Absolutely Mid! This “Jack of All Trades, Master of None” Approach Falls Flat. Everything across their multiple food menus and drink lists is absolutely mediocre, almost unserviceable. I visited on a Saturday afternoon with a group of 12 people, and the atmosphere was off-putting from the moment we entered the building. There were about half a dozen kids running around the exterior patio, an uncoordinated seating process, and a cold reception.
Out of my group of 12, we ordered from three different menus. Nobody was satisfied with their food; it was serviceable at best. I know ordering ramen at a brewery is always a risky move, but even with low expectations, my ramen barely crossed the "serviceable" line. It was bland, with low-quality protein and an “old” tasting egg. The loaded fries were under-seasoned and a low-quality mess. No one had anything good to say about the spicy chicken sandwich, and the pizza was flat and completely devoid of flavor.
As for the drinks, their beer tap list is utterly uninspired, nothing interesting or crisp. The cocktails were just as disappointing. Honestly, I can’t even remember what the Pilsner the bartender recommended tasted like.
In Conclusion
If you ever find yourself relegated to visit this establishment for a work event, happy hour, or impromptu gathering, I guess it’s serviceable enough. But I would definitely not return. Los Angeles has so many other gastropubs that succeed much better at pulling off the whole "food hall and drinks" concept. Hell, even typical chains like BJ’s or Yard House have a better shot at satisfying you, even with their bland, corporate vibe.
