The 17 Best Restaurants Near Lake Chelan - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Date night vibes are hard to come by near the lake. But with its crystal chandeliers, stone fireplace, and a front patio loaded with umbrellas, the Bistro is one of the only places in town you'll actually want to change out of your bathing suit for. The menu features French classics like steak frites and croque madames, as well as a hefty burger topped with caramelized onions and melted gruyere. If you wake up on Sunday with a wine-tasting-induced hangover, you can recover at brunch with a classic monte cristo, chicken and waffles, or crab eggs benedict." - carlo mantuano, emily burks

Great food, great atmosphere, amazing service! We enjoyed all dishes, with the most remarkable being the watermelon salad. The kids had some kids items that are unlisted on the printed menu and they loved it. Everyone on the staff were super nice and welcoming. This is such a gem in Chelan and we'll definitely be back. Parking was a breeze right out front on the street and generally it seemed no one had issues finding parking.

If you are in Chelan and searching for a quaint and cozy spot to grab a bite to eat paired with a hand crafted delicious cocktail, look no further than The Bistro! We came for Sunday brunch and I ordered the chicken & waffles, still dreaming about them, and the yummiest spritz. The food was outstanding! The servers are friendly and very accommodating. The restaurant is small so I would suggest making reservations. I will definitely be back to dine for dinner and have reservations again tomorrow for brunch!! Such a gem of a restaurant in Lake Chelan!

Not family friendly! We included our child in the guest count when we made our reservation. When we showed up to the restaurant we were told they didn’t have space for our stroller, no big deal, we were happy to fold it up and store. However then they said they didn’t have high chairs or boosters. The servers said multiple times that it would be better if we brought in our car seat… I don’t think she understands the logistics of a toddler car seat. When we said we would eat somewhere else the server decided they could make the stroller work. We were not given a kid’s menu and I assume they don’t have one. The food was delicious! Every thing we had was amazing, but the crab cakes were to die for! At the end of the meal the server thanked us for keeping our child quiet. While she meant it in a kind way, it just really goes to show that they do not want children in the restaurant.

Best cocktails we’ve had in a long time! Al our meals were delicious and so were the desserts! Great service too. We will be back!

Google
Well their condition inside clean they have chandeliers a nice ambience very clean bathrooms and very fresh tasty food simply Delicious. I hate fish in my wife had me try the tuna that they made I couldn't tell it was fish I thought it was steak it was so fresh. I had a salad my son have waffles and chicken and I tried it all it was simply delicious. If we're ever in this part of the state again will definitely stop by to eat again.

We had a great dining experience at the Bistro. Food, beverages and service were excellent. We sat outside and all the setting was perfect. They were great to accommodate for children's options. Definitely plan to come back.

Google
Second time here and again it was very good. My wife's Copper River Salmon was amazing. The New York steak and crab cakes were both excellent. The Burrata, and asparagus appetizers very nice. Only critiques would be trimming the asparagus so you don't eat the fibrous ends and a little more than just a brush of hollandaise on the crab cakes as I couldn't really even taste it. This is a great place for a special occasion or a nice evening out and would highly recommend.

Google
This place is absolutely not child-friendly. We were not allowed to sit outside, and when we tried to go inside, they refused to let us in with a stroller. Honestly, if you’re a family with kids, don’t waste your time here. Terrible experience — definitely do not recommend.

Yelp
We sat outside enjoying drinks and appetizers (happy hour menu) where we got the parmesan fries and the fried pickles. Both were really good and our service was really fantastic. I really enjoyed sitting outside under the bridge in the nice weather. I'd come here again for a lunch or dinner menu.

Yelp
Amazing food!!!! Oh my gosh, my fiancé and I loved it and ate everything off our plate. It was a little awkward coming in those but I think because we came right when they opened and were the only people dining for a bit. But good service too!

Yelp
This place was...interesting. We chose to sit outside and were immediately greeted with a bee that was swarming my husband. When our waitress came over we mentioned the bee. Her immediate response was "where?" which seemed odd? Anyways, the bee's house was right in the wall (you can see two holes that he goes in/out of) so we asked to be moved inside. We got the burrata (good, needs more tomatoes!), the steak frites (not groundbreaking but good) and the chicken pasta (VERY unique, not bad, never had anything like this). Service was overall slow. Inside is quite cramped. Lastly, this is a pet peeve of mine but on both the burrata and steak frites dishes were greens/sprigs of something just kind of thrown on the side - I'm assuming for decor bc why else would they be there? But just seemed out of place.

Yelp
Sad to have to say the Bistro is no longer the great restaurant it used to be. The food has become very overpriced and the menu hasn't been updated in years. Our food has been overcooked not very flavorful. Earlier this year we tried to dine it was still 20 minutes from their closing time but they turned us away. The chef/owner seems to have let the restaurant slip which is unfortunate.

Yelp
Cutest restaurant! Love the decor and the ambiance. Drinks and dinner - also good. Orange effervescence for him, bistro sparkler for me. The ginger beer gave his a lovely flavor. My drink had a bit too much grapefruit flavor for my liking. The shrimp starter was delicious! We liked the salad verte. He had the crab cakes and really liked them. The bottle of ketchup was a bit excessive for the amount of fries, tho. I had the copper river sockeye with potatoes. The salmon was delicious in flavor, yet a bit overcooked, so it was very dry. The creme brulee was a great finish to dinner. The service was great.

Yelp
We had one of the best dinners and nicest dining experience recently at the Bistro. Clearly, the chef has put a lot of thought into the menu and ingredients, and you can tell. We started with cocktails. Hubby had a satisfying peach Moscow Mule and I had the Bistro Margarita that was one of the best margaritas I have ever had (and I've had my share). The Grand Marnier prawns were excellent and the Burrata with fresh peaches was amazing. We saw a table of four ladies order the carafe of sparkling cocktails and they clearly enjoyed the order--their glasses came with fresh flowers on each. Lovely. A glance around the restaurant showed other diners were clearly happy. Hubby had the steak frites and I had the poulet frites. Both were great. For dessert, the lemon tart was full of body and luscious and the strawberry gelato was clearly fresh. Service was spot on. Chelan is a seasonal resort town, so many of the servers are 20 or under. I don't know the age of our server Sophie, but her service was top notch and clearly surpassed her age. The place is lovely; decor is tasteful and thoughtful, the restaurant was spotless and it's a lovely dining experience for a great night out. This will become our habit in Chelan.

Yelp
The food was absolutly Fantastic, had the milk brine pork chop with the cherry glaze, we also had the Crab Cakes (Freshest and most flavorful we have every eaten) and my wife had Catalan Cavatappi ! The service was impecable! Food is the Best in Chelan. (Sorry Sorrento's your food quality and value has droped just too much, even with the view!)

Yelp
Showed up over an hour before they close and wouldn't seat us.... Not even busy.... On a Friday night.

Yelp
Second time we've been here. The restaurant has a nice cozy atmosphere but they were blasting club music, with a speaker directly over our table, it ruined the vibe. Service was pretty slow. Food was okay, but pricy for what you got.

Yelp
Made a last minute reservation for an upper patio seating at 7:45 pm on a Saturday night. At the time we made the reservation, all the later times were open and all the seating options were available. When we arrived, we had to wait 20 mins, but it was only due to an issue that another guest had and they were in front of us in line. Food tasted great. Ordered the special of the day, salmon and it wasnt dry. Husband ordered the Bistro BLT. Bacon and pattu was juicy, but they werent really generous with the condiments. The waiting area was small, so people who sat at the lower patio area had to deal with the line of people and the amount of people standing around waiting for their table. Felt overcrowded. Overall, I would definitely come back. Felt like our "fancy" night for the weekend as people were dressed fancy casual and I always love the "fancy feel" of a candlelit dinner.

Yelp
The place so nice I had to review it twice! I swear, it just keeps getting better and better with every visit. Hands down, our favorite dinner spot in Chelan. Don't miss this one, they are on their game!!

Jessica R.

Yelp
This place is a gem! Great atmosphere for a ladies brunch. Service was slow for how few folks were at the restaurant, and could use some improvement on customer service but the food was DELICIOUS and beautifully plated that I would go back again.

Yelp
The best restaurant in chelan BY FAR! the food is phenomenal, the service is great and attentive, and the prices are very fair for the quality of food. The inside and outside are both super cute and aesthetically pleasing. The brunch and the dinner menu are both superb, everything I've tried there is so delicious. A must stop for dinner and brunch on any trip to chelan. The lavender butter with baguette, buratta, the fries with their house made garlic aioli and the chicken pasta were my favorites. Everything was delish. I wish I could get their food in Seattle!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Probably the best meal I had in Chelan! We went on a Friday night and made our reservation earlier that afternoon. The vibe was cool! Lovely chandeliers and lots of candles on the tables. Slightly disrupted by a foyer area full of kids, but we had a delightful time once they settled down. We started with a cocktail pitcher and it was great! They have such great drink options and we all loved our drinks. My tuna steak was really good, but I'm not confident that the potato cakes were gluten free as promised. My boyfriend got the poulet frites which was basically just chicken on top of French fries, which was much more simple than the name would imply and felt very overpriced/very American. Overall it was a good time!

Yelp
Best dinner I've had in a very long time! Celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in Chelan and husband finds this place for our dinner celebration. Who knew Chelan would have such a lovely upscale restaurant with reasonable prices? I knew as soon as we walked in this is definitely a place to remember. We started out with drinks. I had a lovely lavender bees knees hot cocktail. It was lavender simple syrup with gin & lemon. It was wonderful. Husband had an ale. Husband ordered the French onion soup. I had a hot baguette with butter. Finally our entrees arrived. I had the crab cakes with a salad and roasted asparagus. Husband had a large salad with roasted veggies. Here's the thing. These salads were no ordinary salads. Okay, greens, plus dried cherries, fresh goat cheese, dried apricots, candied walnuts and pears, all with a light vinaigrette dressing. I also had two crab cakes. You can actually taste crab in every bite! They were great! The place is as romantic as in comes. Husband did good! May we be blessed with another 30 years!

Yelp
On a visit to friends in Chelan we opted to eat out - a post pandemic treat. We got a reservation at the Bistro and we're pleasantly surprised. We sat on the patio, which has may umbrellas i case the sun is too hot. Service was prompt and helpful. We were excited by the menu which ranges from a burger to crab cakes, seared tuna or a ribeye steak. As a self described bistro the menu trends French - chicken is "poulet" and you can get steak frites. Food was good quality and well prepared. Some say it's the best place in Chelan. We'll keep trying and report back.

Yelp
We made a last minute dinner reservation here on a Saturday and although food tasted okay, this review is to point out the dishonest business practice by Bistro at Lake Chelan. The layout of the restaurant felt like stepping into a converted house, and the kitchen in the back was crammed with servers squeezing in and out of the tight hallway. Ambience was fine, but service was lackluster and inattentive. Our server took our order and it took about 40 mins for the food to arrive. The food tasted just okay for what it was but definitely way overpriced. Our final bill total was $208. A few days later on the bank feed, the charge now says $211. We have the physical signed receipt and there is no way $208 can be misinterpreted. That's incredibly icky of the restaurant to add any amount to their discretion and get away with it.

Yelp
This is a super cute restaurant which appears to be in an old house. We were able to get a same day reservation which was nice duing winter when not a ton was open. The foods and drinks were yummy and the service was good too. Solid option in chelan.

Yelp
I can't speak highly enough of this restaurant. We made reservations through resy, and they automatically made a note of "vegetarian," although some of my party was not. We were promptly seated with kindness and courtesy in a beautiful area with fresh tulips, and shortly afterwards, the chef came out to speak with us. He wanted to let us know that he could modify dishes or make something else if we needed! Where I often feel like an inconvenience, the chef made me feel like family. The server was gracious and helpful, the gentleman busing tables was quiet, quick, and dirty dishes never sat for long. The cocktails were delightful and fun, mine was garnished with a miniature paper airplane! The food was phenomenal, and even my kids ate asparagus with gusto. The portion sizes were perfect so we left 100% satisfied. Thank you!!!

Yelp
After such great reviews I was hoping to love the food. It was ok, not great. We ordered the tuna and the poulet with fries. The tuna wasn't too tender. The chicken was roast chicken so juicy enough but not special. Ate only 1/2. As for the cream brulee it was delicious! The atmosphere is great, drinks, appetizers and a shared meal would have been a better option.

Yelp
Wow! For 20 years we've been coming to Chelan for at least one week a year and this is the best restaurant in the Chelan valley! The greens salad was excellent with fruit, nuts, and cheese. The French onion soup was solid and simple. The chicken entree was on-the-nose as was my brother-in-law's New York steak. Our party of four tried all four desserts and while the chocolate mousse cake was decadent, the best was the strawberry gelato. Great service from Sydney and nice that the chef/owner came over to visit briefly.

Yelp
Nice relaxing outside table. Friendly service. Refreshing burrito appetizer , in addition to the burger.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Definitely 5 stars! The burrata and fig appetizer satisfies and staved off our hunger until 18 minutes later our entrees arrived. Steak frites and poulet frites were both incredibly delicious. We topped it off with chocolate toffee cheesecake. $96 for dinner for two. We will be back. Todd, the owner and chef, came out to greet and check on us. Wonderful dinner. We will be back. Enjoy!

Yelp
Definitely my fav restaurant in chelan everything was great . The ambience was amazing the restaurant is like in a little house and they had an outdoor seating then a semi indoor and then indoor and it was so cute ! The drinks were amazing and everything was fairly priced ! Server was super sweet as well . 10/10 anniversary dinner forsure !

Yelp
GREAT BRUNCH BURGER, Hot and crispy fries. Crab Benedict was good. Service was great. Excellent music playlist. Nice setting/atmosphere. 30 mins to get a cup of coffee at a brunch with a reservation, wow, not good. Guess you need to bring your own coffee just in case they run out of French Presses, Ask before you are seating if you need to bring your own . We will come back....next time with coffee lol

Yelp
Food was delicious, but over priced for the atmosphere and portions. Let's just say the food is the reason for the stars. Gets a 2 stars because the service wasn't great. I made a reservation for 6 on Sunday at 10:45am. We showed up about 15-20 minutes early and were greeted by a young man who told us we could not be seated until our reservation time. Totally understandable if the restaurant was busy, but that wasn't the case. Every single table was empty and nobody else was waiting to be seated. So, from the start we weren't off to a great impression. We were finally sat at precisely 10:45; however, instead of sitting us at a table in the shade on this 90+ degree morning, we were sat directly in the sun at a table with no umbrella. When we asked if we could change seats because we were all burning and the lack of ice with our lukewarm water wasn't cooling us down, we were told no because all of the other tables were reserved. But again, the restaurant was empty. By the time we ordered, ate, paid, and left it was about an hour later and still EVERYONE SINGLE TABLE WAS EMPTY. We could have easily been moved to a different table to accommodate the people that were currently dining and paying for food. Did I mention that the silverware was too hot to hold from baking in the sun? Overall not please with the service but then again every worker seemed like this was their first day on the job as a sever. Will most likely not be returning, but in the off chance that I do, I will be requesting to sit inside there very small dining area. Not impressed.

Yelp
Just what we needed after a day of walking throughout the town. We had a later reservation, but didn't feel rushed with our meal. It was a comfortable quaint restaurant that had the feeling as if we were sitting in someone's home. Definitely will return to this gem when we visit again.

Yelp
Love the quant old house! Such a wonderful atmosphere. Service was 10+ Order the prawn appetizer. You won't be disappointed. i will have this again and again!! Enjoyed the Bistro Margarita. Who doesn't enjoy warm baguette with herb butter!! i would like to see more entree salad options and entree options. Put those amazing prawns on a Caesar and call it good!!

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Had a great evening! Will be back and to order the shrimp on the appetizer times 8!!! Ridiculously good!

Yelp
We had a great dining experience at the Bistro. Food, beverages and service were excellent. We sat outside and all the setting was perfect. They were great to accommodate for children's options. Definitely plan to come back.

Yelp
This is a must try!!! Food was amazing and the craft cocktails were unbelievable. Our waiter Sydney was the best. Can't wait to go back. Great place for a date or a nice evening out..

Yelp
Fabulous date night spot. Food was great. We will be back! The dishes we ordered were all top notch. The cocktails were unexpectedly fabulous, and the quaint interior is unique.

Yelp
Great food and excellent service during our visit. Reservations are recommended as the place is smaller but we have had luck without.

Steve B.

Yelp
This is one of the two best restaurants in Chelan. The food is good quality, but not cheap. They also serve some interesting cocktails. The decor is quite eclectic and the restaurant is warm and comfortable. The staff is attentive but not overbearing.

Yelp
A wonderful gem of a place in town. I try not to be annoyed by other reviewers but the one that mentions that the view is of a parking lot is just not true. It's not a view property, it's in a town, there is parking, there is a road. Again, it's in town. And yes it's in an old smaller house, and that creates smaller indoor square footage/. It's been fabulously reimagined, especially the front patio area. It's super cute and incredibly well done and I'm not sure what the other reviewer wants from them. The drinks - we had margaritas, a Paloma and a mezcal watermelon drink, all were delicious; the mezcal was light and well balanced and my favorite. The food - the tuna was a surprising hit, crab cakes were solid. My daughter had French onion soup to die for and a house salad - now I'm sorry but I need to address the reviewer that complained about the house salad and in general the same ingredients being used in the menu - it's a bistro it's not the Cheesecake Factory - the house salad was 5 star, I would order it as an entree next time. It wasn't huge but perfectly dressed and light with a large wheel of goat cheese, tangy and crunchy. Very satisfying! The buratta was another favorite for us and of course the baguette. Steak frites perfectly cooked. The service - perfect in that way of always there when you need something and very friendly. Dishes cleared promptly, food and drinks out in a reasonable amount of time. You might be wondering if I know the owner, I don't, we have only visited once and we will be back for sure, but as a society we should move in a direction of appreciation for small business owners, the folks that take chances and roll their life savings into their dreams to serve us a bistro dinner under a lanterned tree on a magical patio on a late summer night creating memories with my family. Leaving ridiculous, childlike tantrum reviews because their vision doesn't add up to perfection to you is so lowbrow and entitled. I for one am exhausted by it. Please consider joining me in cheering on the folks that create the luxe texture of our experiences and let's change the conversation.

Yelp
Came back a second time and what a great experience. Excellent service on a busy holiday weekend. I had the Poulet frites - I've never had better bistro chicken - so moist and flavorful. The fries were cooked to perfection. Missus had a salad verte that was chock full of goodies. Son had the burger and the patty was fantastic. Topped off with a fantastic citron lemon tart - wow! The prices were fair, the quality was excellent, the service terrific. We're making this place our must stop.

Mariza M.

Yelp
The Best Restaurant In Chelan ! Amazing Ambiance and service ! Honestly these dishes are my favorites and the only thing I can say I dislike is the hours they're open because I wish I could have their food whenever in the day!!:) that's how amazing their food is!!

Emma V.

Yelp
Past 3 times we've been here our order have been forgotten, they changed their menu from good to way worse, and today we had to wait for over an hour with a reservation to get our food: a burger and salad. Families arriving after us got their food in a reasonable time and had time to get dessert. Last time we were here we got raw chicken. Also . Stop calling your green salad a Salade Verte when you're waitresses don't know what that means. This place has gone to shit.

Yelp
Great cozy restaurant in a little house near center of town. Limited parking in front. You definitely need a reservation. Staff is super friendly and helped facilitate our seating as we got to restaurant 15 mins before our reservation and party was still at the table they had earmarked for us. No problem. 5 mins later they had set-up another 2 top and we were seated. You feel like you are in someone's house the way they have it decorated inside. Very warm and inviting. Service was prompt and we got started with a French Onion soup and a buratta appetizer. Nice yellow heirloom tomato on the buratta plate and the mozzarella was very fresh. Followed up with Caesar and Niçoise salads ... both well put together. Main course was to split steak frites. Delivered medium rare as we asked with a chimmichuri sauce. Service was outstanding throughout the meal. Very attentive to make sure everything was just right. Skipped dessert this time. With a glass of a nice local Cabernet Franc, and a 20% tip we checked out at $111, about $55 pp. High for Chelan, but this is 5-star dining in Chelan. Good food, unpretentious service, comfy location. Well done

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks and ambience! Everything exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return!

Yelp
Great food, drinks and service. We love the Bistro. I highly recommend it. Reservations are highly recommended.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Chelan, hands down! The minute you walk in, you can tell it's a classy place. The decor is awesome to include the bathroom. The service was spot on as well. There were five of us for lunch and everyone raved about their choices. We had the Bistro salad, steak frites and the crab melt. Two of us got soup: clam chowder and tomato bisque. everything tasted delicious! My steak was cooked perfectly and the food was seasoned to perfection. We were there during lunch time and the steak frites was $20 during lunch hours and $28 during dinner hours. I was perfectly satisfied with the amount of food that came on the lunch sized portion. I'll definitely be back and I'll bring more family and friends.

Teresa K.

Yelp
great food, service, reasonably priced, and absolutely darling setting! we showed up without reservations and they seated our group of 8 right away at a great location. we will come back!

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
I had the Bistro BLT for lunch. Asked the waitress to go light on the aioli, but it was dripping! That's a shame because it alters the texture of the delicious sourdough bread. next time I will say no to the aioli and the Gruyère. I used to visit that building when I was a child nearly 80 years ago. it housed Dr. Piro's home and office.

Christa C.

Yelp
This was a surprisingly wonderful experience. The food was so good, ambiance was romantic, and service was super friendly and enjoyable. We started with the fresh baguette and they happily accommodated a request with olive oil and balsamic with s&p for dipping. It went great with the butter they provide. For our main dishes, we shared the cavatappi and croque madame over a bottle of Chardonnay (maybe 2 ). Both were so fresh and delicious. If you're in Lake Chelan, go here. If you're nearby, it's worth it to go out of the way to eat here.

Yelp
Located near a gas station and busy road with view of parking lot, Bistro failed to live up to its name as the service, ambiance and food was no where near "bistro" quality. Furthermore, I don't know how Bistro justified charging Sorrento's / Wapato Point Cellars Grill / Vin du Lac price when it is clearly not at their level. Outdoor seating arrangement was crowded, and with the restaurant surrounded by heat reflecting pavement, today's 96F heat felt unbearable as there was not enough greenery, no mist spraying system or even ice water. Their limited menu consists of dishes that repeats the same ingredients over and over again. We ordered charcuterie board, green salad, steak frites, langoustine, and chicken pasta. The charcuterie board has the same nuts and dried fruits in the salad, the pasta had the same oil drenched peppers as the charcuterie. The pasta was too oily and the curry flavor unpleasant (and I usually love eating all types of curry). The langoustine portion was small, the shell completely uncracked, and we were not provided with any tools or wipes to eat this messy dish. It came with a soggy side of sliced potato salad with pickles that was also unappetizing. All other dishes were mediocre; the only food I liked was their warm baguette, but only got a little bit of it on the charcuterie, and did not want to spend $6 for more for just the baguette. Overall, we were quite disappointed as it was night and day compared to our meal at Wapato Point Cellars last night.

Yelp
The food and ambiance were great. What wasn't so great was we waited well over an hour for our food, while we watched several tables , both larger & smaller, that came in way after us get served b4 us. Sadly our waitress never communicated anything or offered any attention while we patiently waited.... Would give this service a one star
