal. My husband had the biscuit and gravy, he was impressed with the biscuit and said the gravy was ok. I got the French toast biscuit with chicken, I forget what it was called. Pretty fair pricing as well, the staff were friendly. We had a good experience overall.

I went there with friends for the first time today. Immediately when I walked in it was hot inside. The AC needed to be turned up way more than it was. The service was friendly. They have metal chairs in front of the booths and they are hard to sit in. Metal chairs need cushions. Where you fill up your fountain drinks needs to be cleaned up more often it was kind of messy with drink spills everywhere and no napkins next to it for me to even clean real quick so I could put my coke down to put the lid on. But,... the food was AMAZING! I do not even like biscuits that much at all and these were great! Great flavor and the biscuit did not crumble as you ate it. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. My friend got the steak and egg and it was really good! The meat was tender and not chewy and was full of flavor! My friends daughter got the chicken nuggets and they were tasteless. It's like they didn't season the batter correctly or at all. Now, I understand this is not a chicken nugget place so don't get those if you go. I will definitely go back!

Google
We were looking for something unique on the way through Abilene and saw The Biscuit Bar. There was plenty on the menu without being overwhelming. We had a hot honey chicken biscuit, the Monty Cristo and shared some loaded tots. The biscuits were great. They hit all the right notes, hot honey could have had a little more spice but that didn't hurt it. The tots were great. I usually don't brag about drinks but the have a soda fountain with cane sugar sodas in interesting and deliciously tantalizing flavors. Best thing about biscuit bar hands down is the service. We were made to feel welcome by everyone. We will stop in next time we are in Abilene.

Google
Great place for the classic southern gravy and biscuits and any combination in between. I ordered The Rough Night, and it did not disappoint.

Google
The food is good, but ours were relatively small portions for the money. Our food on this particular visit came out over toasted and on the cool side warm. They have fountain drinks but they are not a popular name brand.

Google
I had the Biscuits and sausage gravy. Biscuits are perfect, soft with just a little bit of a buttery crunch on the edges! The gravy was not my traditional white but was so tasty. Would absolutely be coming back while in town to try other menu items.

Google
Everything is on a biscuit. Great sandwiches and marketing idea. You can see the biscuit maker as you order.

Yelp
Wow!! So glad we stopped!! Driving west from Austin, we needed a breakfast stop... so Abilene it was.. The Biscuit Bar it was... food was amazing. The Biscuits were just absolutely amazing. I had the egg bacon cheese and my wife the biscuits and gravy. Every flavor was there.. i mean they were great. We got an order of tots... beautiful crispy delights My wife had a sweet tooth so she ordered the sweet bites... yikes absolutely great. Cons.... Maybe invest a deep clean on the facility itself. It kinda put us off a little... but hey, the food made up. :) Great music playing, and nice and quiet....

Yelp
OVERALL The Biscuit Bar is a Texas-based chain that I've waited forever to try. It's a fun place to try classic concepts in a new way! Plus they offer adult beverages. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING Ample free parking is available all along the plaza. Some takeout spots are clearly labeled. LOCATION/AMBIANCE This restaurant along with several others is located in a really nice plaza called Allen Ridge. There is an area behind the plaza with a large pond. There are Adirondack chairs and others for lounging with friends. Perfect on a summer night, I bet. The restaurant itself features a large bar area. Several different sizes and heights of tables. Walk in through the front door. Head to the right to the large menu. There are handheld menus at the register if you don't want to stand staring at the large one. Order and pay at the register. They'll hand you a tall metal table number where you'll take to the table of your choice. Of course, they'll bring your food out to you. THE GRUB + Monte Cristo--an interesting take on this classic sandwich. They did not skimp in the meat. + Orange juice--chilled & served in a mason jar. Had to remind an employee to fetch it for me. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB I don't recall a kid's menu, but I didn't ask about it either without my kids in tow. :( SERVICE The food takes a while to come out, but the service was polite and mostly efficient. MY FAVORITE PART... All the flavors meshing together from the Monte Cristo. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... I didn't have space in my belly to try more!
google avatar

Gracie L.

Yelp
Service was monotone. Cashier looked at me like a robot and waited for me to tell her what I wanted instead of saying hello what can I get for you. Ordered the Montecristo and a biscuit with grape jelly. The ham biscuit was ok. Not impressed. The biscuit with the jelly package was fridge cold! The OJ, is a cheap one, tasted like sunny D. They could use a fresh OJ machine.

Yelp
This is a good concept restaurant and nice option on this side of town. The staff is always very friendly. The atmosphere is bright, fresh, and clean. The outdoor seating overlooking the small lake is nice to have too. The food itself is good but I wouldn't say it's phenomenal. Keep in mind what the concept is and don't expect it to have any and everything. There are a variety of biscuit options plus a few other things which is sufficient. Don't expect to get completely stuffed on a biscuit order, but it is enough for a snack or light meal. They do have coffee although it would be nice to have larger cups or real mugs for the coffee. The biggest drawback is that on Sunday mornings, especially when ACU is having a big event, the line can be out the door and no seats available. Abilene really needs more breakfast/brunch options on the north side of town. But happy to have this place any day of the week. Great hip college town type of place.

Yelp
On our way to Dallas this morning with all the Grandkids in tow. No time to make breakfast so Biscuit Bar to the rescue !! Can't remember all we ordered but between eight of us I think we got one of everything. We ordered online for pickup and the food was hot, ready and packed well for eating on the road. Thanks again for being there when we needed you.

Yelp
Food is delicious. A young lady came running in and took our orders and from the get go was completely rude. She brought my food without my drink and when I asked for it she was so rude and rolled her eyes. Completely disrespectful and I sat with my food for 30 minutes before getting my drink. She was greeted by multiple of my friends before ordering and proceeded to blatantly ignored them. I love the food here but service like this makes me never want to come back. She switched off with a man who brought our food and drinks and he was amazing!

Yelp
First I will say the biscuit was incredible. The service on the other hand was horrible. Walked in no one not one other person was inside. Placed my order at the counter... one biscuit. That all just one. Asked for butter jelly and I would pay extra for whipped cream. I waited for over 15 minutes for one biscuit. I watched as my biscuit sat on the counter for about 5 minutes while the staff chatted about I don't know what. I was served the biscuit with only whipped cream I had to ask for butter and jelly. I was disappointed when I was given a packet of Smuckers strawberry jelly and packaged tiny butter. Like I said the biscuit was really good... word of advice don't come here if you are in any sort of hurry.... Or need to be anywhere else for awhile

Yelp
Stopped on the way through. Good is good and tasty. Service was nice and helpful. We all had pulled pork and would recommend. Thank you.
google avatar

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Kinda disappointed... service was not great. Nobody was working the bar and the one that was really didn't know what went into what and wasn't stationed at the bar so we had to walk over to the counter go get someone to the bar. Definitely not the manager I think his name was Mike, that we are use too. Food was good. Just been a while and was disappointed. Did enjoy our visit with friends.
google avatar

Shannon K.

Yelp
Amazing service and totally delicious food! Anything breakfast is good. And right on a lake?! Heck yeah.
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
Food was good, but seems management is off. Cards only, ok not that big of a deal. However, one of the workers kids was sitting in the restaurant with loud iPad and helping himself to soda. Oh, no bar available because the server at the front was not able to serve. Good idea but ad management for a Friday night. Oh well. Wouldn't recommend! Whole was disappointing.

Jerry M.

Yelp
I will not be here again. Food is bland and mediocre. The worst is we ordered coffee and asked about 3 times, finished our meal and we were about to leave they made coffee. No apology for no coffee. No real concern, just in deference. You would be better off to go to McDonalds.
google avatar

Tish B.

Yelp
Popped in on our way through town so excited to return to the biscuit bar. At 2 o'clock with the restaurant half empty and only one couple ordering in front of us, we were told they weren't taking orders bc it's a 2 hour wait!! Amazingly that wasn't the case to the people before us!!! We thought the guy was joking until he said seriously we aren't taking orders!! Very rude and we were very disappointed!! Even if you had to go orders, you shouldn't turn customers away!! We will not return!! We went next door to Fuzzy Taco for much better service!!

Lauren C.

Yelp
Oh god please make sure this is your breakfast go-to! I love their breakfast biscuits - just the right amount of flavor explosion when you have em! Highly recommend! We ordered the bacon and the sausage biscuits - absolutely delicious.

Chamblee M.

Yelp
I had the worst customer service while trying to order. I'm not huge on leaving bad reviews but I went up to the register to order with such a great attitude and excited to order. I smiled at the lady and say "Good Morning! How are you?" and was blatantly ignored. I said "Hi, hello?" And she looked straight at me and didn't say a single word. I ended up walking away and coming back to order and she refused to talk to me. I've never been more aggravated but was still nice regardless. All of the people who went after me experienced the same thing. Very disappointed as today was our last day of the semester and we just wanted to celebrate. This was at 10:15 AM on Thursday April the 17th.

Yelp
No what I was expecting when I think of a biscuit but it was good. I had the Monti Cristo and it was very good. My husband had the Hoss and he said it was good but small. The place was dirty . The tables , the floors and bathrooms. It was 3:45 pm so maybe they had a big rush but I would think they could have cleaned up after their rush. The setting in the shopping center is a good vibe !
google avatar

Taylor P.

Yelp
If I'm going to pay $6.50 for ONE biscuit in this economy... I was hoping that it would actually resemble what is advertised. I ordered the Biscuit French Toast and it's supposed to come with whipped cream, syrup and powdered sugar on the biscuit itself. My husband brought home a biscuit, wrapped in tin foil and 2 cups of syrup. Nothing else besides a fork was in the bag. Pretty disappointing honestly. The food tasted great- if not a little soggy from being wrapped up. But for an "upscale" or "craft" biscuit joint, I could've done this myself, at home, and saved the gas and $7.

Ashley G.

Yelp
Very impressed overall. The restaurant was very clean. The staff were very kind and helpful. The food was excellent. Probably a new Abilene favorite.

Yelp
went here again and it was great!, the tater tots were amazing this time and the service was amazing 10/10 would recommend thank you for being amazing!

Yelp
We love this place. I had the basic chicken biscuit and my wife had the chicken salad. Both were excellent. We got our food quickly and Jordan was great. Sweet and friendly. We love the view looking over the little lake on their outdoor patio area. We've eaten there several times and it's always super fast and delicious. We will definitely go back again.
google avatar

Gertrude B.

Yelp
Brought my family here for the first time and had an initial good impression, until today. I was not informed that they were short staffed? Or their kitchen was backed up? Really frustrated at the fact that my whole family and I were waiting for our food for about an hour. We even came at a slow hour (2pm). After 40 mins of waiting, we asked for our food and they continued to tell us to wait for 15 more mins and they didn't even get our food right. Just really disappointed.
google avatar

Zach F.

Yelp
Great chain from DFW that seems to be relatively new in Abilene. Near ACU with several other new restaurants/bars/coffee shops in a nice new development with a big parking lot, a man-made pond behind everything and a kids play area. The Biscuit Bar was great for us as a family with three small kids. It's nice but without any concern for the kids breaking anything or disturbing someone else's meal, the choices are easy and all delicious breakfast foods and you order and then sit down and wait for your food. Definitely recommend for good food and a good family breakfast.
google avatar

Diron K.

Yelp
The food was okay. There is not much food for the price. The food comes in these small cardboard boats. You order your food at the counter, pick your food up when ready and clean your own table, and they ask for a tip? This is crazy, tips are for servers. Been there, done it, no need to go back. The Ambience was good, but the music was fairly loud.

K P.

Yelp
I wanted to really like this place. First, every single table and the floor was dirty when we walked in. The place was empty. No excuse for that. I had to ask the guy to clean a table for us. He did, with a dirty rag. Ugh. My husband ordered the burger biscuit and smothered tots, enjoyed his very much. I tasted the tots. They tasted like dirty cooking oil. I ordered the hot hot chicken. The biscuit was overcooked and bland. The chicken was juicy but the breading tasted like dirty cooking oil and both the chicken and breading lacked seasoning. There was very little nashville hot sauce or ranch so the sandwich was pretty underwhelming. I wish staff would recognize the importance of keeping the place reasonably clean and using a clean towel on tables. I wish the kitchen cleaned the oil and found the salt shaker.
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
Service was great and so be sure to ask for their "secret menu" before decided what amazingness you want to enjoy! The biscuits were soft and delicious! We enjoyed breakfast and will return again if ever in the area! Being in our RV the parking was great and right off the freeway. The ambiance with a small lake was a great stopping point to relax and enjoy.

Yelp
I really like the location in Fort Worth so I was glad to see they have one here in Abilene. Great venue and outdoor patio area (when it's not too hot). They have Revolver Blood and Honey beer on tap and that's always a good start. I am a big burger guy, and this was my first venture into a biscuit burger- the B-Bar Burger. It was excellent and the beef, cheese, pickles, and Dijon complemented each other very nicely. It looked small but packed a big punch, but I still wish it were a bit bigger. The loaded style tots were not "loaded" with bacon though and were served a little lukewarm-ish. Friendly servers, clean, chill environment. I'll be back...
google avatar

Kristin B.

Yelp
We love stopping here on our trips from Lubbock to Dallas. Great food and great atmosphere!
google avatar

Paul V.

Yelp
Good food. Service is slow natured. Only the food runner is really making an effort. Very long line to order and only one register open. Manager seems to be above running the register, but the kitchen probably can't keep up with two registers. My wife's order was incorrect, but the manager was not very helpful.
google avatar

Alyssa L.

Yelp
Lots of creative options here it can be overwhelming. I decided to get the "Chicken and not a waffle". Nothing special but it was good. The chicken had just enough flavor but the French toast biscuit was somewhat boring in taste. They also had cereal inspired alcoholic beverages. I tried the fruity pebble one which was very strong but very delicious!
google avatar

Erin T.

Yelp
Food is okay. Way more expensive than I was expecting for Abilene. I think this is a good choice for people who've never had a proper Nashville/southern chicken biscuit sandwich. There's a wonderful shaded patio in the back. Cashier wasn't helpful at all with questions so be sure to study the menu yourself.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Super duper quick service and awesome sarcastic shirts. When the employees wear shirts that say "Batch Please" "baby got Batch" and "taters gonna tate" then you are my people!!! Biscuits are legit but for those of us who have had a life time of biscuits and need to not look like a biscuit... the salads are on point too! (And then just sneak tastes of everyone else's biscuits)!
google avatar

Ginger V.

Yelp
Yummmmm! I ordered the FABB and added fried chicken. Tried the Southern tots and the Chocolate biscuit. Oh my goodness, it was ALL delicious!
google avatar

Jimmy K.

Yelp
Love the food, and their great customer service is always appreciated!! They've never got my order wrong, it's always served fast, fresh, and hot!!
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Oh my goodness what a fun spot. Cute area on the water with walking trail and spots to sit and fun kid chairs. Nice restaurant, clean. Prices were extremely reasonable. Spent $35 for our family of 5. Love that there is a grilled chicken option. Also in love with the white sauce that comes with tots (sweet potato all day, don't bother with the regular), I think it's homemade ranch or sour cream and onion dip. Everything was amazing. Unhealthy treat for once in a while, but will eventually return! (This is *obviously* popular with the college students so just be prepared for crop tops. But we did see lots of families as well.)

Amber B.

Yelp
We love the biscuit bar. Absolutely terrible experience and service today! We waited over an hour for our food, and the waitstaff was not friendly or helpful at all. Lots of food sitting in the kitchen window, and no one plating or getting food out in a timely manner.
google avatar

Garry H.

Yelp
I'm a breakfast person, so Biscuit Bar was going to knock it out of the park for me! Got there for lunch, and talked to the girls making biscuits while we stood in line. I told her to make mine extra good! Glenda got the chicken Caesar salad, which she really enjoyed. The biscuit croutons were hard as a rock, but I'm sure they are normally pretty good. I got The Hoss, cause biscuits must have gravy! As soon as I tried to pick it up, it started falling apart. The biscuit and chicken were a little dry and on the bland side. But the gravy was phenomenal! The gravy is well worth getting again. Next time, I'll try a plain old sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. They do have craft sodas, but I forget the name. They were good, but the Dublin sodas at Grump's is better. Wasn't a great visit, but we will definitely try them again soon. Biscuits and gravy forever! See ya.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
nothing healthy about it. sometimes ya just gotta eat it anyway. it's vacation right? i didn't expect the steak in my salad to be like roast beef from a roast beef sandwich but otherwise it was good. those loaded tater tots were awesome as well as the biscuit nuggets. we need one of these places in Amarillo.

Aubrey B.

Yelp
I am OBSESSED with this place!! My wife likes all the fun cocktails but I'm hooked on the hot honey chicken! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly which makes the experience all the better. Good vibes for sure.
google avatar

Bryan R.

Yelp
I tried the honey hot chicken, it was pretty dry and not all that flavorful. Probably not something I would try again. I think other options might be better.

stephanie s.

Yelp
I thought this was my favorite breakfast place.. Then I had it for dinner! I'm a big fan of the Monte Crisco but I've loved everything I've had. Jordan always takes really good care of us! Excellent food and customer service!! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Zoe M.

Yelp
Thrilled to have a Biscuit Bar in Abilene! I've always loved eating at the Fort Worth Stockyards location. Delicious. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so I might be a bit biased. Food came out hot and fast. Friendly service. We had a slight mix up where they forgot to add the bacon to my biscuit, but that was quickly and graciously resolved! The bacon egg and cheese biscuit is by far my favorite despite how simple it is compared to some of their other great combinations. One biscuit is enough to fill me when it comes to portion sizes. Definitely a great new addition to Abilene.
google avatar

Alan J.

Yelp
When in Abilene, TX, "the biscuit bar" is the place to be for breakfast. It's built along a waterfront so the outdoor seating offers a great view of your kids playing in the play area or taking in the water front view. Food is devilishly good and the drinks are worth multiple rounds. Bring the family or just a ladies brunch out. You won't be disappointed. Look for the seasonal biscuits or drinks.

Glenn H.

Yelp
This is not your average breakfast sandwich. These are Amazing! Whenever,I am in a city with a Biscuit Bar, I go.

Brodie W.

Yelp
Service was horrible. The cashier literally told people to go away. Then they ran out of BISCUITS and told everyone it would be 2.5 hours. Good help is hard to find in Abilene I guess.

Mark F.

Yelp
NOT dog friendly. (At least now). I have been to the biscuit bar a few times and taken my dog with me. They have always let me know when I order that I need to sit on the patio with my dog and that is fine. Today on the other hand I waited in line with my dog for about 5 minutes and when I got up to order the man refused to take my order because I had my dog. He told me I had to take him outside and come back to order. I wish that the policy was more clearly posted. When I went back outside to look at the door I didn't see anything at first, but then saw this small sign near the ground with big letters DOG FRIENDLY and then small letters saying patio only. I now understand the policy and I am posting this review so others won't have the same experience. I gave it five stars before because I liked the food. But lowering my rating now because of the way I was treated this time.
google avatar

Eva R.

Yelp
Oh my goodness. I'm not a breakfast person, especially not biscuits but my husband wanted my daughter and me to go for him. Lol. So on his behalf, we went. So glad we did! I got the ribeye egg with cheese biscuit and my daughter got the traditional sausage gravy biscuit. She got coffee and I got the pineapple mimosa. Just the biscuits alone was more than enough. So tasty and such a great atmosphere. Definitely a must stop! Will be going back when I'm in Abilene again.
google avatar

Bradley B.

Yelp
Food was tasty. Service was great. Prices? Nope. I can get breakfast biscuits at McDs for 1/3 the price. The business model seems smart with breakfasty foods served with alcohol, but prices are out of range.
