Not a great experience. The service was the worst part of the experience. Finished my entire meal without once being checked on by the wait staff. Never got a refill and never was able to discuss an issue with what I ordered. The worst part was it seemed the entire wait staff was all having a great time with each other at the bar. Positive note the smoked duck with rice was amazing. Absolutely great dish. Sam Elliot burger was good but not 18 dollars worth. House made chips were way over cooked. Do NOT order the burnt end pork belly. Was nearly entirely fat. See pictures. Ethie honestly saved this review. He was very kind and listened to my issues. Sadly this was after everything was already done. Hanging out and drinking at the bar for workers should be secondary if customers are present.

Our friends took us here for brunch thinking we'd enjoy it, and they were right! Friendly staff, great service, and the food was absolutely outstanding. Two people ate very well with drinks for about $35. The Louberry french toast made me wish I had one as well, but the breakfast sandwich had amazing balance of sweet and savory. Will be back again when in town! My only complaint is the pew seating, likely secondhand from churches - some are so tight in a corner it's difficult to get in and out from your table, but that is easily remedied.

I’ve been to this spot a few times and I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. I do recommend sitting if space allows near the bar of you are on a date. The back doesn’t have the same ambience. The food is great and I haven’t had anything yet I don’t enjoy. I need to try their dinner which I’ve been told by the staff is better than the already amazing brunch. As far as chocolate chip cookie I thought it was good. There’s a little hint of salt and the texture is a little different than I expected but still fantastic. I saved some of it for the next day as it’s a big cookie and it tasted great. They have a large selection of fresh baked goods at the front counter and you can ask your server or buy up front There’s brisket breakfast burrito is the perfect hearty meal along with some hot sauce.

I've been to The Blue Duck a few times before and it never disappoints. Tonight was no exception. I was looking for a spot nearby to enjoy some much-needed girl time and catch up with an old friend, and The Blue Duck was the perfect choice—conveniently located near where I live and where she works. Although the weather was beautiful and the patio was open, we chose to sit inside for a cozy, relaxed vibe. I’ve always loved duck, and their take on it is consistently excellent. I ordered the DLT—that’s duck, lettuce, and tomato—elevated with a perfectly cooked egg and a sweet-spicy honey chipotle mayo, all nestled between slices of sourdough. It came with a side of crispy tots and their house-made ketchup, which added a fresh, tangy kick. Absolutely delicious. My friend went with the Classic Burger and hand-cut thick fries, which looked just as satisfying. The food here has always been spot on, and tonight was no exception. The duck was smoked and served slightly medium—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. While I’ve yet to try one of their desserts, I’m always tempted—each one is beautifully plated and looks like a work of art. Even just seeing them pass by to other tables feels like a treat. If you're looking for a warm, inviting place with consistently great food and a relaxed atmosphere, check out this neighborhood favorite. The Blue Duck is a place you’ll want to come back to—again and again.

Google
Absolutely life changing burger and flavors. Wife got the duck Benny and I got the Hot honey burger. Every bite is worth the price and more. We're still riding the high going home. Quick service, incredibly friendly staff, don't skip dessert!

Attention: LOOK AT THE MENU BEFORE YOU GO! They make you order before they sit you is all. So instead of standing waiting it's helpful to know when walking in. The drinks were EXCELLENT. We sat at the bar. Bartender was great (would love to shout him out but forget it 😓) food was good. Hung out for over 3 hour. Would go back in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone.

Google
You grab a menu when you enter, there are also specials on the chalkboards. Order at the register, find a table and the staff brings your order. I actually liked this system, we had virtually no wait and the bartender had our drinks within two minutes of sitting down. We order the DLT - duck ham, lettuce and tomato with salad greens and a fried egg. Served on nice toasted bread, thick enough to stand up to the aioli and egg, the duck ham was tender and smoky, amazing flavor. The veggies were fresh tasting and the egg was prepared perfectly. I had a side of pasta salad and it was definitely made in house, with corkscrew pasta, shredded carrots, grape tomato, red onion and mayo with a good hit of spicy heat - highly recommended! My partner had the fried chicken Bennie and said the chicken was tender and juicy, the breading was tasty, but did come off the chicken during the meal. The hollandaise sauce was seasoned well and tasted great. Her fresh fruit had sweet grapes and crisp melons. Overall this was a great lunch, nice casual atmosphere and attentive service. A tad pricey but the quality was there and the taste was spot on. I will be back at some point for dinner!!

Fantastic food and very helpful staff. We had a large group and we were accommodated with no issues. Wonderful option in St. Louis. Pleasant atmosphere.

Yelp
Holy blue duck, Batman! Trying a new place on the way back into town after vacation, and oh my word it was awesome! Pricy, but awesome. The chicken club was absolutely incredible, and shockingly, the fries -- just the regular ones; I didn't try duck fat fries, etc -- have catapulted up to my "top 5 fries ever" list! Decor is fun. I need to learn the story of the restaurant name. Staff was friendly and efficient, and I love that they gave me (great!) suggestions when I proclaimed I'm a newcomer. I can't wait to get back here! Menu is kinda small, but I am committed to trying it all.

Yelp
The food was good, and the service was quick, but not incredibly attentive after our food came out. Everyone was very friendly though! The vibe is kind of like a quirky brunch place (lots of old doors as decoration). I had the breakfast poutine. It was extremely hardy with chunky chips (steak fries). The jalapeño gravy was delicious. The meal was a bit salty but when you're mixing fried potatoes, gravy, and bacon, it's expected. My other half had the chorizo bowl. It was yummy too but I think the chorizo could have been spicier. We shared a Louberry pie. It was a bit too sweet, and served cold. Ok, but not my favorite. We went with friends. Would come again but not out of our way.

Yelp
I really like going to the blue duck for a drink and sometimes a meal! They have a great rooftop patio that always just makes the experience so much better. I really feel like the cocktails make this restaurant the best. They have specials that you can order as well as a typical menu. Last time I went, I ordered the strawberry whiskey sour and my mom got the aviation. I think next time I would get the aviation, as well, because it was really good! I have not ordered this (yet), but I always see people with the chicken sandwich and it looks amazing. I plan to try it in the future!

Yelp
I had been to the Blue Duck when it was in Washington MO and absolutely loved it. I had the DLT then and had the same thing in Maplewood. You order when you walk in and they will bring your food to you. We went specifically to sit on the rooftop deck. Who doesn't love a rooftop deck. We got our food quickly and as expected, was delicious. But don't forget dessert...there is a counter at the front with a plethora of different desserts and cookies. It's hard not to try them all. The macrons were some of the best I've had. Do it!

Yelp
Wow! I can't believe it took us this long to visit The Blue Duck. From what I heard a lot of people think this is a fancy restaurant located in Maplewood Missouri however, it is a nice casual eatery. When you walk in, you grab a menu and select your meal choices along with drinks. Place the order with the hostess and then take a number and find a table at your table. You will be waiting on as any other restaurant and serve one of the most delicious meals you can get in that area of St. Louis . I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries and garlic, aïoli dipping sauce. It did not disappoint. Every bite was amazing! It was a delicious burger, and the fries with the dipping sauce were delicious. The service was outstanding as we were waited on and given refills and checked on multiple times. You can tell that quality is of the utmost importance at The Blue Duck.

Yelp
Another fantastic brunch experience. This time, I brought three of my adult kids and we had an awesome meal, as expected. We grabbed a table on the roof and enjoyed the nice weather. The young man serving us was funny, attentive and a good server. What we had this time: - Brisket Quesarito: (4.8/5): I confess to being a breakfast burrito snob, so when I tell you this is fantastic, believe me, it is fantastic! It's dishes like these that will keep me from ever being a skinny man! - Hot Honey Cheddar burger (4.7/5): Might be a best burger I have had all year. So many flavors, excellent texture and the hot honey just took it to an 11! - pork belly cheese fries (4.8/5): You might hate yourself an hour or two after licking the bowl clean, but you will enjoy every moment you are doing it. This dish is literally to die for.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were in Maplewood and in the mood for some brunch! We stopped at blue duck, had a (kinda) friendly greeting, and the place was clean! I ordered the fried chicken benny, and it was very flavorful. The hollandaise was very rich and delicious, even though I'd prefer just a touch less of the sauce. The tots were perfection, period. Overall and nice breakfast with tons of options.

Yelp
Came to the Blue Duck for a happy hour with a friend. Really loved the happy hour menu and appreciated the great mocktails they had on the happy hour specials as well. The hidden gem was their new rooftop patio - such a great spot! Loved: the service was amazing especially for being a few stories above the kitchen. The rooftop patio was fantastic and was a perfect spot for happy hour. The fries and aioli were great, as well as my tajin/tequila inspired mocktail - 10/10 Liked: the chicken tenders were a little different but if you like a crunchy batter instead of egg/flour mixture it's really good

Yelp
We came right before they opened, but there were already a few parties lined up in front of the restaurant. You basically order first at the front register before you can get a table to sit down. We ordered the Pork Belly burnt ends, Chorizo bowl, egg bene-duck, and tres leches bread pudding. Overall, food was decent, but overpriced imo. I also didn't like they served plastic plates/cups here.

Yelp
Finally made it here for a late Saturday brunch. We ordered at front and found a seat in the bar area to eat. We were mostly there just to eat and go, so we didn't get a chance to test the fun sounding drinks or appetizing desserts, but we both quite liked our meals. My friend had one of the burgers, which he enjoyed, and I had the chicken club, which I thought was quite tasty. I think what really sets the sandwiches apart is the bread - great stuff. Will definitely come back some time to try out a cocktail or two.

Yelp
I've been to the Blue Duck many times and am finally getting around to writing a review! It is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. Most people order at the front and then are seated but we usually go straight to the bar and sit there - you can order food at the bar, and it's so fun watching them make drinks! The bartenders are all really nice as well! Food is usually pretty quick, even when busy. Drink menu is extensive and I've never been disappointed! Most recently, I had Neil's Napalm and the Guacarita - do not be intimidated by the avo/cilantro/tequila combo, it's surprisingly good! Drinks are always fun and strong and they have a huge selection! As for food, I am a Chicken Club addict! Sometimes I get it roasted and sometimes I get Nashville hot. Both are SO good that I've never managed to order anything else, but I know everything else is also delicious, especially burgers. I've had the pork belly fries before and maintain that it's one of the best things I've ever eaten. If you haven't been to the Blue Duck yet, GO!

Yelp
Yummm! Still thinking about their crispy fries! We were able to easily order our food inside and then went outside to grab a table. It was a nice night and there were plenty of tables to sit at. It did smell slightly like garbage where we ended up, but it didn't last like that for too longer. We both got burgers and fries and they were cooked perfectly. The fries had a good crispy on the outside, but potato softness on the inside. The burgers had great flavors as well. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Never had a bad meal here. Hot honey burger, chicken club, and brisket Philly are all amazing and try the Lou berry pie!
google avatar

Danielle P.

Yelp
A great place to go and catch up with friends. The ordering experience is to do so when you walk in and then you are seated. If you are someone who needs time to figure out what you want then looking at the menu in advance can help. We ordered the brisket appetizer for the table and everyone enjoyed it. The roasted chicken was great. Everyone in my group was satisfied with their meal and there was a variety of selections amongst us all. The cookie selection looks delightful, after sitting in front of the box the entire 3 hours our group was there just was convinced to take one home with me. The peanut butter brownie cookie was not what l expected. Next time would stick with a basic sugar or peanut butter.

Yelp
I have been here a few times now and never leave disappointed. The breakfast food and service is sublime. Lunch and dinner offer the same experience. Ordering is done at the counter to the left after walking in. Seat yourself in various areas throughout the restaurant: inside, at the bar, small patio outside, and a new rooftop deck! As far as food options, I do not believe you could go wrong with anything! The chicken tenders, burgers, and brisket cheesesteak are among my favorites! Everything here is made with the freshest ingredients, which really shines through in the food. If you're in Maplewood. I highly recommend the Blue Duck!! Also the macarons are delicious and quite large.
google avatar

Erica D.

Yelp
I loooovvveeee the variety menu they offer at this place and the desserts were some I have never seen anywhere else! When you walk in the menus are at the door and you order before choosing your table. I like this because it allows you to get a head start without waiting for a server! The lighting is great for a chill vibes restaurant. I was expecting it to be a fancy place but instead it was more fun and all the servers were TOP TIER personality wise. I loved every single person that I interacted with. The drinks and food were absolutely amazing. Whatever sauce was in that Duck Fried Rice OMG!!! The burger was nice and juicy, and the pork belly cheese fries were perfection. Drinks were good, wish there was more. The only thing I did not care for was the spinach dip. It was extremely too much cream cheese, and no real flavor. That is the only reason I would give it four stars but I would definitely highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Our favorite brunch spot in St. Louis! Service is always fast and friendly, and I can never get enough of the fried chicken benny. Can't forget to grab some macarons and other goodies on the way out!

Yelp
So many of their burgers sounded so good it was hard to pick! I got the burger of the month with tots. We were hoping to sit on the rooftop but it was packed (which is totally understandable).
google avatar

Natasha L.

Yelp
Nice staff, they have a good amount of seating if you have a larger group. They have a solid dessert menu. We did brunch there and the food was just okay for me. I had the biscuits and gravy a half order biscuit were a little crunchy but overall okay. I got a side of eggs over medium but weren't really warm when I got them. My husband had the DLT and enjoyed it. Our friend had the french toast, brisket fries and another had a burger. Good experience just wish the food was a little better
google avatar

Yelp
The Blue Duck is one of my favorites in the city! Each time I've visited for brunch, lunch, or dinner, I've never been disappointed! They've also just opened a rooftop patio which is so cutely decorated and has a great view of downtown Maplewood! Plenty of seating on various levels of the restaurant brings a unique aspect to the establishment. They also offer many delicious cocktails to choose from and the bakery items are delicious!! The Louberry Macaroon in particular is a MUST! Service and staff are always friendly and helpful. There is also plenty of parking with a back lot and also street parking. Definitely check this hidden gem out!
google avatar

Yelp
Blue Duck located in Maplewood needs to be on your list of places to check out this weekend! The laidback restaurant serves up delicious burgers, incredible desserts, and fun cocktails! A few of my favorites are: Coffee and Cardamom Old Fashioned: Buffalo Trace bourbon, Sazerac Rye, house bitters, coffee, cardamom, demerara Bacon Fat Fries: Herbs, Parmesan, shallot aioli, 100% fancy catsup Basket 'o Bread: Cornbread muffins, honey thyme focaccia, butter, black pepper strawberry jam Challah Back Girl Burger: House cured grilled chuck patty, bacon, yellow cheddar, caramelized onion, hot honey, maple shallot aioli on French toasted challah bun Duck Fat Fried Rice: Duck quarter, Gochujang pepper jelly, carrot, onion, peas, furikake, egg Risotto: Roasted mushrooms, braised leek, chives, Parmesan, mascarpone Brown Butter Oatmeal Cookie... honestly all the desserts are amazing! Get there early, the restaurant fills up quickly!

Yelp
We've been twice now. The whole order at the counter and have a seat vibe is fabulous. We've had amazing service both times we went. We sat at the bar once and upstairs (inside) the next time. Very plate with all food and drinks. My hubs loves their dessert selection too!
google avatar

Josh R.

Yelp
If you come, it's a must to go to the rooftop patio. You can see the city and take in some amazing views. It's different because you order when you walk in, but it's nice. You then go pick your seat. I had the brisket cheesesteak with tater tots. It was amazing, a must get when you come. For dessert I split the Mexican hot chocolate Sando. It's a small cookie but very good. It wasn't super spicy or chocolately.
google avatar

Jo Nell R.

Yelp
Brunch! Same as the rest of the week, order at the counter and find a table. We opted to sit in the bar area this time, Pretty busy with a few people ahead of us but the coffee and waters were produced quickly and the food wasn't much later. Friendly staff, several check ins, and my coffee was kept topped off. I don't each much duck, but the DLT sounded intriguing so I went with that, I am afraid of sauces so asked for it on the side. If tater tots are on the menu, I am ordering them! I loved the sandwich and the sauce (honey chipotle mayo), The DLT included smoked duck ham, lettuce, tomato, and a fried egg. It was very good! The tater tots were cooked to perfection! And they were great dipped in the honey chipotle mayo. Great, casual spot with a friendly staff and good food.
google avatar

Cassandra S.

Yelp
This is definitely a unique experience. When you walk in we are giving a number and you place your order when you walk in immediately can you take your number and you go find a table you want to sit at. Then they will bring your drinks, food etc to your desired table. You pay after you eat at your table. You don't really have a waitress or waiter. If you need anything you can go to the front desk and they're pretty great at helping. I had ordered a smoked turkey salad. It was delicious. I also ordered a side of bacon. Both came out very quickly! They have homemade desserts, including oatmeal cream pies, which is amazing. They also have desserts of the day, strawberry pie, and even ice cream! I have been wanting to try this spot for a while, so super excited I finally got the chance to come in! The ambience is loud, but still a great spot for a date, double date or just brunch with the girls

Yelp
Areas of Strength: Friendly service, quick ordering and food preparation, presentation, great and excellent homemade condiments Areas for Growth: balance of flavors in dishes and value for cost of food (the drinks were delicious and reasonably priced). We stepped in for a friend's night out on a Wednesday night around 7:30pm and were able to quickly place our orders at the front and take our choice of tables in the dining room. We both ordered duck dishes (the Duck Fried Rice at $27 and the DLT at $19) as the restaurant name suggests that would be their specialty. I was shocked to see only three or four duck options on the menu! Both arrived promptly and together with our drinks. My first bite of tater tot and ketchup had me double checking the description on the menu because these were so much better than any other tater tots I've had! We settled on the house made ketchup as the reason (a reason to go back to be sure). My DLT was less mind blowing. It was the perfect amount of food for a meal and I did not leave hungry, but I did leave dissatisfied. The DLT has a fried egg on it and, in conjunction with the mayo and duck, it made for an overwhelmingly rich, fatty flavor profile. I wish there had been more of that salt/acid/fat balance. Perhaps this could be achieved through a larger cut of tomato and some added salt (a wild statement from me if you know me as salt is not my favorite thing)? I am not really sure but I certainly wouldn't order it again in this iteration. My friend ordered the duck fried rice which was also rich but much more satisfying in flavor. That said, $27 is steep for duck fried rice. You can get the same quality dish elsewhere in town for $4-$8 less. I would be remiss if I didn't highlight the star of our dinner, the drinks. I had the Isle of Capri Pants and my friend had the Gin and Tonic. Both were great. Mine was perfectly refreshing for the 90 degree day and the latter was made generously strong. Overall would return to try other dishes, but the drinks alone would have me coming back for good conversation ambiance.

Yelp
This is an amazing, inclusive food vibe (they can accommodate allergies). The staff is friendly and welcoming. Omg and the desserts are beyond delicious !
google avatar

Ashley Q.

Yelp
Hadn't been to Blue Duck since it first opened. The bbq and dip were delicious. The chicken finger breading wasn't just standard, it had more texture and crunch. The ranch was delicious. All products made in house. The Aww Kenny was a fun bourbon cocktail. Delicious little crème brûlée macaron was amazing, I could have eaten 10. The new roof top patio was very cool, but there are a lot of steps, so definitely beware if that's an issue. Cool place to hang out and everyone was super friendly and helpful. The private room area would be great for a little shower or event.
google avatar

Melba M.

Yelp
The fried chicken and the French toast tasted too dry. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the selection of items either and expected more. We sat inside and the service and ambiance were standard.
google avatar

Parker B.

Yelp
Great spot for drinks and appetizers. You order your food and drinks right when you walk which seemed a little odd. We got the pork belly cheese fries and wings. Both were delicious. We sat upstairs on the patio. They had a server on the patio that came around to check on us.
google avatar

Arabella G.

Yelp
This was our 2nd time eating at The Blue Duck and both times left with full bellies We heard about them from the Mac and cheese throw-down event and got our votes for the win and wanted more (we still think they should've won ) Great atmosphere, you order at the entrance and they give you a number to take with you and just seat yourself to a table, I love the lights they have all around the restaurant and they do have a patio but have not got the chance to try it out.. just yet. Our waitress was so nice and attentive, recommended some drinks and did not lie about how good it was (ahem manhattan) had a great personality and overall the vibes were good 10/10
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
Another visit to the Blue Duck and enjoyed it just as well. Recently, they opened up outside dining on the rooftop, so we had lunch up there. Great food, and great service!
google avatar

Marissa J.

Yelp
This restaurant has some good food options. We went for brunch and also had a large party of 16. My cousin called ahead and they had two tables section off for us which was nice. You have to order before you sit down so we made sure that our whole party was there before we ordered and then went to the table. I got the chicken club, which was very good and flavorful. I really like the homemade ketchup. I will say that some of our food did come out a little cold like my bread pudding. Tonic is also good as well and worth the try, it is very refreshing.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
We stopped for a late lunch on a Tuesday, so couldn't get a feel for the vibe of the place, but the staff was friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. They have a small outside patio right off the bar and a rooftop deck that is accessible from an upstairs dining area. Both of these spaces are available for events as well as open for general seating. They have a well stocked bar and good sized cocktail menu and liquor list. They make everything in house - all the bread, sauces, desserts, etc. Everything we tried reflected their passion for creating well made food and tasty dishes! Hubby tried the Classic with pork belly cheese fries. He thought they were both really good and I was impressed with the pork belly pieces. They were a better ratio of meat to fat than most pork belly items I've tried and had great flavor. I had the Dip 'n Swiss with a side salad and I really enjoyed both of them. The salad was a nice light accompaniment to the burger which was very filling. We hope to go back next time we are in town and make time for a cocktail and dessert!

Yelp
This is a spot that's been on my radar for awhile. Was at the cat Cafe down the street and was in search of some brunch. Was able to get seated right away at the bar. Went with the biscuits and gravy and got a side of French toast lol. Both were good and very rich. Loved the crispy edges on the French toast. Would definitely get that again. Drink menu is super creative. Beyond the standard bloody and mimosa brunch cocktails. Worth the visit and food was tasty.

Yelp
Ambiance is cool and more like a bar. Service a bit slow but everything came as ordered although food was solid. Nothing to rave about to be honest but if in the area at the right time I'd consider going back. I made some requests while ordering my food and the host tried to help me make sure I understood why I was getting so I did appreciate that, thank you.

Sewasew H.

Yelp
The food was excellent! I got the Hot Honey Cheddar which was had a slightly sweet flavor from the honey but not too sweet. It was full of flavor! My friend got the Sam Elliot which they described as "it will keep you silent until it is finished because it is so good!" The staff were super friendly and the antique decors are super cool.

Yelp
Great cocktails, burgers, & macaroons! The Blue Duck is a great place to meet friends for drinks or a meal. There's ample sitting in the bar, restaurant, and outdoor space! Upon entering the space, you and your party order drinks and food with the host and are then given a number and a place to sit. Due to our 2 couple party, this process was a bit of a hassle, we would have preferred to sit, peruse the menu, and then order--they're process worked well though and the drinks and food arrived quickly. Drinks: my husband loved the Aww Kenny and Blood & Sand--talked about both all the next day! I had the Attitude of Gratitude and loved the mix of flavors and zero proof gin. Burgers: our party enjoyed 2 Bigger Quacks (one bunless), Challah Back Girl, and the weekly Slamburger. We all ate everything on our plates. For dessert, we had the pistachio macaroon and the vanilla macaroon--both delicious, so delicious neither of us shared with the other! We left The Blue Duck happy and well fed!

Yelp
I went to the Blue Duck on a Daturday for brunch, so the restaurant was crowded. It was a bit of a wait - for both ordering our food and receiving it. But once the food came all was forgiven. My burger was so delicious and filling!!! The bbq sauce on the burnt ends was so flavorful and paired so well with the cheesy fries! We enjoyed ourselves and we'll be returning!

Yelp
Solid great food. I ordered the smokehouse club. It was really good. We were also treated very well by the attentive staff. I will be back.

Yelp
First visit was underwhelming. Upon arrival I'm the 80% empty establishment they wouldn't seat me until my dining companion arrived for lunch. It's annoying not being seated to at least get drinks started, explore the menu at the comfort of a dining table & simply take a freaking load off. Next we had to order at the hostess stand....annoyance #2. I prefer speaking with an actual server which segways into annoyance #3. Food arrives & half of the order was incorrect because the inattentive hostess missed the NO BACON request. Therefore, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the order to be remade while the other half sat cold/half eaten. Lastly, if I wanted to try anything on the menu with duck...this wasn't the day; as they were completed out of duck at THE Blue Duck. Hopefully my next visit will be better. ~Christy

Yelp
While shopping in Maplewood lady at local bookstore recommended Blue Duck for lunch. Three of us were seated within 10 minutes at noon. Service was excellent and food was exceptional. I had French toast stuffed with cream cheese topped with louberries (strawberries and blueberries). Others had different specialty burgers and fries. All our plates were clean when lunch was over. We were too full for any of their desserts, but we did bring home a Mexican hot chocolate cookie sandwich, a gooey butter cookie sandwich and a maple bacon gooey bar for later. They also have a rooftop dining area and a full bar. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will return if ever in the area again.

Yelp
My go-to for avocado toast! I was introduced to this place by a friend of mine several months ago and I've been coming ever since. It's kind of a neat concept, as you go in and order first at the desk and are then given a number to sit where you'd like. Your drinks and food will be given to you afterwards. I love the food! I'd say the avocado toast is my go-to, namely because it's light but still very filling. I've also had the French toast and added sweet heat chicken, and that was a delight as well. All of their dishes are well proportioned, so I can assure you'll def. leave more full than hungry! My go-to cocktail is usually the airmail (not pictured) which is white rum, lime, honey, and Prosecco. Also, very light and refreshing. I've had a couple of the n/a cocktails and they were just as good! If you've got a sweet tooth, you're in luck! They have a wide array of cookies, pies, brownies, and whatever your heart fancies. I feel like this is one of those rare places where the staff is as awesome as the food! Every time I've come, they're always so friendly and kind. They def. take care of their customers, especially their regulars and always make me feel so welcome.

Yelp
An unassuming and cool place to meet up with friends or family for a beverage of choice and excellent farm to table comfort menu! Been here a few times and enjoyed their freshly prepared and tasty foods, Happy hour during the week starts at 4p. Smiling, friendly and attentive service team. Fast casual ordering at the host station, then all food and drink delivered to your table. Overall, solid 4.25+ experience for me; expect to spend $13-18 for a meal, drafts $9, and offers several shareable starters. Today we ordered a couple burgers and some cold brews. The Bacon fat fries are an up-charge vs. other sides, but they are SO tasty and good!! But you won't go wrong with Tots, Hand-cut fries or house-made chips. They smoke their own meats, and breads (and desserts) are all freshly baked. Their brunch menu ranges from specialty Egg dishes to creative sandwiches like the DLT (Duck-Lettuce-Tomato). Next time I plan to try their Duck Fried Rice. BD is a great place in Maplewood! ENJOY!!!

Yelp
Burger - 6.6/10 - a bit dry but not the worst burger I've had. Well cooked. Fries - 7.9/10 - good crisp, housemade ketchup a plus. Some skimpy fries holds them back from a 9+ Drinks - 8.0/10 - really good presentation, small portions but quite boozy. Some a little too boozy. Service - 10/10 - amazing service, no complaints. Above and beyond. Ambience - 6.8/10 - sat on first floor. Toddler at table next to us was a negative. Numbers on table bring down overall vibe. Rooftop patio looks cool, will have to check out next time Overall - 7.1/10 - solid spot overall, really good service and drinks. Excited to go back and see what the upstairs rooftop has to offer.

Yelp
My family and I took a short weekend trip to get away and take our kids to the St. Louis Zoo. After looking through several restaurant options we close The Blue Duck. Honestly, the menu looked great, but I'm a sucker for restaurants with weird names. The food was amazing! Highly recommend the bacon fat fries, made the regular fries taste amateur. I got the Eggs Beneduck, and it was delicious. The hollandaise was different from any I've had before. My wife had the Monte Cristo and it did not disappoint. She loved it and it was way more than she could eat. My daughter left her purse and we were two hours into our trip before she realized it. My wife called and talked to the manager and they agreed to ship it back to us, and never sounded like it was a burden but they were just glad to help! I will recommend this to everyone I can. Local and unique it was amazing.

Yelp
Arrived around 11am on Sunday for brunch and it wasn't super busy. If you arrive 11:45am or later, there was a long wait. Grab a menu when you arrive because you will order your food before you sit. I tried their brioche French toast. It was cooked nicely and tasted like traditional french toast. There is a small parking lot behind the building and street parking in front. This place has a full n vibe. Great service by the staff. Check out the piano on your way in.

Yelp
We just left and we're already talking about when we can go back again! The food was amazing! We went with the pork belly cheese fries, the Sam Elliott burger and the warm Tres Leche's bread pudding. It was all incredible!!! I have to say I was a little hesitant after reading reviews that you have to order at the front counter. I was worried that it would feel rushed or be only bar seating, but it's set up and felt more like a fast casual restaurant. You do order at the counter and they have lots of menus that you can look at and then you get a table number and the waiter brings your food to your table. Definitely save room for dessert or plan to take some home with you because it all looks so amazing. We still have some in a bag that we'll be trying later on. Also, they are open for brunch every day from 10am to 3 o'clock and dinner is from 3 to 9 PM. There are daily specials and when we arrived at 6 o'clock, the special for the day had already sold out and we were told it was a Reuben sandwich. Great service, the food came out very quickly and it was amazing. We were savoring every bite! If we could give more stars we would. Go! You will not be disappointed!!
