Google
I would like to begin by acknowledging the excellent service we received during our visit. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, regularly checking in throughout our meal, which made for a very positive experience. Regarding the food, while it wasn’t the worst we’ve had, there were a few areas for improvement. Specifically, the shrimp were very difficult to peel, and the corn was extremely overcooked and soggy. The gator bites, although flavorful, were tough. On a positive note, the fried pickles and ranch dressing were very flavorful with a satisfying crunch. The potatoes, sausage, and crab were all very average. It was nice to try once but I don’t think we would go again as there are a ton of Cajun/seafood places.

Google
If I could give 0 stars i definitely would: only come here to eat crawfish that seems to be the only thing they cook good. I don’t eat crawfish so I tried the buffalo wings first while I waited on my friends the wings tasted like they came from the bottom of the freezer. And the wings took 30-40 minutes to come to the table! It was not busy. So I said this is a Cajun place let me just get the Louisiana Crawfish Étouffée and it was TERRIBLE! Went to try to exchange it and found out they have a policy where you can’t exchange or get a refund on food. So please order with caution and if you don’t eat crawfish don’t come here. I attached a picture of this goop if you care to see it.

Came for the end of crawfish season and we were not disappointed! They were perfectly cooked and came out within minutes of sitting down. The staff was friendly and attentive! Great experience, we will be back soon! Puro Bota!!!!

I visited this venue for the White Linen event, and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with one of the security guards. He was extremely disrespectful and showed a complete lack of customer service. I was waiting for my friends to come inside, and since they had drinks, they were trying to finish them before entering. I was helping them with that when the security guard abruptly and rudely asked me to leave—despite the fact that I showed him our drinks were purchased from the bar. The situation could have been handled in a much more respectful and professional way. This behavior really put a damper on what was supposed to be a fun night.

Google
Overall a decent patio spot for a beer and service is decent. The food is just average as the sausage in the crawfish was extremely dry. The shrimp platter was tasty but overpriced for portion size. Parking in the area can be limited and tricky so ride share might be a better option.

Google
They boil the crawfish decently. We prefer them seasoned in the water rather than seasoned on the outside. Busy and fun atmosphere at the time we went, on a Friday night. Lots of space for kids to run around and large tables for big group gatherings made for a great time had by all. Would gladly return as crawfish is one of our favorite meals ever!

Google
If I was the owner, I’d be extremely embarrassed. Customers waiting 40 minutes for mediocre crawfish in a neighborhood with plenty of great establishments is not great. Luckily, they seem to have done the marketing right. People driving to eat here seem to be sustaining the business, because you won’t find a single local here that has decent taste in food. If you aren’t going to serve good food at a reasonable pace, at least tell people how long it’s going to be. Regrettably, you won’t even get that here. Go elsewhere. Several great spots are less 5 minutes away.

Yelp
Best crawfish I've ever had. Love this place and planning on going back asap. It's really cute outdoor seating- spacious. Could not get over the crawfish. We are experts and this is the best we've ever had. Great cocktails too. Just go!

Yelp
Food-- Crawfish: 7.8/10; the corn was a bit mushy, but the crawfish was perfectly seasoned and cooked-- I just wish it was a bit more juice leftover. Definitely Louisiana style! It took about 30 minutes to get it though. I wouldn't really come here to try anything other than the crawfish though. Jell-O shots were good & def have a kick. Service: 6/10-- could use a bit more of a welcoming spirit..

Yelp
Always a fan of the boot! It's always a good ole time! Especially during crawfish season. I love thats is family friendly. I love that they are consistent with taste and service. It gives you that backyard, family reunion, let's catch up type of vibes. The crawfish is small and big! The flavor is tasty. It's cajun style! The fried shrimp is delicious. I hear the gator bites are BOMB! The season fries have a kick. Beer is cheap and cold, the food is good! Lots of TVs. Parking can iffy when it's packed house. If you double park behind someone leave your name and number so they can phone you when they are ready to move. Check this place out! #moononthego

Yelp
Little Cajun place in Houston that serves a limited menu but delicious. Coming from the Midwest this was a wonderful little spot! I got. Po-boy and friends got a crawfish boil and everything was delicious. Service was fast to bring out food but there was a lot of people with only one person cashing out. Not her fault! Glad we visited during our short vacation.

Yelp
Food was great! Crawfish were big and full of flavor. Corn was AMAZING - spicy, but SO good! My potato was undercooked but rest of table was perfect. Sausage was lacking juiciness. Service was great, very quick and friendly. Great ambiance with lots of tables, outdoor space and plenty of TVs for watching games. Coming back, for sure!

Yelp
LOVE IT HERE GREAT CRAWFISH AND GREAT PARKING! I wish they had frozen margaritas but the ones on the rocks will do I also wish they had fans that'll actually cool you down in the summer maybe the ones you can put ice in & it'll blow out a cool breeze.

Yelp
What a fantastic location. Food is incredible and the outside atmosphere can't be beat. Crawfish is so good. Make sure you add them to your bucket list!

Yelp
I have been coming here for the last 2 years only during crawfish season. The crawfish are good but if you are looking for spicy or the different seasons then this isn't the place to visit. The crawfish are tasty but could use a little more seasoning. Upon entry you must order your food at the counter then someone will bring it to you. You must go to the counter every time to order drinks or food which sucks. I would recommend ordering 2 drinks at a time. The place is pretty big with tvs and heaters during the winter time.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here during happy hour. Crawfish was $5.99 a pound. So flavorful with a little kick. How I like them. Decent size & fresh! Only downside was I ate outside so I had to fight the flies over my food. I didn't like that. I paired it with a Jameson ginger beer. Next time a beer will do just fine. 4 stars cause customer service wasn't really that great. I just flew in town from Cali. I love visiting Houston for the good food and southern hospitality but the gentlemen who helped me wasn't very friendly at all. I would def go back for the crawfish alone. So good. The best I had in a while.

Yelp
The best crawfish in Houston no doubt about it. The service is superb and very on it. The ambiance is 2nd to none. Tommy and everyone at THE BOOT provide everything you'll need for an overly enjoyable meal. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

Yelp
Always love watching our Saints at The Boot, good company, good food, great atmosphere, the best bread pudding... but for the love PLEASE TAKE THE MICROPHONE AWAY FROM THE DRUNK TRYING TO GIVE HIS OWN COMMENTARY THROUGHOUT THE GAME!!! He is ruining it...ugh. We like the guy that just plays the music when it applies situationally!

Pete D.

Yelp
I'm a seasonal customer during the crawfish months. Look, the food is excellent. Not a fan of the red beans and rice, always dry but other than that the food tastes 100% cajun/creole. The service is great outside of the lines being slow sometimes, if you know what you want the exchange is friendly and quick. Ambiance., outdoor seating and TVs at every angle for watching sports plus music. It really can't get better than that. The ownership. Yeah. Not a fan. Master of his domain type. Had friends tell me about the arrogance but never experienced firsthand until there was a long wait for my food, which is fine, finally received and had a crawfish dip missing. I wasn't going to let them get cold waiting in a 10 deep line, I went up to the counter to ask one of the bartenders.. Before they can ask me, he storms up with a demand to know why I skipped the line. I deadpan responded. He got me the crawfish dip and added "oh they probably didn't hear you" as he handed it over. Great. Thanks. Why are you trying to flex on a customer and make it about who was wrong? I just want to eat and go home. I've been back at least a half dozen times since then. But I am a true seasonal patron because of the above. I'm willing to overpay for crawfish if the food is good but I watched him bully a customer the other day and didn't like it one bit. Come here. Eat the food. It's delicious. Stay away from the owner though. He's a clown.

Yelp
went to get a beer and some food to go. As I walked in, some guy standing at the front (bouncer?), muttered "another goddamn fag". I asked him to repeat what he said and he told me he would kick my ass in the parking lot. Turned around to leave, and he called out "good riddance faggot". I was wearing knee length shorts, a plain undershirt, tennis shoes. I do have long hair, but why is that enough to be humiliated like that?
google avatar

Lindsey L.

Yelp
Great relaxed place to come to with friends to watch sporting events. Good food - especially if you like poboys or cajun food. Good selection of beer and cider.
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years, mainly for boiled crawfish but they have a pretty solid menu year round. They have really good Louisiana style spicy boiled crawfish when in season and their seasoned fries are some of my favorites around. The poboys are also good with fresh French bread. The red beans and rice were watery and bland so I wouldn't get that again but am usually not disappointed with much on their menu. Most of the seating is outdoors but they do have a small indoor air conditioned area. It's also a great place for Saints game days. They have a DJ playing all the Louisiana classics during commercial breaks.
google avatar

Yelp
Simply put, this bar has a really good po boy on the menu. In particular, I'm talking about the grilled shrimp po boy that I had last weekend while visiting. I had it a couple of years ago too and it was excellent and I meant to come back sooner. They use Ledenheimer bread from The Big Easy so that right there assures you of a delectable meal. My po boy had plenty of medium sized grilled shrimp and it was dressed, of course. It comes with a side which I decided to try the potato salad. The food came out in about 10 minutes and I enjoyed every bite of the sandwich. The potato salad serving size was generous but I didn't realize when I ordered it that it is made with spicy mustard. Yes it had some kick to it. More than I like. Actually, I would have liked it much more had it been mayo based or even just regular mustard. It had a lot of content. This is an indoor/outdoor bar that has a food truck hidden in the back that makes the grub. I must come back soon and try something else because I suspect there are other good things on the menu.

Yelp
First time eating crawfish! Delicious. A good kick of spice. Great service, casual atmosphere.
google avatar

Emmily P.

Yelp
This is some of the best spicy Louisiana style crawfish I've had in Houston . They have a nice patio area with heaters and fans so perfect for any weather . I tried their hurricane beverage which was also pretty good. My only complaint was the sausage . Although it was delicious in my opinion it doesn't pair well with crawfish . It was good though.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
Once you enter The Boot, you've entered a mini Tigerland. The Boot is decked out with Louisiana beer decor, sadly, no gators in sight. You order your food & drinks at the bar, and wait at an open table where they will bring you your food. The Boot boils their crawfish cajun-styled, though not very flavorful or spicy (in my opinion). Currently, the crawfish is at $8.99/lb. I will say the crawfish étoufée... wow. *chef's kiss* like butter.
google avatar

Dawson K.

Yelp
Love The Boot! This is the original go to spot on 20th. Way more chill then all of the hipster bars on this street. The staff is great and always friendly. The gumbo and red beans are awesome. Highly recommend for all Cajun lover.
google avatar

Lakyn H.

Yelp
Went in for crawfish but ended up staying for the po-boys, gumbo, and the BEST bread pudding I've ever had. Great local spot if you're looking for a place to drink and not be packed in like sardines and paying $18 for a cocktail. The big tvs outside are perfect for watching football.
google avatar

Carmela N.

Yelp
Patio and indoor seating created for a fun environment. Crawfish currently $8.99 per pound. Great Cajun flavor. If you're not a fan of spicy, the dip helps cool down the spice of the crawfish. Don't waste your money on the butter. The dirty rice lacked luster. Overall, would recommend for a good crawfish meal.
google avatar

Ruth V.

Yelp
Wowza this is good crawfish. Just the right amount of seasoning to leave your lips tingling. Perfect little Texas gem.
google avatar

Kartanya B.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the crawfish here at the boot. Authentic Louisiana boiled crawfish. Can't wait to returned!!!
google avatar

Keisha F.

Yelp
This is a great place to watch the games and hang out with friends! It has always been open so if you're concerned about Covid-19..it's pretty much all outside except for a small section. And of course the tables are covered with umbrellas..to protect you from the heat while you enjoy some of the best crawfish in Houston. They don't have a large menu and most people that I bring here that don't eat crawfish say the other food is just mediocre. Now I will say the chicken and sausage gumbo is a good appetizer to try and the bread pudding is amazing!
google avatar

Jeepers C.

Yelp
Meh...dey boil shrimp and crawfish pretty good them. Could use more spice if you ask me, me. The staff comes across fatigued doe.
google avatar

Eddie D.

Yelp
A really nice place, outdoor seating big TVs ! I tried a couple of appetizers,, very good!
google avatar

Brianna C.

Yelp
3/5 for food/service 5/5 for patio atmosphere Service is essentially non existent. On a busy day, they rush to take your order at the counter when you walk in and the food runners drop it off via numbers. They allow cars to double park because the lot is really small. Definitely not ideal. It's a lively bar. Patio is really pleasant on a pretty afternoon. The food is mediocre in my opinion. The po-boy was lacking in seasoning and it was super dry. I really hate the shrimp is still veined (poop), especially for $15 a sandwich. The seasoning on the fries is really good. The dirty rice and pickles were just okay. If you want exceptional food, order the crawfish and beer and leave the rest of the menu to other restaurants.
google avatar

Dinah L.

Yelp
Food is decent, service is subpar. The guy mending the bar was boarder line rude, we asked him a few questions about the crawfish, and the sauce, he answered us in a condescending way. We understand that if we need anything, we go to the bar to order, which is fine, but they would not go above and beyond to help you, or to make sure everything is okay. Anything you ask from them feels like pulling teeth. If you like to spend money at a place that you don't feel welcomed, this is your place!
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
Seemed like a cool place. Mainly all outdoor seating which is ok when it isn't the TX summer!! You order at the bar, has a divey feel to the place. They serve food which basically comes all out of a food truck, crawfish, poboys, think southern seafood. No draft beer, do have liquor. Plenty of TVs outside.

Jason C.

Yelp
I agree with previous review regarding rude staff. The man behind the bar in the baseball cap on Saturday February 18 was rude to my wife on one occasion and a friend the other. The management should remedy the situation. I'm sure they can find a non public facing job. And the crawfish were small, cold and not spicy. Update: turns out the rude asshole is the owner. 0/10
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
Atmosphere good. Food good. Nothing bad to say. I have to post 38 more characters so let's see if I make it
google avatar

Lea B.

Yelp
Ate here on the recommendation from a friend who lives in Houston. The wait for food wasn't too long. Our group ordered a crawfish boil and crawfish po boy. Everything was seasoned just right with Texas size portions. What's shown is 3 pounds which was more than enough.
google avatar

B D.

Yelp
Crawfish was very expensive, almost $10/lb. The taste was pretty good tho. Not worth the cost.
google avatar

KATIE C.

Yelp
Crawfish were really good but bartender and man behind the bar taking orders was extremely rude. I don't care how good your food is, if you can't be nice to your customers then you don't deserve my business. There are plenty of great places in Houston to get boiled crawfish.
google avatar

Gloria M.

Yelp
Friendly atmosphere with great food. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. Good place to meet people from surrounding communities.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Crawfish was so flavorful & it didn't take long for our food to arrive. Parking was a bit difficult but it's Houston so ‍
google avatar

William E.

Yelp
Wow this was a nice place. Great costumer service--nice woman. However, the rumors are true; the gumbo is very, very watery, almost ruinunng the experience. Nevertheless, I would recommend just don't purchase the gumbo. Nevermind it's pretty good.

Tim L.

Yelp
Food was good. Service and organization was as bad as I have seen. Too long to take order. No way to add to order without getting back in line. Has potential, but needs work.

G S.

Yelp
Place is fantastic. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and ice cold beer. The owner is awesome too. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Ken L.

Yelp
Came back after a few years with hope! Nope!! Bartender was condescending and purposely took orders from people standing behind me in line. Still charging 8.99 a pound for crawfish when it's late in the season and prices have dropped. I guess ordering 17lbs over the night for a birthday party makes you easy to ignore. Ole Billy the manager (not sure that's his title/roll) just witnessed and had a ho hum attitude. Bartender might be his significant other or hopes of. Will not be back. So many other establishments trying to do things right in the area. Try them first before you settle.
google avatar

Yelp
Open air, super cool space. There is a small indoor space with air conditioning, but the thing to do is sit outside and enjoy the music and ambience. Service was fast. Their staff was super laid back and polite. We came here for the crawfish. It was good, although I would like it a little more flavorful and spicy (LOL, the crawfish in NOLA deliciously burned the inside of my mouth )! I do have to admit that these "large size" (in my short experience with these yummy things) are a lot more enjoyable than the tiny ones. Working so hard to get that tail out sometimes frustrates me. Soooo, getting more meat every time I sit there and crack away at the shell, is a big plus! Boots lets you choose add-ons like the corn on the cob, potatoes, sausage, etc. I stuck to only sausage and wasn't disappointed. We ordered a side of potato salad and I liked the bacon mixed in. The live music was a good although, I'm not really a Blues guitar fan, I could appreciate the artists playing and everyone around us seemed to be enjoying it.
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
The food is overpriced for the portions. We ordered the fish and shrimp platter and it had one small fish and five small shrimp and a side for $17. (Can get much better at Flying Fish down the street.) Service sucked. We had to order at the bar. We were standing at the bar waiting to order and the bartender was flirting with other ladies instead of waiting on us. Additionally, once we had our food delivered at our table we asked for condiments and were advised that we had to get those at the bar. So then we had to wait at the bar to request those items. SMH.

Yelp
It is hard to find authentic cajun food outside of Louisiana. Yet this restaurant has far exceeded my expectations. As a critic of the culinary arts, I have extremely high standards for any chef who prepares seafood, most especially when so far inland. The chef(s) who have prepared mine and my party's meals this evening have done more than an excellent job. Both the shrimp and crab were prepared to perfection. Serving this in cajun fashion is more than boiling and serving, and these chefs have perfected the talent. The vegetables were prepared and seasoned above and beyond my expectations. The serving staff and hostess at the front had the upmost professional attitude and service. I highly recommend this location to all.

Joseph G.

Yelp
Went out to this place for Patty's days. Some Caucasian male (I think bouncer/door guy) "assumed" I was just in there to just use the restroom and shouted "This isn't a public restroom". Keep in mind, I was walking in the direction of the bar fully intending to buy a drink. I told him my intentions to buy a drink and the guy got aggressive and asked if I had a "F*cking Problem". The bouncer/door guy explained to my colleagues that I was upset because he was "assuming" I wasnt going to get a drink. I couldn't help but feel I was treated in this manner due to my ethnicity (Latino Male). Wouldn't recommend this spot to say the least.
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
The Boot is a staple in the area. Great for games and outdoor seating. The food is decently solid, and crawfish are pretty tasty. Watching Saints games here is a blast.

Yelp
My daughter ask me to meet a group of her and her friends here on Fat Tuesday. They had a live band and we were ordering lots of drinks and crawfish. One of my daughters friends (non black) went back to the bar to order more crawfish. She was then asked by who we know now is the owners wife if she was with the group of "black people who keeps ordering the Mexican Candy shots"? When she came back to the table she was confused and upset. Why couldn't we have just been the table ordering the Mexican Candy shots? Why did it even matter she wasn't ordering shots she was ordering crawfish. They deliver the crawfish to the table with a number. If she was ordering shots you don't deliver the drinks to the table so there was no need to identity the group of people? These are the type of unconscious biases that black people experience all the time. We can't go out and have a good time without people like this making reference to our race. The Boot's owner decided to exercise a subtle form of racism and needless to say we won't be coming back. That may be just what they want tho. Cedar Creek just down the street has great crawfish and service!

Yelp
Went there tonight and almost left in a brawl with some imbeciles. First off, the service was awful. I'm still shocked. I told random people at 2 different other establishments in the area about my shitty experience and at BOTH places they had similar stories and agreed. I asked the older blonde woman with the glasses working there if she knew how much crawfish I should order for 2 people. She was clearly annoyed and said "so do you want 2 pounds?" She then said "if you want sides, the menu is there" and pointed. I told her I was sorry I was so taken aback by what was happening that I was having trouble responding right away, which she clearly had an issue with. So frustrating because I have no idea how to order. We were so excited tonight to go out in our local neighborhood area for the holiday. Food was fine. I got flustered and ordered a beer so I couldn't tell you about the drinks. When we tried to leave, There were many cars blocking in other cars, ours being one of them. The employee called on the speaker to have the person backing us in to come move them after some more attitude. Some ratchet ghetto girl and her friend came to move their car but tried to fight me in the process. Where was the service? Why wasn't a tow truck called in the beginning on these idiots? I asked for a tow truck to be called and both women in glasses ignored me and gave me even MORE attitude. Will not be returning and I advise others to do the same. Overpriced with horrible service with the possibility of not being able to leave. The female front house employees have some sort of weird complex. Save yourself time and money. Don't go!

Yelp
Amazing seafood at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is awesome too. GET THE CRAB LEGS

Yelp
Not a huge fan. Way too over crowded, no fans to blow the cool air in a bullion degree Texas heat. Lots of drunks, and loud obnoxious patrons. Will never go back.
