After hearing many people talk about this place, I decided to check it out myself. My first impression was the parking lot which was horrible to park, but I was lucky enough to catch somebody backing out, and I could pull right in. I grabbed a cart, and they have a cart wash, a sanitizing unit that you push the cart through, much like a car wash. As you entered, they talked about practicing social distancing. They made you wash your hands in sanitizer all before entering the store. Once I got into the store, I realized not even a cockroach could social distant with all the people in there, but everybody was wearing masks and being cautious.
As I walk through the store, it looks like a typical farmers market type of a place until I got towards the back of the store, and I went, "wow" this is one of those places that have the wow factor built into it. They had plenty of variety of just about anything that you wanted, fresh bread, fresh cake, cooked food, fresh vegetables, you name it was there including cheese. We wound up picking out some veggies some potatoes.
unfortunately, I picked out a Russian coffee cake made of apricot, a chocolate Babka, and a blueberry pie. The apricot coffee cake didn't make it into the house too long as it was devoured within 10 minutes of arriving. It was absolutely delicious coffee cake; I looked at the Babka about 30 minutes later and I heard the Babka calling my name; as much as I try to ignore it, it kept saying "come here" in the same voice you heard in the movie "little shop of horror". I felt that I was Seymour trying to get away from the bobka, but I lost. I must say that this is probably the best Babka that I have ever had or, if not the best, very close.
I was very impressed with everything I saw there, very impressed at the cakes, and that poor empanada that didn't even make it to the car before it was devoured and that was also very good. I'm hoping the Babka lasts until tomorrow, and the blueberry pie can make it to the weekend, but I'm not making any promises. You really need to go down here and check this place out if you haven't already
I noticed they have it Italian section where they served I believe it was stuffed shells lasagna, I didn't find the pizza to the very end which is actually what I was looking for before I grabbed the empanada. As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say, "I'll be back"
