11 Great Nashville Bars To See Live Music 2024

"You know it’s going to be a fun night when the bartender pauses making drinks to run over to the stage and introduce the acts. Welcome to the Bowery Vault, a vintage store and coffee shop by day, and a bar and listening room by night. This bar is housed in a former East Nashville brothel (yes, really) and has musicians playing everything from plucky queer pop and heart-rending folk to synth-heavy indie. The production value is pretty impressive given the small size of the venue, and acts take on a friendly, conversational tone with their audiences thanks to the close proximity. The bar menu has cocktails featuring beer and cider as their bases rather than liquor, and also includes a refreshing variety of creative non-alcoholic beverages like the Terma Patagonia, a take on Argentinian mate. Relaxed space that is great for listening to live music and grabbing a drink. Excellent for hosting a music event.

Dropped in for a show and a couple of drinks. Friendly staff in a nice intimate setting. Looking forward to seeing another show here. Enjoy

We came a few weeks ago to attend a concert on a Friday night. This is a really cool little venue! Parking wasn't a terrible struggle the night of, though we wound up paying a small fee to park at a bar that was down one building. Honestly, I was just relieved we found a spot within easy walking distance. We arrived a few minutes late unfortunately and the lights were already a little dim so I couldn't see the place as well as I wanted. Our tickets and IDs were checked as we walked in. The venue is located on the second floor above another business. The steps are a little steep to watch your heels if you're wearing them! Inside there's a small stage and a nice bar. Seating is pretty limited but for our concert the vibe was definitely super high energy/party focused so we didn't mind standing up to bounce and dance to the music. The bar has a nice array of specialty cocktails. I was very impressed with the bartender, Marc, who was attentive, fun, and hardworking. He even went out of his way to help the performer when a few small details went awry on the stage. I don't drink super often and what I wound up ordering didn't taste quite like how I'd hoped it would, but I'm more than willing to chalk that up to my relative inexperience and general ambivalence toward alcohol. The sound/acoustics were great and the whole place was bumpin! I would advise bringing ear plugs to protect your hearing if you're headed to a loud concert -- you'll inevitably be fairly close to the performer and therefore it can easily be suuuuuper loud with the mics and amps and whatnot. I had a great time but will try to remember mine next time! The only main drawback was it got hot inside super fast. We stood by the open entryway for much of the conference and even that airflow wasn't enough to keep us from leaving very, very sweaty lol. Bring water! Overall, a fun venue and a great night out for us! Thanks, TBV!

Really great atmosphere and set-up. Everyone was so kind and friendly. The soul/jazz music was incredible! Extremely talented artists

Any time we come to Nashville for music (not as often as we wish!) we ALWAYS hit The Bowery Vault. This is where you can see the best Nashville artists/musicians trying out new material, in an intimate setting with great acoustics and where the audience is truly there to listen to music. It has the best most authentic underground vibe in Nashville. Love this place.

Google
This is a music venue pretending to be a vintage clothing store. We showed up to look at the clothes and there was a bouncer that did not want to let us in because of a “sold out concert.” We finally were allowed to look and all they had was two small racks of “vintage clothing” thrown into a cramped corner. I’m sure it’s a decent concert venue, but If you’re looking for vintage clothing in Nashville, don’t waste your time like we did.

It was ok. Im not impressed with the fact that online there was a $7+ service fee for tickets, and then at the door as well, a $15 ticket somehow became a $20 ticket. This place isn't worth that kind of price for entry with no liquor license and the limited drink menu, plus the limited seating and SRO. I think $10 is sufficient to charge to get in there. The sound was really good though for such a small venue. That was impressive. Also I'm never gonna be ok with a venue that doesnt have a free parking lot.

Google
$4 in “service fees” for a $10 ticket at the door. And you can’t pay cash. High production fees to local artists = less money in the pockets of struggling musicians. I miss when this place felt like it was supporting a local community. Feels like a cash grab now. Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge, Vinyl Tap, 5 Spot, The Underdog.. other venues close by with cheaper cover charges & drinks. Not to mention more seating and better food.

Yelp
This is THE most intimate venue to see an artist in Nashville. The Bowery Vault has an incredible tap into what makes Nashvilles music scene so extraordinary interesting. If you are looking for a loud bar with hundreds of people talking over the band, this place isn't for you...But, if you are looking for a venue where you can hear a pin drop than this is the place. Vero and Emily (the owners) are an incredible team who have successfully cultivated a unique and standout environment. The live music scene in east Nashville might not be what it once was pre pandemic, but the Bowery Vault is on the front end of a revitalization... Go here, you won't be sorry you did.

Yelp
Ellie and Emily were excellent hosts for a Thursday night open mic. They are also the most friendly people we met this week in Nashville, I mean everyone in Nashville were friendly, just Emily and Ellie were extra! Cozy and very good sounding stage. Rich and decadent espresso. Unique vintage clothing for men and women, with affordable pricing. Very cool rock bike leather jackets made by Bowery Vault. Will be back!

Yelp
Wow! This place is new kind of place for me. I came here because my husband was doing a show here but when I got here I saw it was also a store? Yes! Like a clothing store and a bar... Welcome to Nashville guys! You can have it all, shopping, live music and cocktails all right at one place. They have different shows throughout the week so check their website for show times and artists info. They place IS SUPER TINY with only a few tables (4?) available so definitely get there with plenty of time. They have a beer only at I believe so if you want liquor you can go to the bars below in the same building. Definitely a place to check out for a cool and different kind of night.

Yelp
Really cool place to hang out. I was visiting Nashville on a trip and decided to stop by because it had good reviews. The place was smaller than I thought but the music was great and all from smaller artists. Drinks were good too and priced well.

Yelp
Today, I had the good fortune of discovering The Bowery Vault. To say this artfully curated vintage clothing shop has charm is an understatement. It's a time portal. Hang out, have a beer, try on some (affordable!) clothes, hope you catch a talented band while they're on residency. Either way, GO THERE.

Yelp
This place is so awesome and welcoming! I bought an authentic leather jacket and I can't wait to wear it. At night, this place turns into a music venue. I will have to come back and check it out. Definitely worth a spot to stop by!

Yelp
We were visiting Nashville for the weekend and found out about the Bowery Vault from a friend that lives in town. Really glad to have gotten the recommendation, as this turned out to be one of our favorite spots in Nashville. It's super interesting (local artists, beer, vintage fashion, and even a selection of cassettes!) and really authentic. Really got to feel the local experience as opposed to a lot of the more tourist-y areas in town. The owners were super friendly, and we quickly made friends with some of the other regulars. Really wish we had more time to swing by more!

Yelp
Awesome concept. Part boutique, part venue, any place that you can drink a beer while shopping is good in my book. Very cool, albeit limited, selection of goods. Definitely worth checking out, especially during a performance.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Came across it while visiting Nashville. They are hidden in the building behind Mickhey's Tavern. Such a cool place. They have great vintage rock and roll gear and an amazing stage with full back line. Was blown away by this place, never seen anything like it even in LA. MUST GO and experience! Vero and Emily who run this place are badass!

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place last night, while hanging at the bar next door. We were bummed to have just missed a live concert. And, we could not have hit a sweeter spot, at the end of the night. The owners of the store greeted us, and introduced themselves. I spotted a hand-painted shirt I loved. They customized a shirt for me. No, I mean, one owner found me the right size in a tee. The other owner hand-painted the tee, while we waited. And they just chatted and gave us great recommendations for the rest of our trip in Nashville. I heart my Bowery Vault tee. It's way better than the cheesy alternative souvenir, found in any Nashville crappy gift shop. This spot has vintage clothes, music, beer, they are welcoming to everyone. And, it's owned by two rockin' ladies. Go. Now.

Yelp
As a performer I highly recommend the Bowery Vault. The Owners Vero and Emily are extremely accommodating in terms of setting up and take down as well as giving performers the best sounding performance. Now if they just serve some JD.......

Yelp
Stopped in yesterday to find some great vintage pieces for my friend's 70s themed birthday bash. We found the perfect dress for her, and I even walked out with a really cool pair of Chelsea boots. The best part about it all was the service, the ladies were absolutely incredible, so helpful and sweet. They made us feel so special and welcome there. We even walked out of The Bowery Vault with hugs! Other vintage shops around town just don't compare. The people, the high level of customer service, the one of a kind items, and the ambiance are all hands down top notch. I will definitely be coming back again and again.

Yelp
Amazing little shop, stage and hangout. They have loads of fashions from $5 up. Vero was there to help me with styling. The changing rooms and overall decor made it super comfortable. Plus it's a stage wear shop and if you're feeling bold you can jump onto the stage and test out your look right away. So happy to have this addition to East Nashville.
