I stopped by Board and Brew with my partner because we love board game cafes; we love this as a date option and a way to try a bunch of different games we've been wanting to try or have heard of with no commitment of buying.
We didn't have a formal meal, but got a ton of snacks while we were here. We shared a coffee milkshake (they use Scoop DeVille ice cream, a local franchise), fries, and the 'bread basket' option (we picked coffee cake, banana bread, and apple cinnamon). It was kind of funny, the breads were all different levels of moist - from most to least, it was the banana, apple, then coffee. They were good, but this was the one small thing I would ding the cafe on food-wise, was just the bread being not a consistent quality. The fries were out of this world though, so crispy and crunchy and just amazing, I would've ordered a second one if I didn't have any self control. We also enjoyed our milkshake.
This game cafe is particularly inexpensive - only $2.50 to play a game! That being said, even though other game cafes in the city will charge you a little more, but with that charge comes instructions and staff engagement. We've been to another gaming cafe in the city where the staff will demo a game for you and help you set it up. That's really useful, whereas here you may have to spend a good amount of time just setting up a game and learning how to play it.
The space upstairs is cozy, and decently spacious, and the game selection wasn't too bad at all, we liked that they were divvied up into different categories (co-op, competitive, etc). We played a few different ones and spent a long amount of time and definitely got more than our money's worth.
I would for sure recommend it overall! And no worries if you're not in the mood for games, you can always just hang out in the regular seating area of the cafe downstairs. They have a small side section by the register as well where you can purchase some games.
