The Bower House Restaurant & Rooms

Stayed in the hotel and ate in the restaurant. What an amazing place. Room was really nice. Bath tub and shower were excellent and kings size bed really comfortable. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The lemon meringue pie souffle was a highlight. The chef was really accommodating with food allergies. The breakfast in the morning was also lovely with a nice selection. The staff were awesome and friendly from when you first walk in to when you leave. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed in the Blue Room which was lovely. The room is large and the bathroom is great with a freestanding bath and separate shower. An air conditioning unit and fan were in the room which was appreciated because it was the hottest day of June! The continental breakfast was very nice. I would recommend staying at the Bower House 10/10 from us.

Amazing. I could not recommend this restaurant more highly. The service was incredible - friendly people, with no request being too much. The food was outstanding. Each dish was excellent; full of flavor, great portion size, perfect timing. We loved that the chefs came out to deliver the dishes! It is easy to see why this team have won consecutive awards. Well done! What a treat.

Had my birthday meal today (Sunday), which i was very much looking forward to after reading the reviews. Sadly our experience wasn't good. Food was mediocre for the price - mackerel starter not worth a mention, the roast would be adequate if it wasn't for cold Yorkshire pudding,and incredibly hard roast potatoes (meaning they were sitting somewhere on standby until reheated). What really let the whole experience down was the cold, unengaging, sort of "I hate working Sundays " service. I was really excited for this meal due to Michelin rosettes awarded..Very disappointing experience. What happened,guys?

Came here for Sunday lunch and had a three course special menu of handmade scallop ravioli to start, beef rump with trimmings for main and lemon meringue soufflé for dessert. Food was great, the beef was very tender and the dessert was to die for. Service fantastic too, thank you for making our Sunday special!

We've been dining at the bower house for many years now, and will do so for years to come. The events they host, the food, the service is one the best, if not the best. I'm always recommending it whenever I get the chance as it's just perfect dining experience. Love it!

4 of us had dinner last night, the starters of red mullet with lobster sauce were sublime as was the smoked salmon. Mains of Stone bass, duck and beautifully cooked lamb were thoroughly noenjoyed. Lovely place , very relaxed dining in a friendly environment. Bonus point? Richard Burton narrating over a speaker in the loos!! Class!

We had a table booked this coming Sunday 20th July! I received an email to say my table had been cancelled as I hadn’t sent over my card details! I did and is in my sent box, so I called them, I couldn’t re-send card details at the time as in hospital, I said to the gentleman maybe I should try somewhere else and he put the phone down on me! We were very excited about returning but obviously that is not going to happen now!
