Stepping into The Block in St. Louis Park instantly puts you in a great mood--the ambiance is vibrant yet cozy, with modern rustic decor, warm lighting, and an energetic buzz that makes it perfect for any occasion. The indoor space feels welcoming and trendy, but the real highlight is the year-round dog-friendly Pawtio with its heated pergola--it's incredible how they've made outdoor dining comfortable even in Minnesota winters, complete with a special menu for pups that adds such a fun, community vibe.
The food options are outstanding and incredibly diverse, catering to everyone without compromising on quality or flavor. Their famous broasted chicken is a must-try: crispy on the outside, unbelievably juicy inside, and seasoned to perfection--it's elevated comfort food at its best. I devoured the honey pecan chicken salad, loaded with fresh greens, apples, strawberries, grapes, and that irresistible honey mustard drizzle; it's light yet satisfying with generous portions.
Burgers are next-level--juicy patties on pretzel buns with creative toppings like bacon, BBQ, and onion strings that add the perfect crunch. The rice bowls are fresh and customizable, like the ahi tuna poke with sushi-grade fish, avocado, edamame, and coconut rice that's vibrant and healthy without feeling boring. They shine with vegan and gluten-free choices too, like the plant-based burger with vegan mozzarella and avocado spread that even meat-lovers rave about.
Brunch is a weekend highlight: fluffy buttermilk pancakes topped with fresh berries, or inventive dishes like mini pancake tacos stuffed with eggs, bacon, and hash browns--pure indulgence washed down with boozy shakes or craft cocktails from their 36 taps. Sides like the totchos (tater tot nachos) are addictive shareables that disappear fast.
Service is always friendly and attentive, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Portions are hearty, prices fair for the quality, and the overall experience leaves you full, happy, and eager to return--whether for a casual lunch, happy hour, or dinner with friends (and furry ones). The Block nails elevated bar food in a fantastic setting; it's become my favorite spot in St. Louis Park!
