18 Perfect Phoenix Restaurant Patios for Dining Alfresco

"The Blind Pig in Scottsdale fills a much-needed niche in the Valley’s Italian food scene: New York-style Italian. This husband-and-wife duo-owned and operated spot is run by Michele and Brandon Gioffre. True to form, they fly in ingredients from the East Coast, and anything else not made on site is imported directly from Italy. While the menu often changes, there are always East Coast Italian classics like NY strip, shrimp scampi, chicken parmigiana, and linguine with clams. Brandon’s hand-pulled mozzarella, known Valley-wide, is a highlight, and Michele helms the dessert menu. The courtyard patio offers a charming spot to dine alfresco. Although they excel at dinner service, the Blind Pig also offers a fantastic weekend brunch from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m." - Mcconnell Quinn, Nikki Buchanan, jamiekillin, Rudri Patel

As a born-and-raised New Yorker from Westchester/NYC, I felt right at home here. The food was spectacular …from the warm bread to the spicy rigatoni to the chicken scarp, absolutely delicious. Chef Brandon was so welcoming and kind, and our waitress Taylor was the sweetest with outstanding service. The espresso martini was one of my favorites in all of Scottsdale! The desserts are made in house …it put a smile on my kids face. Highly recommend this spot …it’s a true taste of NY with Scottsdale charm.

Definitely our new favorite Italian restaurant. Food is incredible and portions are huge. I would put their bone in veal chop parmesan on par with Carbone. It was easily big enough to feed two people. The pasta with clams was top notch with lots of garlic and calabrian chili. Their lasagna special on Fridays and Saturdays is an insanely large portion with flavors to match. The eggplant stack appetizer was cooked perfectly with the eggplant lightly breaded and fried. The only negative was the food took over an hour to come out and some meals were hot while others were lukewarm. They seem to be getting used to moving into a new, larger space so the timing was off and I'm willing to give them a pass this time while they adjust.

This was a bit of a disappointment. We found them at the Gilbert Farmers Market and got their canoli and it was delicious. Immediately made reservations for a sunday night. There was plenty of seating, didn't need the reservation. The service was slow. Got seated at a table that just was sprayed by the misters so everything was wet and had to be replaced. No big deal except thet forgot to bring us new napkins and silverware without having to ask multiple times. They only take your order (except for drinks) once everyone knows what they want. Meaning you cannot just order and appetizer and the main later (rule doesn't apply for dessert). Everything is made "fresh" but the Calamari came out luke warm. The bread came out hard even though its all supposed to be fresh. Came out with oil but no balsamic vinegar or salt or pepper. Bolognese was too salty to finish and not worth taking home. Chicken parm was good and worth ordering and taking home left overs. They took our dessert order twice and was out 2 of the items. Feels like they would know this upfront, especially after the first time and item was out. Overall the experience (especially for the price) was just a let down. We did end up getting canolis again and they were very good.

Love the new decor! We just sat at the bar and had 2 appetizers which were excellent. The most tender calamari I’ve ever had. The bocconcini was also wonderful, and filling. Looking forward to going back for dinner. Gemell made a perfect spritz from lesser known Italian aperitivo.

DiMaggios Italian Restaurant is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had! The food is authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented — every dish feels like it’s made with care and passion. A huge shoutout to Alex, Max, and Elliot, who made our night truly special. Their service was top-notch — friendly, attentive, and full of personality. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect from start to finish. If you’re looking for incredible Italian cuisine paired with amazing service, DiMaggios is the place to go. Can’t wait to come back!

Very friendly staff, delicious food portion bolognese could be a little more, wine choice could be reviewed. Ow yeah...the music...hmmm loop was done in 20minutes, we heard a song 3 times prior our dishes arrived...so you don not have to be stressed or hungry 😁

The Blind Pig has been on my list for months now after meeting the owner at the Uptown Farmers Market and hearing about their great dishes! I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant, it felt like a true authentic hidden gem in the heart of Scottsdale. The Lasagna is a must have, we couldn’t get enough of the huge portion we were given. My personal favorite was the bucatini all'amatriciana, a delicious pasta with guanciale that was a special that evening. We shared a bunch of dishes and left with a lot of leftovers! I will be going back here soon.

We have been coming to the Blind Pig since moving into the neighborhood in 2016. It’s gone through at least 3 owners since we’ve been dining here, and the food now is the best. We have been for both dinner and brunch; we love that they’re open for brunch on the weekends! Their menu now is Italian inspired. We went again this weekend for brunch. The staff was welcoming, even greeted us at the door like we arrived at a friends house instead of a restaurant, and we didn’t have a long wait like the new brunch spot across the street. My husband got the burrito which was huge and flavorful. I got the avocado Toast with eggs and it was the perfect amount. The Italian dinner dishes there are authentic, fresh and delicious as well. It’s a great local spot! Oh and the patio is dog friendly, perfect when the weather is cooler (pic for proof!)
