We really enjoyed our breakfast romp to the biscuit lady, but man, you better be on time and get there early. They have quite the following, and they will only be there till they sell out (kudos to them!)
They really push the boundaries on traditional breakfast options...I got the uptown girl, which is a bacon, egg, & cheese between peanut butter and jam. Kinda crazy, but it worked.
I also tried their "donuts" which are only made on the weekends, and went with the traditional glazed, however - there were plenty of options to choose from. Definitely a heavier style of donut - dense & chewy, but it was good.
You gotta come with an empty stomach - because their food will sink quickly, but shouldn't deter you from trying a couple of things.
Giving it 3 stars, and it's purest sense of it being good. I would definitely recommend trying it out, but I left feeling not quite sure why it has a chokehold on so many people. Loved the creativity, and the people working their were great, but in a city that's stacked with breakfast options, I think they just competitively fall in the middle of the pack.
The ambience there is pretty interesting. A wall stacked with antique tv's and concert posters, its a quirky spot. You can sit at picnic tables, or a couple of two tops, but you are dining in what feels like a convenient store (or trading post - which is what the name of building is called "Lucy's Trading Post." It was cool to see the different groceries and snacks you could buy inside.
Parking can be a real pain on that hill in the Wis, so just travel open minded if you are commuting by car. We had to park a couple of blocks away. If I lived in that neck of the woods, I would easily pop in here twice a month to try things out and stock up on baked goods to share with friends & family.
