Meat Supply Chain Shortages Cause Problems for Seattle Food Trucks | Eater Seattle

"As meat processing plants across the country have struggled with COVID-19-related closures, I report that Kirkland’s Asian-fusion specialist The Box on Wheels faced difficulties sourcing meat and other ingredients from suppliers, and that the cost of available items has climbed roughly 25 percent or higher—adding to the uncertainty for local food trucks and contributing to closures when trucks couldn’t obtain beef." - Gabe Guarente

Google
Miso burger with the pork belly was delicious. Sweetness from the Miso was strong but went well with the napa slaw acidity and savory patty and pork belly slab. Loco Mocos were standard with a heavy portion of rice, two decently sized patties and two medium eggs. The gravy was well portioned and it tasted exactly like it should. The atmosphere is fairly bland and empty-feeling with basic front counter service with table delivery. For prices on the higher side and a lacking atmosphere I wouldn't come out of my way to visit, but if in the area it's a good place to try.

The first time I ate the burger was so crazy yummy, probably the best I had in years, today I invited my son and wife after my sons’ soccer game. We order the chicken / rice and salad and burger for my son. Let me tell you it was so delicious and yummy. The price is normal and average for the quality of the food .

Google
Overall good food. The burger was solid, nicely cooked and good flavors. The fries were frozen type so nothing special. The kalbi rice bowl was nice. Meat was tasty though maybe slightly overcooked. The salad was very good. Id come back to try more on the menu. Update Came back to try and few more things and the food was even better. The Hawaiian chicken plate is amazing. So flavorful and cooked perfectly. The American melt was very good also. Our least favorite was the bibimbap burger. The flavors of the veggies are a bit strong. One constructive criticism would be to enhance the fries. Maybe add a a bulgogi with cheese fries or kalbi fries.

Google
probably the best food I've ever had this place is so amazing and the chicken corgi is so juicy and beautiful sauce on top of it. The salmon is so flaky and perfect it's delightful! The mini bagel burger is like heaven in your mouth. Don't even get me started on the fries. This chop salad is so delicious and fresh and splendid. the made in house sauce was amazing! This place is a 10 out of 10. I totally recommend it.

Google
Both burgers that we got were really good. I got the French and my friend got the bipimbap. the burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were really tasty as well.

Google
Was in the area getting my car serviced and they recommended this place. Did not expect it to be this good right next to a gas station and a Fred Meyer but wow. Got a couple of bao and some fries for a reasonable price, fresh and hot, and friendly folks!

Google
Five stars all around! The food was incredibly flavorful every bite was juicy and delicious. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was on point! You can really tell care goes into every dish. The customer service was amazing, and Sanita especially made the experience even better with her great food recommendations. Be sure to ask her for advice if you’re not sure what to get! And the restaurant itself was spotless super clean, which is always a big plus in my book. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
A great burger place to try. Love the flavor and texture combos.

Yelp
Phenomenal! We were in town visiting and searched for high rated place to have lunch and this did not disappoint. It's non descript in a strip mall, order at the counter and they'll bring it to your table. I had the mini bagel burger which was so good - the sriracha and hoisin really made it! I also had the kalua pork bao, also delicious. My husband went with the Karaage and said it was excellent. Service was great and we'll definitely be back if in the area.

Yelp
Always a must whenever we have a craving for "Local Hawaii Food" in the PNW (Seattle area); the best place to get a taste of Hawaii that is more than a Fast Food Chain. Whether it's a quick lunch or a group of 16 people for dinner, they're a great choice with the best staff and nicest people around. It's family friendly and so easy to get to right off the freeway, but also so good for parties because they also make great food for parties!

Yelp
Seriously yummy burgers and karage. We tried the Da Box chicken burger and its gochumiso sauce is crazy good! The Bimbimbap burger was very juicy. We loved the chicken karage rice plate too. The servings are big and commensurate with the prices!
google avatar

Joanne W.

Yelp
The food was quite good! The kimchi fried rice was a pretty decent portion for what it's worth. The service was good too. You could order in person or if you want to avoid human interaction then there is a kiosk and they bring the food out at a reasonable time. The interior is nice and clean and also quite decorated. They don't have servers checking up on you which is fine since you don't really order with a waiter just the counter. I love the Asian fusion foods a lot like the burgers they have. They do have non burger items of course.

Yelp
I'll post a pic of my lunch. Eastside, Kirkland peeps-- I won't gate keep: try this place! Service was good! They're is a self serve kiosk to check out if there's someone ahead of you. Ambiance: Clean and warm. They had Hawaii themed trinkets and cards for sale too.

Yelp
Very cute and clean place in a hard to find shopping complex. I ordered the bibimbap burger. At $14 that's an amazing value. Fries and chopped salad were both well made. Overall lots of interesting things to try on their unique menu- will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
The restaurant wasn't crowded when I went for lunch on a Saturday. Order and pay at the kiosk, so you can use Apple Pay or other digital wallets. Service was friendly but a bit slow, took a while to get the food. I got the Hawaiian style fried chicken for around $17. There was a good amount of chicken and rice, and it tasted pretty good. It's a casual place, and I would come here again. Also tried the chicken karaage ($17) and kalbi yakiniku ($17) plates. Chicken karaage is the same fried chicken as Hawaiian style but slightly different sauce. The kalbi was a bit tough so I wouldn't get that one again.

Yelp
I fell in love with The Box when I tried them at their food truck years ago and have been hooked since. My favorite of course is their chicken karaage and the chopped salad. It's a delicious combo. I get to their Kirkland eatery when I can or find them at the Bellevue Farmer's Market. Hubby's fav is a burger on top of salad and daughter enjoys the Hawaiian chicken plate. Let's not forget the side of fries. They have a new kiosk ordering system that allows you to make adjustments like sub extra chicken or salad instead of rice - love that!

Yelp
- Delicious karaage - I can't believe I haven't written a review yet, but I've been here 3 or 4 times and it's been good. We got: 1. chicken karaage plate (Boneless lightly fried chicken, sweet & tangy house sauce, steamed white rice, side of chop chop salad) - $17 2. Hawaiian loco moco (2 beef and pork patties, 2 sunny side up eggs with gravy and steamed white rice) - $16.5. There were only 2 other groups dining at 6:30 pm on a Thursday, so we didn't wait for too long despite the fact that one group just ordered right before us. The loco moco wasn't too special for me, but the chicken karaage was good and there were 8 pieces. The salad was also standard but refreshing. We haven't been back here for a while since there are so many new places in Totem Lake these days, but I like how I always enjoy my meals here.

Yelp
Stopped by this spot while in Kirkland and it was solid! The restaurant itself is small, but there were plenty of tables open when we were there on a Saturday. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. You order at the counter and then they brought our food to our tables. The food is really generous portions and was delicious. We had to get a small box to take some home as the portions are large. I had the Miso Hungry burger and my husband had the chicken karaage plate. The burger was really flavorful but it is really heavy. The chicken karaage plate was less unique but it was cooked really well and had good flavor. Solid option for a quick bite in Kirkland.

Yelp
Im very confused by amazing reviews. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. I will come back to try their burgers. You order at the register and food is brought out to you. Ordered the Asian glass noodle salad with marinated shrimp. It's huge, comes with lots of noodles and 3 shrimp marinated in ginger. But they forgot to take the ginger chunks off haha. It was too overwhelming. The salad was drenched in an overly sweet dressing. Didn't enjoy this at all. And we ordered the beef kalbi plate. The beef was tasty but too little meat. Also in a very sweet sauce but it was not bad. The chop chop salad was EXTRA boring and also SWEET dressing. Why!?!?! I am debating if it deserves 4 stars. I wish I could give 3.5. I'll have to come try it again to make up my mind.

Yelp
Came here over the weekends and wanted to get something light for lunch. I've been here a few times already mainly for takeout but haven't gotten a chance to review them. Upon entering the restaurant, the friendly staff greeted us with a smile. You basically order at the counter then find a seat. We knew what we wanted to order and decided to get the pan seared salmon and chicken karaage plate. One of my health goals is to eat less carbs. So I avoided rice and got extra chop chop salad instead. Oh my goodness was that salad tasted so good! They make the best salad in house and can cater to your health needs. The salmon tasted delicious and is marinated well with sweet miso. The chicken karaage was our favorite. It was lightly deep fried and coated with a sweet glazed sauce. Definitely one of our favorites! FYI you can order ahead online to avoid the wait. We ordered in person but didn't have to wait too long. There's also plenty of parking throughout the plaza. Will for sure come back again whenever I'm around the area. I wished they weren't too far away from me!

Yelp
Their food is fresh, healthy and really delicious. Location is great in Totem Lake by Fred Meyer and priced lower than expected. Lastly the staff are super sweet and helpful. I go back often for the Miso belly burger and salads.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday night and the inside was quiet and clean. It's an order at the stall kind of establishment but someone will bring the food out to you. Overall, a nice additional burger spot in Kirkland but I found the burger party to be more meat-loafy than that beefy American burger flavor. Not my personal preference but I definitely see the craftsmanship the restaurant puts into designing the menu!

Yelp
We played a little Yelp roulette today and ended up at The Box Burger and eatery and I would have to say this was one of the best places we've been to lately. It's located in a strip mall, it is very cozy when you walk in, and it is spotless. The woman behind the counter was very cheery and bright and very welcoming. We both decided on plates. I got the Hawaiian Fried chicken and my wife got the Kalbi. Both were out of this world, the Chicken was cooked perfectly and had a perfectly thin crunchy crust. It literally was mouth watering. The chop chop salad that came with it I could eat all day long, perfect compliment to the chicken. The only thing I was wanting was a little sauce for the rice that came with it. But let's be real, I smothered whatever juice was left from the chicken and demolished that too. My wife picked the Kalbi plate, which was just as good. Funny thing is that we were the only people that had plates, everyone else had burgers in front of them. It made me think to myself were they missing out or were we? Either way I can tell you we will frequent this establishment even if it is a drive from where we live. I absolutely can't wait to eat my way through the rest of this menu. If you're in the area, go here, you'll be happy you made the stop! See ya soon!

Yelp
A last minute stop for dinner and the food was delicious. We had the Hawaiian Chicken and the Chicken Karaage plate. The sauce was so tasty! And the salad ... I wish I could have the recipe for that dressing! Well beback to try more items.

Yelp
I could sum up my experience here with one simple word: AMAZING. But strap yourself in, gang, because why stop at one word when we have hundreds, nay thousands, (perhaps...millions?) of words at our disposal?! I rarely comment on this in my reviews, but I was absolutely impressed with the aesthetics of this joint. It was impeccably clean, had a chill open-space vibe, and modern-minimalist feel. Love the decor's little details -- you can tell it was very thoughtfully designed. Also they sell some adorable pins and stickers designed by a local artist-- I couldn't resist buying a few (see below). Then there's the food! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I had quite a few items while I was there with a large group, each better than the last. Definitely some of the best fries I've ever had (I've had a lot of fries over the years, okay? It's my benchmark...). Everyone who works here was incredibly hospitable and warm. That always means a lot to me. After a long day grinding, it helps to add some positive vibes to your take-out order...especially at the low, low price of $FREE.99! (Get it? Kindness doesn't cost a thing? I'll see myself out.) Anyway, looking forward to coming back ASAP. Thanks for feeding me fam!

Yelp
I've been stalking Reis and his food truck for years now and it was great to find out he was finally opening a restaurant. The food truck favorites are all there (pork belly bau, kalua pork bau, mini bagel burger, chicken karaage, and kalbi), but they are joined by a whole bunch of new creations. I've been slowly working my way through the menu, but it is getting a lot harder, because I'm starting to add to my list of favorites. Creations like Da Hilo Boy are like a Loco Moco in a bun. Miso Hungry is a decadent creation... braised pork belly on top of one of the already wonderful burgers.

Yelp
Amazing fresh ground beef burger cooked medium with a Macrina freshly baked potato bun. Nice attention to detail on what is the important part of a burger. Also the yuzu infused aioli for the French fries was an unexpected treat. Fiends ordered the pork belly bao and chopped salad and said that they were amazing. Hard to believe this place began as a good truck. Saw that they received several rewards over the years. I need to come back and try some of the other offerings. Definitely worth a side trip in Seattle to try this place. Aloha!
google avatar

Christiana H.

Yelp
I was headed to a wedding shower and didn't want finger foods. I typed in restaurants from the interstate and landed here. WHAT A TREAT. I had my partner and best friend with me. We loved everything. I've been looking for a burger place here that impresses me and found one by accident. I could not believe they weren't busier. The cashier was super sweet and welcoming. The restaurant was really clean and open with good lighting too. Also, easy parking. I swear everything was made with love. I love when you can tell that the chef truly loves his or her craft. Definitely recommend and I will be back.

Yelp
Omg I was craving a burger like a Keebler elf craves cookies.... it was bad folks... I don't eat meat often so when I do... it is a love affair. I inhaled my medium rare bibimbap in like five minutes. Sorry I didn't have the self restraint to take a pic before I began wolfing it down. So delicious. Wasn't spicy enough so slathered on some sriracha. Fries were perfection. Hit the spot. I began to moan, it got pretty intimate, that's how much I needed the fix. Quick service, thank heavens coz she knew I looked desperate for my party. Atypical Asian flavored burgers, well worth the stop! Next time I'd ask for it to be more rare and less medium.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped for lunch on our way back to Portland and because it's near to a Tesla charging station. Great choice! What a cute little shop, with friendly staff. Food takes a while, but it was definitely worth it. We had the French Blues burger and the chicken Karaage plate - both were huge portions and so good! The chicken came with a side chopped salad that was enormous too. We ended up taking half of each home with us. So good!
google avatar

Viv S.

Yelp
We tried Da Hilo Boy Burger, attracted by the sunny-side-up fried egg on the loco moco patty. The mushroom is all chopped up, same as the chopped bacon placed inside the burger, even tho they are all in small bites, they are super flavorful. The highlight is the Hawaiian Style Fried Chicken plate. The sauce on the fried chicken is soooo good!!! Good pairing with chop chop salad on the side. We will definitely come back to try different things on the menu.
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
This place makes some tasty burgers! We went to The Box right at open and ordered a couple of burgers. Everything is made fresh so it took about 15 minutes. Absolutely worth the small wait! The burger patties were perfectly cooked and very juicy. They were thick and reminded me of a really good patty you'd make at home, clearly handmade. The buns were soft, but firm enough to hold up to all of the juicy stuff in between. I had Da Hilo Boy burger. It was very savory but well balanced, I absolutely loved it. It gets pretty messy as the fried egg yolk, gravy, mushrooms, onions and bacon confit will all spill out fairly easily, but it was so good, I ate what fell off my burger with a fork. My wife had La Baca Loca burger. It was pretty good as well, not too spicy despite the peppers (perfect for her, I'd have been ok with more jalapeño). It can sometimes be easy for pickled ingredients to overpower a burger in my opinion, but that wasn't the case here, it was excellent! And our fries were tasty too, my wife really loved the aioli. I saw a couple other people order some of the plates and they looked tasty as well. Also, they had a good local selection of beers, including several beers from Triplehorn, a couple of which I can't recall seeing outside of their taproom. Only negative was maybe the price? 50 dollars for two burgers. 1 fry, 1 beer and 1 fountain drink and tip. I don't know, I suppose that's the going rate in this area nowadays. The food was more than worth it though! I will hopefully find an excuse to come back here soon.
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
I've had a burger here a few times. It's very filling, we got fries but it's like too much food if you are by yourself. Especially for a work day, you'd be in a food coma. Really unique flavors, great bun. Ordering at the counter is pretty easy, I am never sure what to drink and end up getting a Hawaiian juice drink of some sort. Parking was a bit of an issue my last time in. Super popular for lunch.
google avatar

Mellissa B.

Yelp
This place is so good!! We ordered The French Blues, Chicken Karaage, and Hawaiian Loco Moco and it was so good!! The fries were perfect and came with like a lemon sauce? It is also good with the burger too but actually don't know what it is actually for so I just put it on everything and it was good on everything!! Service was nice and I came here around Halloween so the place was also decorated!! Such a nice place and will come back to try more since while we were ordering the food coming out looked so good!!
google avatar

William H.

Yelp
Needed some food and found this place. I guess it's a Hawaiian Asian fusion spot. It's tucked behind a gas station in a small plaza. I walk in and greeted at the counter. I ordered Hawaiian Fried Chicken & Kalua Pork Bao. Fried Chicken is boneless and good. Salad that came with it had small pieces of meat in it is...it's good. The Kalua Pork was good too. If you're in the area stop by and try this place out.

Mimi Y.

Yelp
Great burgers here. I usually get the bibimbap burger which has all the flavors I like. Pricey, but very good. Burgers: 4 stars Chop salad: 5 stars - I love their salad, it's chopped, crunchy, slightly sweet dressing, but I always get it on the side so I can control how much dressing.
google avatar

Hurst K.

Yelp
I like the concept, and the menu. However the food didn't live up to expectations. It seems like the physical store inherited the food truck reviews. I've never tried the food truck but I assume it must be great. However the physical location just doesn't meet the bar of greatness in my opinion. Pretty ordinary food, ate about half the burger, maybe a 2 star burger at best. Had a few other items, which were about the same rating. Also the chef was sick, no face mask, and I ended up sick a few days later which seemed connected. Restaurant is clean, organized, spacious. The food just didn't hit the spot.
google avatar

Roland R.

Yelp
It's the best place hidden in Kirkland. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was cute. They were busy with regular customers. "That tells you something " if you want good food. That's in a place with no bells or whistles. Go there, it really good food. We will go back!
google avatar

Xuan Z.

Yelp
We visited the box after a day of snowboarding. We learned that you could also order ahead of time since it might take 10 - 20 min for the food to be ready. But we decided to order at the restaurant. It wasn't busy at all when we arrived slightly after 7 PM on a Friday in Dec. Plenty of parking. Many of the items looked really good on the menu. I ordered the pork belly back and the loco moco. The pork belly bun was really tasty (surprisingly good). The pork belly was fatty but not too rich to the taste. It was as if the fat could melt in your mouth. And the lettuce and the sweet sauce balanced it off pretty well. I really really liked the seasoning. Great balance. I also ordered the loco moco, which was just okay. The portion was big. There were two eggs and two patties in each serving. Way too much food for me. The sauce was very authentic. However, I found the patty to be a bit dry. Wish it was juicier. Will definitely visit again and hopefully soon!

Yelp
I found this restaurant on Yelp when I was trying to find a place that would accommodate a group of 12 near us. They were super friendly, accommodating, and had our table ready for us with extra utensils and napkins as well when we got in. The person working the register was so friendly and thanked us for choosing their restaurant for our party. Not only was the service great, the food was amazing AND they brought it all out in such a short period that we all got to enjoy and eat together at the same time. I got the short rib and karaage mix plate and my partner got a burger. We both really loved the food (as well as the rest of our group), and are looking forward to coming back soon!!!! Highly recommend for a delicious meal, or group gathering!
google avatar

Nicoleen P.

Yelp
Not sure what happened here. The food was nothing like the online reviews -- maybe those were from their food truck days? Burger was tough, kimchi rice was bland, and my friend got sick after we noticed the staff looked sick too. Only the pork bun was decent. Definitely not worth the price.
google avatar

Alan Z.

Yelp
Came here on a weekend and there was a line but it was moving decently quickly. Food took around 20-30 minutes which was okay. The beef skewers were good but I don't think the sauce on top was very good since it was just too overwhelming. The salad was also just decent, it was a little too sweet for my taste.
google avatar

Clint W.

Yelp
I have been forgetting to find this place for YEARS after falling in love with their food truck. It's now the place we go when we want to go out, but we can't figure out what we want to eat. The Box ALWAYS has one of my favorites.
google avatar

Adam J.

Yelp
Fantastic. Tiny place churning out 5 star restaurant quality food. Including service and presentation.
google avatar

Christopher V.

Yelp
I ordered for pickup through the website and picked up the food right at the scheduled time. When I arrived there were plenty of parking spaces right in front of the restaurant, including 2 spots reserved for people eating at the restaurant. Immediately after I walked in the person at the counter greeted me and handed me the food. There was no music playing inside and there were plenty of seasonal decorations for Christmas. The gravy on the loco moco sets it apart from other loco moco's that I've had in Washington and Hawaii. The meat to bun to toppings ratio on the bibimbap burger were perfect. So much savory goodness. 5 outta 5
google avatar

Ann N.

Yelp
we came at 2pm and it was pretty empty. this restaurant is spacious and clean. i got the miso burger and i was surprised that it included a slice of pork belly along with a beef patty. it was mildly sweet which was a pleasant surprise for a burger. the buns were room temperature which i did not enjoy, but other than that i liked the burger. it wasn't mind blowing, but i still enjoyed it. the hawaiian chicken was the star of the show. it was super crispy, tender, and juicy, and had a similar flavor profile to the burger. i would 100% recommend getting the hawaiian chicken.
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
To the local braddah who started this i wanted to say thank you for serving me up some ono kine grindz. There miso burger never change that it slaps harder than my mom after i got caught cheating on a test. The loco moco might need some small adjustments on da salt level cause some days it hits some days it misses, I'm sure the aunty in the back going by straight feeling. Bulk and knack approved but be ready for 15 mins for made to order food
google avatar

Ana M.

Yelp
Love their fusion burgers! They are between American-Asian-Mexican! All the good stuff. My favourite is their Miso Hungry (wasabi aside but it wasn't that hot so next time will be regular :)), and the bibimbap one. Next, would be back loca (why not Vaca??), Bao, and the prom belly. I 2ill have to come back a few more times to try everything again!! They are well prepared, on point, but it takes quite a bit to get your food. You have to order on the counter by the way and get your drinks from the machine. Self service :S
google avatar

Aditya P.

Yelp
One liner: a bit pricey but a delicious burger joint with great fusion options. $20 per person. It's a bit pricey for a burger with no fries but they definitely nailed the taste, flavor, and composition of burgers. The fusion of Asian ingredients with a classic American bun and cheese is divine. I will eat here again and I did enjoy the friendliness of the staff and the simplicity of the ambience. They have a nice wall art but I feel like they clutter it with furniture a bit. But you know. I'm here to eat. And I'm happy. :)
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
Incredible food. The all American melt was deeply satisfying and complex. Nourishing and fresh at the same time-- the yuzu aioli really popped with the smoked bacon confit. Friendly, fast service in a clean environment. The gentleman at the grill even took a moment to greet us when we entered.
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
I felt like burger today so I drove over and check out this place. Arrived at 1:30pm and the store is close. No reason of why is not open. I was disappointed.
google avatar

Ben K.

Yelp
Love this place! Got to meet the owner who was very friendly. Love their food! Everything in the menu is worth ordering! Come try this place, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Our family's favorite place in Kirkland! It's a quick service walk up and seat yourself. Always clean and customer service is always great! Our favorite dishes are the Hawaiian Fried Chicken, Kalbi, and chop chop salad. We will be back!

Yelp
This place exceeded my expectations. My brother in law talks about this place all the time, and called it "The Box". For years I thought it was a bento box place. He suggested that we go out to lunch this weekend here. Agreeing, I looked up the menu and was a little confused. There were bao buns and French fries and Hawaiian dishes and Korean fried chicken and burgers. My first thought was that this place was doing too much and sometimes with a mix of items it doesn't always work/taste good. I was wrong. So wrong. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Medium sized seating area but because they are so popular/busy it seemed small. You order at the front and then have a seat and they bring it out to you. I chose the chicken karaage plate. Instead of rice, I substituted fries and it came with the chop chop salad. The chop chop salad alone is a reason to come back. Omg it so good. Unique as I haven't had a salad like it before. The fries were shoestring, came out piping hot and tasty. The fries automatically come with a yuzu aioli dipping sauce and I was skeptical about it but that combination was so tasty together! The karaage chicken was very flavorful. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was delicious. I'll be back for sure to try more things!

Yelp
The food and service here were amazing! This was my first time in and I was greeted with a smile. Summer was so sweet to us and helped us decide what to try for our first time! I will definitely be coming back to try the rest of their menu. I also love the little stickers and greeting cards they have for sale at the register!

Yelp
The food was very good. This place puts tipsy cow to shame. The burger toppings were unique and flavorful. The fries were thin and crispy. The yuzu dipping sauce was also yummy. We all loved the kids katsu chicks strips. I wonder why they don't have an adult version of it. It was some of the best katsu I have ever had!

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't written a review for the box. It's been sitting in my draft for so long! When It first opened, we actually stumbled across it and so got to try right away. Was happy to find a Hawaiian burger spot. At the time, there wasn't any around. My kids actually loved their food too, only con was there wasn't much fries! The fries were crispy and light. The Loco moco was tasty and reminded me of the ones in Hawaii, but much smaller plate than Hawaii. Burger was still a good size and juicy. Always get it with an egg. It's 2x better with an egg! The prices have gone up but still decent. Chop chop salad is also delightful, one of my favorites. Place is usually clean and service is good, they have a smile on their faces. You walk up to order, and they'll give you a number. It's kind of a self-service spot, good for lunch and kids.
