Where to Celebrate Oktoberfest Around D.C. | Eater DC

"Tysons Corner’s luxury mixed-use development hosts an Oktoberfest party on Saturday, September 23 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., complete with German fare from local food trucks and Oktoberfest, pumpkin, and weissbier-style brews poured at the Sandlot’s biergarten. There’s also a stein-holding competition to win retailer gift cards, a live polka band, and for the kids, glitter tattoos, face painting, and crafts. The first 150 people there will receive a custom beer mug. The local chapter of Alex’s Lemonade Stand will be on-site to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer." - Tierney Plumb

I live at the Boro. Everything wonderful, restaurants, movie theatre, festivals. But Please Please Please put a big sign kids can’t play soccer there. Every time I worry about my kids and their safety, every time they get hit by a ball. Please put a big sign so it is visible to all. It is not a soccer field. We can’t sit and enjoy. Mosaic has a same grass area they don’t allow ball there and people enjoy. I feel bad because you did such a wonderful job at the boro and people can’t sit safe. Thank you

I've loved Boro ever since they opened and never had a bad incident until just recently. The parking officer Mr. GREENE harassed me and my family when we went to grab a quick pickup 2min at Paris baguette. Their is a line of cars parked out front and we didn't think we would get so publicly harassed and targeted and ticketed. He wasn't a real police officer and harassed and yelled at us too and threatened us multiple times. We are of ethnic backgrounds and we feel we're isolated out given their were many other cars parked there. After thus we recieved 4 tickets in the mail. Do not go to boro they will send the parking enforcement to harass you even if you park on the street for a minute. Avoid this mixed use development at all costs and take your business to tysons malls galleria where no parking enforcement will treat and berate you publicly and humulitate you and your family like this!

I came here to watch a show on the inflatable big screen that was set up. It was a really cute area that I didn't know existed! There seem to be some cool bars/restaurants- you can also walk outside with your drink. I paid to park in a garage but realized there is some free street parking.

I can’t believe that I have to pay so much for parking to go to a restaurant, to the movies or even to get a cup of coffee at the Boro. Especially that I can do all these things five minutes away at the Mall or 10 minutes away at the Modaic which is an even prettier outdoor shopping area.

Very disappointed. Seats were comfortable and the movie had nothing to do with them. The prices for food and drinks were astronomical. There’s just no reason to charge $7 for a bottle of water. But the worst part was the food that you were served sitting down in the theater. It was nothing more than greasy overpriced corner store food. We ordered a quesadilla and a burger and fries. The taste was bland. The food was lukewarm, but the part that really made me angry was that you’re forced to tip a minimum of 18%. You cannot process the order without including this tip to “cover a standard living wage“ and yes, it says that on the tip…… when they are literally just running this up to your seat and to go container, dropping it and you never see them again. There’s no way to get anything if you have a problem there’s no way to ask for anything else if something is missing, there’s no way to fix your order if it’s wrong. They’re getting an 18% tip for literally walking container to your seat. To me an 18% gratuity is something you give for table service when somebody is attentive and taking care of your needs, bringing water, coming back-and-forth to your table several times. A forced 18% gratuity is absolutely unacceptable in a movie theater situation. The fact that the food was barely edible, and in fact neither of us finished even half of our meal, and it was $48 for a burger, fries, and a quesadilla would ensure that we never ever ordered food at this establishment again. Go to see a movie sure. Anything else absolutely not.

Not I've did my children have the time of their lives so did I!! The magic show was awesome! The magician was very engaging with the audience. They had many crafts for the kids to do and pumpkin making. This was a great event

It's a great area with lots of restaurants and shops. One star off for the parking situation. It's got a paid parking garage, but the directions about the tickets, how to get validation, where the ticket payment kiosk is, all that was very confusing. I was to wander around the garage for a while to find the kiosk. While I was wandering I saw the most American thing I've ever seen, a giant pick up truck parked across two compact car spaces. That's not necessarily their fault I just thought it's funny.

The Boro Tysons in Virginia is a fantastic destination for events! We’ve been to their spring and Halloween events, and each brought in unique, engaging experiences that appeal especially to kids, but also all ages. They do a great job of setting up a variety of activities for kids to keep their attention for a few hours. They’ve also had live music, face painting, a magician and a palm reader to add to the ambience. One of the best parts about events at The Boro is how well they’re planned and organized. If you’re looking for a memorable event experience in Northern Virginia, bring your kids to The Boro Tysons and enjoy one of their many dining options afterwards. Highly recommended!
