Had lunch here with family on a Sunday - there was no one other than another couple and we love the peach and quiet at the marina. Feels like a picnic. The food is decent, not fantastic and not bad. We had the mixed platter, clam chowder and fish salad. People working in the food truck were very nice. There;s not a lot of foot traffic on the weekend - hope they survive long enough. Will return.

It’s a food truck. But the grilled fish tacos (3 per plate) were real good. With some shredded cabbage, Pico De Gallo, and a tasty aioli sauce. Also ordered the Ceviche. That was real good as well, and the portion was large. They offer corn tortillas so that’s helpful if you are gluten free. But most of their other foods are deep fried. The Tacos were $20, the Ceviche was $20. I felt it was a fair value for 2025.

I was just here today (6/14/2024) and it was a wonderful experience. I came with family, some local, and others out of state. I had the mixed platter and the clam chowder, my son had the calamari, my mom had the fish sandwich, and my aunt had the fish tacos. All of the food was fresh and delicious. In addition, their lemonade was freshly squeezed. They had some oldies playing (songs from my mom’s generation) and it was on point. Had a view of the water and will try to be back during my California vacation.

Food is so fresh, delicious and tastes better outside. What a unique seafood truck and a hidden gem. Every time we come here it’s a tranquil experience. The service is fast and the ambiance is surreal. Enjoy the bay at its finest!

Google
Based on the rave reviews, wanted to give the fish and chips a shot. The service was great and friendly, and it was nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view. But the fish was just ok, batter was thick and not very crispy. Maybe will give it a 2nd shot, but so far, not so good.

Google
One of the best fish and chips I ever had. Loved the seasoning on the fries. Batter nice and thin.

Google
The fish n chips were so-so and the tartar sauce was pretty bad. Then of course they said they had no mixed fried platter and no clam chowder being the only thing they had was the fish n chips at 3oclock in the afternoon. Will not be returning.

We were so excited to see a highly rated five-star review for a local Fish and Chip place near where we live. We love our fish and chips, and anytime we travel to a new location if fish and chips are on the menu, it is our job to make sure we try them LOL. So, you can see, the excitement of how much we looked forward to trying out a new place. The location on the water was very nice and relaxing. As someone else mentioned, the music could have been a little quieter. First off, the good news was the fish in the fish and chips, as well as the fish in my wife’s fish tacos, was very fresh. That is where the good part ends. While the fish and chips had very fresh fish, the coating on the outside was like a cornmeal coating. That made it soft and soggy, not the soft and soggy that comes from oil that is not hot enough, but just a different type of batter. Not a batter I have ever seen on fish and chips. Separately, the tartar sauce had nothing resembling what a real tartar sauce is. Tartar sauce has dill, dill pickles, and vibrancy that adds and complements fish tacos or fish and chips. Not sure what this was, but kind of sweet, and icky tasting. Again, the fish was fresh, which is a very good part. But at the end of our meal, sadly, we both threw both of our entire $47.56 meal away. I would give it 1 star, but since the fish was very fresh, I added a star.

Yelp
Hands down the best grilled fish tacos on the peninsula. Fresh ingredients, generous portions--you get three large tacos that are both satisfying and light enough to feel like a healthy choice. The truck is parked along the marina in Redwood City, which makes the pickup spot even better. It's made to order, so if you walk up to the truck expect about 10 minutes. I usually order online and pick up, which makes it super easy. Fast, tasty, and consistent. This has become one of my go‑to staples for a casual meal that's healthy, flavorful, and always worth it. I kinda want some right now!

Yelp
I've had this food truck bookmarked for years! So glad that I finally got around to trying it. Parking in the Redwood City Marina area on a weekend was plentiful and the ambience really enhanced our experience: warm peninsula weather coupled with a great bay/water/pier view accompanied our meal perfectly! There wasn't a line and the food prep took about 10 minutes. Plenty of dockside public seating to be found and take in the views while we waited. We ordered the Mix Fried Platter and were pleasantly surprised by how much food was stacked in the box! Everything seemed to have been made fresh to order. By far, the winner of the platter had to be the shrimp. Lightly battered and decently sized/plump. The calamari was also pretty good as well! Wouldn't hesitate to come back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
If you're looking to eat some delicious fried seafood with a beautiful view of the bay, definitely check this spot out. It's a little out of the way unless you're working in the area or sailing your boat, but it's worth it. We came on a Sunday and spotted the yellow food truck along the water in parking lot. We ordered the mixed fried platter for $22, which came with 3 pc fried shrimp, calamari, and 2 of pc fried fish, french fries, coleslaw, and lots of sauces (ketchup, cocktail sauce, sriracha mayo). The food came out within 5-10 minutes and the service was friendly. Some of the seafood tasted more freshly fried than others. However, the shrimp was my favorite... lightly battered and piping hot. The fish was good, but not as fresh and flaky as I've had at other places. There are plenty of outdoor picnic tables and spots to eat. It was the perfect sunny day to sit, relax, and enjoy the view of the beautiful bay. It was the most relaxed I've felt in a while!

Yelp
4.5/5 so rounded up to 5. Visited this spot during PortFest. Very unassuming truck. There was a short line but service was super fast. We split a shrimp quesadilla (huge) and got a watermelon and pineapple agua Fresca. Shrimp quesadilla 5/5 The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and tasted so delicious with the melted cheese and green salsa. Wish there was slightly more shrimp though. I'll be back for another for sure as it was just very tasty! Agua frescas 4/5 These were tasty but $7 each made them pretty pricey. There's also no ice included so it doesn't taste as good and refreshing as it could be. Overall, I wanna try more things as their portions are huge and good is tasty!!

Yelp
About 4.5 stars. This place is the port of Redwood City Marina on Seaport Court off Seaport Boulevard. The trailer front faces the water; so when you get to the parking lot all you'll see is the bright yellow backside of the truck. There's no signage on the back side btw. My bestie stopped in for the fish & shrimp plate. Came with a tartar, ketchup, cocktail, some kinda mayo sauce, and another sauce with a slight kick but it was not hot though. Portion's BIIIIG easily split between two or for a really hungie person. Shrimp's slightly sweet, fish is (I think) cod, both with light breading. Calamari's the same no thick, heavy coating. Fries are just okay, nothing special he said. Coleslaw's nice, not soggy froggy or drowned in mayo. About $25 ishhhh with tax, I forget tho. The service was hella quick, no line when we went. There are benches and tables nearby with a view of the water if you want to hang out. We totally forgot to ask about malt vinegar gosh dang it, i would've been nice with the fish.Overall, light, pleasant, and I'd go back to try more stuff.

Yelp
The fish tacos were ok. Fresh but the salsa was packet of tapitio hot. The chef was rude. Maybe busy but seemed bothered.

Donna C.

Yelp
Love this fish truck. Fish tacos are fresh and flavorful. Also appreciate the clam chowder , thick New England style.

Yelp
As I was placing my order I got a glimpse of the employees hands. His fingernails were black with dirt underneath, he had open sores on his fingers and dried crusted batter all over them. I watched him prepare my meal without washing his hands or wearing gloves, and he stuck his thumb directly into the batter. I threw the whole meal directly into the trash.

Yelp
People, I can't begin to tell you how impressed I was by the plate I received from Blue Fish Kitchen, generous portions, all the condiments, and fresh lemon slices, without asking. The Mixed fried platter with fish, shrimp, calamari and fries was fire! I am a fan for sure, all love, to you guys, see you soon. Key Lewis

Yelp
It was a Wednesday and I initially was craving for zucchini fries , searched Yelp and this restaurant food truck showed up on my list. I ended up ordering the fish sandwich with zucchini fries and I am so glad I did. WOW, I was taken back by the enormous amount of food they give. It's two slices of delicious toasted sourdough bread with lettuce and tomato , enough to be a mini salad, and two oversized fish battered sticks. I started off with the battered fish, and since the portions are huge I struggled to eat it as a sandwich so I just was deconstructing the sandwich as I ate. The batter is amazing and crispy, fish is flaky and fresh, the sauce spread in the sandwich is really good, the kicker is the tarter sauce with the yummy zucchini fries and there was a generous amount of zucchini fries. I'm gonna say this again the tartar sauce is HELLA good. The portions IMO is enough to feed three people. I gave up 1/3 of the food and just as I thought it was soo much food I lifted the bread slice , low and behold there was a huge pile of coleslaw hiding beneath all this giant sandwich. LOL. I am soo impressed worth beyond the $19, did not disappoint ! it was so damn good!! Both chefs were very kind too with great service and clean all around. Location is next to the port and it was a nice a sunny day! FTW.

Yelp
OK ,but fillets are thicker than I like ,more geared toward a fish taco than fish and chips. Fries are nice. Burgers are large and dried out ,so skip them. Limited hours and days. (Thursday ( 11 AM to 2 PM) I would call to verify hours.

Yelp
Delicious tacos by a cute truck. We enjoyed the fresh grilled fish and how the sauce combines all the favors. Tortilla chips also taste warm and homey. I would love to see more grilled items on the menu, maybe a la carte or a plate? The serving appears stingy however for a $17 high price point, and I don't feel motivated to go back for this pricing, maybe unless a happy hour is set up. I was also interested in the zucchini sticks, but $12 sounds absurd. Single layer of tortillas didn't hold the content well. Double layers will make for more solid tacos and better presentation. Would also be great to have more chips and salsa on the side.

Yelp
We got the shrimp quesadilla and a churro this past Saturday, while enjoying live 80's music at Rock the Dock in Redwood City. This is the only food truck I've ever seen at this event, so I am glad that their dishes and desserts are freshly made and tasty, even if a bit pricey. Both of our items were quite satisfying. They never seem to have a long line or wait, and service is standard, though the worker this past weekend was a little stingy with the plastic utensils. After we started eating, I came back to the truck and asked for a fork, he said it was at the bottom of the plastic bag for my order. I checked twice in the bag, inside the food container, and around our seating area to see if we dropped it or perhaps it flew away. Came back and he still didn't give me a fork, so yeah had to just use my hands for the sides and stuff. Strange that they can't spare one plastic fork, especially with the high prices they charge here and the fact that I asked politely. But the food's pretty good regardless, so I still gave them 3 stars.

Yelp
Local fish. Great fish and shrimp tacos. This is a yellow unmarked food trailer near Spinnaker Sailing next to the water.

Raelene H.

Yelp
Really wanted fish and chips and this place has such complimentary reviews - had to give it a try. Now. I have no idea why. Service was nice. After i finally found the place. And f you aren't familiar you can just circle the parking lot trying to find a sign. No signs at all to help. I saw a big yellow trailer on a regular truck. Guessed it might be it. It was. So weird no signage facing the parking lot. Order came out super quick. Nice. Huge portion. Tried the fish with their bizarre and definitely not classic tartar sauce. Ew. Tried the fish with malt vinegar. That helped. Still not great. Tried squeezing lemon all over it. A little better. It's not inexpensive so I kept trying. Tried a French fry dry. Ew. Tried one with a lot of ketchup. Better. Tried the Cole slaw. Boring. Basically. They must need to change their oil. The sweet unctuous smell you catch when you walk up is all you can taste in the fish and chips. The nice light fish is overwhelmed by the sweet sort of smell and taste of the breading. That said. The fish really was well cooked, moist and flaky. I threw almost everything away and came home to find something for lunch. I can still smell the fish and chips. Ew

Laura J.

Yelp
Loved being able to try this place on a quiet weekend. Sat down and soaked up the bit of Sun awhile our order was up. Got a lot more of the fried zucchini than we expected and were pleasantly surprised. The fish and chips had a good light batter that tasted fresh.

Yelp
Dropped by The Blue Fish Kitchen this past weekend to get a bite to eat while my fiancé fished. There are so many goodies on this menu that it's hard to decide which ones to get! I ended up getting the clam chowder and the mixed fried platter. The clam chowder is piping hot which I absolutely appreciated! The texture is nice and thick and it's full of clams and potatoes. We both really enjoyed dipping the bread and fries in the chowder. The fried mix plate was good as well. It comes with fried calamari, fried fish, fried shrimp, and fries. While the proteins themselves were good, the batter was a bit thin so if you dipped it into the sauces they provide, the batter would come off. I also wish it was a bit crispier so you could get a nice crunch when you bit into it. My favorite was the fried shrimp and calamari though! Even though the batter came off, the shrimp and calamari were cooked well and not over done. Overall, i'll definitely be back again if we come back to the area to fish. The clam chowder hits the spot on a cloudy day!

Yelp
I love this food truck and I admire their optimism and tenacity for being open Monday to Friday when there isn't as much foot traffic. I had fish tacos today and the young who served me was polite and friendly. The food was tasty and the view of the port was peaceful and beautiful.

Yelp
I work at the Google office, and was looking around the area for food, and luckily fell on this hidden gem. Great customer service to match the quality of food, and location! They also play music to set a total relaxed vibe by the water. My new hot spot for sure.

Yelp
Perfect way to stay within the area and enjoy the great ambienté, live music will begin April 2nd 2023

Yelp
Simply the best fish tacos that we've ever had! We look forward to the fish tacos just as much as we do hearing the band at the Port of Redwood City. Friends have gotten ceviche and cheeseburgers and everything got rave reviews. Miguel knows me by now. When he greets me, he says, "the usual?" :)
google avatar

Yelp
wonderful food, staff and ambiance! don't miss out on their food and the kitchen is right on the marina dock so it's gorgeous views
google avatar

Yelp
Overpriced for what it was . Platter came with 2-3 shrimp. Definitely not enough. Shrimp batter was good. This was one of the few redeeming qualities. The tacos were not great .

Yelp
I was looking for some Seafood options in the area to eat on Fridays for the Lent Season and I happen to come across The Blue Fish Kitchen on Yelp. I work in Redwood Shores twice a week so it was a quick drive down the 101 to get this spot. Boy talk about a hidden gem, I first ordered a Mixed Fried Platter, the portions were extremely generous and the Fish, Shrimp, Calamari and fries was outstanding. Angel gives you a variety of sauces for the platter which were all delicious. I went back again another Friday and had the Fish Tacos and Clam Chowder. The Fish Tacos and Chowder was just as delicious as the Mixed Platter, It will be tough to decide what to eat since I really enjoyed all those menu items, but I'll be sure to try out the rest of the menu. Since the serving sizes are pretty big if you come here with a group try and order different dishes to share family style so you get a bit of everything, you will not be disappointed. Angel is an outstanding chef and great guy, good music to listen to as well while you eat. I'll will make this one of my weekly lunch spots when I come into the office. Definitely one of Redwood City/Shores best kept secret seafood spots.

Yelp
We heard about this food truck in an article about the Redwood City Harbor. My boyfriend wanted to try the fish tacos and after amazing fish tacos on Maui, I was eager to see how they compared. We were not disappointed! The fish tacos were outstanding. Very fresh, flaky white fish and other fun ingredients in the soft taco. They have music playing and there are tables to sit and view the water while you eat this delicious food. We will be back!

Yelp
Great fresh fish tacos and fish and chips and very good service located at the dock so easy parking too.

Yelp
What an awesome find on the water for fresh fried fish and seafood. The 3 of us all enjoyed our meals. The fish was perfectly cooked and the homemade sauces were fantastic. The close by picnic tables were the perfect spot to enjoy our lunch in the shade.

Feli Y.

Yelp
I'm very criticizing of my fish , especially fried fish but this spot was so yummy and the sauces were sooo good. Definitely recommending and coming back

Yelp
Wow, what an unexpected treat. These were the best fish tacos I've ever encountered. Loaded fully with deliciously seasoned perfectly cooked fresh fish, and some amazing chips. The Blue Fish kitchen is a GEM.

Loree S.

Yelp
Came to hear Red Vinyl perform and the food truck was there. I had the fish and chips and it was perfection. The fish was so fresh and crispy And delicious. Served hot. Not oily at all. I was pleasantly surprised. Try them they're worth it
