The short manager in the bar is a horrible manager he doubled charged me than got mad when I asked for my money back. The way he cursed at me and talked to me I will never go back to this bar in my life. On top of that I just let him.keep the money cause its pointless to argue with somebody who's trying to swindle you!!!!! I used to love this place 10 yrs ago but with this guy as a manger its just a 5erribke place to try to enjoy yourself. Last place in hell ill go

They do not have food but you can bring it in. You meet some of the best locals at this place and you dont pay the down town prices....Best place in Boise!!!!

It's a good place for cheaper drinks. Can play pool and pinball.

The best, friendliness bar in Boise. Employees are very kind and attentive to your requests and needs. If you just want to socialize without alot of white noise, this is the place. I am from Tennessee and I will return. Don't forget to tip the Bartenders and Servers. They deserve it... The Bartenders are the best.

Food not available, but Han's Chimaek Korean Food is next door. Excellent food 😋

Bar tender told me they’d charge me double for opening and closing my tab for only the second time after paying cash all night. Should not be a big deal. DO. YOUR. JOB. Or quit if you can’t do a simple open and close. Trash lazy employees

Love this place, and the people. Maddie is the best bartender, love Josh, Lenny, and the rest of the crew as well. Super cheap drinks, great atmosphere, pool tables, dart board, Golden Tee, pull tab machines. Everything you could want from a Dive Bar. Keep up the good work my friends.

Clear across town, but I make the trek a couple times a week. Laid back atmosphere in the afternoon and early evening. Place picks up at night. Strong, well done cocktails, and friendly people. Video bowling, and love horse racing on always. My best friend and I have made some good memories in there.

7 minutes agoNEW I have been here a few times, the people are nice however getting a refill on your drink can be slow depending on when you go. I recently just went for a trivia night and it was my first time going to this bar. I understand that the rules were no phones when playing, however when you work from home and you have to have your phone on hand, or if you know somebody from out of state or out of country you may need to answer your phone. I was accused of cheating towards the end of the game when I wasn't even in first place, I asked the gentleman if I was cheating when I was talking to my boyfriend in Australia when he came to my table and interrupted us if I was cheating wouldn't I have all the carts? He advised me while I would think so, however when we have x amount of dollars in place we don't want phones. When the rules were set in place no prizes were named, and if I were to have an a family emergency or just trying to talk in general to somebody I cannot respond. When I left they wouldn't allow me to pay my tab which I did not feel comfortable with because I felt the bartender needed a tip they wouldn't allow me to pay on my card I had no cash on hand to do so, I don't believe I will be back to this bar for trivia ever again or even back in general due to the fact I was accused of doing something prior to me having my phone out. I never brought my phone out until I was accused of cheating and from there I had my phone out to answer my phone because of being accused.

Josh and Lenny are the best and staff is awesome. And the chicken from the place next door is amazing.

Don't do it! I thought trivia night would be fun but was accused of cheating when I had my phone on the table with a totally dark screen. Don't go if you need to be accessible by phone (call or text). I have to be available until all hours of the night so not worth it to me. Tried this place a few times and will never go back.

Selfishly I want to keep places like this to myself... our favorite Bloody Mary in Boise. It is consistently delicious and $3.50. Reroute yourself on a Sunday from crowded morning cocktail spots and treat yourself. Glory awaits you.

I've been going to the broadway country club for over 30 yrs. great drinks good service but even better prices

We visited the Broadway Bar on a Friday night. It was smokey, like many of the Boise bars still are, but it has some tremendous things going for it. For example... A pitcher of beer and 4 mixed drinks for 12 dollars. The drinks were strong and the beer was Amber Boch. Pool will cost you a hefty 25 cents. But, if you're feeling richer than usual, why not splurge on a free game of Shuffle Board? It may actually be 50 cents, but we didn't pay anything and nobody seemed to care. I haven't found a cheaper place to drink in Boise. 5 stars once they replace the light in the bathroom hall with one that isn't so bright. Also, be warned that it's cash only (they have an ATM). **DISCLAIMER** This bar didn't exist on Yelp so I added it with info out of the phone book. If anybody notices an error in the address, phone number, or anything else let me know! Or, just change it yourself I suppose.

Ohhh my dear sweet Broadway Bar. You know, I didn't even know it was Ves's Broadway Bar, I always thought my name would fit a little nicer. But hey, whatev. The last time I went to the Broadway was surprisingly on a Saturday night, maybe it was after one of the last BSU football games? Not sure. Anywho, we show up to the complete OPPOSITE crowd that I'm used to at the Broadway (ie: old, wrinkly, tokin' alchlies). Instead I was met with Douchey McDouche, looked around and there's at least 7 of them throughout the bar. Thankfully my man and a few of his friends were with me and we enjoyed our 2 beers and 2 shots of Crown (yes, Crown) for $10 with the tip!!!!... without having to deal with McDouchey and his drunk college buddies. Bonus! The ladies' bathroom consists of a few stalls covered with curtains and when you sit down on the stool, your knees jut out of the curtains. Classy haha... but it wouldn't be a dive bar without those aspects so I give it 4 stars for their attentive yet old bartenders, cheap pool and shuffle board, and wonderfully cheap and sturdy drinks! (Plus it's not but a hop, skip and a jump away from where I stay! WOO!)

This is definitely a dive bar, but it was just what we needed. They had cheap drinks and heavy handed pours. The beer was cold and the pool was cheap. The music they played was probably the most fun part of this place. It was an 80's throwback. Kenny Loggins, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran and many more. It was hilarious

Wandered over to have a few bloody Mary's with a friend on Saturday, haven't been here in probably 10 years. It did not disappoint. The drinks were great, the crowd was local, and it's one of those charming Boise dive bars. Great service and I had three bloody Mary's for $12. Normally you would find me having brunch somewhere downtown where one bloody Mary cost $12. I highly recommend and will definitely be back. Keep up the good work guys!

After a brief closure, the dive bar institution for nearly 50 years is back under new management. The Broadway Bar is usually packed on Friday and Saturday nights (what bar isn't) but is open during the daytime for those looking for a lunch break or with a day off. Cheap drink prices, being a beer drinker myself it was very convenient, along with the great hobbies of Shuffleboard and Pool. The only downside is during the busy hours when the place is filled with so much smoke that it resembles Los Angeles smog. Also the last time I was there (which was a while back so it may have changed since), a rule was in order that charged patrons 50 cents for hitting a cue stick on the ground or knocking a pool ball off the table. Overall, definitely recommended for those on a tight budget.

When the Broadway reopened a couple of years it quickly became a regular spot for myself and my friends. The new management does a great job of making people feel welcome. The staff is amazing and they have done a lot of upgrades to the building. The bonus is it still has some of the cheapest drinks in town! (If not the cheapest) As with all bars in Boise it is now non-smoking but they do have a covered patio out back for people who do smoke. They have upgraded all of the TV's and have the Sunday Ticket as well as the MLB package. As Doc likes to say its 3 star pricing with 5 star service!

This bar is great for cheap drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. And when I say cheap I mean reallllly cheap! $2 wells for starters. You won't have to wait forever for your drink, and there's none of the downtown madness. Also, parking is FREE! And you can leave your car there overnight without worrying about it being towed. It's non smoking now. They have a little outdoor patio where you can take your drinks. They have darts, pool, and a few videogames (golf and deer hunting). The juke box is pretty cool, but a little pricey. It's only .50 cents a song if you pick from the "local favorite" though. The only downside would be that there's only one stall in the girls' bathroom that has a door. The second stall only has a curtain. So if it's busy you might have to wait a little while to tinkle, or if you're brave, go behind the curtain. Overall, I give it a 5! Besides the girls' bathroom, it's my favorite place to pre-game before heading downtown. :)

Stay clear if you're Asian!! We were stopping by Idaho and wanted to get last call.. Walked in and the bartender seemed to be in a deep conversation with a patron... We waited by the bar... And waited... She looked over and then proceeded to continue her conversation.. We walked out.

When it comes to cheap drinks and good laughs the Broadway Bar is a great place to be. Whether you are "pregaming" before you head downtown or are wanting to watch a ball game ( 8 HD tvs), they have it. Don't be scared if the entire bar yells "QUATER!" if you drop a pool cue, it's customary to add 25 cents to the 8 ball break if a ball or cue hits the ground. The Broadway is more like a family than a bar and I like it that way.

This place has quickly become a favorite. The staff is amazing, friendly, fast and fun. A great mix of people, all of them ready with a smile and great conversation. Sunday's Bloody Mary bar (hosted by Renee, a national treasure) is the best way to nurse the lingering effects of a Saturday night spent in libation soaked laughter. Sometimes they have drink specials, but honestly, who needs them? The prices are so great all of the time, you'll wonder why you drink anywhere else. You can smoke on the patio sipping a cold beer and chatting with new friends. Play a game of pool, darts or my favorite Golden T. Think of something clever for the reader board and earn a free drink. Just can't say enough good about this place.

If you go to this bar and the bartender is a short, thin, grumpy looking old man, turn back around and leave. I have never received such bad service, been treated so rudely or had a worst experience than I did with this man. He is grumpy and ungrateful and if i was the owner, i would fire him if I wanted repeat customers. Bartending is not the job for this guy. I will not return to this bar and i will be sure that I tell everyone to not go there until that man isn't there. Worst. Bartender. Ever.

Made my first ever visit to the Broadway Bar last night. Large and roomy with plenty of entertainment options, pool, darts, shuffleboard, etc. No food but the food truck right next door was good and cheap and they even delivered it into the bar. Our waitress was attentive. We went there to play shuffleboard and go to it after dinner, the table was good and we were having fun and continuing to order drinks. Suddenly, a person later identified as the manager came up and said very brusquely that this is pay table and you have to pay per game.....50 cents. No mention was made of this when we checked out the pucks so I replied that we were spending a significant amount on drinks ($50) and wasn't that enough? He was insistent and very aggressive that we had to pay. Really? So we finished our game and closed out our tab and I gave him $2 on the way out and told him to keep the change. I won't be going back, there were a dozen better ways to handle this but maybe he's got all the business he wants. I hope the owner reads this post, I think we're the type of customer he'd want to return but there are plenty of other choices in town.

Attention party goers, people who have had more then one or two drinks or anyone looking to do something that doesn't involve sitting quietly, sipping your beer and then leaving without having any sort of social experience or getting to know anyone new. This bar is awesome, until Don shows up. I'm not sure why he was hired, but if the owners are reading reviews, you may want to consider firing him. Apparently, he thinks his bar is a library, or an old folks home. I would expect to be asked to leave a bar, if I had too much to drink or I was causing a scene, but according Don, it's against the rules to be a Barfly. After having two drinks, one of which the bartender who had been on shift right before him had happily poured for me- she was sweet as can be, I was rudely told "You know what, you're talking too much, you need to finish your drink and get out." No one wants to drink at a bar being tended by their mother... If I wanted to be solitary and silent, I would drink at home. The friend that was with me was shocked that we were being told to leave and even made the comment on our way out. "He must be Mormon." Your bar is a great little dive, but it's not a five star lounge. If you want to stay in business, you may want to explain to Don that people come to bars like the Broadway to get tipsy and have a good time and if he can't handle that, maybe he should get a job behind a desk somewhere. Very, very disappointing experience. Not worth the cab fare spent to get here. Boo.
