Yelp
I will start out with the good:
The decor is beautiful. All of the staff I've interacted with are typically nice.
I appreciate that this is a membership based place. It's kind of a gatekeeper situation which keeps the riffraff out.
Now onto the bad. Sorry in advance:
My husband and I came here for NYE.
We were seated 30 minutes past our reservation time.
Something must've happened to drastically put the kitchen behind.
I was seated with a view of the food service window.
For about 30 minutes, no food came out of the kitchen!
When we finally got some of our appetizers, the "polenta fries" were tater tots. As if people who pay $3000 a year for a membership here don't know the difference between the two!
There was a prix fixe menu that night. I ordered the fish and my husband ordered the pork chop. When our food finally arrived, there had been an error. My husband was served the beef pot pie instead. When we pointed out that was not what we ordered, of course the server was apologetic. But then I was faced with the awkward situation of either eating my entree while my husband had no food or I could wait and let it get cold.
It probably wouldn't have mattered because it reminded me of airplane food. The fish fillet was dry, stringy and lukewarm.
Another nice point, when my husband did get the pork chop, he said it was delicious. Probably because it was just made fresh, unlike mine.
From my vantage point, I slowly watched the evening fall apart.
There was a rather showy beef pot pie with a puff pastry. It was quite noticeable coming out of the kitchen. But as time went on, it began coming out of the kitchen in various different containers. They had run out of serveware.
The mimosas that were being served, began coming out of the bar in full sized wine glasses instead of champagne flutes. Apparently they had also run out of stemware!
When we were served our desserts, which were mediocre and tasted faintly of potpourri, they were served with gigantic soup spoons. Apparently they'd also run out of silverware.
The issues in the kitchen and the fact that our server kept disappearing for long periods of time to man the hostess stand, it took two people over two hours to have dinner. We ended up missing a pretty large chunk of time that we would've spent at the party in the bowling alley room. To add insult to injury, the entire experience cost over $300.
