The Blue Door

Loved this find during on our little weekend away in Sydney to celebrate my partners 40th. The staff were fun and personable. The ethos around their produce, sustainable & ethical practices within their restaurant through to using and supporting local farmers with sustainable and ethical farming practices is fantastic and something I hope we start to see more of across the board. And the food! A fresh, fun 7 course experience of diverse flavours (wine pairing was also a delight). Unlike many fine dining establishments, this one has zero pretentiousness which to some may appear “too casual” but to me, it’s clear that this restaurant is all about the produce, the food and the connection to both your food, and the company you are with and just enjoying the experience together. No fancy bows, bells or whistles needed. And honestly, as much as in love a fancy degustation experience in a sexy dimly lit establishment, it’s was refreshing to feel at home and welcome in a more casual setting to what you may traditionally expect when you think of “fine dining”. Every aspect is absolutely amazing about this restaurant. The service is great, the waitress are knowledgeable about the dishes and are very welcoming. The food are made with some of the best ingredients I have ever eaten, very thoughtful component and uses Asian n western fine dining fusion to the finest. I can’t believe they would change the menu weekly and still have this quality for each dishes. I also have to mention that the portion is very appropriate for set menu, you won’t feel the sensation of the burden of the set menu if you have medium appetite The sourdough are made with 9 years old mother yeast and there is another bread made of grinded bread (bread of bread lol), paired with cultured butter. Everything is at its best, one of the best bread and butter ever, oh and the salt? Very fun addition to the bread. Following the bread we have the snack attack, I can’t describe how good each of the snacks are, I enjoyed all of them especially the pork head meat croquette thing For the rest of the menu, they are good, perfect and seriously even better than previous dishes. The poultry and beef are heavenly good. Just try yourself you won’t regret it Overall, I will come back again and again. I love these type of easy going but serious on food type of fine dining place

I love that they focus on farm-to-table, serving fresh, locally sourced ingredients that make each dish stand out. The courses were absolutely delicious, and you can really taste the difference in the quality of the food. Their commitment to sustainability is clear, and the wine pairings were perfectly chosen to complement each course. Whether it’s for a special occasion or a casual night out, The Blue Door delivers every time. Highly recommend!

The Blue Door is a fine dining culinary delight! This is one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had!! The variety of locally produced food, masterfully cooked into an array of delicious dishes, as the photos show. The service is excellent with the personal touch you’d expect from the owners attending to you. We probably went overboard having a full wine pairing each, but we got through it and exited feeling rather merry. This is a fantastic restaurant and we look forward to coming up with an excuse to return soon.

Cannot say enough good things about this spot. I throughly enjoyed communicating with Ang leading up to the dinner. She took great care of my wife and I and even gave us some recommendations to do in town. Intimate environment where you feel like you’re coming over for family dinner. The food is so so good. Come hungry. You won’t regret it.

This is our second visit and the place is still exquisite. The effort and love that goes into the menu and the wine pairing would be hard to beat. Such a great dining experience, would highly recommend.

Great evening at The Blue Door! Tasty food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Very glad we did the wine pairing. Highly recommend for a down to earth fine dining experience.
