The Newest Restaurants In Chicago

"Named after a giant sinkhole off the coast of Belize, The Bloohol is a family-owned-and-operated Belizean restaurant in Austin. Their short menu currently has three dinner packages—oxtail, jerk chicken, and stew chicken, with multiple sides—and a la carte offerings like jerk wings and mac and cheese. Today I'm going to go write a note asking them to "PLEASE CALL ME WHEN YOU ARE OPEN" and post it on their window. I have been trying to patronize this business for the last two weeks and they have not been open on any day during their stated business hours. I tried to go to lunch last Wednesday 10/8, they weren't open so I called. After the 4th try, someone finally answered and said they would be open Saturday 10/11-- I went by Saturday and sadly they were not open. This week I decided to call before driving there. I have literally called the phone number every single day this week and there was no answer. I really do not want to bash this business, I am just writing in hopes that the business owners will contact me because I REALLY want to try this restaurant. My best friend was Belizean and I haven't had any good food since she left. When will you be open consistently?? I've never has this much trouble trying to support a business. I don't want to go to Rogers Park for Belizean food.

Ordered 2 bags through “Too Good To Go” because I wanted to try a new place. The owner Felicia is soooooo sweet! I love her personality. Great customer service 10/10. She even gave me a sample of oxtail which I gave to my mom and she liked it. I received 2 plates of stewed chicken which I gave one to my sister. We both loved it. I had the food out with me for 4hrs before I got home and airfried it to warm it. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and well seasoned. The rice and peas were delicious as well. I will be back!

I visited the Blōōhol and the food was spectacular. If you’re looking for island Caribbean cuisine drop by the Blōōhol. I had the Stew chicken meal with potato salad and rice. The portion was large and fulfilling. This was my first time having Belizian food and everything was on point. The vibe was definitely fitting for the atmosphere. Don’t miss out! When you’re on the west side drop in and get you some you won’t be disappointed.

The owner/chef Roderick is both talented and very kind! If you have never had Belizian potato salad, you are in for a treat! The food tastes incredibly fresh, flavorful and homemade. You can taste the love. 10/10

Absolutely unprofessional. I placed an order for pickup pn ‘Too Good To Go’ between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. and arrived at 4:30 to find the doors padlocked. Someone was clearly inside, sitting on the couch, yet when I showed my phone to indicate I had a pickup order, she just shrugged. No effort, no explanation, no basic courtesy. This level of disregard for customers is exactly why I avoid hole-in-the-wall businesses. I won’t be returning, and I definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

First of the food mi the come! The food mi good. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the service was real good. Definitely will be back. My only recommendation would be to paint the outside black to add to the sleek look it has inside!

10/10 10/10 10/10 The service was beautiful, the food was immaculate and the vibe was everything. I’m already looking forward to the next time we get to experience the taste of Belize! We ordered the stew chicken, fried fish, Mac and Cheese, stew peas. We also ordered a delicious drink and they gave us a shot of margarita ( it’s so strong you only need one) Ahhh our bellies and hearts are full right now as we sit in the car too hyped to pull off. We will most definitely be back and back soon!

Yelp
This place is truly amazing! I had an order to go and didn't even make it home because the smell was ahamazng! I ate in the car right infront of the place. I'm a bit of a rice snob to the point i will only eat rice made by certain family members and honestly rarely will eat restaurant rice but THIS RICE AND BEAN combo literally the best rice I've ever had (sorry mom) the chicken was so tender and packed with flavor! This will be my new go to
