I just stayed at the Brick for the first time over the weekend for one night. This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Oceanside, only four blocks from the beach. It is located within walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops, and really anything you could ever want to walk to, including the beautiful beach. The hotel also has the Q&A restaurant right downstairs. We didn't eat there, but it looked really nice. There is also a rooftop bar, which was awesome. There is a nice little coffee stand out back as well, called The Succulent Cafe. It was very nice and thoughtful that in our room, they included a voucher for a free drink at the rooftop bar, and coffee at the little coffee stand.
The hotel itself was very cute and nicely decorated. I loved the brick walls in the room and all of the decor. It really had a nice modern feel, all while maintaining the historic, old vibe of the place. It was also very very clean. As soon as I walked in the room, it just smelled so fresh and clean. Linens and towels were all spotless as well. Parking was only about a block away in a parking structure; no big deal.
I had the pleasure of speaking with the employees prior to check in to ask a few questions about check in and parking. They were so wonderfully nice and welcoming. Also spoke with them on the property, and again, so welcoming and friendly. I'm not sure if they were the owners or not.
The only complaint that I have is the noise level. Our room (205) faced the alley way, where many trucks unload at all hours, and there is a dumpster that all the restaurants use. All day and night, we heard the dumpster slamming, trucks, and people talking. The windows didn't seem like they did much to block out the noise. I know this is not the owner's fault and I'm not sure there's much they can do, but it was definitely very noisy. I would still come here again because of how great the service was, how amazing the location is, and how clean the room was.
