The Bite on Belmont

This is a great food cart pod area. There is a fantastic variety of different options. The layout is also really great. It has tables and chairs and areas for dogs. What I especially love is that there is a coffee cart which is superb. I highly recommend the Bite on Belmont. It is a great setting.

I love this place. You usually always catch at least a few spots open, even on holidays. There is a great variety and i haven't had a bad meal here yet in all the time it's been around. I always go back.

This place is awesome! Order food, then get beers. Then eat! All the carts have amazing food, so its perfect for a group with diverse tastes. A must go!!

There's so many options here. Viking, Thai, coffee, mac and cheese, tacos and I'm forgetting like 4 other things. Tucked in a quiet area, so there's always parking nearby. I recommend the Polse at Viking Soul Food

It's great! Quaint little area with various eclectic food carts. I work blocks away and visit frequently. Early in the week a few carts are closed. My favorite is the Mexican but there is also a killer macaroni and cheese place. Places to sit as well as a covered enclosure.

So far I only ever get food from one of the pods in the bite on Belmont, the Mexican food pod just inside the entrance. I suppose I would do a better job rating it if I tried the other food vendors as well. The Mexican food vendor inside The Bite is excellent, and I especially like their epasote, mushroom, onion and black bean tacos. I'm not a vegetarian, so it says a lot when a food can get my attention if it doesn't have meat in it, but they're great!

Stop by to sample all of the different foods that are made fresh on site from local vendors. Today I grabbed a coffee and bagel to enjoy on their open seating patio. Dogs are welcome,so bring the pooch.

Small but mighty Food Cart pod on Belmont with a surprisingly diverse selection of cuisines. And all are amazingly good! Whether you are in the mood for traditional Mexican, Brazilian, Japanese sushi or dumplings, Mac & Cheese, Hawaiian, Thai, Scandinavian / Viking soul food (yes, you read that correctly), Boy Howdy Sandwiches or coffee, there's a cart serving up some fresh and tasty food. Everything made to order. Many vegan and gluten-free options. There is even a bar cart in the back end of the pod so you can enjoy a beer, cider or wine along with your food. Lots of picnic tables, many covered, so there is always a place to sit. While The Bite on Belmont is just a small footprint - you can drive right past without seeing it - they really have designed the space to house a lot of food carts, all with their own unique little design. Parking is not the easiest since it's street parking and there are other restaurants and businesses on both sides of the street. But if you have to park a few blocks away, it's with it. So glad that I discovered this pod and have tried a few carts and plan on making my way through them all. Most are open until 8pm. Some carts take off some days so either check their Instagram or be open to try a different cart. They are all good.

Picked up some food here & went to comedy in the park, but there's plenty of picnic tables if you choose to stay. Definitely a casual, chill spot. It's open air, but some tables are under a canopy. We had the chicken cheesesteak since they were out of the regular one, the meatball sub and fries. It took maybe 5-10 mins to come out, service was super friendly and the food was a treat. Big fan of the seasoning on the fries! Came back the next week for the buffalo chicken sub & the Philly cheesesteak they were out of the first time. Have to say I liked the subs more than the cheesesteaks, but others felt the opposite-- so it's really just your preference. Everything was good!

Great food cart pod on Belmont. My 2 favorites here are Viking Soul Food and Herbs mac and cheese. From the pics below you can see how good they look. The leif (wrap) is sooo good! The goat cheese gravy puts it over the top. Herbs mac and cheese has all sorts of options and varieties. In my top 3 or 4 places for mac and cheese in pdx. There are also some good variety of other carts here. A Hawaiian. A vegan deli, a Thai/pan Asian and a coffee cart to name a few. Great pod if you are in the area!

Nice food cart pod on Belmont. On the small side. I have only been to Nice Coffee, but everything was so nice and clean. Outside heaters. Tables that were clean. Everything seemed appropriately spread out given we are in year whatever of a pandemic. I look forward to coming back when I am in town again.

Great little food cart spot. There is a wide variety of foods offered. They also have a covered area with tables so you can eat your meal there. I highly recommend the Japanese/sushi cart. They offer sushi burritos which are good sized and delicious. The service is super fast (I think I got my order within 5 minutes of ordering!). And the food presentation is great, does not look sloppy at all. They definitely take their time with your order!

Boy Howdy sandwiches are best I've ever eaten!!! Amazing flavor in every bite!!! Highly recommend:)

Lots of Covid-friendly, open air, covered and heated seating! So many choices AND beer and wine! @Viking Soul Food is a definite reason to come back! Also fancy Mac and cheese and a great burrito, too! Coming back here!

I ate at the Mexican place. The Sarape Burrito was dripping in grease. Wouldn't recommend.

This little spot is so hidden, tucked in the middle of a pretty busy street across from slappy cakes. We went to slappy cakes and found out it was a 1.5 hour wait. We went out to find a coffee shop to wait and luckily saw the food carts across the street. Lots of decent options and like Thai, Mac n cheese coffee and etc. this review is strictly for the location and cleanliness. I loved that there was heated indoor type seating option! Will def come back here!

Worth a visit. I was fortunate to be house and dog sitting a few blocks away from this pod of good carts. Whatever you want, you can find here. I made many visits and when my son visited from Seattle it was his preferred place to eat. There is even a coffee place which opens early and a place for beer, wine and liquor. There is Brazilian, Mexican, Hawaiian, Japanese, Vega Mac n Cheese and my personal favorite, Scandinavian Soul Food (available only at this location). There are outdoor tables with umbrellas and tented seating for when it rains. Come visit and you'll find something to enjoy .

Cute hole in the wall food truck outlet, I've only had coffee here twice but I can't get myself to try anyplace else. The team is personable and relaxed. Great choices.

Everything I've had here has been excellent! The ramen is very good, sushi and suchiritos are fantastic, and sometimes they have this sir fried udon noodle dish that's just delicious! The can't miss dish though is the hand made dumplings, I get them every time!!

This was the second time I've been to this cluster of food carts. There used to be a food pod across the street from the current one called good food here. There are some of the same the same carts and also some new ones I believe. They have a good selection and also serve beer and wine. The seating area and ambiance is nice. I ordered a gyro and was satisfied as usual. It's never very overcrowded like some areas can get which is convenient.

This was an awesome little find on my trip to Portland. I tried the Macaroni and Cheese which was excellent!

Great little food truck pod with covered and heated seating plus a bar truck. My hubby had shrimp pineapple fried rice and I had the salmon lefse wrap from Viking Soul Food, both our meals were great.

This is a wonderful food cart area. Great selection of food, reasonable prices and friendly cart operators, BUT the hours are horrible. Get there before 8pm if you expect to get anything. You may find one or two open past 8pm but the majority will be closed. Got there last Friday (7/29/17) about 8:20pm with two adults and four kids and the majority of the carts were closed. Understand closing at 8pm in the winter when it's dark by 5pm and it's cold and raining, but a beautiful summer evening. This rating would be a five if the carts had better hours. Been there well after 9pm enjoying a beer when it's just Hindsight and Namu open and I have witnessed many folks walking in and turning around and walking out because the type of food they wanted was unavailable. Please better summer hours.
