Biscuit Bar is easily spotted in this Deep Ellum neighborhood as it sticks out with its' sleek, black building connected to an apartment/hotel(?). We parked along the street by the paid parking lot. The ambiance inside is cute with its yellow accents and neon signs. It is casual; order at the counter, receive a number and your order is brought to you.
Menu items are affordable at $5-13 for a biscuit, depending how basic or loaded you want your biscuit. Prices also reflect portion, so don't expect diner portions! At the end of the meal, I was still hungry.
I had the Hot Hot Chicken (southern fried Nashville style hot chicken, dill pickles, and house made ranch), bf had the special, the Whole Hog (basically all the meats- bacon, sausage, pulled pork), and we split an order of tots, southern style. I also had one of the cereal sips (all made with vodka), the Fruity Pebbles cocktail ($8).
Biscuit was decent, chicken was decent, and tots were decent but nothing special or extraordinary. The Fruity Pebbles cocktail was delicious- it was basically sugary cereal milk that somehow had vanilla vodka!
Overall a decent spot for a casual breakfast/brunch/lunch date with friends, but if you're traveling from out of town like we were, not worth the stop. Can't hold a candle to DBC in Denver!
