The 38 Essential Orange County Restaurants

"Find a casual, hodgepodge menu at at the Blind Pig, which overlooks the Rancho Santa Margarita Lake. On the menu is gruyere-topped French onion soup and chicken karaage. The extensive whiskey selection pairs well with heartier dishes, like the wild boar albondigas, bacon cheddar cheeseburger, or braised beef shank tacos." - Jenn Tanaka

Came here for lunch and got the bacon wrapped dates ($13), artichoke dip ($12), short rib tacos ($22), and the BBQ chicken flatbread ($16). My favorite was the artichoke dip - it was super cheesy and yummy. The bacon wrapped dates were solid. I don’t like goat cheese, but the goat cheese wasn’t too overpowering, The sauce on top was a little too sweet. The BBQ chicken flatbread was pretty good, although the sauce was a little too sweet, and the chicken pieces were quite small. The short rib tacos were the most disappointing. The short ribs weren’t super tender and they lacked flavor. The tortilla did seem handmade, but it was too thick. Overall, the food was pretty good, but nothing exceptional. Ambiance is nice especially on the patio with the lake views.

The Blind Pig is a great spot by the lake. The food was good—flavorful, and satisfying. What really stood out was the excellent service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re in the area.

Just had a fantastic Happy Hour at The Blind Pig. Our cocktails, Salty Dog and an Old Fashioned, were delicious (and my husband is very selective about his Old Fashioneds) and beautifully crafted. We had french fries (perfectly done, garlic aioli was very nice and not over powering), Seared Ahi and Short Rib Tacos. All were delicious and beautifully presented. The HH menu has a great selection, the portions are well sized and well priced. The service is always outstanding, warm and welcoming. The Blind Pig is an RSM gem. So happy they are now open for lunch.

The man and I had been meaning to try this spot out and finally decided to give it a try. I will start off by saying if you are more than 15 minutes late your reservation is automatically cancelled. We arrived on time but because there were people in front of me our reservation was cancelled. They did their best to accommodate us (thank you) but luckily we found a spot at the bar. All the servers we encountered were very friendly and our bartender Artie was the absolute bestest. We started with the deviled egg appetizer which was fine (didn’t knock my socks off but still good) for dinner I had the caesar wedge salad and the man had the lobster roll. Both very tasty and huge. )next time we will have the burger because it looked delicious) for drinks I had the swashbuckler (very good) and he had an old fashioned (which was good). All in all we enjoyed ourselves, atmosphere was good and the staff friendly. Will try again.

Great whiskey selection and always a fun menu to choose from. What a fun place to hang with friends and just enjoy the moment. Beautiful views of you're lucky enough to be outside too!

We sat on the patio overlooking the lake which was wonderful. They have two outdoor dining areas with a variety of seating for small and larger parties. Our server, Jessica was so nice, friendly and efficient. They offer a variety of craft drinks so I skipped my usual wine and tried The Damn Good Margarita which was so good I had two! My son the bartender also enjoyed his Mezcal of Duty. We tried the short rib tacos and Hanger steak which were very good. Next time I'll skip the appetizer to save room for dessert!

Fantastic attention & service from our server. Very average food. Loud atmosphere.

This place is absolutely amazing! I went on a hot day, the staff did an amazing job at making sure everyone always had a good drink! Not just my table but everyone. My first impression wasn't too great as it seemed small. Most of the business seating was outdoor. This allowed for a great view of the lake! The owner kept walking around and checking up on people. Making it feel as if they actually cared about the people whom stepped into the restaurant. Now for the food. I went out on a limb and we ordered things we don't normally eat out due to being traumatized, as most restaurants I've gone to tend to mess it up. First: the scallops... they were absolutely perfect! Half of the 5 and/or 5 places over cook scallops. The sear gave them a nice golden, crunch to them (see photo) Second: the lamb. Perfect medium cooked! Juicy and well seasoned (not pictured) Third: short rib tacos. The only negative thing I can say is, the cilantro avocado salsa wasn't spicy at all. It had an amazing flavor though! Good enough to make you forget it wasn't spicy! Fourth: firecracker shrimp. It's shrimp, fried with sweet and spicy. Everything I ate that was, not only met my foodie expectations, but absolutely blew them away! Can't wait to go back for round 2! Awesome work to their crew!

Yelp
Had a fantastic dinner here and wanted to shout out how great the experience was from start to finish. I started off with their house Old Fashioned, and it was exactly what an Old Fashioned should be: one big ice cube, the right balance of bourbon/rye and bitters, and a proper cherry. I'd 100% order it again. My wife got the Moscow Mule, which was also spot on. I ended up switching to a Mule for my second round because their homemade ginger beer was next-level -- the flavor really stood out in the best way. We ordered the burger and the pastrami sandwich -- both were solid choices. The burger was cooked perfectly all the way through, evenly done and super flavorful. The pastrami? Easily one of the best I've had in a long time. It came with this honey mustard/horseradish-style sauce. Personally, it was a bit on the sweet side for me, but I still finished every bite -- definitely a creative and well-executed combo. For dessert, we split the skillet cookie, which totally gave us BJ's pizookie vibes -- but this version was the perfect size for two people to share after a meal. We were torn between that and the s'mores dessert, but we're glad we went with the cookie. If you're coming around sunset, a heads up: the sun hits hard off the lake, so bring sunglasses. But once it sets, the view is beautiful. Chill vibe, great area, and the people nearby were all super friendly. Also want to give a special shoutout to Tyler and Chris -- they really made the experience even better. Friendly, attentive, and clearly care about the place and the people in it. Highly recommend stopping by. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
First time at this restaurant - we made reservations for an 11am Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. Our server (who was very nice) said that since it was my birthday, I could pick one of their desserts and it would be on the house. We were surprised that when we ordered coffee, we were told they did not serve any coffee (especially since it was brunch). The food was okay but we really should have sent back both orders of breakfast potatoes as they were black and hard - definitely overcooked. The bacon was also overcooked. We waited a long time for the dessert so when it finally came, I just asked for it to go. Unfortunately, we discovered later that we had been charged $13.00 for the "free dessert". It was a nice restaurant but I don't think I will be going back. The menu was limited and the food was not excellent.

Yelp
The thai-style lemongrass meatballs are truly one the best things I have eaten and the best meatballs in my mouth. Crisp on the outside but juicy on the inside. Their food is seriously good and the Gen-Z chill but attentive service is also really fantastic and friendly. We ordered bottomless mimosas for brunch and they actually refilled our glasses (I've been to places where you have to flag someone for just the second). I recommend the hangar steak, with the yummy kimchi fried rice or the homemade, hand cut french fries with the creamy and seasoned au poivre sauce. You cannot go wrong either way! We did best of both worlds and got the au poivre potatoes with a side of the fried rice. Another fave is the deviled eggs and especially the bacon-wrapped dates. Their cocktails are also worth the visit alone! I am partial to the Golden Bear It's a great place when you want to enjoy the lake and dine alfresco and when you want good food. Extra brownie points for being dog friendly and offering a bowl of water!

Yelp
I guess my take on this restaurant is that it's worth a try. The location is great, right there on the lake. But overall, I was left feeling a little underwhelmed. In print, the menu, tiki drinks, and concept appeared to be really amazing, my hubby and I love tiki bars, so we were very excited to try it. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match the vision! The food, ambience, tiki drinks and mostly the service was just OK. To explain further, there were visible employees just standing around when we needed them, but would not make eye contact, one of the people behind the bar appeared to be a manager and all she did the entire time we were there was stand there and chat with the bartenders. Our server was friendly and helpful, but sometimes hard to catch. Inside, the restaurant decor is clean and nice, but its small and really tight. The tables are right up next to each other, so you can hear your neighbors full conversation. Also, the patio outside was small, it's right on the lake, but they have covers up with clear plastic windows, which barely allow you to see the beauty, I get the fact that it was winter, but the draw is the lake! Again, maybe it was just our experience this one time and perhaps we should try it again, but we both just really didn't feel like it lived up to expectations, so we're not sure we will.

Yelp
Fresh, flavorful food with a creative American-Mexican-Asian fusion twist. The cocktails were delicious and refreshing, and the lake view added a nice touch. Service was okay -- we were seated quickly, but the server didn't check in much. Worth a visit for the food and vibes!

Yelp
Got this mailer. Excited to try it out! Prices are going up everywhere and it's nice to have places make things more affordable.

Yelp
Craft cocktails and small plates are the go-to features of this gem by the lake . Outstanding hospitality , beautiful ambiance overlooking RSM lake. Bartender Miles was friendly and made the best margarita! This review made in connection with the Toast Promotion .

Yelp
Food was very good. Met up with family and sampled much from the menu. Everything was excellent Service was outstanding, very well taken care of. Seated outside for most of the evening, very comfortable the went inside to listen to music. Very happy with the whole experience. Thanks Blind Pig and staff.

Yelp
We were excited to try this restaurant since it has descent reviews but we were very disappointed and actually left the after they served our meals. Ordered appetizer, soup & main course. We barely started the appetizer then the main course came - before the soup. We asked the server and he said they just bring out the food when they're ready. The server even made a sarcastic comment about how beautiful the food looked. Had a taste of the soup and it wasn't even good. We decided to talk to the manager and left. She was very apologetic and even offered to wrap our food but no point in doing that. Bad service and food not so good. Definitely not going back.

Yelp
This is an absolute gorgeous restaurant with a lake view!! It's a HIDDEN GEM in Rancho Santa Margarita!! I wish I had known about this restaurant a long time ago! It was definitely a pleasant surprise!! As soon as I walked in, I was in awe and knew we were in for a wonderful dining experience. The outdoor area was very popular with the customers. There was a great view of the lake and the sunset. The front outdoor area has a view of the courtyard. Starters: Burrata with tomato jam, blueberry gastrique, pistachio tapenade, grilled sourdough. Absolutely delicious!! MUST-TRY! Coconut Shrimp with a sweet & spicy sauce and charred lemon Main: 20oz Ribeye with Kimchi Fried Rice, chojang and sesame oil. Perfectly cooked, juicy and tender! The Kimchi Fried Rice was so flavorful!! Stunning presentation! MUST-TRY!! Jidori Chicken Adobo with fingerling potatoes, pearl onions, soy-demi glaze, shaved fennel, white ice, garlic. The soy-demi glaze was very flavorful. The chicken was juicy. Lobster Roll with claw & knuckle meat, celery, shallot, garlic aioli, saurkraut, parsley, brioche bun. It's a little smaller than other Lobster Rolls I've had. Pan Seared Barramundi with a khao soi broth, green papaya, peanuts, cilantro, mint. That broth was packed with so much deliciousness! It tasted like a super flavorful Thai-style curry, just not as thick. The Barramundi had a firm texture and flaked apart easily. A wonderful balance of flavors! Drinks: Painkiller, Toucan Sam, Gild the Lily, Santa Margarita Spritz (some drinks can be made as a Mock-tail) These were so pretty and tasted great! Desserts: (MUST - TRY) Earl Grey Budino with a strawberry glaze, pistachios, whipped cream Skillet Cookie chocolate & macadamia nut cookie, condensed milk, vanilla ice cream The friendly Staff were very attentive. Our group had so much fun. Our dining experience exceeded my expectations! Can't wait to go back!! Add this to your list of girls night out or date night spots in the OC!!

Yelp
This was my first time at The Blind Pig. Our party of six were promptly seated with our reservation and we were taken care of by Jessica, a terrific server who guided us through the menu. We ordered bacon wrapped dates and Brussels sprouts for appys. Both were good but the dates were truly outstanding. For Mains we ordered Barramundi ( delicious), a chicken wrap, chicken with miso and risotto, French Onion Soup and short rib tacos. The only miss was the Chicken with Miso and risotto; it didn't seem to be well integrated as it felt like the ingredients were simply stacked upon each other and the chicken itself was bland and a little dry. Having said that, overall I really enjoyed the menu. Lastly we ordered Two desserts were a pumpkin cake and cookie, both with vanilla ice cream and both way too sweet for my taste but the rest of my party enjoyed them. The Blind Pig is worth a visit for its menu and service and I look forward to returning.

Yelp
Our server Gracie was awesome and the manager Tyler stopped by to check on us as well. Service was more than expected and so was the food. Great spot by the lake!

Yelp
Let's start with the welcome . The hostess at the door needs to smile and act like she likes her job. Then she sits us down and brings warm tap water to drink . Then walks away with her nasty rude attitude. Our server was very sweet . And the food was ok. I was a bit thrown off with the employees drinking shots at the bar and sitting around doing nothing . The cooks and the server were the only ones working which was pretty sad. They obviously enjoy their jobs and deserve to be employed. We won't be back . I hope the good workers find a better place to work. And your hostess is miss No personality . Cute high school girl with a ugly personality

Yelp
I really don't even know where to start, but we had a great experience here. We'd been years ago, but now we were impressed. From happy hours Tuesday thru Sunday, to wine and whiskey Wednesday's, to brunch: we can't wait to try them all. Nice ambiance, with a lake view, great service from Chris and Tyler, and a very attentive manager Brianna. To really well prepared salads and appetizers, to our favorite pastrami sandwich ever: the mustard/horseradish dipping sauce was wonderfully delicious. We never thought we'd find such a great environment so close to home. The was a great time.

Yelp
Always a great experience here! Bacon wrapped dates are yummy and the atmosphere is really nice on the lake. The waitress was super attentive ! We will be back.

Yelp
Chris, our server, was amazing, super friendly and attentive. The ambience was great. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The hanger steak was very chewy, and both the steak and burger were way too salty. Not what we expected.

Yelp
Oink Oink, It's The Blind Pig in Rancho Santa Margarita. This Kitchen and bar is cookin' up some elevated gastropub food that we couldn't ignore. It was a rainy day, but we decided to hit the restaurant up for some lunch! We opted to sit outside in the patio, but it was totally cool cuz they had warmers! Our friend ordered a couple of drinks, and she said they were lovely. Neither Josh nor I drink, but we both got the impression that you should do so here, hahaha. They've got a fun menu with a bunch of different items on it. After perusing it for a bit, we ordered a ton of dishes. Variety is the spice of life! French onion soup, crab cakes, pork belly benedict, mac and cheese, and a bleu cheese burger topped our table. The food came out super quick, and super hot! My my my...the French Onion soup was hot! And it was hot! If you know what I mean. Look at the melty melty cheese! LOOK! PERFECT. You know, honestly I forgot how good this stuff is. The burger too, I mean come on! Great bleu cheese flavor, and cooked to your liking, which is medium for me. I added some fries, and they did not disappoint! It came with this aioli that I thought was perfectly creamy and subtle. Mmm! The Benedict was unexpected! The sauce it came with is a salsa verde-type deal. So yummy and surprising! A great fresh addition to an otherwise super-rich dish. This decadent oaxacan cheese mac comes with crispy prosciutto and corn! A sweet and salty addition to a creamy dish? Reminds me of Korean corn cheese.

Yelp
We recently started going to the blind pig again. And each time, we enjoy the patio, service and drinks. We've even heard some live music, which was great. Last night was exactly what we were looking for. A nice evening walk, a couple of drinks, some apps that were delicious and a view of the lake while the sun went down. Just right.

Yelp
As usual, Yelpers have it right. Gorgeous view, good service and vibe. I would love to come back for happy hour and see how they pour. My dessert was satisfying for such a hot day but I had to melt the rock hard, pre-scooped ice cream with the warm cobbler. The mint was a refreshing touch but wanted it to meld with the other flavors (maybe a quick torch to the mint and cobbler crumble topping might do the trick?). Extra points for the choice, tart rhubarb which I personally love. Very pleased with our servers. Thank you.

Yelp
Their 20ounce ribeye was amazing!! Also love their drinks but miss a couple- holla back girl and gossip girl

Yelp
Great location by the lake and ambiance on the patio! We loved the Brussels sprouts and their drinks are great. Ask the bartender to make you a surprise cocktail and you won't be disappointed. We also enjoyed the lobster roll, summer squash pasta, and the cookie skillet!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here for dinner Saturday night. I think this is probably a better place for cocktails than meals, at least for my taste. I had the lobster roll and husband had the steak. His meat was very chewy and my lobster roll was fine but I've had much better. The spinach and artichoke dip was the best thing we ate, that item was definitely a hit. Location is in a nice plaza with a large parking lot and pretty since it's near the water. We won't be back but for people who live in the area, I would recommend it for drinks and apps.
google avatar

Diana T.

Yelp
Out for a drive in this area. Noticed a lake and The Blind Pig is overlooking it. So pretty. Seated immediately . Sat on the high top table. I ordered the Orange Chicken Wrap and seasoned fries. My guest had the Pastrami Dip Sandwich. Delicious fresh food. The wrap was full of delicious spicy chicken with crunchy carrots. Lots of pastrami in the sandwich too. The view is wonderful. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely worth a trip

Sean B.

Yelp
The service is very poor, food is okay overpriced, I would never recommend this restraunt. Every time I have visited it's empty. Please save your money.

Yelp
We come here often and could be concerned regulars. We love the cocktails and the food is delicious. The menu rotates often and is seasonal. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They have two patios, one on the lake and the other by the fountain. Indoor is cute with TVs and live music. They have a great happy hour. Parking can be difficult just due to how popular everything is in the plaza. Services is always really great. One of our favorites spots in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Cathy L.

Yelp
$7 happy hour fries $5 add on for fries with a burger $10 for side order of fries Only knocked down one star because the serving size for their fries does not equal to the price you pay. Overall, though, we had a great time here at The Blind Pig. Jessica was our original server. She was very friendly, and attentive. Then, later in the night, our table was changed over to Vinny, who was just as friendly and attentive. For Food, we order a few off the happy hour menu -- fries, Brussels sprouts, and deviled eggs. For entrees, I got the sisig with white rice and my wife got the scallops. Fries were just alright, there was something off about them in terms of crispness but they hit the spot. Deviled Eggs, we chowed them down. Brussels, my wife enjoyed them. I am not a fan of Brussels so lol Entrees -- we were satisfied with it. Sisig came out HOT, loved it. My wife said she liked her scallops but the sauce threw her off a bit. I didn't mind it when I tried. Drinks were so good. We ordered two rounds -- I had one of their tiki drinks and a You Sank My Battleship. I love craft cocktails so these were very good. I'm interested to see what else they can make. Their craft cocktails were all very interesting; can't wait to try more. Overall, my experience here was fantastic. Interested in coming here for "kill the keg" night or Tiki/Taco Tuesdays! Sounds like fun! Thank you for being awesome!

Yelp
BEWARE! DANGEROUS INDIVIDUALS AND THEFT!! Drinks are good, however, they have a regular who steals from other customers. My phone was stolen by this regular, the staff all know who he is. Apparently the money he brings in is more important than their other patrons because not only have they not followed up on this issue, they now hang up when I try to contact as they have caller ID. Manager Sam was aware of the situation and did nothing. Despite the protests of myself and others. Luckily my property was ditched elsewhere and was returned by the lovely patrons of that establishment. Spoke to Robert who said all the right things to make this go away. But no follow up from the GM and owner, which was promised. Should have called the cops, but I stupidly trusted the employees. THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE FOR SINGLE WOMEN IN PARTICULAR!!!! BE SAFE! STAY AWAY!!!! ETA: I never intended to actually post this. I originally wanted to due to the anger and betrayal I felt, but left it in my drafts. It appears while going through old info, i accidentally posted. Since Tony now feels so inclined to respond, since it's available for the public, let me add the below: 1. Tony, you never once spoke to me personally. Despite the multitude of promises from your various managers. 2. HE NEVER EMPTIED HIS POCKETS!! And, was never asked to. My husband pointed out that your regular had his phone in his hand the whole time, yet every time my husband called my phone, the thief's pocket lit up and he quickly silenced my phone. 3. Despite witnessing this, your manager allowed it to happen and stated that there was "nothing he could do about it". 4. Yes, you allowed my husband to conduct a fruitless search through the trash and the bar once it was too late. As we all know where my phone was. In your regulars pocket. 5. My phone was not randomly found as you claim. A family member called, at which time an employee at the gas station answered and provided the help your establishment refused. Why did he have my phone you may ask? Simple. He very, very, clearly explained how it had been randomly dropped off by some guy. When asked for a description, he described your regular to a T. Including how he communicates with people, explaining why the thief's personal phone is always in his hand, not his pocket. 6. You state you take your patrons safety as a number one priority. Yet I see no statement confirming he has been banned from your bar. Which your managers stated had been put in place. So Tony. Why did no one make him remove the phone from his pocket? Why did your team avoid involving the police to solve this matter? And why, is this super important regular who spends a lot of money at your bar (per various statements that evening), still apparently a regular? Why have you misled those who read this into thinking that we spoke personally when that never once happened?

Yelp
We just returned from The Blind Pig. As always, the food was delicious and the service was great. My reason for the two stars is the management. There was a couple having dinner but they brought along an un-trained dog. This dog barked at every other well behaved dog that walked by. It was very annoying. The management did nothing. Now we love dogs and there were other well behaved dogs sitting quietly with their owners. Not so sure if we return. There are many other options.....

Yelp
I loved that this place had hard Kombucha on tap! Also, their Happy Hour was even available on the weekend which was right up our alley.

Yelp
I am still daydreaming about my delicious meal from The Blind Pig and it's been a little bit since i was there - i CANNOT wait to go back!! We started with the Bacon Wrapped dates which i was ecstatic about because they had goat cheese inside (about the only type of dairy i can eat!), the bacon was perfectly crispy and the balsamic reduction wasn't too overpowering! Next i got a scallop dish that i seriously died and went to heaven over the sauce was delicious, it had different veggies on it and the scallops were seared so well! I also accompanied my dish with the kimchi fried rice - the rice had a little crispness and the kimchi added great saltiness and slight sour that was complimentary to the egg and onion! Honestly i could not rave about the food at the Blind Pig Enough. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and helpful with questions and the decor was cute it felt upscale but approachable! I'll be back as soon as possible!!

Yelp
First timers, came on a blustery cold night and were seated outside - it was freezing, even with the heater that kept turning off and on. Happy they had the rotating zodiac hazy from Chapman on tap, and they also had a wide variety of cocktails to choose from. I was a bit disappointed with my jidori chicken adobo- for some reason I had anticipated the onions would be cooked and not raw. My acid reflux cannot handle too much raw onion! Disappointment aside the chicken was flavorful and cooked well- just wish the wind hadn't quickly cooled it! Will need to come back and sit inside, it looked quite cozy when I went through to use the restroom.

Yelp
Specifically came here for the French Onion Soup. Was also interested since pup friendly but wanted to try it out before bringing the dog. Chilly gray day so chose inside. Bar front is festive and has personality. The inside is warm, modern lighting and bench seating is comfy. Service (Lexie M) was impeccable from initial greeting to check out. Upbeat sound track that is noticeable but not so loud it drowns you out. The soup... Delicious and the best I've had since visiting my beloved East Coast. They get it at Blind Pig; excellent caramelized cheese and the bread/onion/broth had an excellent ratio and taste. It's a winner and got takeout for those still at home babysitting the pup! That great! We will be back to try their smaller menu which looks yummy.

Yelp
I don't recommend coming here for dinner bc most of their food kind of caters for brunch. My boyfriend got the skirt steak with kimchi rice and I had the lobster roll. My first bite of the lobster tasted so fishy and I couldn't even finish the whole thing bc it was so bad. The location was great and their espresso martinis were pretty good. That's about it. The waitress that served us was nice, so there's that.
google avatar

Yelp
I had the lobster roll with fries. Food was great, service was great, view was great! Menu didn't have a ton of selections for food but they have a good bar selection.

Yelp
Summary: Super Bowl Sunday means reduced menu and no bottomless mimosas (and no advanced notice). Service is solid, location is nice (though parking is tricky with most of the lot's perimeter being temporary parking). Food is so-so and overpriced. Disappointing first experience. My wife and I made reservations for Super Bowl Sunday lunch to celebrate her birthday and my mom's. We were super excited by the premise of bottomless mimosas and the standard menu indicated on the website (since this was our first visit). When we arrived, we were really bummed to find out that 1) there was a special, limited menu (not mentioned anywhere on the website or from the restaurant via our Yelp reservation), and 2) no bottomless mimosas. Had we known these were the case, we would have booked elsewhere and saved our first visit for another day to experience the fullness of what The Blind Pig has to offer. That said, we decided to give it a shot and overall were not super impressed. Painkiller #2 and Bahama Mama - If you are a sucker for tiki drinks like my wife and I, you should be pretty satisfied with the offerings. Tropical and traditional with great flavor and ingredients. Edamame - Swimming in a sweet and spicy (though not spicy at all) sauce, these are a very non-traditional rendition of a classic app that didn't really impress us. Deviled eggs - Good, but not amazing. Nothing to complain about. Chicken Skineidi - Advertised as being quite impressive by our server, but genuinely not good in execution. This is their classic kagura chicken dish served on skewers, but the toughness of the over-fried chicken, the overly sour lemon drizzle, and the lack of savory flavor led us to return the dish entirely. Cheesy corn - This was actually really good, albeit small. A skillet of hot queso and corn topped with pieces of crispy bacon created a cheesy, smoky, delicious combination. Kudos on this clever twist of a classic mac 'n cheese. Shrimp tacos - Good, but not amazing, and hard to justify at $18 for two. Dessert cookie - Complimentary for the birthday ladies, this was pretty tasty and pizookie-like. A solid way to complete the meal. Our server, Maddie (apologies if misspelled), was solidly attentive throughout the meal. She was also very understanding when we asked to return the chicken item. The total bill before tip came to $104, and we were sufficiently full but certainly not stuffed or in need of to-go containers. In general, we really hope that management notifies folks in SOME manner whenever they will be doing a special reduced menu (like they did in advertising the Valentine's Day menu), and in the case of Super Bowl (which started at 3:30pm), if folks arrived a few hours in advance with no intention of staying for the game, it would be nice to enjoy the regular menu until it gets closer, then pivot to more of the game-day shareables that are probably easier on the kitchen. Just a suggestion.

Yelp
So happy to have found this place! We were browsing the area for a Fridate & we definitely made the right choice. We got seated in the patio & mother nature also graced us with an amazing sunset over the lake. I mean, it was sheer perfection. Seasonal menu - so it changes all the time. We decided to try some items from the shareables. The sisig with egg (add rice) was amazing. Great flavor with a little kick. Little bit of rice, egg, & sisig makes the perfect bite. The fries are so good! Crisp yet soft & seasoned generously. Rockefeller oysters are delicious and very filling. The mushroom saltado is also a favorite - a little on the saltier side but so good! That soft boiled egg is also a winner. We added the chicken karaage & did not expect how big this serving was. Topped with blistered shishito peppers and a wasabi aioli, I would get this again. Couldn't skip dessert and got their carrot cake. Yum. Great food! Great selection of beverages, alcoholic & non. Bailey took care of us and helped us decide on what to order. She's the best! We had a great dining experience, delicious food, great views, amazing service... we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Went to the Blind Pig for brunch today and it was so good! We tried the Avocado Toast and the Croque Madame and both were very tasty. The waitstaff was super friendly and helpful and we had a really great time.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience ! Had to come back after coming in I came in December when the lake had its Christmas tree lightening. I can't and have stopped talking about the bacon covered stuffed dates and how the food was hot and fresh in everything that was ordered. Yesterday I came in with someone who hasn't experienced and lives near the one in yorba linda. With the experience, atmosphere and delicious food he's making sure to attend his local. Miles our server was the absolute best!!! I mean just down right genuine! He was able to catch on with our humor and laugh. When you have employees like this it just makes experience being there and the people your with so much better. We also asked for his opinion on selections for our meal. Instead of saying "I don't know" he was able to pick something from each section in what he enjoys but also what other customers truly enjoy. Having this knowledge and able to share just puts a little more confidence in what you are choosing. I split the pastrami dip sandwich with my friend and we both found it down right delicious. the pickles on that amazing. The dipping sauce was amazing too and I couldn't decide to dip or not. My husband got the chipotle sandwich which was amazing especially the sauce. With that I will definitely be back-hopefully to get pictures next time- but also will be checking for miles to be our guy if he's working!

Yelp
Came here in a group of seven with friends this past weekend and the service was terrible. We came in around 4 so they weren't busy and there were waiters and waitresses standing around talking. Our waitress seemed to be talking to her friends and did not ask us if wanted new drinks or any food. I asked her for a water that she forgot to bring. She was also nowhere to be found I had to get up and ask another waitress for help. Also, the air conditioning must of been not working well. It was so hot inside when we asked the lady made a snarky comment. My family comes here often and I had said such good things about this place to my friends but this time it did not live up to its usual standards. Don't think I'll be back due to their terrible service. We left and had dinner across the way at Carmelita's

Yelp
My friend and I came here on a Saturday around 12:30PM. It wasn't too crowded and we were seated fairly quickly with both indoor and outdoor seating options. We chose outdoor due to the view of the lake. They offer heaters and fans appropriate for any type of weather. The Fall 2022 menu had some great options but I ordered the Pork Belly Benedict and my friend had the Grilled Tenderloin Tacos. The Pork Belly Benedict was delicious and I cannot wait to take others to come try it for as long as it's still available. I had to ask the waitress (Shaela) what kind of bun was used and she was so kind to find out for me. They made it with a English muffin but in a way that it seems more like a rounded bun and stayed crispy the whole time I was enjoying my meal. My friend thought the Grilled Tenderloin Tacos were good. The flavor variety was good but she did hope for more filling for the tacos. For dessert, we ordered the skillet cookie. We cleaned the skillet! The lavender flavor wasn't too obvious on the ice cream but the honey did stand out. Overall great but the skillet was hot as it was fresh from the oven-- I would be careful if sharing with children as both my friend and I did accidentally hit the skillet a few times... maybe worth the slight pain because that cookie was great haha.

Yelp
Food is good but selection is limited. We went for dinner and was presented with a dinner menu which i find limited. There are pictures in their website which are obsolete and no longer available so it would be good to update their site. Overall ok.

Yelp
Service is good, view is beautiful but we were disappointed with the lunch menu. Most of the food you see in the pics here are not available for lunch. Not much kid friendly and most foods are too spicy.

Yelp
Came here for Happy Hour and enjoyed appetizers that were a few dollars off as well as cocktails for a small discount. The Moscow mule was served just right and I enjoyed it so much I had 2. The bass filet which I had for dinner was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and very good. Wasn't a huge fan of the edamame, but i did love the basket of French fries. Server was very nice and attentive and the atmosphere was the best part with plenty of space and a gorgeous lake view. 5 out of 5 experience.

Yelp
Great cocktails and pretty good food. Theres not a ton of food options but the food is consistently good and for that, I will continue to return. The reason for the 4 star is some drinks that should be easily prepared and thrive do not. One in particular, is one of my favorite weekend drinks, the Bloody Mary. It was so thick of tomato juice that's all you can taste, I couldn't even drink it unfortunately and sent it back. The ketchup they serve with dishes is also a bit off and tastes like it's mixed with vinegar. Simple things are made too complicated. All in all, we will continue to come and support this local business. Blind pig is a great place to come enjoy a cocktail and some good food and enjoy the RSM lake.

Yelp
Always fun to go to the Blind Pig! Live music and the location on the lake is always great! Food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
First time coming here and was greeted by a blonde hostess who was not the most welcoming. We had to actually ask for a table she never even said anything to us. It was a bit awkward. But nonetheless after that we managed to get sat with an great server who definitely made up for the unprofessional hostess. Our server was on top of it. Checked on us numerous times throughout our dinner, had great recommendations and seemed like a very nice girl! The food was average. I think I should have tried something else on the menu. The burger was pretty basic. And for almost $25. I don't think it fit the price tag. The drinks were very tasty! I wouldn't say they pack a punch. I had three and felt not even the slightest buzz. But I still appreciate a well made and presented cocktail. Overall, it was a great experience despite the hostess. I love their outdoor patio and would love to come here for a brunch! Very cool spot!
