"A sympathetic refurbishment has left this village pub with a contemporary look but still plenty of rustic character. It was rescued by the locals and you’ll always find a group of regulars and their dogs by the fire. Pub favourites sit alongside more modern dishes and are cooked with confidence and ambition." - Michelin Inspector

A friend recommend this gastropub and it is absolutely exquisite. We had the lunch set menu which was incredible value for money. The food was delicious and we will be back

The food and service is superb, friendly welcome and well balanced menu with a selection of four different dishes for starters, mains and desserts on the set lunch menu. The cooking is very accomplished and the set menu is very reasonably priced. We had a very pleasant Lunch and would recommend a visit to anyone.

Our first visit to The Brewers. An up market village pub. Comfortable and spacious. Staff friendly. What's outstanding is the food. All excellent. Beautifully presented and very tasty. Portion size just right. Minor criticism was the service is slightly slow.

My partner and I visited The Brewers back in March for an anniversary. The setting was warm, cosy and inviting. As it was a special occasion we treated ourselves to the tasting menu, and it didn't disappointment! The food was well balanced, beautifully seasoned and had a great combination of flavours and textures. It was all delivered at a very reasonable pace, allowing us to savour and enjoy each course in our leisurely time. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be returning!!

I first discovered The Brewers in 2019 when I went several times alone or with my son when the rest of the family were busy with sports nearby. We started to go as a family on special occasions and the food was always excellent. Today The Brewers still has excellent food. Perhaps a sign of the times, it is more expensive and portions (certainly the starters) smaller than I remember but the quality is still high. The bar menu, having is disappeared for a while is back as the more exciting sounding Gastro Menu, offering a decent fish and chips, burger and a vegetarian risotto for around £15 each. Full restaurant menu offers great options such as starters of Crab with a lemon grass sauce (really good), Asparagus and Egg, Lamb sweetbreads, and Scallop (yep, a singular large scallop) ranging from £9 to £13 each. Main course of Tomahawk steak for 2 people (£80) was huge with the steak cooked to perfection but needed more of the lovely Chimichurri which was barely there. Salt cod was excellent and is recommended. The Trout was good but the squid ink pasta it came with is rich and may not be to everybody's taste. A tasting menu is available for £75 a head with optional wine pairing for another £40 or so. Somehow despite the food being excellent the experience this time didn't have the same sparkle it has had on previous occasions. The service wasn't as sharp as it has been and there were some frustrations: despite it being a warm summers evening the radiators were on making some diners uncomfortable. We also tried to get some bread to mop up the lovely sauces but this was not possible without paying for £6 for portion of focaccia 🤷‍♂️ The Brewers is expensive but Sam is a fine chef and you should taste his dishes at least once. Hopefully you'll have a great time.

Had lunch here, £25 for 3 courses, and it was one of the best best meals out I’ve had. The food tastes as good as it looks and the staff were great. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic! Highly reccomended we ordered all but the fish off the menu and everything was delicious. Staff very attentive and friendly. Dog friendly, even brought a blaket to keep the dog warm. Nothing was too much, even made sure that the kitchen knew there was a person with a nut allergy and to ensure no cross contamination when in the kitchen. Absolutely 💯 the best place we've eaten whilst on our stay. Met the chef Sam superb food from such a young chef won an award this year suffolk chef of the year this guy has a hell of a career ahead of him. Dan at the front of house was more than happy to stop and chat with us about the history of the place and reccomended some good local butchers
