We rented a part of The Blackbird for our rehearsal dinner for our wedding weekend, and it was phenomenal! From working with them via email to plan the event, to the meal, to the service, we were blown away. We initially thought we would pick one option from the set menu for our guests to have, but they get to choose each option they want! Everything from the starters to the desserts was absolutely delicious! The servers were so kind and quick! Our dinner party was about 55 people, and everything went so smoothly. I would do our rehearsal dinner here over and over again.

We did outdoor seating on a beautiful day. Didn’t have reservations to eat here, but they let us have seats outside and the menu looks good. Fresh food and ingredients and some amazing accommodating servers and staff. Definitely a good breakfast or brunch spot to try in Asheville

The Blackbird has some nice touches, but overall the experience was a bit underwhelming, especially considering the price point. The service was definitely a highlight—friendly and attentive without being overbearing. As for the food, it looked beautiful, but the flavors didn’t always land. The corn and feta pie came in a broth that felt more confusing than complementary—it didn’t really add to the dish and kind of threw the balance off. The bread starter with cheese was solid, and the candied pecans were a nice touch, but not enough to elevate the overall experience. For the quality of the dishes, the prices felt steep. It’s not that the food was bad—it just didn’t quite meet expectations for the cost. If you’re looking for great service in a cozy setting, it’s worth checking out, but don’t expect to be wowed by the food.

We (party of 2) came for dinner after reading the Chef's online menu offerings and "Farm-to-table" descriptions. It started with my better half ordering a spicy margarita, and I had a sparkling water. Unfortunately the manufactured jalapeno infused Tequila was the only effort placed into this spicy margarita. No Tajin as requested, no muttled peppers as expected. Just an overpriced tasteless miss. I'll address our menu items as we go, seems the pragmatic way to continue this review. We ordered the "Pork Rinds with Honey" since my girlfriend had never had the oppurtunity to try this southern snack. Unfortunately pouring pork rinds from a bag, and drizzling some local honey does not impress, especially when charged $6. Yes, the pork rinds were room temperature cold. No hint of freshness, or attempt to heat slightly to make it appear anything but what it was...pitiful. Next we ordered the "Caeser Salad" which sounded refreshing with house made caeser dressing and tallow croutons. The salad was a very generous portion, but for $17 it should've been. Unfortunately it fell short. The croutons were not fresh, and quite soggy, the dressing albeit generous was bland and tasteless. We ate less than ½ of the pork rinds, and less than half the salads. Next were the entrees, I wish I had better news. I ordered the crawfish stuffed flounder and fingerling potatoes. The potatoes and the sauce were excellent. The flounder was stiff and dry as though it was wrapped around the crawfish mash days ago. Yes I said crawfish mash, the crawfish were clearly frozen as their texture was dry without spring (yes, I know crawfish), and worst was the baseball sized burnt area of the flounder that was like a charred wafer, but thick. At $32, someone besides myself should be ashamed of this being served. My better half ordered the "Shoulder Steak with Asparagus, and Fingerling Potatoes ($46)." She ordered the steak "medium-rare-plus." Her potatoes, sauce, and first bites of steak she said were "very good." The asparagus was cooked beyond recognition and left untouched. After enjoying the start of her meal, unfortunately the hidden pieces of shoulder steak were found to still be very rare, purple in color (see photos). Very disappointing. Just to note...I will not send back food to a chef. I am paying for what is on the menu. I expect him/her to do their job. I am not there to be his preceptor or his Quality control officer to correct the errors. And this evening, choosing this restaurant was a complete error, not to be repeated!!! (pictures upon request). If we would like to discuss "kitchen appreciation added" topic to the discussion. Yes, it is in the small print on the menu. An amount or percentage are not explained ahead of time and just added quietly to the bill. Just because it is on the menu does not make it an expected and routine charge. This is deceptive. You should be better than this, especially at these prices!

My wife and I tried Black Bird for the first time and we were pleased. We had a 5:30 reservation and basically had the dining room to ourselves. By the time we left the room was full. We tried the red & golden beet appetizer, the goat cheese corn pie and the heritage pork chop. All of the food was flavorful and fresh. For two glasses of wine, and app, and two entrees we spent $113 before tip. Definitely a place with trying and we are happy to have found another local restaurant to add to our date night list. Cheers!

Google
First time here and this place made a great first impression on me and my wife. We love trying new places to eat. We will be adding this one to our list of spots to return to. The restaurant has a nice vibe to it and our service was pretty good as well. I had the corned beef hash and my wife had the goat cheese omelet and neither disappointed. If you're ever in Asheville swing by there for a nice brunch

TL;DR - steak I ordered to medium well was RAW, like actually blue rare, even after sending it back. Waitress was so kind and gave me a huge discount. If you’re going to eat here do not come within 30 min of close. I was so disappointed in my experience here. I decided to grab lunch here at 2pm-ish. I walked in and there were only 2 other tables and the staff was doing side work. I asked if they were already closing down and if the kitchen was still open. The host assured me they were not closing, the kitchen was still up, and sat me. I ordered the steak and shrimp Caesar salad at the waitress’s recommendation. I ordered my steak medium well. When the dish came out my steak was raw. Like RAW, raw. Not even blue rare; it wasn’t even seared on all sides. I scraped the steak pieces onto the bread plate and flagged down the waitress. She was mortified and took the steak back to be put back on the grill. In the meantime I ate the salad, which was fine. The shrimp was cooked well and the greens were dressed perfectly. The coupons weren’t my favorite due to texture and the flavor did not complement the salad very well. When the steak came back out ~5 min later it was still blue rare. The waitress was so, so kind and kept apologizing profusely. She ended up taking half off the dish. Here’s the thing - I understand it was 30 min till mid-day close. I’m sure the kitchen was already cleaned and they were pissed to have to dirty up the grill again. I truly wish the restaurant would have told me the kitchen was already winding down for the afternoon rather than serve me subpar food. Serving people a damn near raw steak is going to give someone a food borne illness.

This place was great and right next to our hotel. Veryyyy delicious! I would highly recommend this place. Our server Maya was great!

Yelp
Fabulous food and service.... In an upscale, but relaxed setting. My adult son and I were passing through Asheville and stopped here for lunch/brunch. The Braised Beef Benedict was the best my son has ever had.... And my Corned Beef and Hash and Eggs was fantastic. Campbell, our server was perfect! Very warm and helpful. Thanks Blackbird for a great lunch experience!

Yelp
We have walked by this restaurant several times and have always seen it busy, so we decided to check it out when my parents were in town. My dad likes a steak, and I'm a vegetarian. This restaurant was perfect for us both! I was very impressed with the vegetarian section on the menu. I ordered the beet and zucchini stack as an appetizer and the goat cheese corn pie as an entree. The beet and zucchini stack was a fresh take on a typical beet salad, especially as a stack. I liked that it had the crunch from the nuts and some cheese on top. I loved the goat cheese corn pie, though. It was warm and very filling! It was very creative with the mushrooms and kale to dress up the pie, which felt more like a shepherd's pie-type of pie than the quiche-style pie I was expecting. What a great dish! The service was friendly and patient. I am happy the waiter recommended my entree dish from the veggie selection. I also really liked the decor, especially the outlines of birds on the walls. I would definitely come back here again!

Yelp
Had a fantastic wagyu hash breakfast bowl here. PERFECT for a morning after meal. If you prefer something on the lighter side, then the fattiness of the wagyu may not be for you. For us, it was hearty and delicious! The potatoes soaked up all of the fat and added to the heartiness of the bowl.

Yelp
The hostess was so nice and friendly. Walker provided amazing service. He had great recommendations too. The food is so fresh and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and our experience sitting on the patio. I highly recommend this friendly staff and amazing chef! Right from the start with the friendly hostess this place had 5 stars for me.

Yelp
The service was super nice and helpful. The restaurant is a cool mix of old bar and modern diner. The food was average. The grits which I came for had a good flavor and consistency, yet it contained corn kernels. The eggs were scrambled to a good texture. The biscuit was super hard on the bottom. The weirdest thing was the condiments were not brought to the table .. I had to ask for butter, salt, sugar, and pepper. I will be back because I think this place has potential. We'll try again.

Yelp
Some of the most delicious biscuits I've ever tasted! We stopped in for brunch while visiting Asheville. I had the shrimp and grits, which had such a flavorful broth. I ended up stealing the biscuit that came with my husband's omelet because it was so, so good dipped in the shrimp, tomato and sausage broth. Hubby had the goat cheese omelet, and loved that as well. Portions were very sizeable. Located in downtown Asheville, would definitely recommend this spot!

Yelp
Since my first review was misplaced I will try again. We had lunch at Blackbird last week. We ordered two Cobb salads with shrimp. We received two salads with so much vinegar that it was truly hard to eat. One shrimp each, stale bacon and onions with again a lot of vinegar. They brought out additional shrimp after we inquired about the amount. It was a truly a dismal lunch. It is not easy to mess up Cobb Salad. We won't ever go back. The waitress was pleasant.

Yelp
We ate at Blackbird for brunch today. It's a cute restaurant. The bartender was really friendly and attentive. For food, I ordered the rice bowl with braised beef. The serving is massive! I loved the variety of veggies and the braised beef was really flavorful. My husband ordered the fried chicken with biscuits and gravy. It was excellent as well. We both ordered bloody Mary's, which came with all the goodies0". Bacon, celery, jalapeño, cheese stuffed olive, and chicharron. Yum!

Yelp
We went here last night and tried a bunch of delicious things. Apparently there's a new "chef's snack" every night. Last night we had this amazing beet/potato croquette situation. My mom had the most incredible melt in your mouth tenderloin, my stepdad got some amazing salmon, and I got some duck breast. All were excellent. So was the peach pecan pie dessert that we got. Service was great too. I'm surprised this place has a 3.8--- we were all so happy with the food.

Yelp
I had brunch at the Blackbird and overall enjoyed the experience. My group and I started by sharing the beignets, which were light and not too sweet. I had the braised eggs benedict on a biscuit, which I liked, but it was missing a bit of flavor or possibly salt. My husband's shrimp and grits were the star of the meal. My mom's egg BLT was good, just fairly basic. A few tables that ordered after us got their food long before us, and the meal took quite a while, but our server was extremely apologetic and kind, and he informed us that they were understaffed that day. I'd like to try their dinner sometime.

Yelp
One of the BEST meals I have eaten in a long time. We started with the olive bread and its perfectly baked crust and hints of Kalamata olives. The beet & shaved zucchini salad had my taste buds dancing especially with the perfect balance of pecans and crispy bacon. My main course was the mussels also perfectly cooked with a broth I could drink. Speaking of drinks, my mocktail was the best. A very clever blend of sparkling water, basil & a slight hint of rosemary that I will try desperately to replicate at home. Service was impeccable and super friendly. I STRONGLY recommend Blackbird for its cozy yet upscale atmosphere, charming service and EXCELLENT food!!!

Yelp
You want a true farm to table fine dining experience in downtown Asheville? You got it right here! Unbelievably friendly service throughout the whole evening, from our main server to the helpers who brought the food, down to the bartender and owner who checked on us throughout the evening. My wife and I chose the 6 course tasting menu since we haven't been here before and wanted to experience what the chef had in store for the evening. The 6 course dinner, including a palate cleanser in between costs $65. Less than $10 per course if you include the palate cleanser. What an unbelievably great price for what we you get in this fine dining establishment. Every course was outstanding. First two started off with a tasty shrimp bisque followed by fresh roasted mushrooms with the most amazing celery root puree. Next came the 2 seafood courses, the melt in your mouth scallop gratin followed by a perfectly cooked mountain trout with red rice salad. The braised beef for our 5th course didn't need a knife, it was that tender. We finished off with a decadent truffle medley for dessert. Each and every course had depth to flavor and portioned perfectly so you were completely satiated by the evening's end. Highly recommend both the tasting menu and the regular menu for a great downtown Asheville fine dining experience. This chef can cook!

Yelp
Great brunch spot and our avocado toast was delicious! My pineapple mimosa hit the spot. We asked to sit by the front window that was open, and were told no. But no one sat there the whole time (weird!) It was a little loud, as the ceilings are high and open. But overall we were pleased. This was easy to get into through Open Table.

Yelp
Went here for brunch on our last day in Asheville. The space is decorated like spring I loved my Bloody Mary and Toad in a hole with avocado and pico de gallo. It was so well seasoned. My friend got the turkey with Brie. She said it was too smoky but did enjoy it.
google avatar

Allie W.

Yelp
One of the best brunches I had in a while! Everything was so good and our entire table loved it. Got the Irish coffee and the grapefruit mimosa - both were delicious. For my entree I got the goat cheese omelette with GF toast and it was amazing! Bacon and grits that came with it were so good as well. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Judy M.

Yelp
Excellent service, delicious food. The goat cheese omelette was superb. The bacon was crispy and perfectly salty , the biscuit was melt in your mouth buttery and a single mimosa started a tingle in my fingertips. Our server was cute, polite and very informative. Outstanding!

Yelp
Brunch at Blackbird over the Christmas holiday. Something was off!! The place was almost empty, and the service was still horrendously slow. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were a bother to the staff. For the culinary options we have available in Asheville, Blackbird is mediocre at best. Nothing special to the Brunch options; maybe dinner is better????
google avatar

Harry H.

Yelp
Probably the worst sandwich I ever had. I got the Brisket which was really 1 week old overcooked dry ingles roast beef. It came with greasy fries. It was a Friday at 1 pm 70 degrees out and there were 7 people in the entire restaurant. There were 14 empty tables. My wife got the smelly crab cakes. We did not send the food back . We took one bite. I paid the bill and they ask us for a container for the rest of our food but I wouldn't even give it to my dog
google avatar

Leah C.

Yelp
The food here was good, solid food for brunch but nothing extraordinary. We enjoyed our meals and the staff was mostly attentive and helpful. I would have liked something "different" from them but it is what it is. I enjoy the dinner here a bit more as they are more experimental and fun with the dinner. I still recommend The blackbird to anyone who wants a good meal without the fuss. The Bloody Mary was excellent!
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Modern, chic, light interior. We tried the Chef's tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was very good, but the timing was off; the courses didn't flow, because there was too much time between them. This is the hallmark of a chef, if you can't do it right, take it off the menu. The substituted heirloom tomato gazpacho was really good and perfect for the weather, paired with a Pinot Grigiot. This was followed by grilled mushrooms, lots of flavor, but tough., still paired well with a Ken Wright Pinot Noir. The scallop was excellent and paired with a Chablis. The trout was also very good, but the accompanying red rice was undercooked. The braised beef and grits was okay; it should have been more tender.

Deirdre G.

Yelp
Food and veggie options were outstanding. Service was friendly & excellent. Cocktails were delicious

Yelp
Award-winning food, desserts, drinks & service. Seating available at the bar or dining areas for singles, couples or groups. Brunch or Dinner Services. Fresh, Delicious & Unique Food & Deserts. Craft Beer & Extensive Wine List. I had the smoked pork chop with sweet potato, toasted pepita's, fennel, tomato with peach, maple vinaigrette glaze is exceptional. My wife had the roasted chicken & jalapeno & cheddar sausage served with squash & roasted potatoes. A bottle of white wine complemented our entrees. We shared bourbon soaked chocolate cake topped with bing cherry cream & vanilla ice cream. Fresh brewed french roast coffee complemented our dessert. Awards aside, My wife & I love the exceptional fresh food presentations & tastes in an atmosphere with attentive friendly service. Thanks to Chef Michael & Mark our Waiter. Mustang USMC Retired

Yelp

Yelp
We had brunch here today and I wanted so much to be blown away and sadly I just wasn't. It was good, just not I can't wait to go back good. I had the Eggs Benedict and subbed bacon for the braised pork, the eggs were done perfectly and delicious. The bacon was undercooked, the hollandaise sauce was ok, the biscuit was a huge disappointment, it was cold, very dense, not at all what I was expecting. The grits however were the show stopper, excellent. The jam was delicious. Maybe it was an off day. Server was great however. My friends had the bacon, eggs and biscuits and felt the same way about their food just a little underwhelmed. Great concept, great location, just a little more attention to detail.

Yelp
My husband and I had a phenomenal meal at The Blackbird. We absolutely loved the Brussels sprouts and bone marrow starters, I really enjoyed my trout and scallop risotto and my husband loved his duck dish! The service was top notch and everything was so yummy! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Luisa H.

Yelp
My son brought me to the Blackbird Restaurant to celebrate my birthday with a lovely brunch! It was a long drive from Greenville, but so worth it! The food was delicious! And the service was excellent!
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
We originally found this restaurant on Yelp due to its great reviews and they are spot on! We made reservations for a Saturday night and got seated right away. The server was very nice and provided a great experience. I ordered the Trout and Scallops which came with a vegetable risotto. The Trout and Scallops were delicious. I particularly loved the scallops as they were cooked perfectly! The vegetable risotto needed some assistance as it tasted like rice with mini veggies. Luckily it didn't ruin the dish too much but could've been better. The sun dried tomatoes on top of the Trout was a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try!
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
I was jonesing for a tasting menu but couldn't find the right reservations in Asheville. So I settled on Blackbird and was so pleased to find they had a tasting menu! Had a lovely night at the bar, and recommend adding a cheese or two before starting the tasting, they had great local choices and rounded out the amount of food.
google avatar

Hannah K.

Yelp
Juicy pork chop with untrimmed string beans and canned peach "salad" The best part was the pork chop, as it should be. But it would have been better if the side dishes complimented the pork chop. Canned peaches give it that syrupy flavor.
google avatar

Denise H.

Yelp
So if you have read any of my reviews you know most places do not get a 5 on their first review however, there is no doubt in my mind that this place will get 5 stars the next time I visit! Met some friends here for my birthday brunch and we were all coming in from out of town and traffic was a little wonky. I had a reservation but called to let them know we were running late and Heidi said it was no problem. We finally arrived and they had already let one person from our party sit down. (I love it when restaurants do that. Anyway we had a variety of dishes and they were all delicious! Plenty of bar seating and tables. Cute little restaurant downtown.

Yelp
Everything was great here- we had a very patient, kind server. We enjoyed the food- from chicken and biscuits to challah French toast and farm breakfast. The French press coffee was perfect.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
This place was fantastic. Celebrated a friend's 50th in Asheville in August and I made reservations here for brunch before we all headed out of town. The staff was lovely and our server, Joseph, was amazing. He was attentive and friendly and took great care of our group of 8. The food was delicious and tasted fresh and was full of flavor. Place was casual but could easily have been great for a fancier meal for brunch or dinner! Homemade biscuits are a must and anything that involves them is a great choice. Would definitely recommend and I would go back when I am back in Asheville.

Dave

Yelp
Creative and well prepared food with excellent service.in a comfortable and pleasant setting.

Yelp
The Blackbird Restaurant is a great New American spot in Asheville with extensive options for vegetarian and vegan folks, as well as with gluten-free options. We had a light-ish dinner here before heading to an event nearby. We had a reservation but it was sparsely populated when we were there (around 5:30 pm on a Wednesday) so we easily could have walked in and been seated immediately. It's a cool comfortable atmosphere to be in and we had plenty to choose from. (One of us is vegetarian and one is gluten-free.) There's a whole separate "Vegetarian & Vegan" menu on their menu (in addition to plenty for meat and fish eaters). We shared the Warm Fruit & Local Brie from the "Garden" menu (which is separate from the Vegetarian menu and also has options!). You pretty much can't go wrong with that combination so we were happy with the taste and presentation. We also shared the Goat Cheese Corn pie which sounded like it was going to be indulgent but was actually perfect shared between the 2 of us. These were both fine dining vegetarian dishes and, as I've mentioned, there are plenty more of those to choose from. If we lived in Asheville, we'd come back to try them all!

Natalie K.

Yelp
Deliciously crafted food with an elevated atmosphere. Truly superior service and I had a frustrated middle schooler in tow and the staff were wonderful and welcoming and made it such a lovely experience. Stopped by for brunch and really enjoyed the cinnamon coconut challah French toast with the pineapple mimosa!

Yelp
Foood was out of this world! I haven't had a delightful and rich meal like this in so long. The restaurant atmosphere was wonderful. The decor in the place was quite tasteful as well. Our server was very friendly and she even guided us to a great bar to go to afterwards! Two complaints; it took us over an hour and a half to receive our entrees and we even had to ask our server if there was an issue! I genuinely think they forgot about our orders or maybe they were just sitting there because when we ate them, they were a bit room temp and seemed as if they were sitting there. She apologized and we obviously knew it wasn't her fault. And oh my, when the food runner brought over the mussels, he reached over my head with the bowl and managed to spill the mussel broth on my damn head and in my hair. It was weird, but I didn't freak or anything, was just kind of flabbergasted. The waitress brought over a warm towel and I was able to get some out of my hair, but a shower was necessary. Other than that, the food was incredible and I definitely would return! They were super busy and packed so things like this happen!

Keith B.

Yelp
Overall fairly disappointing experience. Came in for our anniversary and had very high hopes based on reviews and the menu. Our waitress seemed... off and pretty awkward. The pull apart French bread was tasty and the crab bisque was good, minus the small piece of shell I got. I was very excited to see duck breast on the menu, but the skin wasn't crispy, the mashed potatoes were lumpy and bland and the succotash tasted like microwavable veggie blend. The wild mushroom risotto was also very bland which was surprising because of the black truffle pieces in it. The steak tips were tasty and clearly a decent cut of steak. The food wasn't bad, but with so many amazing restaurants nearby I wouldn't come back.

Peggy P.

Yelp
Great food! Excellent service. This place is worth the stop! We were in Asheville on vacation and stopped here. The food was phenomenal! I had the classic blackbird cocktail and my boyfriend had the cooler. Both were wonderful. We chose the jalapeño cornbread and fried Brussel sprouts for starters. The Brussel sprouts were so good, I wanted to lick the bowl! I had the seafood risotto and my boyfriend had the herb garden couscous. The scallops on the seafood risotto were prepared perfectly. The spice on them was just right and the risotto was soft but not mushy. The couscous was very flavorful and filling. If I lived here, I would be here once a week. And on top of this our service team was friendly and made excellent suggestions. He told me that I couldn't go wrong with the Brussel sprouts. OMG. I would fly back just for those!!!!!!!

Yelp
Awesome brunch spot! I got the toad in a hole and wife got the goat cheese omelette, both great. Great house made sausage too. Service was good. Seating near the bar (where they were putting everyone) is a little too tight. Feel like you're sitting on top of each other. Would def go back

Yelp
3.5 and i'll round up bc i would try it again. My fiance ordered mussles appetzer and that was the highlight of the meal. The mussles were HUGE and the mustard-wine sauce really unique. The menu has 2 tempting vegetarian options and the waiter sold me on the vegetable Wellington. The presentation is better than the taste. It was good but I've had much better. The flavor profile of the veggie stuffing was a little flat.i would come back to try the other vegetarian entree. My fiance said his fish entree, although highly recommended by the waiter, was such a light flavor. Maybe some people like really light seafood dishes so it would be good for some. My drink the Blackbird vodka drink was excellent whereas my fiances scotch cocktail was not good and would not recommend it.

Yelp
After a few five star meals in a row in asheville, I had pretty high hopes for this one. Thought we were on a roll. However, this one missed the mark just slightly. Started with the mussels and clam appetizer. Came in a white wine mustard butter sauce. This was delicious. Huge mussels and the sauce was perfect. If I had a complaint it would be that we needed more sauce and more bread to soak it up with. Then moved in to the trout and scallop risotto on the recommendation of the server. I asked for a recommendation between this and their duck and I was leaning heavily duck, but he sold me on this. I liked it-there's no doubt that this was good and an impressive attempt at seafood, but the flavors were very mild. This is a light dish, so keep that in mind. I needed to add some salt and pepper to really bring out the flavors. Still, while not excellent, it was very good and I'd recommend it to someone looking for a light seafood dish. The other item I ordered was their scotch cocktail. Here's the thing-you don't make cocktails with scotch, at least not a peaty scotch. Maybe a smoky old fashioned but that's what this was-an attempt at a peaty scotch old fashioned-esq type of cocktail. It didn't work. Scotch should really be served neat or with a bit of ice or water but that's it. I guess I'd give an "A" for effort but it had a weird aftertaste and the peaty-ness of the scotch didn't balance well with the sweetness of the other ingredients. So, to sum up, excellent appetizer, a very good entree and a miss on the drink but a brave effort. Maybe that's not a 4 star meal but I feel like 3 stars is "I wouldn't come back," and I would come back here and try something else. I'd still recommend you check it out.

Yelp
Went here one Sunday for brunch and it was surprisingly empty. But I ordered the corned beef hash, the folks with me got the regular breakfast and the steak and shrimp cesar salad. Oh. My. God. Everything was so delectable. I was considering going back again today to get more of the hash. Remember me from last Sunday! Back again! I hope it was empty because of the weather. That place is a hit as far as I'm concerned.

Yelp
The manager, hostess and a young white male server seemed more occupied with talking about their personal lives than being attentive to customers walking in. So we sat at the bar, Nicole the bartender was great and personable! She was constantly running around to make sure her customers and the drinks were made timely for the wait staff. Highly recommend for the food and Nicole's service!!

Yelp
Seasoned, high quality southern inspired cuisine with a French-ish angle? I honestly don't know how to describe it but whatever it's called...sign us up for more of it. Great service, local/regional ingredients, welcoming, intimate atmosphere and 'decent' company in my case made for a great lunch two days in a row. We'll be back again for sure!!!

Yelp
Service was amazing. "On the spot" bourbon and tequila cocktails were delicious. Good mix of new and old cocktail/restaurant vibes.

Yelp
The ambiance was great, food was so good and the service was excellent. Everyone was so kind and setting up the large group dinner was a breeze!

Yelp
The food was delicious. I enjoyed the trout + scallop risotto, and loved that the trout in my entrée was sourced locally. Our party also ordered the braised beef pappardelle which was great. My hesitation in is due to the level of service we received. We both opted for the option on the drink menu for bartender to craft his own cocktail based on our spirit preferences. But when the server brought our respective drinks over, she simply put them down and walked away. I was hoping for a bit of explanation about what the bartender crafted for us? But I had to ask to get some sort of context. It felt odd that there was no enthusiasm from the staff. Lastly, when making our reservation I noted that it was for a birthday occasion, but that was not acknowledged by the staff either. That was also a letdown considering that I have had a celebratory response in past years at other downtown restaurants.

Yelp
Food was fantastic along with service. Nice spot to people watch. Hubs had the cold smoked pork chop and I had the duck confit. I had the bone marrow appetizer. I wished there was more!! Hubs had the chicharrones (pork rinds)

Yelp
My fiancé and I were excited to try this place since we moved here. We went tonight and had a pretty unpleasant experience. The service was exceptionally bad. We'd see our server every 20-30 minutes, when we asked for something it would be an additional 20 minutes until we'd see her again. To top everything off, we gave the server 2 cards to split the check and she ran 1 card twice. Disappointing service from a restaurant with such high pricing. This review would be higher if the food was amazing but food was overpriced for its presentation. All this to say, enjoy your night out somewhere else. There are plenty of delicious restaurants in Asheville without the poor service and over priced dishes.
