How to Celebrate Halloween in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"I'm heading to The Blue Dog to kick off the holiday weekend with a Friday night three-band show followed by an open jam — come costumed, bring your instruments, and have a beer; tickets are sold at the door for $5 so I plan to arrive early." - Yara El-Soueidi

Decent little restaurant at the Boca Town Center mall. Gets louder as the night goes on. But if you're looking for a decent happy hour with eateries type vibe, this suits it. Service was great, food was okay. Had a burrata dish with added chicken (without chicken, it would have been blah). My friend ordered calamari and a burger, which was mid... the drinks were better than the food but it wasn't by much. The waitress was very nice (Sienna).

“The evening was unforgettable. Pablo Gil, together with an ensemble of outstanding musicians, delivered a soulful jazz performance that left the audience enchanted. This is truly a show not to be missed.” These is a must go place!

I was attending the show of two tribute bands Fast Fashion(Depeche mode)and Burn(The Cure)on Friday night and had an amazing experience .Excellent performance!Service was not the greatest as it took the waiter more than half an hour to get me a drink not to mention the food. However, the place was packed so I think that might have been the reason for not getting the best service.

Exceptional Experience, Thanks to Jamie! We had a truly wonderful time at Blue Dog last night! The food and drinks were fantastic, but what truly elevated our evening was the service we received from our bartender/server, Jamie. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and drink specials. Jamie made us feel welcome and checked on us just the right amount, ensuring our glasses were never empty and everything was to our liking. She handled our order efficiently and with a great, positive attitude. It's rare to find someone who excels equally as a bartender and a server, and Jamie is a true professional. She definitely made our visit memorable! If you're dining here, we highly recommend asking for Jamie's section (or sitting at the bar when she's working). Thank you, Jamie, for your outstanding service! We will absolutely be back.

This is a great place for a nice dinner and some great drinks. Everything we tried was on point and very good. The setting is great and they even have a fire dancer which was pretty awesome. We got the Tuna Tartare and the bone marrow crab cake for an appetizer and the presentation blew my mind. They were also packed with flavor and I would definitely order again. We also tried some of the new sushi they launched a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. We got the Salmon avocado bone marrow, crispy shrimp, and the lobster tempura rolls and they all had amazing flavor. I also typically don’t order shrimp but the crispy shrimp roll was great. I also tried the filet which I ordered Pittsburgh style and the chef nailed it. The temperature and crust was perfect and you usually don’t get that at a lot of restaurants. For dessert we had the cream brûlée and the cafe con leche. Both were amazing but the cafe con leche is on another level. Overall I was very happy with this place and the service and I can honestly say I would come back. We just might have to check out their brunch next.

My review is meant to be constructive, because I see potential. My friends and I went to their event with Cynthia. For an event like this, they should have removed tables to allow for room to dance . There’s only 1 bar and seats preventing us from ordering because people are sitting there and won’t move. Again, for an event you should remove the bar stools to allow room and ability to order a drink. A nice gentleman gave up his seat to let us order, we waited over an hour to get a drinks. There was maybe 5 bartenders but they were only serving the ends of the bar and completely ignored us. Several other customers told the bartenders we had been waiting and it fell on ear. When someone finally took our order which was simple, 4, glasses of wine. She only gave us 2 and walked off and didn’t look back. We waited another 10 mins to get the rest of our order. Totally unacceptable… the amount of revenue loss opportunities is astounding. We left after Cynthia’s set due to the poor service! We would have stayed otherwise.

I had such a wonderful experience at The Blue Dog! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the menu and the service. Everything came out perfectly timed, and the staff was attentive without being intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a casual meal or celebrate a special occasion. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend The Blue Dog to anyone looking for great food and great vibes!

Everything we ordered was so delicious… the service was great! The bartender; Jaime went above and beyond to assist the server making our experience even more enjoyable…. He outfitted was so festive, it went with the music… NO COMPLAINTS

Yelp
It was an impromptu visit and it turned out to be an excellent choice. It's located at the Town Center mall in Boca. We stopped in for dinner and got seated right away. We shared the margherita flatbread for an appetizer. It is topped with tomatoes, basil, parmesan, and mozzarella cheeses. I got the braised short ribs, which came with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. Of course, we didn't leave without sharing a dessert and we went with the cafe con leche cheesecake. It has an Oreo base with a vanilla coffee cheesecake topped with whipped cream. Everything was cooked perfectly and it was very delicious! Our waitress was very sweet and the service was excellent. It started getting crowded as we were leaving on a Saturday evening, so we're glad we went an earlier time of 6. I wouldn't mind going back and trying more of their menu items.

Yelp
Last night 3 friends and myself arrived at this restaurant for happy hour to be followed by dinner To begin with, the item that I have had previously was not available, unfortunately we were told by the manager that they will no longer be carrying this item ( the bartender had told us they were out of it for three days) There were two types of Pinot Noir on the happy our menu, both of which they did not have. I had to choose another type, which was not on happy hour and I was not charged a happy hour price although I only chose that because they were out of the two happy hour wines. Our bartender was wonderful. She was efficient, friendly, respectful and very attentive to us. We then moved to a table for dinner The restaurant was pretty empty, maybe four other tables besides ours, although the entire menu was 50% off We asked for water it took quite a while One of us ordered a drink, that too, took quite a while till it came to the table We all ordered, two of us, hot dishes, two of us cold. After waiting quite some time the server brought over the two hot dishes The two cold dishes were not brought out until our friends were almost finished with their dinner One of us had a meat dish that was overcooked and it was replaced. Her meal was replaced, and yet the two cold dishes were still not brought out The manager came over and apologized but still, our food did not come out The manager and the waiter were told that one of the diners did not want her dinner at this point. We were there to eat together, not to eat when two people were served and completed dinner. Eventually, the cold dishes came out , even the one that was not supposed to. It was sent back. There were no apologies by the manager for the situation. The server on the other hand was very apologetic, although there really was nothing that he could've done. A roasted vegetable side dish was ordered by one of the women who had also ordered a cold dish Although the main meal did not come out, the warm $5.00 side dish, did and it was eaten When we arrived at the table, we told the server that we would like separate checks if possible, and he obliged Unfortunately, no one in the restaurant knew how to take our bill and make for separate checks. The server did not know how to run our checks, nor did the bartender nor did the manager. So once again we had to wait for quite a while to get our bills. The person who ordered the $5.00 side dish was charged for it, although she declined her food when it was finally delivered as all of her friends had completed their meals. As a point of reference the two cold meals were one sushi roll for each of the two. We had no apology by the manager. And according to my friends, the food wasn't really very good. As far as returning to this restaurant, I would possibly return for a happy hour drink at the bar, but never to sit at a table and have dinner We were all terribly disappointed!!!!

Yelp
Blue Dog Grill House has a sleek interior with plenty of booths and a nice book-lined front. Ample bar area. Staff was pleasant and attentive. I ordered the butternut squash kale salad and added grilled shrimp (3 shrimp added). Tasty, but at over $30 for a smallish salad (without a drink), the portion felt a little light for the price. Nice atmosphere, but the value could be better. 3% fee is added if using a credit card. Parking is available in the lot in front of the restaurant. This is on Rest of looking to use your AmEx.

Yelp
Ate here a few years ago and had a disappointing experience so wanted to try again as I heard changes were made in the menu and management. Decor is quaint, friendly hostess, and the ambient electronic music was pretty solid. Varied menu and interesting cocktails, even though I wasn't drinking. Unfortunately no server came by for 10 plus minutes and the place was 25% full. I had to ask for water and the calamari from the manager. He didn't seem that friendly and I thought our server would've raced over-- nope! When he did come he was friendly and his attentiveness improved. Calamari was half tender and half chewy. My shrimp burger was pretty good - however the bun fell apart. When the check came, I had a promo code for a discount and the server took my phone to show the manager. I shouldn't have given it as it was an invasion of privacy and unprofessional to take a customer's phone. He had it for an inordinate amount of time. I asked for it back, and the other manager needed it again as he couldn't get the code to work. This time I said "write it down, I'm not giving you my phone". Not being able to apply a code I received, not apologizing or comping a drink for a delayed service and taking my phone - all 3 gigantic no-nos. I might come back and sit at the bar for cocktails and starters, or happy hour, as the bar was cool and the music was decent, but don't think I'll be returning for dinner.

Yelp
I think there a new owners... Terrible service, food wasn't hot, the bathrooms are ALWAYS a mess. It was fine before, but now it's really not worth going to...

Yelp
After a visit to the mall, we decided to stop here for a quick drink, before we kept running errands. The place is very nicely decorated, and loved the bar so we sat there. Immediately were told they had bottomless mimosas for $20 (it was Sunday) so I took advantage of that. They didn't even make me buy a meal. The bartender said she made a really good Key Lime martini, and my BF ordered it. If those were bottomless, they would be SO dangerous. Not too sweet, fun, and very FL summer vibe. She kept coming back to refill my mimosa, and everyone else's drinks, while making conversation with all. Since we spent a bit more time than planned there, we ordered their salmon crispy rice appetizer and it was great! Perfect for sharing, and hold us of for the rest of the day. Definitely a spot we'll be visiting again.

Yelp
Stopped by on Tuesday for happy hour with a friend. The manager brought over my bill , thankfully I reviewed it , she charged me $39.53 instead of $11.96. I brought it to her attention, so she corrected it to be $35.88. I complained, and she said she made a mistake, and I should not visit this establishment again. I asked for my bill & said I will pay cash for it, paid & left. Please verify your bill before signing!!!!

Yelp
Finally got a chance to try this spot at the Boca Mall. We have stopped into different spots at the mall for a beverage after shopping before, on all sides of the mall, but hadn't been into the Blue Dog Cookhouse and Bar. We had been wandering the mall for a bit so grabbing a spot at their bar was quite nice. There was a nice guy there that was quick to makes our drinks. I got a rum drink, martini style. I believe it was encrusted with graham cracker. It really was a tasty beverage. I didn't circle back though. There was another drink, rum based that had blue curacao. It was also a fun flavor. We both enjoyed the drinks. There was a team of bartenders, and it was nice to see they worked together for better customer service. I think all 3 actually helped us at different times. We go to the gym nearby in the mall almost daily, so I'm pretty sure we will be back soon for a post workout hang.

Yelp
Food is great, service is wonderful, prices are high, ambiance is lively and loud. Blue Dog is conveniently located in Town Center Mall with a door leading in from the outside and a small side door tucked away like a speakeasy leading in from inside the mall. As you enter, it's like transporting to the era of the Great Gatsby with the decor and mood lighting. There's a beautiful bar area and big dining room with plushy booth spaces. The menu has a wide variety of different options suitable for all palettes. We started with garlic butter wine mussels as an appetizer. Big potion, pretty fresh mussels and medium seasoning which is great for me. The server was kind enough to keep the dish in the kitchen to keep it hot as I had to run out for a bit. Then we had the lamb tagliatelle which was so tender and braised very nicely with sauteed peppers and shiitake mushroom. Delicious and a hefty portion. My husband had the EMPIRE STATE OF MIND burger and it was gigantic. I had to try as well and the 2 panko crusted beef patties were very juicy paired with the boozy cheese + applewood bacon, it was delightful. They put an entire half grilled avocado piece on top. Will come back for more soon.

Yelp
Let me start by saying our server Kenny was amazing. He was very attentive and made sure we were satisfied. They honored our reservation as soon as we walked in, we were seated. The lighting was dim and they played great music. The food was well priced for the portioned, even good the kids meal.

Yelp
I was here a few weeks ago for the I want my 80s back event. The event was on a Friday from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.. as we walked up we could see how very busy it was at the bar and in the restaurant. Thank goodness we had reservations and sat outside. The atmosphere was upbeat and fun. We ordered a couple of drinks and had a few sushi rolls and the calamari. I really enjoyed the sushi. The drinks were good but not very for the price. I'm glad we sat outside because going inside to try and dance the music it was very hot and crowded. They really do not have much of a dance floor very small and you are on top of each other which was uncomfortable. Otherwise it was a fun night and the sushi was delicious.

Yelp
We came to see our good friends the Bobby Nathan band Our food came out quickly and hot and cooked as we asked Our server took our drink order which was generous pour The place is packed with lots of fun looking people who are ready to dance

Yelp
This place is such a hidden gem. The staff was so friendly and engaging! Our sever was Leandro (?) he's from Brazil and was sooooo nice, thoughtful and attentive! The holiday decorations were such a nice touch! We loved the food! The menu was large and had different types of cuisine. Our least favorite dish was the calamari, they were kinda chewy and weren't crispy. But the lasagne, truffle fries , sushi and crème brûlée were phenomenal! We will be back for sure!

Yelp
I made a reservation for Easter Sunday brunch because they had advertised an Easter event. They said with the admission you would receive a free bubbly. When i asked the waiter about it he didn't know about the event. He asked the manager and he also wasn't aware of such event. I then looked up the actual flyer from the restaurant promoting this, showed it to the waiter and he said "Ok i will tell the manager" and never brought it up again. It wasn't even about the free glass of champagne, it was the fact that no one knew about the event THE ACTUAL restaurant promoted and even after showing proof they didn't care to grant us the drink. My steak was very dry- even though i asked for medium temperature, and just the whole ambiance was so off. What a disappointment especially on a holiday!

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was OK. My drink didn't get delivered until after we finished eating so I sent it back. The ambience is cute there was a live DJ and a dancer.

Yelp
So disappointed with this place. I have been here in the past for lunch and it was good. The food was bland and what killed it was the customer service. The place was nearly empty yet our server was no where in site. Place is beautiful and the music was the right volume and upbeat. The drink my husband had was also a disappointment. The old fashioned was watered down. The value for the money is not worth it. I wanted to like it again, but it felt flat.

Yelp
I had the most amazing experience at this restaurant, we sat at the bar after a work meeting and meet the most amazing bartender, he was definitely a master mixologist from NY and for the life of me I can't recall his name bc the drinks were so yummy they left me in a fog! He made drinks that make your taste buds dance! We also had chips and dip and fried macaroni... everything was excellent! Can't wait to return! It's definitely worth it!

Yelp
From the moment we arrived, the hostess, Carrina, was so rude to us. She had an attitude when we questioned our reservation. She wanted to sit us outside and when we questioned her about it, she stated that we booked the outdoor patio, which we did not. She then said that if we sat inside, we would only be able to sit for 2 hours and we said that was fine, then she said it would be loud and we said that was fine and finally with an even bigger attitude, she said that they only had outside available. We were disappointed but sat outside as we wanted to hear the music. Our waiter was great but our entrees were not good at all. Don't order the ribeye steak! The meat was tough and tasteless. The truffle fries only had parmesan cheese on them and were also flavorless. We did like the buffalo cauliflower and meatballs. We were disappointed with our experience as we came a previous time for brunch and enjoyed it. After my brunch experience, I recommended this restaurant to my family but will not recommend it again. If you want to listen to the music, just sit at the bar but I don't recommend eating there.

Yelp
Food was ok French onion soup had hardly any broth Cobbler for dessert was too wet Be careful of them with service fees They automatically added 3 percent for paying with a credit card and added a 20 percent gratuity. Waiter didn't mention any of it
google avatar

Yelp
Avoid This Place - Unhygienic Practices & Unreasonable Charges I visited this establishment on Friday, March 20, 2025 at 8 PM, and my experience was disheartening. The lack of hygiene and safety behind the bar was shocking. I witnessed bartender Olivia handling used dirty glasses by sticking her fingers inside them before placing them in the dishwasher trays--and made patrons drinks without washing her hands. Throughout the night, she repeatedly twirled her fingers in her hair and continued making drinks without washing her hands. If that wasn't bad enough, I also saw her dip a glass directly into the ice bin instead of using a proper scoop--an extremely unsafe practice for any bartender. On top of the poor hygiene, the hidden charges are absurd. They automatically add: * 3.7% convenience fee for credit cards * 20% auto gratuity I even saw two guests complain to the bartenders about these unexpected fees. It's clear that this place is not only unhygienic but also engaging in unreasonable billing practices. Do yourself a favor--stay far away from this place.

Yelp
Ok I really don't want to roast this restaurant because it is beautiful and I've heard good things. And let me preface and say it was a holiday so we were fully expecting it to be crazy. My husband booked it for Valentine's Day and it was PACKED. But we were seated right away and the waiter took a good 15 minutes to greet us, so we were eager to order drinks, app and entree. So let's begin, 1. As we sat down the 3+ person band was setting up, it was load, as they started you could see everyone's reaction (most were negative). They didn't just stand and sing, they all took turns waking and dancing through the isles... didn't make sense to me. Anyway... 2. As I mentioned we ordered right away bc we had ample time to check out the menu. We ordered a glass of wine and an old fashion. Simple. One appetizer and 2 entrees (both pasta). We never got bread and the wine came out 19 minutes after we ordered, the old fashion 25 minutes later, they did bring an extra glass of wine so that was cool. 3. After the drink came out, our entree came!!!! No bread, no appetizer, just both entrees. So we told waiter to cancel the app. Ok, husbands dish was seafood pasta and it was gritty and sandy, calamari was chewy, not good. Mine was vodka pasta, it was cold and had a hair in it but it looked yummy! We couldn't imagine waiting for a new round of food, the manager came over he was very sweet and very accommodating especially being how busy and backed up they were but we politely left and left a little something for the waiter. I can't say we would go back but maybe on an off time when it wouldn't be busy, we could give it a try based on the managers generosity.

Yelp
Nothing special- crispy artichokes - does that sound like they'd be deep fried? I didn't think so but like a piece of fried chicken there was a very fluffy coat of batter on them- just an odd combo and not worth the calories in my opinion. Butternut Squash Fries that could have passed as Sweet Potato Fries- odd. Server was very nice. I usually only eat at mall restaurants while shopping at the mall - I would not eat here if I wasn't shopping there. Ambiance was fine.

Yelp
Went to have dinner here. Opened the door and the music from a live band was so loud, we left.

Yelp
Came for the Will to Power event which started at 6pm per the advertisement, I made a reservation for 530pm. When I arrived for my reservation I asked the hostess if we are able to remain at our table for the length of the concert and she stated "yes of course". Also when I made the reservation online it did not mention a time limit on my confirmation. We were later told by our waitor that to continue sitting in our seats it would be an additional $50 per person (6 ppl in my party). My husband and I spent close to $200 in just food alone (butternut squash fries were flavorless) and we were all ordering drinks throughout the night. My friend and I inquired with the manager and explained that this was not disclosed to us nor does it state the above on my confirmation of my reservation. We were later told by the waitor if we do not pay or leave we will forcibly be removed, while we trying to figure out a resolution. My husband and his best friend seeing how much fun we were having up until that point bought a $250 dollar bottle of titos (which is $20 or $25 at total wine) so we could stay. I had a great time that night the music was amazing but this experience took away from the moment.

Yelp
Don't know where to start! Wish we knew about this place sooner. That 40 minute drive from Fort Lauderdale was definitely worth it. The ambiance was set from the moment we walked in. Who knew Sunday nights were Caribbean nights?!! Live music, great energy. The host was very pleasant, our server; Igor was also phenomenal. He answered a few questions we had regarding the cocktails and food items. For starters we had the macaroni balls and chicken dumplings. Both delicious. Our entrees were braised short ribs (literally could cut through it with my fork! so tender) and the surf and turf. We also had passion fruit margaritas; not too sweet - made perfectly. We'll be dining here again hopefully soon. Oh also there is free parking right out front.

Yelp
My wife and I went to a supposed Colombian celebration, after arriving there was nothing promoting the celebration, when I asked they told that someone just rent the space but they don't have nothing to do with the celebration, that was a bummer. The band arrived late and it was horrible. Had to order food per person in order to get a table and the food was very expensive and did not have any flavor and it was horrible, no flavor at all. But we liked the atmosphere, everyone was nicely dressed and our waiter was good I do not recommend this placed.
google avatar

Jim A.

Yelp
Horrible experience extremely loud music I couldn't even enjoy my meal. I will never go back.

Jane S.

Yelp
First time there tonight. The band was great, the wait for food and drink, not so great. We had to grab the manager after 15 minutes to get some drinks, and we were there for over half an hour before a server appeared to take our order. They don't have their own restaurant bathroom. You have to go out the side door and walk along a corridor to the MALL bathroom (which hadn't been cleaned - yeuk!)
google avatar

Yelp
Makes perfect sense they're being evicted after owing unpaid rent and filing bankruptcy What an awful experience on my wife's birthday. I had been wanting to try this place for a couple months. The server was not personable or attentive at all. What a mess. To top off a marginal and disappointing visit - besides the disgustingly overpriced drinks - we were shocked by the automatic twenty percent gratuity added to the bill. What a joke. The food was pretty good mixed in with a random woman that did fire dancing and other dancing around the dining room. Some odd sh!t. Bro is lucky, because he should've tipped me to wait on our table. Sayonara, Blue Dog.

Richard

Yelp
Sat at the bar during "Happy Hour" on July 17th expecting discounted liquor....Wrong! Ordered Johnny Walker Black for me and my wife. Didn't notice while paying bill that I was charged for Johnny Walker Blue @$30/drink ! Returned on July 18 and complained with a promise of a credit when the GM came in on July 19. Still waiting.....5 days and no response although I gave him my contact details. Watch out !!!

Yelp
Went for a "90's Throwback" Brunch. My cocktail was delicious. The crowd was lively. The sushi/pizza was weird (would not recommend) And although the dj set was good, it was so loud that it was disorienting. It's a small restaurant, the same effect could've been achieved at a significantly lower volume. Hostess couldn't hear me, wait staff needed sign language to take my order. Because of that I stayed less than an hour.

Yelp
The Blue Dog was referred to us by a friend who lives in the area. We were at the Children's Science Explorium and Sugar Sand Park and looking for a spot for lunch. The brunch menu caught our attention, not to mention this was super close to where we were too. You can find The Blue Dog located at Town Center at Boca Raton. It's next to The Container Store. When I walked in, it wasn't what I expected at all. The name sounded fairly casual but when you walk in, you'll find a gorgeous modern space with an elegant touch. When I walked into the restaurant, I also noticed a sign by the main entrance that said "Kids Eat Free EVERY DAY!" Say what?!? You heard me right, kids under 12 eat free every day with purchase of entree! What a bonus! Our server was Phil and he was incredibly attentive. I love his chill and calm demeanor. He was also kind enough to acknowledge our children's good manners each time they said please or thank you, he would thank them for having such wonderful manners. Needless to say, Phil always went above and beyond to ensure we had a good dining experience. We ordered the huevos rancheros, chicken & waffles and grilled avocado eggs Benedict. The kids got spaghetti with butter, fries and pancakes with fruit. Everything was fresh and delicious. The three adult meals were all on point. I personally got the chicken & waffles because my husband and daughter got my other two favorite brunch items and I knew I could try their dishes as well. Fries were hand cut had skin on it and came out hot and crispy. All dishes had great flavor. My chicken & waffles was BOMB!!! It was served with two sunny side up eggs which seemed like a lot so I put the eggs on the side so my chicken & waffles didn't get soggy. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffles were fluffy and light. They had me at the jalapeño infused maple syrup but honestly, I couldn't taste the jalapeño. I wish it was spicier! Still delicious. The chicken & waffles were a perfect bite together! So happy with my dish. Loved the ambiance, service and food all in all. Highly recommend. Apparently The Blue Dog is a popular spot in New York and this is their second location.

Yelp
We had a fabulous night. Food, atmosphere and drinks. Our bartender Kate was super friendly, professional and her energy made the whole experience so enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Katelyn absolutely made this a 5 star experience. She was so attentive and made sure we were taken care of. 10/10 would recommend!!!!!!!

Yelp
Awesome dinner. My wife and I ate at the bar. Kate served us, she made the best spicy margarita and espresso martini! Highly recommend best service.

Yelp
On Tuesday, The Blue Dog runs a special all night with happy hour prices. They have live music, don't have a cover or minimum. The food is good and oysters are $1.00 each ...drinks are half price,a bargain. The dance floor is quite small but people seem to squeeze in, if they want to dance.

Yelp
We went to Blue Dog this evening for the 1st time. We sat at a bar table for over 15 minutes,no service w 4-5 employees standing directly behind our table, not even a menu or water offered. Very disappointing, the only business was at the bar itself. No patrons @ restaurant tables. We ended up walking out. Unlikely we'll return. We wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
The food was mediocre and the prices were outrageous for lunch. They overcharged for salads. On top of everything else they automatically billed 22% gratuity and asked for more and they charge 3.5% more for using a credit card. For three people , two salads and one fish meal I ended up paying over $145.00 And did I mention the food was mediocre. I have never been at a restaurant that cheated their customers as much as they did. I never go there again.

Yelp
The Blue Dog @bluedogboca Boca Raton, FL Everything was great. Very classy restaurant ambiance. Service at the bar was okay but cold have been better if my bartender was a bit more attentive. Loved the Beautiful Stranger Cocktail made of @absolutus Absolut Elyx vodka, @italicusrdb bergamot liquor, Pineapple-camomile sorbet, Vanilla infused syrup, and lemon. The Goddess Aphrodite vegan burger was crispy on the outside and very flavorful. I can tell they used beets and black beans to make the patty. Topped with Brussel sprouts and shiitake mushrooms. It was very yum! Would you try the Goddess Aphrodite vegan burger? #thebluedog #bluedogboca #bocaraton #bocatownsquare #blue #Dog #cocktail #beautiful #stranger #Goddess #Aphrodite #vegan #burger #foodblogfeed #foodvideo #bhfyp #reeloftheday #foodreview #foodcritic #soflofoodie #fortlauderdalefoodies #floridafoodie #floridafood #foodie #vlogger #eatzwithsweetz #letseatz

Yelp
Had high hopes for this restaurant. Went on a Wednesday night. Had a fun vibe with DJ. It is preseason so not busy but a ton of staff looking around. Our waiter came over and tried to sell us on the Wednesday all you can eat rib-eye. The place didn't seem like the place for steak so we went with menu items. Drinks were our first indication we were in trouble. A vodka martini straight up came tasting like there was more simple syrup in it than vodka. It was sent back and redone. Not sure how you can mess that up. 12 oysters and mussels to start and meatballs. We were barely done our appetizers when our mains showed up, thrown on the table. There was little space for our dinners. We were consolidating plates and while 8 servers stood by and watched, we ended up clearly our empty plates on to the bar, getting a look from the hostess. At no point did anyone come over to check on what was going on, just looks from a staff who could care less whether we were happy or not. The food was good, but being rushed with poor service when there are great restaurants in Boca is not enough to bring me back. Was hopeful that it would be a great place to bring our kids when they visit this winter...not happening. In this day and age, it is great to see staff in a restaurant, I guess the next step would be to get the staff to do their job and actually care about their patrons. Shame!

Yelp
Food and service was absolutely horrendous and our table agreed the meal ranks amongst the worst eaten in many, many years. The dumplings with chicken and buffalo were cauliflower were inedible. Based on that didn't want to venture into anything more courageous than a burger which was also so bland that it wasn't worth eating. But I was so starved had to eat. 0 stars if normal hunger if you're starved 1/5. One thing consistent with Town Center is that all their restaurants are horrible which is strange given the great demographics.

Yelp
The worst restaurant we've ever dined at. I would give it zero stars if possible. Food was inedible! No need for me to go into detail.. it was that bad. Had 2 drinks at the bar before dinner during HAPPY HOUR. Price $46!! which included a 3% surcharge for credit card. McDonald's would have been a better choice.

Yelp
This dining experience was stellar from start to finish. Parking is widely available in the Boca mall lot. Our server, Felipe, has the most superb customer service skills imaginable!  Our guacamole & chips ($17) & butternut squash fries ($15) appetizers were phenomenal!!! The truffle mushroom gnocchi ($27) was also quite tasty (quite rich/heavy sauce). Felipe made this a dinner to remember! The ambience, service, & food quality are extraordinary at The Blue Dog!!

Yelp
Came on a slow Sunday night. I love the decor and ambiance. I started off with a cocktail at the bar. Bartender was very helpful and engaging as well. He mentioned Friday and Saturday nights are very lively with a Latin band. I can imagine the place goes crazy. Now, for the food, my date, and I started off with some oysters that were very fresh and yummy, followed by the grilled octopus, which was nothing short of amazing. We shared the Branzino as an entrée. It was spot on. It had a nice lemon zest to it with butter. And baked to perfection. Our server Phillipe was amazing and I will definitely come back.

Yelp
This place is in such a prime location and it's really a shame that they don't have their act together when it comes to service and food.. After reading all the terrible reviews, we thought we'd give this place a chance since someone I know was performing last night. The hostess was very friendly. Said we had to wait for our table because it was not ready, no problem. When we got to the table, there were glasses and small plates, but no silverware and no napkins. We sat there for approximately 30 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. We decided to order everything including appetizers and food because we had a feeling we were going to be in for a long wait. Service was appallingly slow. Anyway... my mussels tasted like they were straight out of the box, several were gritty, and several did not open. My friend's salad was a giant bowl of iceberg with some vegetables thrown on top. Very mediocre. The octopus was good. The fried calamari was chewy. No one came back to fill our waters or our ice teas. Not in a million years would I ever return here. On top of all of that, the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Somebody took a big dump in the toilet and it literally looked like it was sitting there for hours. Paper towels all over the floor and urine all over the toilet seats. I'd rather pop a squat outside. By the way, legend Connie Francis was there with her friends, and they didn't get a waiter until 40 minutes after they sat down either! What a sorry excuse for a restaurant and management!!

Yelp
First time here Love the look of the inside! Service was ok. She was super sweet but took awhile to come back to check on us. (The place wasn't busy at this point) I'll be honest... it's pricy. And it's fine if it's great.. Margaritas were good! Decently strong but sooo small with lots of ice and not even filled to the top! The table behind me got their drink and wow if I was paying this amount on a drink and got that size.... It better be strong if it's that small. The calamari was decent. I've had better. For $18 I want my calamari to be soft...a good amount of pieces were chewy. Took forever to get more of the sauce that comes with it. My mom and I got the Margarita flatbread. Again it was good but nothing worth the price. The men got the cheezus burger and pollo loco Burger was good but had better The chicken sandwich was good ! Altogether, the ambience was the best part. Food was alright for the price. I have had cheaper that tasted better..... sorry Really wanted to love this place :(
