Melissa Weller Is Back in NYC at High Street on Hudson in the West Village | Eater NY

"The Brick Bar is a pop-up adult playground themed around Lego creations, featuring cocktails served in brick-shaped water bottles, slightly disturbing-looking burgers on red and green buns made to resemble Lego blocks, and seating constructed entirely from Legos — think Museum of Ice Cream vibes, but with Legos." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya

We had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays with our staff and members at The Brick. Vito was so easy to work with and put together the perfect package for us. Everyone was thrilled with the food and service! The chicken parmigiana was cooked perfectly, as were the vodka penne and meatballs. We also enjoyed the large charcuterie spread, bruschetta, and pizzas. Abby, our server, was very attentive and always on top of our drink orders. We will be back!

The Brick is a classic spot in downtown Bethlehem that does not disappoint. The food is high quality and delicious. Their menu is massive so there’s truly something for everyone. Service is always top notch! Love them here and I highly recommend a visit!

2025: First time dining here. Really liked the calamari with sauce on the side. The sauteed vegetables were tender and delicious. 😋 I plan to dine here again. 2025: Still very good. Loved the salads.

We had guests visiting from out of state, and we wanted to host them nicely, so we took them to The Brick Restaurant. We loved the Margherita pizza. The Garlic Knot was excellent, and the potatoes were good as well. Overall, we were very satisfied with the food and the quality of the dishes. However, the service provided by our server, Sally, was disappointing. Her facial expressions and responses were not welcoming, and it made us feel embarrassed in front of our guests. The food was great, but the service was noticeably poor. I would recommend addressing this issue to improve the overall dining experience.

While visiting the area, walked in with family on a Saturday night based on great reviews. Excellent atmosphere and the aroma was amazing. Unfortunately we were immediately met with less than friendly service upon entering. When the manager/hostess because aware that we did not have a reservation her entire demeanor changed. With a party of 6 she said that we she will seat us in two separate booths and that's what we will get. We understood it was busy on a Saturday night and where willing to wait for a table to seat us all, but that appeared not to be an option to this individual.... It was the booths or nothing. As we were on a family trip with grandparents, and expecting to spend time together, we chose to leave and dine elsewhere where we felt welcomed. Everyone has a bad night from time to time and hoping this wasn't the norm, however In the hospitality industry, being hospitable is necessary.

Ended up here as family was in mood for pasta/pizza and panini since it was cold outside Food - we ordered veg fest calzone, pizza and panini Panini was good , calzone was too cheeay (more like a calzone with sprinkling of veggies instead of a veg fest calzone) and spinach artichoke pizza was too salty and cheesy. Overall food was ok and not some place I would highly recommend . Service was good but was disappointed that they did not inform us of a charge for ordering hot sauce on side. 1st time I have seen a charge for that Atmosphere - good Overall not someplace I would visit again if I was in area

Google
We came on Friday evening and the food was great — especially the pizza. However, the service was extremely disappointing. Our server, Sally E., was very unfriendly and never smiled. She barely checked on us and didn’t even refill our drinks, even though we were entitled to two refills. While we enjoyed the food, the service really took away from the experience. The restaurant urgently needs to review and improve its staff, especially the servers. We left very dissatisfied with the service despite the good food.

Google
Phenomenal food & Service. We tried the Prosciutto Pizza & Lobster roll for the first time, everything was fresh and amazing. Great place to grab a quick small pie & a drink; but also great for a sit down family meal.

Yelp
I love so many things to include the pizza (crust is perfection), penne vodka, eggplant rollatini, sautéed veggies, and recently I tasted the chicken saltimbocca which was delish! Family owned and so nice and welcoming....all the staff! Nice casual ambiance.

Yelp
Fantastic food. Especially the wings. Gnocchi, vodka sauce, pizzas!!! Excellent service as well.

Yelp
Easily the best pizza I have ever had. The Drunken Pizza, OMG! The vodka sauce is amazing. Meatlover pizza was great too, five star! Ordered online and my order was done in 10 minutes. Great spot in Lehigh area!

Yelp
They welcome both walk-ins and reservations. The service is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Their penne alla vodka is hands down the best in Bethlehem--absolutely unreal and a must-order. The salads are solid, and the pizza is delicious. A great spot for dinner with friends!

Yelp
Food was AWFUL. This food is NOT fresh. Chicken was rubbery. My steak sandwich was COLD. Bill for 5 was $250 and we left hungry....NO WAY!

Yelp
This was a great stop for lunch. The brick oven pizzas were so good. There were so many different kinds to choose from. The hot honey and pepperoni was my favorite.

Yelp
I ended up here based upon a word of mouth recommendation. I've walked past this place before and always thought that it smelled amazing. I should have trusted my nose sooner. This place did not disappoint. I went here with my wife on a date. I ordered fried burrata in vodka sauce, prosciutto panini, and a cannoli. She got flatbread pizza, shrimp linguine, and chocolate cake. Fries burrata was great. It was basically a smushed mozzarella stick in vodka sauce. The vodka sauce is so good, I could drink it! I wish it was jarred and available for purchase. I would buy it weekly. I even dipped my panini in it. My wife dipped her flatbread pizza in it, too! Her pizza was great by itself. Fresh mozzarella and fresh basil really complemented the good pizza sauce. it was perfect! I will be returning here!

Yelp
What a great hidden gem in Bethlehem! Wanted to try a new place and this showed up so we decided to go. The pizza menu alone has so many choices outside of the normal choices . My son got the Big Mac, I got the clam pie, my wife got the plain (a must try when going to a new place) . The pizzas come in 3 sizes, personal being a 12". My daughter was the only one to go rogue and not get pizza, she did got the penne vodka with grilled chicken. EVERYTHING was outstanding. Brick oven pizzas were perfect, Service was great. There is a really nice bar along with a few TVs to watch the games. Sorry for the bad pictures. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Ordered delivery but also called to confirm the food was 100 percent vegan. They were helpful and confirmed it was 100% vegan. Pizza and Stromboli were delicious! We will order again :)

Yelp
Great pizza for those who like a good fluffy crust. The interior is on the smaller side but it's very clean and open so you don't feel crowded.
google avatar

Yelp
Atmosphere was underwhelming. Server was definitely new, but did a great job checking up on us. Pizza was a bit airy and doughy for me, but overall not bad pizza.

Yelp
We always eat at the same when we visit Bethlehem so we decided to try this place for A change. It is so loud in here you can't really talk and the tables are packed in. We got lucky and found a seat at the bar, Not too much on the beer choices but decent, we ordered a pizza with olives and a salad. The salad was great nice and fresh with a tasty dressing. The pizza was highly salty and not well done but it was edible. The service was ok it was very busy but we were served pretty quick.

Alex R.

Yelp
Genuinely the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to. Starting with the owners they are amazing and always kind which reflects on the workers and other staff there. The food is incredible, I've been going here for about 10 years now and have never had a bad meal. You need to try the drunken chicken parm it will change your life. Overall it has a nice cozy feel inside and sitting outside during the summer is always amazing to end off a great evening!
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
Gluten free pizza is probably the best I've ever had. Crust isn't a premade frozen patty. It is a dough that is shaped and cooked at brick. Sicilian gluten free crust also amazing.

Yelp
First time here, absolutely amazing! The Bee's Knees and the Hot Honey Strawberry Smash was delicious. Mia was the sweetest!

Yelp
We have been coming the The Brick since before 2020. We love their pizza and have always had delicious food off of their menu. The atmosphere can be loud, but it's fun to be in a place with lots of people. The service last night was pretty good. We had to ask for bread for the table from the manager. The waiter didn't offer it. The butter packets had been melted and refrigerated. The bread was warm. I had a nice side salad to start with the house dressing and it was nicely presented with onion slices and grated carrots on top. For dinner, I had the Chicken Florentine. It was supposed to be pan seared chicken with tomatoes and spinach, melted mozzarella in a marinara sauce. I envisioned tomatoes - so you could tell they were tomatoes, maybe diced or sliced or maybe sun dried. There were not any whole or parts of tomaotes. The spinach was probably frozen, and very overcooked, and was hidden under one piece of chicken, maybe 1/2 cup. The chicken breasts were good size, breaded I think, and moist, but smothered in cheese and not very flavorful. The marinara sauce was not good. It didn't have any flavor, no garlic, no herbs, very little salt. My husband had the Panini Parmigiana sandwich. The sauce on it was much richer and had a lot more flavor than what I had. The bread was dry grilled, which was nice because it wasn't oily. The chicken was sliced very thin and there wasn't a lot of mozzarella and so it was a little bit dry. I wasn't offered a second glass or wine, which I would have had, but nobody came over after we were served until the end of the meal. We brought the Chicken Florentine home rather than have it thrown away. I will doctor it up to make it edible. When the waiter came to check on us, and I hadn't eaten much, I told him it wasn't good. He said he would be sure to tell the kitchen. Nobody came to ask about it, and THAT was disappointing.

Yelp
Just had my first pizza at the Brick. My wife and I were both very impressed. The arugula salad was simple, but delicious. The Romano pizza is one of the best pizzas I've had anywhere. Light, thin, crispy, and great taste. You can tell they use the highest quality ingredients when making the pizza. Service was fantastic as well. Will definitely be back soon and often. Great place!

Yelp
I went to the brick for the first time the other day with my boyfriend. I want to try it out because it's only a two minute walk from my apartment. I moved here about a month ago so I'm still trying to figure out the best restaurants around town and honestly I wasn't that impressed with The Brick. After reading some of the reviews on yelp I thought I would give it a shot but I was very disappointed. My boyfriend I decided to split the chicken parmesan and a margarita pizza the 12 inch size. I really also wanted to get the penne alla vodka but I was wary of the penne vodka disappointing me. This is because penne vodka is one of my favorite dishes of all time and I crave it pretty frequently. I really wanted it and my boyfriend didn't want it as much so we asked our server if we could have it as a side because we didn't want the full portion. She said that was fine and she placed our order. I did think that this was a very accommodating request and I do appreciate the resturant allowing this! The chicken Parmesan came with a side salad. The salad was pretty good nothing too special but it was good. What I didn't like was that our pizza and pasta came out at the same time. We probably should've specified that we wanted them at different times but it's fine. The pizza was OK at most. What I really enjoyed about it was the mozzarella cheese and the crust. The mozzarella was fresh and delicious as well as the crust, nice and crispy. As far as the sauce, it was oddly sweet and had a strange flavor. It was almost as if the sauce tasted similar to candy. I know my mom puts sugar in her tomato sauce and maybe that's what they do at the brick. But on this specific day I went to that there there was way too much sugar in the sauce! The chicken parm was my favorite thing that we ordered. I thought it tasted great, the chicken was thin (how I like it) and the sauce on the chicken tasted normal (unlike the pizza). My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken parm and we both agreed that we would definitely be back to have it again. As far as the penne vodka. I will never order this dish again at the brick. It tasted nothing like penne vodka and had 0 flavor. The closest thing I could compare it to would be penne with butter sauce. Do yourself a favor and not order the penne vodka. Overall, my experience at The Brick was quite pleasant. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. And they have a fun bar with drinks and lots of app's that I'm sure are great. The chicken parm was very tasty and the crust on the margarita pizza was super crunchy and delicious.

Yelp
I come to Allentown from time to time and decided to stop in for the first time since the restaurant I go to is closed on Sundays. I'm glad I did. I've eaten a lot of chicken francese in my life and I'd say this one is just as good as any that I've had anywhere in the world. My martini was large and cold. My house salad was cold. My chicken was hot. Enjoyed my meal at The Brick. See you again next time.

Yelp
Wonderful, wonderful pizza restaurant. It is not your average pizza joint though. They have tables, waiters and a full bar. There are also other meals on the menu other than pizza...but let me tell you, their pizza is great. I went there this past weekend with a bunch of friends and we ordered 4 pies. My favorite was the Grandma pie...but we asked for it with Vodka sauce which was excellent! Our waiter was attentive and the food came our faster than expected. We will definitely be back again!

Yelp
I took a group of about 20 people here in July and we had a great experience. The pizza was terrific, the salads were terrific and the service was terrific. I really have a hard time with pizza snobs, the people who think there is only one place that does it right and every other pizza place in the world gets one star. Get a life. Anyway, this is not a dive, it's a nice restaurant. They didn't blink when I walked in with 20 people, they made it look easy. And the food was just great. Thank you very much, Brick people, you gave us a great night.

Yelp
This was our first time here. We had never been here before thought we would give this place a try. This is a semi build your own pizza restaurant! So many options to choose from. They have a bunch of preconstructed pizzas on the menu, but they can and will make a pizza with whatever toppings you choose. They also have the normal variety of pizza place options, Stromboli, Panini, Pasta, Cheesesteaks, Sandwiches and Burgers. They also have a full bar. I experienced great service and all the employees were friendly. No issues that other reviewers mentioned but then it was a Wednesday night after 8 and there were maybe 2 other parties in the restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but the outdoor was closed due to the season. Thee only complaints are the decor is a little bland and dull. Also the service was on the slower than normal side, but not awful. You also have to deal with Bethlehem street parking, but this place is a little bit away from the busiest part of downtown so it was not too bad. They also seem to do more take out business that dine in. While we were eating there we saw plethora of people come in for pick up. Overall we will be back, the pizza and food was good, however we think we will do carryout next time.

John J.

Yelp
Rice balls with vodka sauce were very good, but we thought the rice balls came with vodka sauce. We asked to have the rice balls with vodka sauce when then Came out without sauce, waitress brought out a medicine sized cup of vodka sauce and we were charged $3 very disappointing. All said and done they are extremely sparing on any sauce and are quick to charge for more.
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
We had our meal delivered through Grubhub and ordered an eggplant parm sandwich, veggie calzone, and the vodka pasta with broccoli. Food was great. A clear winner. The portion size is pretty large and enough for two meals especially if you order fries and a salad. The veggie calzone was a little light on veggies and mostly cheese but good overall. We had the tiramisu for dessert. You can get better tiramisu anywhere but it was good enough for the convenience of getting it with your meal if you don't have anything at home. Tiramisu was also a smaller portion size relative to rest of the meal. Overall, great meal but maybe skip dessert.

Yelp
We usually get take-out pizza there about once a week. It is always great and we enjoy the crust, cheese and the sauce. Good thinner crust pizza. Last night we decided to try an entree and ordered the lasagna (comes with a side salad). Lasagna was excellent - large portion so there were leftovers for lunch today. House salad dressing was really good, balsamic, nice and tangy. Highly recommend! The take-out staff is very nice too!

Pop T.

Yelp
We probably need to never do this again. We ordered Chicken Parmigiana sandwiches and they were deep fried. Bad taste the dwelling was so dark my son accidentally bumped into a waitress while waking in the place. I was going to order the pizza but I didn't so there's that fact.
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
My wife and I got take out and ordered a family calzone to split. The size was plenty for the two of us with a little extra. We got the Italian calzone which my wife picked out. It had too many vegetables for her liking (and she's the one that read the description!) It had a sloid crunch and came with plenty of sauce to dip in.

Yelp
The Brick is one of the restaurants, my friends and I often frequent. The interior of the building provides a warm and inviting atmosphere, although the outside is lackluster. When considering every aspect of the restaurant, their food is the clear strong suit. With amazing pizza and pasta dishes, you can't go wrong. However, if you leave without trying the garlic parm fries then you are doing it wrong. The one aspect in which this restaurant has been lacking is service and customer experience. Often, I find that their staff is not timely in checking in on tables, and waiting for their food is uncomfortably long. That coupled with their unheated outdoor seating during COVID, provided an unfortunate experience last time we dined here for a friend's birthday. With a party of eight people, they were unable to serve all of our dishes at the same time, and while waiting for all of our food to arrive (over twenty minutes), the first dishes grew cold in the outdoor weather. This in some ways ruined our celebration and what should have been a delicious meal. In short, go here to grab your Friday night pizza takeout or to enjoy a pasta night for two. But, I would not recommend it for larger families or friend groups.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
I have never seen such a multitude of pizza toppings in my life. Nutella on pizza?!? It's outrageous! The restaurant provides outdoor seating with plenty of shade as well as indoor seating next to giant brick ovens and flat panel televisions. The wait staff was attentive but not overly officious. The pizza was excellent. A 12 inch is more than enough for one person, and the price is a reasonable $10-$15 (this isn't Dijiorno, folks). The beer selection is also worth mentioning.
google avatar

Bonnie M.

Yelp
We waited 45 minutes for appetizers 30 minutes to get menus 1 q/2 hours for food Would never go back. Poor kitchen service. Mediocre food

Yelp
When for the first time with my boyfriend it was super packed so I thought it would be a long wait but the service was great food was amazing as well our waitress

Yelp
In the heart of downtown Bethlehem's northside, you'll find an amazing list of pizza options, plus a nice selection of other Italian dishes and a full bar including domestics, imports and craft beers. Service was excellent for our large group. Staff was super friendly and our food was served promptly and hot. Price was a touch on the high side, but not outrageous. I'll dine here again.

Lacey M.

Yelp
The food and drinks are good. However when we questioned the prize of a Sicilian pizza listed at $18 and charged for $29 we were told it was common sense that it would come up to that price when the piece of added items were not listed. The manager, Fabiola, was very rude and treated us like we were dumb and came at us very angrily while we maintained a calm tone while discussing how we just wanted to know why it had jumped that high. She was very rude and did not want to listen to Id, interrupting us and repeatedly telling us things were common sense and treating us like we were stupid. In review of other reviews she has been rude to other customers. Would not recommend just due to her not even willing to talk to us. Our waiter was great though.
google avatar

Cathy F.

Yelp
I considered 4 stars because it is very loud for an upscale restaurant and only one ladies room- BUT the food was so good that I had to give 5 stars. We made reservations and they treated us so kindly. The waitress was super attentive and checked back with us before bringing our food. Arugula salad- awesome; I'd order it just for the lemon dressing. My only suggestion would be to fry the pancetta and put on top. Toasted vegetable sandwich- Awesome, not too many vegetables instead the perfect mix anchored with roasted red pepper and mozzarella. The sweet potato fries were awesome- I kind of wish they had a dipping sauce instead of ketchup nevertheless they were great. Spinelli pizza- Perfect! Not overloaded with toppings, so you could still fold it. The sausage, and mixture of sweet and hot peppers was delicate enough to enjoy the sauce and cheese flavors. So good; get a large- for work I freeze leftover (individually) slices, and put in the microwave on defrost mode. It maintains some of the integrity of the dough. We did not have dessert but the cannoli pizza sounds awesome!!

Ally P.

Yelp
Phenomenal place. I got the prosciutto pizza for my meal and boy was it out of this world. The lemon vinaigrette dressing on top was to die for. I have a hard time finding good pizza around here and this is the place. For dessert we got the Nutella pizza and it was amazing. I also got the caramel macchiato espresso martini and I HIGHLY recommend for a dessert drink. Great place I'll be back!!!!

Yelp
This is my repost from grubhub: So we use grubhub almost twice a week. Never an issue. Last week our order was an hour and a half late due to unforeseen issues... tonight. The weather started to get bad. Snow but hardly sticking. We placed An order at 6:55 and called grubhub multiple times (each waiting 30 plus minutes) no one could contact the driver. Thank god the restaurant was so friendly and went way above and beyond. They not only called grub hub while I was on the phone and heard but stayed in touch w me to resolve it. The owner continually asked to bring the food himself to my home since I couldn't even reach a grub hub. Employee. He actually did come even after I said it wasn't necessary since it was now 3 hours late and not his job to be driving around. It is now 4 hours later and I have yet to be in touch with a grubhub employee.. So point being- their food is always great I order from Them often, but grubhub isn't. A bad rating from a driver isn't. Fair. This owner goes above and beyond for his customers and will do whatever is takes to make his customers happy! There aren't many places like that anymore!

Yelp
I've been here a few times in the last two years and it's a solid spot for some speciality pizzas. My favorite is the sesame chicken pizza which has chicken, sweet chili, onions and arugula! A large pizza is a big size and can be split between multiple people. Their mozzarella bites are good but some were a bit cold by the time we got them. Drink menu is large but depending on the day the drinks taste different. For the price and location it's a place you should check out!

Yale G.

Yelp
The food was quite good. Our waiter had no clue as to customer service! We had to request everything, even napkins, End of meal, we requested six(6) coffees. Our waiter told us nothing fresh available. I asked: " can you make a fresh pot?" He returns " our coffee pot is broken!!" This establishment has. To train their wait staff properly. Rating: based on 1 -10 Food: 8 Service:1

Deborah K.

Yelp
Ordered chicken piccata. Opened container and it was FILLED with a water like broth. The chicken was pre-cooked, tasted grilled, was thin and VERY dry. There were a couple of capers. I have never had chicken piccata that looked or tasted like this. Not good. I've heard such good things about The Brick. Very disappointing.

Ryan G.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. We drive from 25 mins each way to eat here because the food is so good. Friendly atmosphere always clean store, and reasonably priced. The mozzarella bites and pizza are amazing. It's the best pizza place in the LV and I've probably tried them all. It's a small restaurant and it can get quite busy at times but it's always worth the wait. Keep doing everything you guys are doing, you're nailing it!
google avatar

Vanessa W.

Yelp
I dunno what the fuss is all about. Was the pizza adequate? Sure, but certainly nothing special or to write home about. The greasy cheese speaks to low quality. The sauce tasted ketchupy and very Americanized. Our appetizer and pizza came out at the same time. Server was nice, but average. With so many other pizza places in the area I'd skip it.
google avatar

Heather E.

Yelp
Hubby and I came here a few weeks ago for a quick bite and drinks and we enjoyed! Buffalo Chicken Stromboli is out of this world! We will be back
google avatar

Will S.

Yelp
Great little spot with a full service bar and kitchen. Large portions and great prices. The atmosphere is warm with large windows and brick facade, and the staff is friendly and courteous. Happy hour has some really great values and the restaurant is right across from the downtown parking garage, with some street parking also available. We split a margarita pizza and a chicken Parmesan and both were spectacular, with a larger-than-normal portion for the chicken. The sauce was good and the meal was hot and fresh out of the oven. I'll definitely come back here for Italian fare.
google avatar

Kevin K.

Yelp
Dinner for a group of 12 and lucked into a relatively slow night. Loved the wood fired pizzas. Beer selection was decent. Baked Ziti was awesomely delicious. Overall great experience.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
Been back a few times in the last year. They have a very nice bar, and open seven days with very good selection of beer and wine. Lots of TV's make the ambiance more casual then the beautiful bar would suggest. This time, had the penne vodka with shrimp which was very good but typical. The Brick is more than a pizza parlor but far from a unique Italian dining experience. The menu is basic, filled with typical American Italian dishes and the normal assortment of pizza shop sandwiches. Food is good, service is friendly. And, the prices are reasonable. So, go for the nice bar, great beer and wine selection and enjoy a bite of familiar good food.
google avatar

Laura E.

Yelp
Great dinner tonight at the Brick. Nice outdoor seating and great service. We had the burrata appetizer, pasta primavera and chicken parm...highly recommend!!

Yelp
Did Brick for happy hour on Friday. It was a good experience but I don't feel it was quite 4star worthy. They have an ok beer list that is not extensive but has a good selection of tasty beers. Happy hour special is $2 off craft beer which would be nice, but some of the beers on that menu are $8 a pop which is a bit ridiculous. We ordered the margarita pizza and a cup of meatballs(2) from the happy hour menu. The pizza was legit for $7. Good size and a good za. The meatballs on the other hand were weak. Two balls out of the freezer, probably microwaved and thrown in some tomato water. They tasted fake and low quality. The sauce was so thin it wouldn't even stick to them. I like the spot. Cool bar and a good location just off Main Street. I will surely be going back to try out some more of the menu items.

Christina K.

Yelp
Great pizza! This place is our favorite in the valley. The pizza is thin and crispy! We usually get the margarita pizza and the broccoli rabe and sausage pizza. Very good and tasty. They also have great chicken wings. Sandwiches aren't bad either. Service is also good whether it's at the table or bar. We will definitely continue to come back here.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit here. The pizza was great and the fried calamari was delicious .. Will definitely come back soon. Honestly would have given 5 stars but I was distracted by "eye of the tiger" playing. Strange music for a Italian restaurant. LOL.
