First, I wasn't sure to review The Blind Pig or O'Malleys in the Alley, they are seemingly one in the same. But, according to the Yelp pictures, I think we sat in the Blind Pig part...maybe.
Stopped here after going to Duke Convention Center, saw O'Malleys had high Yelp reviews, and it was a nice day, so why not walk here? Upon walking in the entrance, no one addresses you & there is no sign as to what to do, maybe this is just one of those neighborhood places? We passed through into some seating along a wall by a bar and open wall to their outside patio, the pleasant breeze was the only positive about this place!
Don't come here if you are hungry, because you will leave hungry. I ordered the Cobb salad, and while the balsamic was decent, the chicken wasn't edible. They didn't even cook it, it was the super cheap already made chicken pieces from Aldi (or something extremely similar). The hard boiled egg wasn't even cooked correctly lol. My husband ordered the chicken tenders and fries, and while he said the fries were some of the best he's ever had, the chicken was so so. He also paid like $7 for a solo cup of beer.
The crowd was very....not my scene. There was a girl wearing a see thru dress...I could see everything. It was more of a college bro vibe, to look cool drinking pricy beer with sticky countertops.
I can see how this would be a desirable place before or after a game downtown, but it made McDonald's look gourmet. Two big thumbs down.
Oh, and I saw a sign hanging in the corner, saying this was the Friendliest Place of Earth...LOLOLOLOL. No one was friendly at all, much better service at Chick Fil A!
