Walked in to pregame for a birthday dinner down the street. Grabbed some beers and nachos and the atmosphere, music, food and customer service is stellar. The bartenders and all the staff are friendly and helpful. We had a great time and look forward to coming back for more Jell-O shots!

Francisco is an amazing bartender at Blue Light!! He is there during Happy Hour and always makes sure your drinks are full and you have everything you need!! He even tells you about the specials for the day! Like on Wednesday they have 2 for 1 whiskey all night and wings Wednesday for 50 cents each! You can get a drink and 10 wings for under $15!!! Where else can you get that???

10/10 amazing establishment, staff always go above and beyond taking care of myself girlfriend and myself making it more than enjoyable, as well as great service very quick and easy making sure I can enjoy myself without the hassle of waiting ! Jaxon does exceptionally great at his job and is a stand out for me, makes this feel like more than a stop and much more as a great experience every time. Once again always 10/10

Great service any day of the week. I've come here on both weekdays after work with Francisco at the bar and on weekends, both times they're as quick as possible to not make you wait and tell you about the available deals. For reasonably priced drinks, everything you could ask for. Definitely come for the deals on wings Wednesday and taco Tuesday with Francisco

Love the piña colada here! Jax was a great server! My phone was about to die and he let me charge it while waiting for my uber. Definitely recommend!

It's always a great time here with friends! I end up coming to this bar a lot during the holiday season, and I'm always impressed with their joyous and bright decorations. The drinks here are decently priced, and the staff is always so friendly.

I'm updating my past review because Blue Light has really stepped up its bar game. It's never overly crowded on an early Friday, and it has a true local vibe. They offer great happy hour and weeknight deals, plus live music every Friday at 6, followed by bingo--such a fun combo whether you're with friends or flying solo. We met people easily and that added to the fun night. Also, they have a parklet. The food hits the spot, too. They've got all the comforting bar staples like nachos and tots, but the real surprise is how good the burritos and tacos are. The tacos alone are worth coming back for! The Friday band we saw definitely deserves to be a regular. Overall, it's a friendly, welcoming neighborhood spot that keeps getting better. It wasn't overly crowded on an early Friday, and it has a local neighborhood vibe. It's been a while since I was a regular at the Blue Light, but I can tell that the charm is still in tact. Back in the early aughts, my buddy and I would partake in the taco Tuesday festivities with regularity. This was no gimmick, we'd actually be full after 3-4 tacos (and 3-4 drinks). I'm not sure who owns the place now, but the Owner Lance always looked out for / took care of us when we were there. The food is surprisingly good for dive bar, but given then competition in the neighborhood, anything to stand out is almost a necessity. I've tried nearly every item on the menu over the years and every item comes out perfectly to order. The service is great, and the long-time employees really get to know the regulars. If there were a real-life "Cheers" bar in the Marina, this is it. Whether you come with a group or solo, the place and the people are welcoming. Come on over to watch a sports match, play some pool or an after work cocktail, you'll be impressed!

We visited this bar on a Sunday evening, and the setting was clean and simple, with blue lighting everywhere of course. I loved that the place wasn't crowded when we came by. There are plenty of TVs throughout, good for watching sports. We got the ginger snap, mango margarita, and peach fuzz. But actually, they were out of some drinks on the menu, so the bartender made decent variations of these, no problem. We enjoyed our cocktails, and the friendly service by staff added to a positive experience overall.

Had fun playing bingo for happy hour. The emcee of the bingo was funny with her jokes. My friend won two rounds and got two Jell-O shots and then a lemon drop. For apps we tried the nachos, tator tots and waffle fries. Not bad for bar food. Friends enjoyed their mango margarita and pina colata slush that came with a Jell-O shot. The slushes were a bit small. Staff are friendly but service was slow and we waited a long time for food. When the bill came we got charged an extra beer but they fixed it promptly when we mentioned it. Overall a chill bar spot to hang out with friends.

I wandered in here to watch the Eagles game last weekend and was happy I did. Sadly none of my friends watch sports and my usual routine of watching with my Dad was out of the cards for that day - so I was looking for a somewhat lively spot to root for the Birds. Being a solo woman at the bar can sometimes not be the most fun, but the bartenders were really nice. They had multiple non-alch options which is always exciting for me and they were affordable too. As a huge sports fan it can be hard to find a place where I feel comfortable solo but I would definitely go back here. I was entertained just eavesdropping and appreciated the characters that seem to wind up there!

Highly recommend trivia night on Thursday nights !!! Get a marg at the bar and grab a slice of pizza next door!

Such a fun time! The service was elite, Jax took care of us and made it feel like we were at home, so as I came here! Drinks were delicious with heavy pours, and food was delicious!

Tuesday Tacos at the Blue Light was an awesome experience. Always great to see Francisco, the bartender. The carne asado tacos were a real winner, as well as the flautas and empanadas. I recommend coming here on Tuesdays!

I was gonna go here with my friends but the bar keep said they don't take inkind and the kitchen was closing as well, yet the hours listed was midnight and it was only 9pmish. Weird. So, went to another restaurant for a meal.

Very disappointed in my experience with Blue Light on New Years Eve. My party of 40 had reserved a space with Johnny two weeks in advance, who assured us we would have a great time and could invite any number of guests. I know now this was just a tactic to get as many people to come to his bar. Our reservation began at 9, but when we arrived the bar was already packed to the brim with a massive line going down the block, which was expected for New Years Eve and why we reserved a space. When we first approached the bouncers letting them know we had a reserved space, they VERY rudely told us to get out of the way. It took somebody calling Johnny directly to allow us to come inside to find a reserved space for probably about 15 people to safely stand, right on top of the DJ. After trying to ask the bouncers how others in our party would be able to get in, I was ignored over and over until finally one of the bouncers turned around and screamed in my face that he heard me and to stop asking, still refusing to answer my question. I continued to ask, and the other bouncer put his hands on my shoulder and yelled "We got it, go away!" They still did not allow our party to enter the bar and were consistently rude to all my friends attempting to find us inside. This caused us to have to leave the establishment. Do not recommend having your parties at Blue Light.

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!! Came to this bar recently with a group of friends, and when we arrived, a couple of our friends were saving space. They had ordered 3 things (2 food, 1 drink) and were waiting for their food to be delivered. As we stood at the bar buying our drinks (it was NOT crowded), our friend came up to us and asked if we had closed his tab (?). We were surprised he asked because we had only been in the bar for 3 minutes, and had done nothing more than drop off our jackets at the table and say hello, and he SAW THIS. Turns out that in the 10 minutes they were in the bar, the bartender (or somebody) had not only closed their tab (?) by FORGING THEIR SIGNATURE (just a scribble bearing no similarity to their actual sig) but had added a $15 tip to a $30 tab! Their posted policy is that if you leave your card overnight you get 20% added, but this was a 50% tip added in under 10 minutes. WTAF?? Obviously we had it taken care of, but there were a number of other discrepancies/weirdnesses throughout the evening. The bartender was completely scattered and not paying attention at all (he asked us for our drink orders multiple times, and kept bringing food to the table that wasn't ours), and in fact made a hot toddy for one of our group, and when the "lid fell off" and almost the entire container of cloves fell into the drink, instead of making another, he instead served it to my friend and expected him to drink it. Again, the bar was NOT CROWDED (we were a group of 10 and there were probably 7 or 8 other people in the entire bar for the 2 hours we were there), so really no reason for the distracted service. See pics for drink as served and the # of cloves in said drink. Now mind you, a hot toddy is usually served with a lemon wedge with a couple of pieces of cloves in the wedge, not a quarter cup of cloves filling the bottom. The only reason we didn't give a one star review for this is because the food was pretty freaking good (fish tacos--YUM and CHEAP!!) and where else on planet earth can you still get a $3 draft beer?? One star for food, one star for beer, three stars off for service/shadiness.

Very special thanks to Blue light for hosting my birthday party! Came in here with about 20 to 30 people for the appetizer party. They sat us in the back near the pool table I would like to say great quality food and the service was amazing. They were very attentive, and , considering the size of the group did a great job keeping up with drinks and food. Special thanks the staff and the owner John for helping organize the event.

Who knew there was a Dolphins bar in SF! Fins up! Had we known, we would have started here. Very friendly staff! Full bar, 15 beers on tap. Plus slushies like the Wet Woody! Yum! Definitely coming back here!

There was an awfully critical review posted that hardly describes the nature of real or reasonable issue. Being upset because of the lack of patrons on the day and at the time that this customer visited and the condition of a fish tank is hardly a convincing argument to have left such an offensive comment. I have not been to this place before however now it has become a future destination for me and as often as possible. The response from the restaurant speaks volumes as the there being no defensive comments at all. Simply thanking this upset customer for their visit and wishing them well in their endeavors. Hardly seems like response from a place that would require explanation for their environment. I'm calling bullshit site unseen and urge others to form their own opinions.

This place is SOOOOOOO racist... They refuse to play bad bunny .... Like not even one song... ... I was threatened with security for simply asking for 1 song ... idk about yall but I think that's insane ... I understand not being able to take everyone's request but the bartenders said it was fine ...

I always have a great time at blue light! Came here for Thursday night trivia. So fun! Split the el Rey burrito with my friend and had some delicious margaritas with it. Kitchen brought us out some free churros too. All the staff here are super friendly and personable.

Fabulous experience here. The food - mission AND the marina burrito - was delicious. Awesome chips too! Not the most packed place on a Saturday but bartender and chef were super kind.

Service is amazing- you walk in and you feel as if you've known them forever. The staff here make you feel so welcomed. The patio ambiance on a weekend morning with the music going is top notch, absolute perfection. Their weekend brunch menu is delicious! I swear by their aguachiles tostada and their chilaquiles with burrata. The spice levels keep you on your toes but you're always left wanting more than just one bite. They recently teamed up with TOMA in the beginning of 2023, and TOMA's food with Blue Light's drinks are a match made in the Marina! I definitely recommend this place for after work happy hours, weekend brunch shenanigans and everything else in between!

I had the best time here yesterday! My friends and I came for the free appetizer party, the kitchen had closed but the bartender Jackson went and bought us pizza to make up for it. We had the Sun Rita punch bowl and it was awesome. Definitely recommend!

Hate to say it, but checked in again while we were in town and this is still a zero star review. Not sure who keeps this place in business; it was dead when we grabbed a beer. Slow and the place was grimy.

I came here on New Year's Eve for a pub crawl event. We were given wristbands and The Blue Light was one of 3 locations we were able to go to. I took advantage of the $1 Jell-O shots and got cheap beer! I really liked the cauliflower "wings", I never had a such thing before. It was breaded along with hot buffalo wing sauce. Service was friendly.

Amazing customer service, allowed for smooth time and amazing great setting. I appreciate the bouncers for having great energy.

We came here for the all you can eat tacos and cheap beer on Tuesdays. Beers are $2 for your standard drafts and the tacos are $30 for as much as you want in 60 minutes. It's from 5-6:30pm. I thought the tacos would be much smaller, but they were heavily loaded and making the challenge even greater. The price point is 9-10 tacos to make it a "deal" which is tough, but doable. The tacos are great, like great street tacos.. but I'm way too full now. Next time I'm going to get the Birria tacos and margaritas, which is still a phenomenal happy hour deal.

I have never felt more welcome and at home. The Blue light is not just a bar, it has great food too! The energy is always great! Emily (the bartender) is an amazing mixologist with a great personality. She always go's the extra mile. The food is amazing as well, great prices and I never leave hungry. I would never go anywhere else now that I have gone here.

Blue light has good food and vibes, door guy Gabriel set the vibe to make it lit. So much fun we'll be back.
