Korean fusion street food like bulgogi quesadillas & KFC

"A concept that began as a pop-up and grew into a permanent spot, demonstrating the momentum behind pop-up chefs turning successful short-term projects into lasting restaurants." - Beth McKibben

"This Korean street food restaurant from Gavin Lee and Chloe Jung recently opened at the Hugh Howell Marketplace in Tucker. On weekdays, the Bite of Korea offers a lunch box special (or dosirak) featuring a choice of meat (bulgogi, jeyuk pork, or Korean fried chicken), fried or white rice, soup and salad, batter-fried vegetables, and mandu (dumplings) for around $15." - Beth McKibben

"At Hugh Howell Marketplace I found the Bite of Korea (BOK), owned by Gavin Lee and Chloe Jung, which opened last week and joins the pizzeria Antico at the complex. Like the pop-up, BOK serves a similar menu that includes its popular bulgogi quesadillas, soy garlic Korean fried chicken, so-dduk skewers, and japchae noodles." - Beth McKibben

"At the Hugh Howell Marketplace, Korean street food restaurant the Bite of Korea (BOK), owned by Gavin Lee and Chloe Jung, is set to open Friday, October 7, joining Antico, all-day breakfast and brunch chain First Watch, and a forthcoming location of Gusto at the shopping complex." - Beth McKibben

"A Korean street-food pop-up run by Gavin Lee and Chloe Jung is becoming a permanent restaurant in Tucker this September at the Publix-anchored Hugh Howell Marketplace; the new spot should serve a similar menu to the pop-up, including its popular bulgogi quesadillas, soy garlic Korean fried chicken, so-dduk skewers, and japchae noodles. The South Korean natives had originally planned to open the Clairmont Cafe in a former cafeteria on Century Place just before the pandemic but quickly pivoted to a mobile kitchen, frequently popping up at restaurants along Buford Highway, at Italian restaurant A Mano in the Old Fourth Ward, and at festivals across Atlanta. Jung says this move to brick-and-mortar has been “the biggest blessing” thanks to guest support, and that the Bite of Korea will be the first Korean restaurant in the city of Tucker." - Beth McKibben
