My wife and I took a recent trip to Boston and knew we wanted to find an Irish pub, but there were so many, we had trouble deciding where to go. On our first day, we asked a local (with bright red hair and an Irish Bostian accent, of course), and he suggested the Black Rose. It was the best recommendation we got the whole weekend!
This is a beautiful, wood paneled, old-feel Irish pub with live music and a wonderful atmosphere. Often, when the band is playing and everyone in the bar is singing and clapping along, conversation at your table is impossible. But, there are plenty of times when the band plays something more low-key, or takes a break that you can have a conversation.
Our bill was $144, BUT don't let that scare you. Both my wife and I had multiple drinks (over $50 at the bar), an appetizer (corned beef and cabbage egg rolls), and ultimately 3 entrees.
We were really enjoying the band and hung out for over an hour and a half. Entrees, on average, were around the $20 mark, and we could've eaten for much cheaper.
Everything we ate was delicious. I've eaten at a lot of Irish pubs, including in Savannah, GA. However, the Guinness stew was probably the best I've ever had! We enjoyed it on my wife's trio so much, we ordered an extra entree of it because we wanted more.
