"This Newport spa is like a modern-day version of an ancient Roman bath house. The founders took the ocean as their inspiration for the treatment menu and the decor (lots of turquoise), offering hydrotherapy treatments alongside facials and massages. Wellness enthusiasts should try their six-step, circulation-boosting water journey treatment where you experience water in every form: salt-filled, hot, cold, and steamy."

Don’t be put off by the limited availability—it’s a testament to the incredible facility and outstanding service at Bodhi Spa. The place is extremely clean, and the staff is simply wonderful. I was impressed right from the start: the robe and slippers provided are great, and the lockers are the easiest to use—easily outperforming those at larger spas like Bota Bota in Montreal and Balian Springs in Alexandria. The only downside during my visit was that I wasn’t scheduled for the water circuit. After changing in my cozy robe, I had to wait in the lobby for the esthetician—a slight hiccup that took away from an otherwise fantastic experience that began in the locker area. Luckily the reception area was very busy and had no available seating. The staff kindly escorted me into the water circuit to wait until they were ready. That gesture was amazing, and I believe this waiting area should be the standard for all customers. One more note: I didn’t receive a survey after my service, which would have been a great opportunity to give kudos to the staff for their exceptional work. Overall, Bodhi Spa is a gem in Newport and I can’t wait to go back!

The water experience was amazing! The staff are very informative and welcoming! Nancy is the sweetest and helped us out so much! Gabriella explained everything so well! The full experience is definitely worth it but you can get the entire vibe from The express. The spa is very clean and staff are constantly checking to make sure everything is running smoothly. Thank you everyone for making this such an amazing experience!

I had heard wonderful things about the Bodhi Spa Newport and got a gift certificate from my husband for Christmas. I got pregnant shortly after Christmas, so I had to wait until I was past the first trimester until I could use it - hardest wait! I had a Custom Organic Facial with Patricia and a Prenatal Massage with Bill. From the jump, the place when you walk in is calm, serene, inviting. The staff couldn’t be nicer. Everything is clean and well-kept. I changed into my robe and slippers and then met with Patricia for my facial. The facial was wonderful, very relaxing. All the products she used felt great on my skin, and she gave a great scalp massage! As a disclaimer, I’ve never received a prenatal massage prior to this, so I have no experience with them. I am used to deep-tissue, muscle tension release- type massages as I work as a nurse in the hospital and frequently need work done for aches and pains that come with 12 hour shifts. I found the prenatal massage to be decent. Definitely relaxing and worth the time, but didn’t feel like there was a lot of real “deep” massage. Just kind of rubbing oil on the skin and very light pressure. I wish it was a little more pressure, but like I said, maybe this is just because a prenatal massage is not what I’m used to. Bill was very nice and accommodating, asking me if I was comfortable, etc. I am so bummed I couldn’t do the water journey due to pregnancy, but once this baby is out I will be back to indulge in it!! Thank you Bodhi Spa!

Google
We loved it! Every detail was great. It was so relaxing. Hot tubs, steam room, 3 different saunas! I didn’t get too many pictures, because camera not allowed inside the water journey room. It was easy to walk to from the area with many shops and restaurants. My only complaint was how far in advance I needed to book the reservation. I wish there were more appointments available. Our appointment was 2 1/2 hours and I think I would’ve been happy with a shorter one if it was available, even 1 hour would be fine. And please Bodhi spa, expand to more locations!! How about Medford, MA? 😀

Had the best massage today with Allison! I’ve been to this spa a few times for the water journey which I love! Allison was great she listened, focused on what I needed and made me feel comfortable. My only regret is that I didn’t book the 90 minutes but that just means I’ll have to visit again soon😊

Sharon Segatore is the best massage therapist I have ever had in my entire life. Her Swedish massage took months of pain and stress away. Don't let her leave. Wish I knew if we could use the water therapy, but check-in was not very clear. Wish the spa had a relaxation lounge that was larger than the small space in the lobby.

I’d like to preface this, that although my original experience was subpar, upper management did go above and beyond to rectify it. I received a deep tissue massage and it was not a good massage, one of the worst I’ve personally had which was not the experience I had the last time I visited (quite the opposite). Afterwards, I was told that the individual was newer to the team, so hopefully there is room for improvement. What I was more frustrated about was my card being charged without my consent (I had a gift card). At the time the women running the front desk (who was also newer) charged it by accident and due to permissions was unable to refund me. She told me that a manager would fix the mistake by the end of the day and it should take a few days for the charge to correct itself on my end and took down the gift card number by pen and paper. A week went by, and the charge was not refunded, I was disappointed by this and immediately called to speak to a manager. Nancy a manager called me the following day and apologized profusely about what had happened and fully refunded me for the service, which was incredibly kind and I really appreciated it. Despite not have a wonderful experience I am happy they went above and beyond. Nancy did ask me if I would take down my original review, which I agreed to but changed it from 1 star to 4 simply because they did rectify the issues and were super genuine but I think it’s important to keep what happened here for transparency.

Yelp
The 8pm slot for the water experience is amazing! Clean, aromatic, relaxing, easy to follow recommended experiences. A little high on the chlorine in the hottest bath.

Yelp
LOVE!! Spent my bday doing the water journey from 8-9 since it's a good price... we ended up having the place to ourselves which made my bday that much more special! The outside garden to the super hot sauna and not to mention my favorite part... the cold plung! Amazing! The staff was super sweet and attentive!! We will def be going back and I'll be bringing all my friends!! Highly recommend.

Yelp
My mother and I went to celebrate Mother's Day. It was a very relaxing experience and not too busy. We both realized we are wimps, barely being able to tolerate the cold plunge pool. It was a beautiful day, so we really enjoyed the outdoor area in the back...there were even some bunnies hopping around while we hung out! Very serene setting!

Yelp
The pools, saunas and steam room are all great. They keep a nice quiet environment and provide plenty of lemon water to drink and cool lavender towels as needed. The only downside of the experience is the coming and going. The locker room is just too small for more than 4 or 5 women at a time, especially people who don't know each other and are trying to have a relaxing time focused on self care. There are only 2 toilets, 2 sinks (with one mirror) and 3 showers - yet 10 of us were all trying to shower and do our hair etc at the exact same time after the water journey. There were lots of awkward exchanges trying to get to the amenities and open lockers that were on top of each other. It really took me out of my peaceful vibe and was a bummer way to end the spa time. If they staggered the start and stop times the experience would be way more pleasant.

Yelp
I went for the upper body massage, thought it was great! Wish I went for longer, the time flies. Rob did a great job. Ambiance of the place is also very relaxing. Staff is very friendly.

Yelp
Huge turnover in Masssge therapists. My two favorites are gone with no Explanation. I requested her and when my appointment day came they gave me another therapists who did not meet my expectations.

Yelp
Just magical! The water journey is such a fantastic and unique experience. My husband and I loved all of the options with the different temperature hot/cold pools, sauna, and steam rooms. With so many spots and the indoor/outdoor option, no one area ever felt too crowded. Truly such a luxurious treat for 2 1/2 hours. Our afternoon ended perfectly with a massage before going out for dinner.

Yelp
A lovely, calm space. Service here is top-notch and worth every penny. You're treated like royalty as soon as you walk in. Their facials are such a treat. Massages are lovely. Little perks like robes, sandals, cucumber water, and fresh towels in the bathroom make this spot stand out from the rest. I wish I could live here.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I did the water journey this evening. This was our 3rd time to the Newport location, and we have also been to Providence 3-4 times. Unfortunately tonight after asking the staff 3 separate times to help us tell the other patrons of the water journey to keep their conversations to a whisper, no staff ever came to help and we were unable to relax this evening. This is especially unfortunate due to the cost of the service and the long wait it takes to get in to the spa. While this is the first time we have had a negative experience, we will try again another time.

Yelp
Relaxation at its finest!! My boyfriend and I went to the Bodhi Spa in Newport for a couples massage and water journey. Both of our massages were amazing! Both massage therapists Jayne and Rob did a great job relaxing our muscles and making us feel very comfortable. I get massages once a month and have been to some great spas but my massage at the Bodhi Spa has been one of the best I have had! After having all my muscles relaxed and the knots worked out we headed in for the Water Journey. I would recommend the Water Journey to anyone, even if you don't like massages you can go just for the water therapy part. My boyfriend and I had the place to ourselves for the first 30 min and then other people stared coming in. Even with a few other people there the space was not crowded at all and you could still get to all the pools and saunas and it stayed quiet. They let you take your time in the water therapy area, we spent a little over 2 hours there. The sauna in the Zen garden was amazing and I loved being able to go out and enjoy the zen garden area! The spa was clean, quiet and the staff was very nice and accommodating. I would recommend this spa to anyone looking for a relaxing day

Yelp
Talia was so knowledgeable and helpful! Thank you for all that you do! Great person to have manage the water journey for sure!

Yelp
One of the highlights of our Newport, RI trip was when my husband booked us days ahead for 2 and a half hours of 'Water Journey' which is essentially hydrotherapy, at the Bodhi Spa. I appreciated the booking process via text, intake forms 24 hours ahead of the appointment and the temperature checks, reinforcement of masks before and during the process (we also bought the ones best suited/wet suit material for $5 each on site) and the brief walk through with the water attendant. The facility in itself isn't huge but is a good efficient use of space, pretty clean as well On to our water journey! So hydrotherapy is basically the process of stimulating your circulatory system by alternating in hot and very cold water (55 degrees Fahrenheit or 12.7 degrees Celsius!) to detoxify and bring you complete rejuvenation. At first I was terrified of trying the cold water but in the end I was able to complete 5 cycles of the recommended water journey! I felt so proud and my body was practically thanking me for braving it! You basically alternate from hot and cold. We alternated from the Therapeutic 104 Epsom Salt Pool, Mineral Rich 98 Dead Sea Salt Pool, Stimulating 55 Cold Plunge Pool, Detoxifying Infrared Sauna, Eucalyptus Steam Room and the Traditional Finnish Sauna. I would try to last at least 30 seconds in the cold plunge pool and I'd literally be shaking but I survived! And did this 5 times! So proud haha! Overall so happy and grateful that we got to experience this in one of New England's best spas! Thankful that they were so strict, clean, and literally allowed only 4 people in while a water attendant made sure we were doing okay. Highly recommend hydrotherapy, I felt like a brand new person after!

Yelp
Love it here, great atmosphere and very clean and professional. The massage therapists are also super friendly and talented.

Yelp
i really enjoyed the water journey, and the outdoor zen garden puts this place over the top. i didn't want to leave! I loved the steam room. the aromatherapy was just that. I stayed as long as I could. I hope to get a massage next visit along with the water journey. i can't imagine things being even better than they were but I look forward for the combined experience next visit. i also left my Apple Watch behind and, not that I recommend being as irresponsible as I was, but they worked with me to secure it and make sure I got it back. i appreciate the extra effort they made on their end for my error. i will be returning, question is when! ps i finally conquered my cold water plunge fear and went for it... one of the best feelings my body has ever experienced.

Yelp
Unfortunately I can't speak to the spa services. I haven't been able to get in touch with a real person when I call the Newport location. I have, however, received several texts from the "concierge" but no actual call. The response I received to my text inquiry was, "we're fully committed." I asked the concierge for a live call to discuss options, she said she would call after a certain time. But, they never called. I've never come across this model for trying to book a service, and I'm sorry to say I didn't feel like my business is valued if I can't even get a phone call to discuss the multiple services I wanted to book. I know it's hard to discern tone via text, but I got the impression that whoever was texting me felt my inquiry was a nuisance. I was much looking forward to visiting the spa, but if a phone call is too much to ask of the receptionist, then I guess I'll have to try another spa.

Yelp
Their reservation department is extremely disorganized. We had a group of 4. They canceled my reservation and one of my friends. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate us. Their excuse was they have a lot of new employees. My advice is that they train their employees to do their job.

Shannon J.

Yelp
I went for the water journey. I would love to do it again soon. I found the price very reasonable. It was 2.5 hours which was a little long for me. However it's very relaxing and there's cucumber and lemon water available to drink. The changing room is very nice. It has everything you need to get ready like shower, shampoos, blow dryer, ect. Also you get robes and slippers. The slippers look like they need to be replaced. They are not comfortable and look dingy. Other than that very good experience.

Rita B.

Yelp
My first time at Bodhi Spa in Newport and I will definitely return. From the moment I got there, I felt so welcome. The spa was so clean and calming. I had the best facial from Katie. She was warm, friendly and so professional. I looked and felt great when I left.

Yelp
Again leaving 5 stars for reasons stated in prior review, but I went on Monday night, 7/10 for the express session, and there was a team of four varying aged bros using a mobile phone for a timer and competing over how long they could stay in the cold plunge pool. I had never seen competitive relaxing before, so that's a first for me, but again, not the vibe you want in a spa and I wonder why management didn't tell them the phone wasn't allowed?

Yelp
Great Location for a Quiet Escape . This was my first time at Bodhi; I enjoyed my time at this spa while relaxing & resting. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Once you check in you are given a mini tour along with access to your locker with your robe & slippers , you can also keep your personal belongings in the locker as you're given a key to which will be taken with you into the spa . I enjoyed this spa was bikini attire compared to some nude only spas ; The sauna rooms where my favorite they had different temperatures & special treatments from uv, aromatherapy, etc . The pools were wonderful as you are given 3 different temperatures to pick from starting from hot to cold or vice versa the choice . This was a very tranquil experience which I would definitely recommend if needing a day of self care & silence; I wish it had more amenities but overall I'd give this location 7.5/10 just because I've been to other spas that had more variety

Yelp
SPA-MAZING! If there were more than 5 stars to give, The Bodhi Spa would get them. I love being welcomed by friendly faces & a warmed, aromatherapeutic towel when signing in. This wasn't my first time here (and definitely won't be my last!) and I have yet to have less than a top-notch luxurious experience. The Water Journey is relaxing and sparkling clean. The staff are professional, helpful, and friendly. Signing in and finding a locker already prepared with my size robe & shoes make getting ready seamless. Honestly, I could go on with amazing things to say forever. Thank you, Bodhi, for yet another amazing day!

Yelp
Spent the afternoon at Bodhi with my husband. We did the Water Journey and it's so relaxing. There are some nice touches like warm towels for your hands when you first get there and cold eucalyptus towels were handed out while we were in a sauna. I really love the outdoor sauna, we were lucky to have an almost 50 degree day in February and we sat outside in the sun.

Yelp
This review is for the water journey - I have visited them probably 20 or 30 times since they opened. It's not what it used to be. They jam so many people in there now. The duration used to be 4 hours, now it's 2 hours, while the amount of people has doubled. Last time I counted 16 people in the space. Oh, and the price used to be $50, now it's $85. On the wrong track. I won't be going back.

Sue D.

Yelp
Upon entering I was immediately greeted by the front desk attendant who was smiling and very friendly. She offered me cucumber water right away which made me feel welcome. I was given a robe, flip flops and a towel then escorted to the entry to the female locker room. Originally I did not request an appointment for the water journey but was able to add it before my massage. Great massage. Wish there was a "quiet room" or a more private area to relax inside. They have an area to six and relax outdoors but I did not want to be in the sun or heat.

Yelp
I had a 60 Min Signature Massage with Liza and WOW!! I wish it was a 5 hour massage Not only was she so sweet and kind, but she really has magical hands and listened to my body concerns. I left feeling a release in the pain I had been feeling prior to coming to Bodhi. I will need to come back to do the Water Journey. The service here from start to finish was wonderful, plus the energy in this place is just good vibes, very relaxing and tranquil. Loved it, so glad I came!

Yelp
Where do I even start! My boyfriend and I were on a little vacation which we had to plan probably a week in advance due to COVID craziness... as nurses we can't really travel far or anywhere with high infection rates etc etc. ANYWAY. I was kind of concerned about the idea of a spa, but I was reassured that they're clean they have lowered their capacities. We started our spa evening with a water journey. ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE MONEY! DO IT! also I strong encourage buying one of their special water masks rather than wearing your own fabric one. At the end of our journey we went for a 30 minute massage which absolutely was not long enough, but hey we got what we could. This place has many other things to offer, but I would totally recommend.

Yelp
My husband and I went for a couple massage last week and our overall experience was okay. Not fantastic- but good. First, the pros: - Their staff was friendly and polite upon arrival. They made sure to answer any questions we had and point us in the right direction. - The locker rooms were extremely clean and well-maintained. - The massage room was very comfortable and the setting (lighting and table set up) was relaxing. - COVID restrictions were taken seriously. If you did not provide proof of vaccination, you had to keep your mask on at all times. The cons: - Booking was somewhat confusing at times. I would get texted from different phone numbers or sent links to unknown service website asking for my information to finalize booking. Although staff was very polite to confirm via email that these communications were all through facility representatives, it became almost necessary to check that each new number or a website wasn't some kind of random scam. A more streamlined/explained process would have been better. - We were asked to wait in the lobby once ready for our massages. This meant sitting in out in front of all people coming and going in our robes and slippers. Not only did this feel very exposed, but there was a lot of foot traffic, it was loud, and it was cold from the door constantly opening. Not really the best start to what's supposed to be a relaxing session. - Our massage therapists were extremely nice but neither my husband or I were really pleased with the end results. The woman assisting me dug so deeply into my shoulders that I am still in significant discomfort days later. I am used to massages too so this is a sign to me that this was way too much. Should I have said something during the massage? Absolutely- so this does partially fall on me as well. But she would repeatedly make comments about how proud she was to "be getting all of the knots," so I felt uncomfortable speaking up because I was sure she would move to a different area soon enough and would tell myself that she was the professional and knew what she was doing. On the other hand, my husband stated the man assisting him had long nails which would occasionally dig into him and would repeatedly whisper into his ear, so he was not able to relax. Were there enough positive points to make me come back? Sure! Especially to try out the water journey because people seemed pleased with it. Our experience may have just been the result of an off day. But to be fair to the review based on that one visit so far, there are some things that could have improved the visit overall.

Yelp
Scheduling: I arranged my appointment through yelp messenger. Between going back and forth deciding a day it took me about 20 minutes as I was shopping and doing errands. I thought I would hve to book much farther out by they ended up having something later that week! Parking: my boyfriend lives in Newport so I had him drop me off and pick me up. The parking is street parking on lower Thames so it is pretty limited. During the tourist months in the summer I'm sure the parking is a lot tougher to find. If you are not a Newport native I would schedule in some extra time before your massage to find parking. Aesthetic: calm and relaxing. There was several bubbling water fountains, fresh washed towels, cucumber water and hot tea, robes and sandals provided. The lights were set to brighter in the lobby and dimmer in the massage and water therapy room so that way it's calm and relaxing. Embroidered colorful throws in the massage room- and nice cute wooden and woven baskets with fixins like hair ties and tampons. Massage: one of the better massages I've had. It was deep tissue and I felt my knots being worked out but Bill was also gentle and slow with his movements which made it feel more relaxing than other deep tissue work I've had in the past. By the end of my hour I felt like melted butter!!! I would highly recommend bill for deep tissue of his technical skills as well as his friendly and accommodating manner. He worked on my neck and back only- which was what was bothering me and gave me the option of skipping the led pain Therapy in order to get a longer massage time. I appreciated this option because I'm not always up for a full body massage. They then took the pain therapy off the bill so that I had a remaining balance! Win win!!! Bill also asked me a few times if the massage was okay and when I was coughing from some post nasal drip he stopped for a moment to grab me some water. I was lying on my stomach during that time and he asked if I'd like to flip onto my back for the remaining minutes so that the post nasal drip wouldn't bother me as much. I had also forgotten my gift card at my house accidentally and the woman at the check in counter was able to look up my gift card in the computer so that I could still get my massage for my scheduled time! I would love to come back with my bathing suit so that I can try the water therapy room!!!!!!!

Yelp
Wasn't able to make an appointment.... When speaking to employee on the phone she was rude and ridiculous. She asked me if I was ok and if I had gotten in a car accident. What?

Yelp
Hidden gem Worth the drive from CT Attentive staff It's seem being clean and staying safe among our pandemic is their focus Enjoyed the water therapy Will definitely return again Would highly recommend to bring your own waterproof mask or purchased what's available, paper mask will not work if planning water therapy
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
Great experience! I was a little nervous about getting a message during the pandemic, but from everything I read this place took very careful precautions. And I agree. Everything was clean. Guests are asked to wear a mask during the massage, etc. everything felt clean and sanitary. The massage itself was great and the ambiance was fantastic. I'm not much of a massage connoisseur, but it did the trick! Would definitely come back here next time I'm in Newport.

Yelp
Loved the Water Journey! They had the appropriate policies in place for safety during COVID and it was such a relaxing experience for My friend and I during these strange, stressful times. I will definitely go back!

Yelp
My husband went for our anniversary and these were the services we received: Water journey, Men's Signature Facial for my husband, Mineral Rich Dead Sea Mud Treatment for me, and we both got a Hot Stone Massage in a couple's room as we requested. Overall the facility is clean and serene. They gave us a thorough tour since it was our first time. SUPER friendly and attentive. We were initially given an iPad for registering our health information and robes and flip flops to slip into. And kept us hydrated with cucumber water. Th locker room was clean, well-maintained and stocked with hygiene goodies for when you go about your day. They even had a swimsuit dryer which was super convenient. The Water Journey facility was tranquil, beautiful and quiet when we went. The floor was just a little slippery because of the water splashes from the pools, but they give you flip/flops for that for your safety. You could even go back in between, before or after any massage services or sessions. They even let us have our phones as long as we were mindful and respectful of other guests. They strongly recommend though to leave phones behind in the locker room and to keep the environment quiet and peaceful. There were 3 different saunas to choose from and 3 different pools to experience. Loved every minute of it. And if you felt like needing a break from the Water Journey, there was a cute, little nook/corner where you could just sit, relax, and drink your cucumber water. My husband said he absolutely loved how relaxing his facial was and as soon I saw him after my scrub, I could swear he was glowing. His face was clear, bright and fresh. He said it was definitely something he needed to do again! For my scrub it was absolutely calming/refreshing and my skin was soft as a baby's butt for 3 days after we went to this spa. The mud did wonders for my dry skin and the dry brushing exfoliated my skin. My attendant, Amy, made sure to make me feel comfortable, relaxed and covered up well. When we both got the hot stone couple massage, it was absolutely quiet and serene. The spa music absolutely set the mood and the massages were great. My husband had Selena massage him and I had Bill. Both of them were severely attentive before, during and after our massage. We were new to hot stone, it was quite the experience and it made our bodies feel renewed. We could not ask for more. They were absolutely gentle, thorough and very personable. This facility is attentive, personable, clean and tranquil. A complete gem! Overall, my husband and I loved it and will be back.

Yelp
What an experience! I brought my best friend here for her birthday, a real spa girl, and I'm so glad I did. I have been trying to get here for a while. From checking in to check out my experience was flawless. The locker rooms were clean and water-free ( unlike what others have experienced). it had many amenities to make my visit very comfortable including mouthwash and shampoo and conditioner. We did the water journey and it was probably the most relaxing thing I've ever done. It's an easy to follow guide but you can also do it your own way. My favorite areas was the Epson salt pool, the hottest, and the infrared sauna. I was afraid that with the metal in my back from a previous back surgery that the infrared would be too hot, but it wasn't. The cold plunge was a new experience for me, but I was a big girl and did it all three times! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and all of the supplies were readily replenished at frequent intervals. This was my first of many visits to come. I will definitely be back, I can't wait for everybody special in my life to experience this!

Yelp
Small overall. Which is probably why they have to charge so much. Not worth the money. Not relaxing, feels like you're in a fishbowl.

Yelp
This was by far the best spa experience we've ever had! Hubby and I went away for a night and started with treatments here; a round in the water journey, followed by a couple's massage. The facility was well stocked, very clean and staff was always around to help or offer cucumber water. My masseuse was Rob and hubby had Bill-- such an amazing massage, felt like a million bucks afterwards! We even went back into the water journey after the massages. Wish this place was closer to home! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I'm trying to book a Spa Party where we would spend more than a thousand dollars on services. Why is it so hard to get either Newport or Providence to return a phone call or even show one iota of interest to help book this event???

Yelp
Update to the response comment: There were actually several calls from myself and an additional member of my party trying to book this service in addition to the emails. Correct, the manager Leah was fine with her responses, however, telephone call messages were not relayed to her (not her fault) and the receptionists were less than helpful when we called each time. And again there was literally nobody else in the water journey at the time we were in there so I don't how it was "filled to capacity with all these complaints about us" Not an enjoyable experience, I actually found it more stressful than relaxing. They don't like to answer phones or emails or call back when they say they're going to. They're not keen on groups of people nor helpful in the booking process at all. Before I even got there this place wasn't getting higher than a three rating anyway because of the hassle with the booking process but once we got there I was less than impressed...I did the water journey and a hot stone massage. The water journey is nothing special, just a few different temperature pools and the zen garden is an unlandscaped patch of grass. They also do a terrible job "mopping" the floor in the water journey so good luck not slipping. The ONLY other group in there was chatting quietly with my group and the staff still told everybody to be quiet, obviously nobody complained about the noise because nobody else was in there so that was annoying. And I agree with the other comments about the receptionist not being trained also. She couldn't figure out how to charge us and somebody else had to get involved. Overall not the best spa I've been too and I will look for a different one if I'm ever in the area again.

Yelp
I was looking to get a massage while visiting Newport and came across the Bodhi Spa. I was intrigued upon reading more about the "water journey" and decided to add it on to my massage. So glad I did! My massage was very relaxing and professional but I have to be honest that I enjoyed the water journey even more than the massage. It was such a unique and relaxing experience. If only I lived closer, I would probably come more often. The experience here is definitely not cheap but the spa is kept in such pristine condition I can't complain. The locker rooms and spa areas are so clean you know it costs a lot to maintain. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Newport.

Yelp
Had a 90 min couples massage with Daniel and jane. I had daniel as my therapist. As a massage therapist myself, he was very professional and had great techniques. His upper back and shoulder work was amazing!! Both were professional. Also the water journey is well worth it. Loved the aromatherapy stream room and the cold plunge the best. Made my tired achy muscles relaxed. Had a very good sleep that night! Thank you. We'll be back

Yelp
Best spa in New England! I have been coming to this spa since they first opened in 2015. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the serenity. The people are super welcoming and always there to answer any questions you may have. We started with the water journey which is a circuit of different relaxation methods from Dead Sea salt pool, to the steam room, you are so relaxed and feeling wonderful from start to finish. We booked massages afterwards which are also great. And, if you do both the water journey is discounted so it makes it an affordable experience. So, if you are looking for some relaxation and a great day in Newport, look no further than the Bodhi Spa.

Yelp
Awesome experience. Went for my girlfriends birthday as a surprise. Did the hydrotherapy. Told her we were going to the hotel pool so she had her bathing suit on. Then to get her to the spa I told her I needed to go to the liquor store first. She was instantly furious! Wouldn't look at me. Kept texting furious on her phone to god knows who.... I was panicking... even sweating. It was tough to keep the act going in the car because I could tell she was ready to explode in anger. Then it all changed once we got to the spa. The woman who was so upset then became so happy. Couldn't stop saying how relaxed and happy she was while going through the hydrotherapy. 10/10 recommend. Hope to go again soon this time I'll probably add a massage!

Yelp
Such a nice and relaxing time. Water therapy was needed! I had back surgery a couple of months back and I'm not in pain right now. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Yelp
Me and five friends visited Bodhi spa and did the water journey and each one of us had at least one service done. Pros: - water journey was half off when you purchase a service - water journey was a fun and relaxing experience - everyone who had Liza as a masseuse raves about her and said it was their best massage they had and she did a great job digging in - my pregnant friend loved the pre natal massage with Liza - I was worried about speaking in hushed tones with a group of 6 but we survived and were happy to see other groups and couples quietly chatting - we were afraid we wouldn't be able to talk at all Cons: - the locker room was kind of a mess and almost should be separated from the showers in order to be cleaner and to avoid standing in a half inch of water anywhere you go - wish more towels were available in the locker rooms so you didn't have to go out front each time you needed one - everyone who got a massage from the petit blonde (laurielee or Laurianne?) didn't enjoy their massage and felt she didn't use enough pressure even after asking her to, was a bit of a letdown with everyone raving about Liza - because of scheduling of the services some of our party was stuck in the water journey waiting for hours until their appointment. Would be better if we had a smaller group or there were more on staff to handle larger groups Overall it was an okay experience and those who got Liza for their massage would definitely go back. I think everyone who didn't have her would have reservations or would need a little convincing. It was busy all day long so it seems you'll likely be surrounded by people if you go on a weekend.

Yelp
This was my first experience with a massage, and I think I'm addicted. My neck had been hurting for so long and I got the scalp, neck and shoulder massage and it hit all the spots I needed. I followed up with a Bhodi facial and I was glowing all day:) definitely recommend scheduling an appointment

Yelp
I really wanted to love this and was super excited to go. The facilities were clean and the staff was friendly. If capacity was capped at 5-6 people then the water journey would have been amazing! Unfortunately they sell 14 slots for each time for a relatively small space with only 5 main stations. Again, if there had been 6 people it would have been great ad I'd be giving a 5 star review. But with 14, there were just people everywhere. Small pools that could fit 2-3 comfortably would have 8 people in it. At one point I was in a very small infrared sauna and four other people piled in (one was standing since there was not enough seating). Especially since its a circuit that encourages a specific order, having this many people was a huge problem. There were constant bottlenecks and it was a constant struggle just avoiding running into people. A lot of waiting in lines! I'm not super claustrophobic but I do like my personal space and I left feeling even more stressed then when I entered. I'd recommend maybe trying to do at an off time or I see they offer private events for groups of 6.

Yelp
I am in love with the experience at The Bodhi Spa. The ambiance is so relaxing, it makes it easy to leave my worries behind and be in the moment. I love the setup of the 2 different hot tubs, but my favorite is the steam room and cold plunge. Going from hot to cold makes my body feel invigorated. Just make sure you stay in the cold plunge long enough!! The hardest part is getting in, so stay for a few long, deep breaths :) The staff is always so helpful and amazing as well. I am greeted with a smile, and any concerns I have are addressed immediately. They really go above and beyond to make The Bodhi Spa as relaxing as possible. Every service I have had has also been exceptional. I go to this spa every chance I get. My husband and I became members after our first visit. We enjoyed the health benefits, as well as the energizing feeling we get after. I bring every single person that comes to visit mean Newport!!!!

Yelp
I had been to the Bodhi Spa once before, having had such an amazing, relaxing, rejuvenating day. This past week I went again, looking for that sense of calm, and found it despite the stress and heaviness of our current environment. The staff did a PHENOMENAL job at maintaining appropriate precautions and policies in light of COVID. I never felt worried that if I touched a surface, it may be dirty. If you are in there and paying attention, you see the staff cleaning constantly, and closely monitoring for adherence to social distancing and mask guidelines. Unfortunately you don't always see this attention to detail right now, so I was so very impressed with them. I will be back many more times.
