"This new(ish) neighborhood cafe — located in a thoughtfully renovated former art gallery in Northeast Minneapolis — is a sweet spot for lunch. Muffulettas and other sandwiches pair well with dishes like avocado salad and sweet potato chowder, not to mention bread pudding drizzled with lemon creme anglaise. Note that it’s closed on Tuesdays." - Justine Jones, Stacy Brooks, Eater Staff

Stopped in for a coffee and so glad I did! The space is warm and welcoming and so charming! I saw good looking breakfast sandwiches with fresh greens being served to other tables. I’ll be back! They also serve cocktails and their patio is open until 11pm on this Saturday night!

Super cute small cafe with breakfast and lunch items. We tried the marscapone waffle, plus the orange morning bun from Laune bakery and both were excellent. For coffee drinks we had the chicory cold brew drink which would have been a lot better with less oat milk. The espresso tonic drink was great! I will definitely return to try some of the lunch items and different drinks.

Very cute spot, lates love default is oat milk (my go to!), have had some muffins and a few different lattes all have been great. Recently got their “compost cookie” which I was really loving! The patio is dog friendly which I love and you can bring them in to order before going out.

Neighborhood hipster hangout for drinks and snacks. Not sure I would venture here for a meal unless you are a very light eater. Service was great and friendly. I appreciate they had dangerous man on tap. I had the chefs special cutie and it was delicious, the $3 for chips seemed excessive... but it's very small. They also have a patio.

Run, don’t walk, to The Briar! Wow this place was so special (and dare I say the date capital of Minneapolis at night?)! This place has great cocktails, delicious food, the best atmosphere, and friendliest staff! It was such a treat to go to this small spot with two great friends and enjoy some sandwiches, chips, and soups. Absolutely loved this spot!

Update from about a year ago. Prices are much lower now. Good cocktails, patio vibe. Prices are much lower now. 2023 muffaletta sandwich and a flat white, about $22ish. The coffee is very well priced but the food is a bit too expensive. High quality food definitely, so I didn't mind, but it would keep me from coming regularly. Flat white was like $6 but the sandwich was like $14 (or more) and the portion was small and served with potato chips. High quality sandwich for sure but too expensive. I'm only rating on food quality so 5 stars, atmosphere is great, and great service.

The food was outstanding. Friendly staff. Excellent cocktails. Great patio. This is a new spot and they're settling in on the interior, at the time of this review they have a funky vintage vibe ruined by harsh florescent lights from the open kitchen competing with warm vintage style lights. Some light filters off Amazon can fix this and I'm sure they'll get to it as they settle in more

Great place that takes coffee seriously. Everyone who works there loves what they do, and it’s evident in the product. I asked for a pour over, and while temporarily not doing pour overs, Max explained in detail an alternative that they had on drip and it was excellent. The pork cutie is tasty and I also enjoyed the espresso. Great local spot in the neighborhood, I hope they continue to thrive for a long time. Thanks guys!
