The Brass Bird

I have lived in Pineville for 20+ years and have been pleased with the growth! I went into the Brass Bird this morning and was so excited with all the lovely merchandise they had! However, my excitement was diminished by the customer service. I was the only patron in at the time, but was pretty much invisible. I attempted to engage with an employee and received minimal reaction. I loved so many things and my credit card was ready! This was my perfect place! My desire gradually lessoned as I stood and contemplated whether to support this establishment. To make matters worse, another employee (who I learned was the owner) walked past me with no greeting, no acknowledgement, NOTHING. She passed me by quietly, sat down at the front table and proceeded to work on her laptop. I would think she would have greeted me, introduced herself and shared all her store had to offer.....I am always looking for different venues to facilitate my many networks and this will not be on the list. I will not assume that because I am a black woman that my demographic is not what she prefers. Apparently, she is doing so well that money differs with the spender.

Me and my friend randomly walked past this place while waiting for the restaurant next to open so we decided to look around and I’m so glad we did! It is an extremely beautiful space and very welcoming. Great selection of wine and snacks. 1/2 price wine on Thursdays!! Also has some decor in the back. We were helped by Destiny and she is the reason that I will be returning. She is so personable and patient. Thank you Destiny! Definitely worth a visit!

This is what downtown Pineville needed. Love the local goodies that are amazing quality and the events at the Brass Bird. Everytime we visit everyone is always so kind and helpful🩶

This charming shop offers a wonderful selection of locally sourced goods, making it the perfect place to pick up unique gifts or treats. Love this shop, grab a glass of wine and get in some retail therapy with so many fun things to find. Love that they are open later so I can shop. Enjoy all the fun Pineville and Charlotte swag they have. My Pineville canvas bag is still going strong a year later.

I came to love this place since it opened. Not because of its wine selection (mediocre, amateur), or its locally sourced products (well-intentioned products you buy after a few drinks), but because most of the employees—who I had never known prior to this—were thoughtful, kind, energetic, and warm. The type of place you go to because it feels like a community. Recently, those employees were let go, without cause or explanation. As such, I left this review: “At one point, this was my favorite place in Pineville. Not for the wine and beer, but it was the employees that made the environment feel warm and inviting--a true neighborhood establishment. However, for reasons unknown, the ownership has decided to pursue several personnel changes that have entirely soured the place. I can find wine and artisanal products anywhere, but the rare quality that made this place what it used to be--the people--is gone. I'm looking forward to finding a new watering hole. The Brass Bird will no longer have any of our money.” The same night I wrote this review, the husband of the owner found me in a nearby bar (likely deliberately, as he was alone and moved with purpose) to directly and physically threaten me for writing the above review. In front of my friends and family. While I’m pleased to report the situation did not escalate, it speaks to the character of the establishment itself. I would not feel safe, secure, or comfortable to ever set foot in this place again. Please do not patronize.

On the way to dinner next door, I spotted the friendly welcoming setup here at The Brass Bird and had to pop in to look around. All sorts of Charlotte and Pineville and North Carolina gifts and locally made products available here. Quite welcoming and friendly, Mrs. K. and I browsed and spotted a few interesting tidbits. We ended up settling on two local enhanced beers from their cooler and some chips. The former for her and the latter for me. Delicious. Maybe a little expensive but this is retail. When we walked past after dinner, they were closed for a private event - a book club was meeting here. Cool!

What a perfect addition to Main Street! My group and I stopped in here last Saturday for the rosé event and this was my first visit to the Brass Bird. I was having trouble figuring out exactly what it is, and of course I was always keen to visit on a Sunday when they're closed. Well, finally made it in, and found a cute shop and bar with local goods (jams, spreads, snacks, candies...) and a great bar menu/bottle shop. The staff were so friendly, and we enjoyed sitting at the tables in the front enjoying our wine, watching the Main Street activities outside. I really can't wait to go back! This will also be a great spot to stop in for hostess gifts and the like.

What an pleasant surprise! This is so beautiful! Half price wine on Thursday... friendly knowledgeable staff- organic and gluten free foods- come relax and have a wonderful girl night!
