What a delightful surprise as I was wrapping up my stay in Tacoma. I thoroughly enjoyed shopping local. I got lavender sachets which I just used in my dryer. Could'nt resist roasted nuts. Lunch was from Cut the Crepe, savory, delicious and gluten free. My tie die fresh smoothie was everything.

I try to make it to this market every Thursday I can, which is usually just the summer. They have a wide variety of vendors & I love the hot/prepared food options. I have my absolute favorites, but I won't be divulging them. You'll just need to go try some of everything for yourself to figure it out. I've included a photographic hint of one! ;)

Loved this cute farmers market! Produce came in from the Yakima area and around here local. There were other great venues and local artists and crafts. Bought mushrooms and beautiful sewed pieces for my daughter.

A feast for the eyes! And tummy! This, personally, is the best Farmers Market in Tacoma with more vendors. The products are first class and the flowers fresh, beautiful and $10-$20 for a VERY generous bouquet!

Despite its compact size, this market managed to offer a delightful array of fresh produce, handcrafted goods, and local delicacies. The selection might not be as vast, but the quality of the fresh produce and local goods was impressive. The vendors were friendly and passionate, making the experience all the more enjoyable.

Yelp
Summer us flying by. Stop in for local flowers, veggies, mushrooms and more! The cherries are gone and soon, so will the market close for the season.

Yelp
Love this Thursday morning/afternoon farmers market. Plenty of vendors selling everything from flowers, fruits, produce to jewelry and plenty of food options. This is a great farmers to not only pick up some goodies for the week but also to grab lunch. There's some tables to sit and there are options for pretty much any palate. Don't forget to BYOB. (Bring your own bag)

Yelp
The absolute best thing about this farmer's market are the flower stands. There are so many of them and they really deliver on long-lasting flowers that are beautiful and cheap. I've purchased so many $5 bouquets from here over the years. Food trucks - they have 'em and there are plenty of folks from the surrounding offices lined up to get at them and order. I've never been blown away by something I had from one of the food trucks here and, strangely enough, have had better food from the same trucks in other locations. I don't know what that's about but there you have it. I never use this street for driving, despite working downtown for many years and living in the Stadium District, so I've always thought it was a great location - close enough to get to, not important enough to make me cranky. Though, location does seem to make it easy to forget! October's arrival usually means my house is a little less colorful.

Yelp
The Downtown Tacoma Farmers Market takes place every Thursday (May through October) from 10:00 - 15:00 on Broadway between 9th and 11th streets. Lots of local food vendors, fresh cut flowers, seasonal vegetables, bakeries, arts/crafts, etc. There is usually live music, too. City of Tacoma charges to park on the streets downtown and the area can get crowded on market days, so beware!

Yelp
The Thursday Tacoma Farmer's Market is pretty fantastic! I love the live music, fresh produce, gorgeous flowers and delicious lunch options. Recently, I sampled the fare at Griddler's Gourmet Grilled Cheese stand. I ordered the Dilly Dally - Havarti cheese, house made pickles and mustard on rye. The wait was about 15 minutes but it was WORTH IT! I'd buy that mustard by the bottle if they sold it. The guy manning the grill took his craft seriously and paid intense attention to each sandwich he artfully prepared. The flowers are an amazing deal, with prices ranging from $5-$25 for bright, perfumed floral bouquets. Plenty of fresh produce, hand made soaps, arts and crafts, Seahawks gear, it's all here at the Broadway Farmers Market.

Yelp
Great for lunch with lots of flavorful choices. Highly recommend lumpia world - $10 for adobo chicken pancit rice and lumpia ..! Gateway of India also another top choice :) Lots of flowers and veggies and little trinkets and sweets - 3 times bigger than proctor farmers market

Yelp
The Broadway Farmer's Market is a lovely little Thursday oasis in downtown Tacoma. It's on the smaller size but they still have a good variety of stalls. There are booths dedicated to produce, soaps, baked goods, plants (indoor and outdoor), jewelry, crafts and flowers. There are also a couple of good stands that serve lunch items and coffee. Every vender I stopped at was friendly and helpful. It's not difficult to find parking (which is also cheap) and it's within walking distance of many other businesses, cafes and coffee shops so you could easily spend the whole day there. My only complaint is that I wish it was open more days out of the week or for longer hours.

Yelp
While the Broadway Farmers Market is not necessarily my favorite farmer's market in town there are some aspects to it that I really enjoy! Like all over Seattle metro each farmer's market in the city has it's own vibe, it's vendors which are sometimes exclusive only to one or two markets and so on. What I particularly like about this farmer's market is the fresh produce and flower vendors. I even found a favorite food vendor here which is the Gateway To India vendor. They have a restaurant in town but I didn't enjoy it as much until I went to their food stands at a couple markets in town. The line is usually very long here for this vendor but they work as fast as they can. I found a few things I really like with this Gateway To India's food stand which is their chicken ka-bob's and their Indian Tacos. Delicious! The drinks they have available like their Chai and a strawberry drink are to die for! They once had a stand for Ice Cream Social in town, in my opinion Tacoma's best ice cream shop and they were delicious as usual. I didn't see them this year(2016) they may have not had their stand up when I went or I missed it...not too sure. There is a doughnut vendor I'm not too terribly impressed with. They make the mini doughnuts in different flavors and seemed a bit impatient with me but there were lots of options and not very well laid out for that matter. Overall I really like this market though and occasionally slip away here during my lunch hour on Thursdays. Thursdays is when the market is set up here.

Yelp
I love the market! I live right across the street so I have fresh food and fresh flowers every week. Fun place to walk around talking to people.

Yelp

Yelp
Open Thursdays during the season, offers a wide variety of local food options. Everything from grilled cheese, philly cheese steaks, tacos, Indian, Greek food, lumpia. I didn't see a ton of sweet options but other than that. Most places take credit cards. They've recently set up tables/umbrellas near the fountain. I'd say the food is probably priced slightly higher than what you would find at a stand alone restaurant but worth it to buy local and help the small businesses near by.

Yelp
I like how the Downtown Tacoma Farmers Market is evolving. There are continually more people who enjoy the market. Check it out!

Yelp
I love this market. It's a mix of local farmers selling veggies and goods, flower vendors and arts and crafts folks. There is an oatmeal cookie vendor that is to die for and we recently had lunch at lumpia world here. Amazing!! It's located conveniently downtown so if you don't want to hassle with parking you can take public transit or the free link to it. They also have a pretty awesome program for folks on assistance called fresh bucks. This market is definitely one of the favorites and one that we go to often to pick up some groceries or for a hot lunch out in the sun.

Yelp
The Broadway Farmer's Market is very popular and one of the biggest in the area. They have a great combination of food to buy and food to eat, local politics and products, and fun entertainment. On my latest visit I was wowed by lunch from the Lumpia World food truck and got lots of amazing produce, including a great selection of organics. I also have to rave about Ice Cream Social--they have the best ice cream in the south south (fig and honey, buttered popcorn, chocolate peanut butter, lavender, star anise...!!). Today I got to savor my ice cream while watching an older couple serenade the crowds (the "Double Barrs"!). The atmosphere is really festive on a sunny day, with local grocery shoppers and people seeking lunch coming from nearby businesses. You can eat to your heart's content, consult with master gardeners for free, listen to live music, and plan your meals for the week while getting in some of the best people-watching around. The only problem can be parking, but I always find a spot within a block or two. Enjoy the summer through October! And leave with a show-stopping bouquet of flowers for a mere $5 from one of at least five flower vendors.

Yelp
This is a delightful, little farmers' market. The flowers are beautiful and priced so well. I love steak sandwiches that one vendor sells. Taste of India usually has a booth, too. I find the pastries a little overpriced. There is an ATM conveniently located at the end of the market. I'm looking forward to when they open again in May, and I hope that it's larger this year.

Yelp
Out of the Farmers markets I frequent in Tacoma (6th ave, 66th, Proctor, Broadway), Broadway is my favorite. This is my first year attending the Broadway market. I usually go to 66th (formally off 56th & S. Tacoma Way on Sundays). You can catch me on Broadway Thursdays during my lunch. From fresh flowers, the lumpia truck, a slice of pie, or veggie plants this is the place to be before 3p. I suggest bringing cash although you can use credit cards to get tokens (go to the information table for assistance). The crowd is good, the atmosphere inviting, and the food delish!

Yelp
A cute little farmers market covering about a block, give or take. It is good enough for me as it is in walking distance from our house. A little small, but it offers everything you would see at any other farmers market. Fresh flowers, fresh produce, food trucks. A good time on a Thursday.

Yelp
Definitely go for the flowers! So many choices; there was even a pick-your-own station. Most stands accept credit/debit as well as cash; there's even an EBT option for those with food stamps, which is a very nice plus. Warning: you *will* get hungry here, as food stops are at every corner. Two ice cream joints today, which was certainly a hit on this particularly warm day. Friendly folks, fair prices, worth a look-see!

Yelp
Love the farmers market. They have amazing flowers, fruits and great food for great price. Me and my family go to it every chance we get.

Yelp
The city of Tacoma loves giving tickets for any reason even in private lots! Be careful and cautious they are trying to earn revenue clearly!

Yelp
my husband and i went to this years (2015) farmers market on Broadway and was very, very disappointed. not only was the food not good like it use to be but the vendors (arts and craft items) were no where to be found. all it was, flowers, food and a couple of token craft vendors. no bread bakery items like they use to have (to get a bite to eat), not much in the way of cookies, etc. like in the prior years. not even as many vegetable stands either. all i can say is "don't bother paying for parking, its not worth it" Sorry to say! i always, always support downtown but they need to do better with the Thursday market...
