On the Grid : The Brewhouse

"If you like your beer freshly fermented, follow your nose to the Brewhouse & Kitchen just off The Triangle. The onsite microbrewery has an outstanding selection of craft ales, lagers, porters, IPAs and American-style ales, as well as traditional cider and wheat beer. Pair any pint with a filling selection of sandwiches, burgers and hearty mains. Don’t miss the beer garden out the back, a favourite haunt of the Bournemouth creative sector around the fire or squeezed into the beach huts." - Bright Blue Day

Excellent meal here and good value too. Nice place with good staff. I sat outside which was a pleasant space to enjoy relaxed dining. I'd definitely go back.

Fryer broke only half a menu available we were not told about this prior to the booking. When my main came out mac and cheese consisted of a small amount of pasta 2 small slices of garlic bread and some salad leaves very small portion for the cost. The only reason you got 2 stars is the cheesecake was nice. Doubt I will ever return as not value for a meal. Disappointed

A really great pub, good beer and a friendly Governor. Took a trip down from The Park Inn Southampton, well worth visiting

Highly recommended! Good quality food. We had burgers and focaccia with salad. Great atmosphere and attention. And the gluten free buns of my burger were delicious!

Went in for a couple of beers on New Year's eve. Barman was friendly, and beers were good.

Great little pub. Really friendly staff and customers. No food at present (kitchen being refurbished I believe) but soon to be back on line. They let me bring a sandwich in from the shop a few doors up. Great selection of beers.

I’m working in the area for 3 days. I’m recommended this venue. As I travel up and down the country I have made the same request at many an establishment. Minimum head on my John Smiths please (I find it sits heavy on my stomach). Evenings 1 & 2, no issues, no problems and had an enjoyable experience. Thank you! Evening 3 and my last evening in this area I go in after work and make the same request to be told curtly “you’ll have it as it comes or choose a different beer” So I politely take my pint. I go back for a second and the service was…….not as fluid as it could’ve been. I go back for what would’ve been my 3rd and final drink to be told they’ve sold out-possible I suppose in fairness? What could’ve very easily been a 5 star review has been ruined due to arrogantly and bordering aggressively denying a straight forward request on how I’d like my pint to be served. I found another local pub who didn’t question the request, served me with a smile and was a little cheaper. It also had more customers…..one can only wonder why?

The owners are so incredibly lovely, good music, delicious food, always friendly people in there. So cosy and nicely decorated too- couldn’t ask for a better local pub

Yelp
Please note, this pub does not have food. It's a traditional pub. You can however go two doors down and grab a sandwich and bring it in. Now that your every objection has been addressed.. It's the most traditional and friendly pub I've been to in the south of England IN THE WORLD! The North of England knows its bitter, but the South of England seems to have forgotten.. or they have a few mass market brands in bottles. Not so at The Brewhouse who had a great selection. They also had a few mass market taps as they're not snobs but for me I was in heaven. Secondly, the bar man Paul was ace. For the regulars he had a pint in their jar before they got to the bar, was good at the banter and also seemed to know when to get scarce. As a guy who loves English bitter, was just passing through town, loves a natter, this place was a gem. The locals at this pub were a great bunch of guys and we all had a laugh. I felt at home within 5 minutes. So, of course I went back. I can't say enough about this public house. It ticked all my boxes.

Yelp
Milk Street Brewery pub in fact I think their only one . Pretty uninspiring from outside but inside bright and clean though a bit artificial old worldy for my taste . Not sure about the choice of furniture either . What gets the four stars is choice of beer , quality and service .

Yelp
I always find high street pubs a little bit freaky especially when there is such a beautiful quay so near by. I get the feeling that this is where men go to drink while their wives and girlfriends go shopping.
