A Pop-Up Bar Made Out of a Million Legos Is Coming to Philly | Eater Philly

"I'm intrigued that an entirely unofficial Lego-themed pop-up called the Brick Bar is scheduling a stop in Philadelphia from Friday, November 22 through Sunday, November 24, though the exact venue hasn't been revealed (or, it sounds like, determined). Organizers say the Brick Bar sold out in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and London within 24 hours, and the pop-up—initially called Legobar—has since removed direct references to LEGO and added a disclaimer that the LEGO Group does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse the site; a LEGO rep told Eater, “As a manufacturer of children’s toys, it is not within our remit to partner with brands or individuals operating in the food and beverages sector.” The installation is built from more than a million blocks assembled onsite into interactive structures like a ping pong table and a wishing well; beverages are adult drinks served in Lego-shaped juice boxes, there will be plenty of blocks for people to play with, DJs will provide music, and tickets are $25 with a signup on the website to be notified when sales open." - Rachel Vigoda

We were on our way to Illinois and I wanted a Fish Fry Friday before we left the Great state of Wisconsin. Service was fast and prompt. Food was great and the prices were fair. Loved the board at the bar for our food. Would go back. I had the 3 piece cod, clam chowder and my wife had the gyro. All the food was delicious.

Gether M.

Google
It's a very popular place so it's very busy. The food was okay. It was nothing spectacular and the service subpar. BUT it seems like a great place to watch a Packers game with friends. My friend had a chocolate martini which she thought was delicious and strong. So the drinks may be spectacular. It's not a very big place so if you're trying to get a seat at the bar get there early.

Google
Our favorite "Cheers" pub and grill that's not too far away from us. The staff are outstanding and friendly and make you feel at home. Great comfort food that goes beyond your typical short order bar and grill. Great place to dine in and outdoors. It has a front and back patio for dining. Always is packed with a diverse crowd. Great place to watch sports as well with a good line of beers and cocktails. Also has live music and craft fairs. Great burgers, sandwiches and 🐟 fry.

Google
Great food and friendly service in a local gem of a pub. Had the caprese omelet and it was really tasty. We call the Bloody Marys our "Happy Meal" with cheese and beef stick in addition to pickle and olive garnish. Try the gumbo - it's also a go to lunch treat.

Google
The Sunday brunch Country Fried steak was amazing. The steak itself was tender and the breading was flavorful, the gravy tasted like it was homemade. The hash browns has flavor which was surprising cause hashbrowns never have flavor. There were 2 pieces of toast and 2 eggs made however you’d like (I chose over easy). Overall the food was so so good. I’ll definitely be back.

Google
My coworker told me to go there multiple times cuz the food was good. Decided to order the Friday Fish Fry to go 2 of them and was not worth it. The fish was ok tasting but looked like a kids chicken tender meal. Never had a fish fry that the fish was that skinny The coleslaw was yuk yuk. All it was is cabbage and mayo nothing else in it.I threw it away. Tartar sauce just comes in a package like a fast food restaurant. Thought the coleslaw and tarter were homemade. The only thing that was good was the fries and the piece of rye bread.

Google
Had a great experience at The Brick Pub & Grill! My son and I stopped in for lunch today! And we were not disappointed! Mary was a good hostess and sat us right away, and Stephanie was our server and got right to business with our order! I had the brick pub burger and a long Island ice tea, and my son had the wings and cheese curds. Both came up to a resistable price, and both orders were delicious! Glad we stopped in for lunch to experience a 5⭐️ experience! Great staff, food, and atmosphere!

Google
The Brick Pub and Grill is a good neighborhood spot with a friendly, laid-back vibe. It’s perfect whether you’re looking to catch a game, meet up with friends, or just enjoy a solid meal and a beer. They have a good variety of local and regional craft beers on tap, which is always a plus. The menu is straightforward — burgers, wraps, wings, and other pub favorites — but everything is made fresh and served hot. I appreciated how quickly the food came out, and the quality was not bad. Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. There’s also plenty of seating, both at the bar and in the dining area, and the place is clean and well-kept. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard — just delivers good food, drinks, and a comfortable atmosphere.

Yelp
So, I wasn't to happy about the entrance only because I suck at driving but, we walked In and we were greeted warmly and sincerely. Seated outside quickly and prepared to order. The most amazing, charismatic young lady came to take our order...Stephanie (don't call her Stephy) not only pleasant and cheerful, she was clairvoyant! She knew that we had that "let's try the artichoke and spinach dip" She was correct, not only cheesy as heck but loaded with spinach and artichoke. We both ordered the perch fish fry (three piece) and got the whole fish! More than we could eat. It was crunchy and not over battered. We very much enjoyed ourselves and Stephanie's company. She made us feel at home and not rushed nor was she robotic. Great place, great food and great Stephanie!! Definitely, definitely will be back!!

Yelp
The chicken dinners here are done right. The breading on the chicken is just enough to cover without taking over, and seasoned. The vegetables were cooked just right, leaving the favors intact and keeping them tasting good. The mashed potatoes, while they were creamy, I did notice a bit of sour cream in them and since I'm not a big fan of sour cream, it just tasted like the sour cream just over powered the taste of the potatoes. I just know next time I'll see if they can do an order without sour cream and if not, I'll order fries. They have live music on Saturdays, and the musician did covers of Billy Joel, which was good. We've never had a bad experience with either their host staff or server, and our server Chloe did a great job!!

Yelp
Service is always friendly & down to earth. Get the "Brick me up" but with tequila! So glad to have this local place to gather at. There is a ton of space, both on the patios, the main dining room, and in the bar.

Yelp
EVERYTHING! Ordered 2 orders of "Friday fish fry" (cod: 2 piece and 3 piece) . They told me it would be 20 minutes. I arrived in 13 minutes (I only live 2 minutes away), I didn't want it sitting getting cold. I grabbed it as soon as it came out. Got it home to a set table and opened immediately. The fish pieces were very hot and fresh! Unfortunately that's all I can say. I ordered tater tots, but received old, wilted, cold, unsalted French fries in one dinner and a cold potato cake in the other. Received only 1 tartar sauce in each meal, even though 1 dinner was a 3 piece. I would prefer a thicker battered fish, but this is The Brick's version and was tasty, though addition tartar sauce would have been more enjoyable, even if only to dip the nasty french fries in. Had to rate my experience a 2 star because out of 10 I would rate my experience a 5, and it DEFINITELY wasn't a 6...so a 4 it is!

Yelp
Stopped by the Brick the other day for football weekend brunch. The Bloody & French Onion soup were very good. I'll need to give the kitchen a bigger culinary test next time ;) The service was fast & friendly. And the ambiance very nice - the restaurant is fresh and up-to-date. Give The Brick a try - well worth it
google avatar

Kelsey J.

Yelp
Very mediocre. Fish was over cooked. The place was so loud. Service very slow. We probably won't be back.
google avatar

Denise S.

Yelp
Try the Grilled Salmon with Bourbon Glaze. Comes with lots of healthy Veggies and Rice Pilaf. Oh and have a Raspberry Mojito!!
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
We were passing through and found the Brick. Made it to brunch and we were so pleasantly surprised to find this gem! My husband ate biscuits & gravy and I had the eggs Benedict. Delicious! Even the fruit cup was fresh and ripe! If you go, you've got to try the Paloma Mimosa... thank you Brick, I will forever be adding tequila to my mimosas!!!!!
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
Food was served in a timely manner. All orders were correct. The food was hot. The atmosphere was lively.

Yelp
Came here looking for late night food after a LONG drive from the Baltimore, MD area. Sadly, on a Saturday night, the kitchen is closed. At least they have spotted cow on tap. The menu does look decent... I just wish they were still cooking in the back.

Susy H.

Yelp
The food was very good, regardless of what was ordered The atmosphere is very nice, friendly, lively. Service was a bit slow, but we were in no hurry, so it allowed us to really enjoy our meal.

Yelp
My gf and I loved The Brick as it was super convenient because it was just a very short drive from the house. The day we discovered it, we were soon addicted to it. Decent prices and really good food. The food and service were so good that we brought friends and family to the place. (Around 2021). We then moved and the brick was a little further from us but we made sure to go on a weekend every once in a while. Fast forward to random day 2023, we decided to go and get some food ofc. We were soon shocked to see the portions and actual size of the food (ex: wings) had somehow shrunken and the chicken sandwich had also tasted and seemed different, yet the prices stayed the same (not totally surprised but you get it) . Since that day we have not gone back, but we reminisce about the good old days. I recommend this place as they have live music and just a great bar feel! Again, it seems that they may have changed buyers (again based on the last time I was there in 2023) but you may enjoy the food. Although I was disappointed my last time there, I can see myself going back, maybe. I would give this place a 3.5-3.7/5 if I could.

Greer J.

Yelp
Pet friendly patio is why we came. I ordered the vegetable panini. I've had better at the Public Market downtown. But the tater tots were on point. Crispy on the outside like they should be. Now my spouse ordered the gyro and waffle fries. Both were delicious. Perhaps it is a place where it is better to stick with the meats. For tea drinkers, there is only Lipton tea. But it is served in a small pot, which I enjoy. Service was fast and attentive. Overall would return and go with a non-vegetarian option.

Yelp
It's just ok. Nothing special. Tipical bar food. It's local but in my opinion just ok.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
The Brick is our neighborhood go to spot. Cornhole and dart leagues, live music, community events, fundraisers, and great food all organized by owners who are genuinely invested in the neighborhood they are a part of. Generally speaking, service is good. There are a fair number of long-term staff here who always go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued. This is a great spot to stop in and eventually call your own "go to."
google avatar

Jamie C.

Yelp
Our new go to brunch spot! We were craving a Bloody Mary to start our Super Bowl Sunday, and they delivered that and much more. Bloody Mary's were delicious, but the brunch was even better! I enjoyed my veggie scramble but ended up stealing most of my husbands eggs Benedict, whoops. Their hollandaise sauce is perfection. The waitress was friendly and efficient. Appreciated that they had a room separate from the bar to enjoy our meal with the kiddo! Tip: pay in cash to avoid a 3.4% credit card fee!
google avatar

T H.

Yelp
Service pretty good. Food mediocre at best. If you're in the neighborhood you could drop in if you just had a hole to fill. Otherwise not worth driving to.
google avatar

James P.

Yelp
Great tavern feel. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Food was phenomenal. Wife had the corned beef wrap (basically a Ruben on a wrap). Had the chicken Club. Would definitely return next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Faith S.

Yelp
What a wild place to enjoy watching the Green Bay Packers games! As always, the menu is full of delicious, reasonably priced comfort food, soups, salads, sandwiches & panini. Carnivore tots. Wide array of beer on tap and bar concoctions, plus free green (of course) jello shots for each Pack touchdown! Celebrate or commiserate here...

Yelp
The Brick has long been a favorite of ours, and we appreciate how close it is for us--we can walk here when the weather is decent. We would come here even more when they were doing trivia (sad face that they stopped suddenly). We stopped in recently while waiting for our newly refinished hardwood floors to dry enough that we could walk on them--our first indoor meal of 2020! We were promptly greeted and offered a table or booth and selected the corner booth. My teriyaki chicken mac and cheese was quite tasty, the chicken had great flavor and an external crunch that many places cannot get right (are you listening, Pizza Shuttle?), though the giant pieces of broccoli were a misstep, especially since you needed a knife to cut the veggies into bite-sized pieces. That and some slight service delays on the back end of the meal denied this visit all five-stars, but four is nothing to sneeze at!

Tim B.

Yelp
Order 3 different takeout sandwiches. All three of us thought they were excellent. Definitely will dine inside sometime.
google avatar

Bree W.

Yelp
Besides the warm welcome from the host and bartender. My food came out fast and they did not miss a single thing! I will definitely be back for more of the atmosphere and food!
google avatar

Ted J.

Yelp
I had the Gyro and it was delicious. We had a small issue with the bill that they quickly resolved. We ate outdoors on their lovely deck, and our little puppy was allowed to stay under our feet

Karen B.

Yelp
Had a great lunch. Split a chicken bacon wrap and thoroughly enjoyed it! Bartender was very attentive and personable. Will definitely stop back when in the area
google avatar

Carito R.

Yelp
Pulled Pork Panini, Turkey, and curds. Great combo, awesome food, great service and very cordial waitress. The working was super easy and it's big enough there was not wait. The prices are great and the selection of beer is very good

Yelp
I love the Brick and I love what the Brick has done for the Glendale community !! The owners Tim and Chelsea are real genuine people that love their clientele and they take pride in their restaurant and growth. Such a friendly environment and fun atmosphere , a true Glendale staple! The service is always quick and the food is great! My go to is the Timmy wrap, the French onion soup and Gumbo are absolutely delicious. I love the French dip sandwich!
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Great food and good beer. Outside seating and crowded bar space. The neighborhood go-to tavern. Onion Strings and Walleye are superb.

Lori P.

Yelp
I cannot rate the food because we never got seated. We signed in and received a pager. We were told it was a 30 minute wait. No problem we grabbed a drink and stood by the hostess desk. We never left the area. our pager never went off. Many people went ahead of us. We thought they must have reservations or called ahead. After more than an hour we inquired with the hostess. She asked for our name, we told her, and she said "We called you but you never answered ". We were dumbfounded because we were standing in front of her for more than an hour, we KNOW our name was never called, they obv skipped us. We said "our pager never went off ". Their response " yeah it must be broke". We were just disregarded and they couldn't even give us an estimate of our wait time still. They never acknowledged that they screwed up. We ended up walking out, no food is worth the way we were treated. if I could I would have given it no stars. Big disappointment!

Breezy_1245 ..

Yelp
Love the Brick! This is a very often visit for my mom and I! Definitely recommend!!!! They never miss with their food, everything is always delicious. Their service is also on another level, they are all so kind and amazing every time. I do warn you it is very loud on most days but the atmosphere is very fun and loud. Some days there is even live music. Definitely a go to place!!!
google avatar

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
Katrina was very knowledgeable, patient, and attentive to my concerns regarding Tabak Law Firm representing me for my disability claims. She was also instrumental in directing me to your VA Claims Department to speak with a qualified Case Manage. Thank you for professional courtesy in following up with my initial inquiry.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Food is a lot better than you'd expect. Bartenders worse than you'd think. I am always walking in alone, meeting my wife and a group of her teacher friends. Wouldn't it be great if a bartender would say welcome or hello or anything and I wouldn't have to wait 5 minutes to finally get a blank stare where I better have a beer picked out to ask for. I'm not sure why this place is always packed, but it is and that proves they are doing a lot of things right. And it's not like that's guaranteed as the Silver Spring house, a mile down the road, went out of business twice!
google avatar

Kamron A.

Yelp
So went there for a first time as I was in the area for work! First thing I noticed was it was packed which is a good sign! Definitely a local go to place! Atmosphere is fun and loud but not ear shattering loud! Service was good! They have your standard bar and grill food but also have a daily special menu! Monday is taco and fajitas night. I got the chicken fajitas and I will say the fajitas were solid and tasty which I appreciate and a good portion for only$12.99! The rice was not good at all but this rating has nothing to do with rice because the rest was good! I also got a cup of French Onion soup and that was a solid soup! Good flavor and fair price for $3! They have a summer league corn hole which is great and definitely will come back for a burger next! To see more pictures of this place and others go to Kam Finds Food page on Facebook and Instagram and join the foodie community!

Patricia R.

Yelp
Our server was not friendly at all. The noise level was so loud I couldn't hear the person I was with. I asked for Mayo and got some other kind of sauce. We were not told of the hidden charges, like the Mayo and the use of credit cards. When the ticket came we asked to have the transaction reversed so we could pay cash and was told not possible. I own a retail store so I know it is possible. The burger was good but the cheese curds were greasy.
google avatar

Ameil S.

Yelp
It's a bar....nice vibe - you can watch the game - hand out with friends - and have some decent bar food at reasonable prices . $2 tacos & $4 Margarita's on Monday - and fish fry Friday's - go check it out. Nice place for a super casual date or hanging with friends.

Bill B.

Yelp
Late, hungry, not much choice in places to eat. Turned out to be a gem! Hostess says "I can't seat you because I'm off at 10" so we bellied up to the bar. Hostess proceeded to seat a table of 4 and serve them after declining us "old folks." Anyway, bartender provided us menus and drinks quickly and we ordered a "Billy" (steak sandwich) and my wife had a chicken sandwich. Noisy as expected, people talking, football and other games on the TVs, and the place got more and more busy as the night progressed. My sandwich was quite good and the wifey's must've been good too because she finished hers and was working on her fries. I had onion straws/rings. Thin, crispy, salty, a bit greasy, but very flavorful. I had a Corona beer and the bartender at one point told me not to get my beer mixed up with a Corona set out for a girl to pick up. Don't know if he meant it that way, but I laughed as I'm well aware that I do drink "girly" beer (I'm not into IPAs, dark, hoppy, or stout stuff). Bill came, I had my credit card out, but they offer a discount if you pay with cash. Being a reasonably priced place, I did have enough cash, so I handed it to the barkeep, said thanks, and left. As we started to drive out of the parking lot, the bartender comes running out of the place waving my credit card that I had left on the bar! 5 stars for the Midwest hospitality and well above average "bar food" served late on a Friday night!
google avatar

Suzanne B.

Yelp
I won't deny the food is good and the service is good. It is a nice environment if you like hanging out with people living in the past with trump.
google avatar

Nate F.

Yelp
Good vibes with live music regularly. Staff is strong and the culinary options are what you would expect.

Stefani K.

Yelp
The salmon was overcooked, the veggies were sparse, and the drinks were all made with pre-made mixes that were incredibly sugary. Staff members were lacking any sort of personality, even smiling seemed to be difficult for them. Honestly, the only thing I would eat again are the fries. Get some better gluten free and dairy free options, it's 2023!
google avatar

Mark P.

Yelp
Lots of history at this location starting with grandfather of the current owner. The grandfather started a restaurant across the street back in 1961. Then, rebuilt in 1981 on the Brick's current site. In 2015 the Brick was established ...the nicely renovated restaurant offers a variety of food & drink options patrons can enjoy on the two outdoor patios, in a four season dining room, or seated at an inviting horseshoe shaped bar. Ten TVs make this the perfect place to catch the big game & Packer specials are featured weekly. Their menu features a mix of appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, vegetarian items & gluten free options to keep you coming back. Be sure to try the Ruben eggrolls! Friendly staff, clean environment & ample parking.

Yelp
A pretty decent Standalone Pub and Grill that is in the Suburban area of milwaukee. The food was really quick in here and despite it appearing to look short-staffed the servers and workers were very quick overall this was a pretty cool place with good food and a nice roll bar local bar scene in an area that has very few bars and likely has lost some through the years. The Brick Bar and Grill seems like a pretty neat place to hang around especially for older suburbanites and I have absolutely no complaints from the time I went here.
google avatar

Vinnie H.

Yelp
This is an update to my review about the situation at Brick Pub and Grill. After calling and speaking to a manager and then getting a call from the owner, I am impressed with their approach to this situation and the importance that they placed on my concern. Both were engaging and apologetic while not trying to offer up attempts to placate me, but solutions to the issue. I will be back and look forward to positive interactions. I'll take the unfortunate issue as an aberration as opposed to usual practice.
google avatar

Lisa A.

Yelp
Excellent service! Loved the tater tots. Friendly. Low key ambiance. Steak and eggs very tasty.
google avatar

Flo C.

Yelp
Very good pub food with yummy burgers, fries, onion rings etc! Festive ambiance in the bar area and quieter in the sit down part of the restaurant along with lovely dining in their front and back decks. There are multiple TV's to watch sporting events. Some live music occasionally! Overall a wonderful neighborhood staple!
google avatar

Andrea P.

Yelp
We recently moved in Glendale and were hoping to find a local bar to make home- I think it's safe to say we found it here! A pretty spacious venue with a fun circular bar area, capacity to host live music (every Saturday) and a quieter seating area in the back- this is a great place to grab a bite with friends or for a date night. Let's be clear that the 5 star rating is rating bar food. This does not offer top of the line entrees. However, for bar food, its pretty freaking good. We got the cheese curds (with PRETZEL breading) salty & delicious. We also got a burger ( absolutely huge with a home made spicey ranch & crispy onions on top!), the fries it came with were top notch. Not too fat where it seems like you're eating an actual potato, not too small where instead of crispy it's just hard... these were perfect skinny crispy fries with a seasoning salt - so good!! & I also got the French onion soup- delicious! The menu was extensive and there was a LOT of other food we wanted to try, I'm excited to keep coming back!
google avatar

Angela S.

Yelp
This place was a cute little spot we found on our way to look at cars in Milwaukee. Service was great. Pretzel cheese curds were not my favorite as I prefer something a little more flavorful and light/airy for cheese curds-- but I had to try them as they sounded interesting. Burgers and fries were good, came hot and fresh. I had the maple bacon burger and it was a little too drenched in syrup for my taste, and it seemed like regular syrup not a maple glaze as they suggested. My husbands blue cheese burger was good. FYI-- good idea to bring cash as they charge an additional 2-3% for credit/debit card purchases. Not a deal breaker but I wish this was listed on their website ahead of time. We could've easily gone to an atm to avoid the fee.

Taz B.

Yelp
Great service, great food and a great atmosphere for the area. They even have churros and they are delicious.
google avatar

Marit B.

Yelp
Great place for comfort food and great atmosphere. The Bloody Mary was terrific - just the right combination of spice, tomato and Worcestershire flavors with some hearty garnishes. The French Onion soup is among the better versions I have had - great, hearty rich broth! The rest of the food was good but not notable. The blue gill option in the fish fry was excellent, but the fries and slaw were standard. The wedge salad was the comfort food version of the popular wedge salad that is much more delicious somewhere else. So three stars because there were some highs and lows. The service was pleasant and overall The Brick really hit the spot. I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
Everything was great last night. My fish fry was fabulous, my beer was cold, french fries were great loved every bit of it including the clam chowder. Thank you! Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Yelp
LOVE the Brick. So good! Versatile Menu, Friendly Staff/ Good Service, Yummy food, Great Hangout Place. Highly Recommend!!!
